The mountain is home to the Ice Temple and the "Hylian Digging Mine" where Hylians dig for iron, copper, tin, bronze, silver, and gold.

The ores found in the mine are then sent to Hyrule Castle Town where it is smelted by a blacksmith to make armor for the knights of Hyrule. The mine is also known to have diamonds, emeralds, rubies, and sapphires with in it.

At the bottom of the mountain rest a town called "Glacier Shire" or "The Shire" as some of towns people call it. The small settlement is the home of the Hylians who work in the mines and there familles as well.

This town is also home to "The Royal Knights Of Hyrule Academy," a place where boys from all over Hyrule age 10 and older, who dream of becoming a royal knight of Hyrule can go learn the ways of the knighthood until they reach the age of 17 when they officially become a knight of Hyrule.
