Except that none of the clones started to degenerate until after Day 2 started (or, at least, nobody died), so the D8 numbers are actually the correct ones.

seems weird for them to start degenerating only after finding out, they were still clones after all

It doesn't really matter. The degeneration events are discrete outcomes, so if we have 10 clones and none die on D2, then our forecast updates accordingly as we calculate the expected survival rate over the remaining 8 day period (which, as you calculated, is 48%).

Honestly, the clone death odds don't seem that grim, but especially for the survivors I can understand not wanting to roll the dice.
Side note, anyone familiar with ZD want to tell me how this "Iso" stuff and callouts work. If I @Silverfish, does he get a notification to come to the thread, for instance? Is the syntax just @Morbid Minish @Silverfish if I want to do multiple? And if I wanted to look at all of someone's posts?

Use the search feature, search "This Thread" and in the members section type the name of the member you want to ISO.

Alternatively, click the "..." > "Who replied" in the top right of the thread. It will pop up a list of everyone who has posted in the thread, along with a number next to their name. By clicking on the number, you can see all posts by that player in this thread.
