Well, that didn’t take long. We haven’t even had the very first wave of Amiibo’s hit store shelves and we’re already aware of what’s coming next year. It appears new Amiibo’s will be arriving rather quickly, confirming Nintendo’s initial warning that several of them will be available only for a limited time. The 2nd batch of Amiibo’s arrives in December of this year, with the 3rd batch hitting January 22nd (in Japan) and the 4th batch arriving in February. It’s safe to assume those dates will be fairly close to the release dates in other parts of the world too.

What can we expect in the 3rd and 4th waves? Lots of goodies, that’s what. Here’s the full rundown:

January 22

  • Lucario
  • Rosalina
  • Bowser
  • Toon Link
  • Sheik
  • Ike
  • Meta Knight
  • King Dedede

February

  • Shulk
  • Sonic
  • Mega Man

This may not be the exact order of release here in the United States or in Europe. While we have two rounds of Amiibo’s this year, Japan got all of them at launch. There could be some shuffling of stuff when it finally makes it our way. Either way, we have a gallery of all the new Amiibos so you have an idea of what they will look like (obviously, changes can be made to the actual production model, as we saw with this first couple batches).
