Apparently in Japan Mother 3 was one of the games announced to be coming to NSO in addition to what’s coming over here.
I didn’t even like mother 3 and I’m kinda annoyed.

Partner Showcase on Wednesday. Ordinarily I’d be quite disappointed, and I still am, but this time less so if only because there’s a very real chance that Level-5 (and therefore the only game I have to be excited for) is going to have a...
Another ho-hum direct. Better than the last one if only because it felt like there was more to it than just Mario, but at the same time even less managed to grab me. There wasn’t a single thing in this direct that I know I’m getting for sure, even the last one had wonder I guess. Luigi’s Mansion...
My hopes are the same as last time.
Professor Layton and Prime 4 news are the big things. Ports of Prime 2 and 3 are also up there. A collection of the rest of the Layton saga would be too I guess.
I’d imagine we’ll see a few courses from the final MK8DX wave, so I’m hoping that Airship...
give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario give me Wario...
No, definitely not that. Even if we want to think that Prime 4 has been canned for whatever reason, Prime Remastered uses the same source code as the Trilogy version. It definitely doesn’t take 4 years to port that, even with the added textures and control options.
I touched upon it earlier in this thread and went in depth a bit in the SB, but I get the distinct impression that this Direct was incredibly rushed.
Some evidence supporting my theory being:
-Pokemon DLC was not only in the Direct as opposed to its own separate Pokemon Presents like it...
This was quite the underwhelming presentation. New 2D Mario and Mario RPG were the highlights, the MGS collection announcement was great, apart from that… meh?
I was instantly worried when the first thing they had to show off was Pokemon, and doubly worried when they dedicated a segment to the...
And also the one where they said they’re still working on it, and the one where they’ve sent out multiple waves of surveys asking how excited people were about it earlier this month.
Not a direct, but close enough so:

10 minutes of TotK gameplay. Maybe they’ll finally tell us whats different about the $70 DLC.
Literally the best Direct in years. Maybe even the best direct ever.
-Layton alone made my year. The artstyle alone looks weird, but whatever I just need it now.
-Metroid Prime remaster looks amazing, and it’s releasing so soon. Hopefully we can get the other two soon.
-Layton is back
-I...
There’s no way that they’re not going to at least mention TotK.
Just a throwaway thought, but seeing as how there was a 4 year gap between Samus Returns and Dread and its been over a year since then, I can potentially see them announcing a new 2D remake to hold us over if we don’t get any...

Can’t wait for a billion JRPGs and farm sims again, along with no news for TotK.
Well obviously. I’m saying that if the choice is between a movie with a passible yet generic story with little to no Mario references or a bad story with an over abundance of Mario references, I’d choose the later. If it doesn’t reference the source material at all then why bother even making it...
That’s one of the reasons why I’m still cautiously optimistic, though if I had to choose between too many Mario references and not enough I’d certainly go for the former.
It looks better than the first trailer, but I’m still in the “cautiously optimistic” mindset here. I like that they’re bringing in Mario Kart to the mix, and the talk of galaxies is making me hopeful for a Rosalina cameo, but theres still a lot that can go wrong here.

There’s just something off about Peach’s chin, and the infection seems to have spread to the stained glass window.
Actually with Wario Land’s case I think its the exact opposite, they outsourced Shake It to Good-feel, only for it to be a commercial flop. It might be less of a pride thing and more of a “I don’t trust anyone with this property but me” thing, which to be fair if I lend out my IP to someone and...
Sure, its selling well after the Splatoon direct. That doesn’t change that there was a noticeable amount of the instal base that didn’t know the difference prior. Literally all you have to do to prove this is look at any youtube comment section before the direct was announced.
What you said...
But I haven’t blamed Monolith for anything? If anything what you’ve said is just in support of what I’ve been saying about It being Nintendos fault that Xenoblade has gotten so much support while other series haven’t.
You mean the response to when people were first getting fed up with the...
To you there was, which is something that I tried to tell you then too. To the vast majority of people, there isn’t a notable difference. That’s not complaining, thats stating a fact.
no, but directly wishing the people who are generally split on the issue of franchise and genre oversaturation...
Oh it’s certainly not Xenoblade or Fire Emblem fans in general that are entitled, but there are absolutely a select group of people who use the fact that their franchises are so well supported to put anyone who complains about it down under the excuse of them hating it for some reason, even if...
How is flipping what ronin said “blatantly” saying anything? By your own logic, you should be criticizing exactly what he said in addition to me.
Which is why I’m not mad at people who got what they want, I’m mad at the people who got what they want and use that to taunt anyone who dares to...
When did I say that it was Monolith’s fault? When did I say that fans of a series don’t deserve releases? When did I say that a developer shouldn’t be allowed to make them?
I didn’t.
I said that Nintendo still has the ability to manage what gets released, and therefore it is their fault that...
How is this a response to anything that I said?
That context literally does not exist.
As I said earlier, you have been spoon fed Xenoblade content after Xenoblade content for years, while other franchises that are just as popular if not more so have gotten nothing on the switch, or in some...
Pikmin 4 was the clear highlight, and the Tears of the Kingdom name drop was a decent way to end things off. Apart from that, bleh.
Not the worst direct ever, but it wasn’t particularly good either.
Ok, but that doesn’t mean fill it with the same stuff as the past 3 directs, that just means show us what you do have. If Nintendo makes a habit and doesn’t adhere to it thats on them, not the fans.
That’s what’s been happening for the past few years.
I wouldn’t exactly call “being annoyed that Nintendo has been catering specifically to one demographic recently” the same thing as “taking things too seriously.” They’re the ones who hype up their directs, they’re the ones who know very well of their own popularity, its not unreasonable for...
They have a ton that they can announce though. If they can announce and release Xenoblade 3 in the time that they did then theres no reason to think that they won’t be able to announce a new entry in one of the many franchises that they’ve been neglecting for years for a holiday release.
It’s...
Took them long enough.
Its just gonna be the same crap as usual. You know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s hard to ever get excited anymore when every direct is as garbage as the last few have been.
To a much, much lesser extent, yes. Thats a reason to buy the game, sure, but thats not exactly the games main selling point. It’s not like Zelda where theres a massive emphasis on the changes implemented in the singleplayer aspect, and even then Zelda has always sold significantly worse when it...
The differences between this and Smash are that:
A.There hadn’t been a Smash game on the system yet, so even if it were a port than it would still be more reasonable than having the same game on the system twice.
B. Ultimate had far more of a hook when it was announced than anything we’ve...
Ok, but what is that idea exactly? From what I’ve seen, this literally just looks like Splatoon 2… again. Sure there’s been a few announcements for some new changes, but none if it seems substantial enough to justify a brand new game as opposed to just updating 2. It would be one thing if...
This is probably the best direct mini yet, though that isn’t exactly saying much. A lot of stuff that I know people are really happy for, but its kinda hard for me to get exited when ~90% of it was just ports of old games. Mario + Rabbids is the only game here that I might get, with an emphasis...
