I don't claim to be a metal head, in fact, the music I usually listen to would only fall as far as heavy rock and grunge. However, fairly recently I came across this fantastic metal band called Blind Guardian. The best way I can describe them is... if medieval minstrels had electric guitars :bleh: What draws me to their music, I think, is that each song is like its own little epic fantasy tale. The instrumentals are great, there's more to it than just guitars being shredded on high frets for 5 minutes -_- Best of all, the lead singer Hansi Kürsch has a great, great voice. He doesn't scream inaudibly, he sings, very powerfully I may add.

A fun thing I noticed while indulging in my new discovery was how hilariously well their music goes with Zelda. I'm not the only one who thinks so, because a little while after I began listening, I came across a very nice TP music video featuring BG's song "Nightfall"

A lot of songs actually go well with the games. There's one called "Lionheart" which always reminds me of Link and the Triforce of Courage since the chorus repeats "I'm in search of the Lionheart". Another fun fact, they have an album called "Tales From the Twilight World" with a song on it called "Traveler in Time" lol

Anyways, Zelda-esque or not, these guys are awesome :)

Oh, you don't have to persuade me. Hansi is absolutely incredible and I haven't changed that opinion after the first time I heard, "The Bard's Song." For as long as the band has been around, I've only recently been exposed to them (within the last 3 years). I love Valhalla, especially with Kai Hansen's solo and practically every single video you find of live is of amazing quality. I honestly think Blind Guardian and The Elder Scrolls are a better pairing, but to each his own.

I am a fan of metal (power, folk, viking, symphonic, gothic) and Blind Guardian is truly in my top 5 favorite bands. In fact, if you didn't know, they're touring! I already told Mases, though the U.S. dates aren't set yet, but they'll probably be in 2011. Yes, the webmaster likes Blind Guardian too. :)

Valhalla, yes! The live vid seems to be a favorite amongst a lot a fans I've come across so far. I'm much fresher to the band, only listening for about two months now  My interest was finally sparked by this huge tapestry of the "Somewhere Far Beyond" album art that my sister and her boyfriend have hanging in their apartment (I'm sure they'd be interested in the tour, but as for myself, I'm kind of wary of going to intense concerts these days; almost got crushed at a few last year D: ) I had gone past said tapestry a million times, so I finally decided to look 'em up.

I love Blind Guardian.

I have three of their albums: Imaginations from the Other Side, Nightfall in Middle Earth, and A Night at the Opera. All three contain songs I love, but the real highlight for me is Imaginations, where I can't even pick a favorite song.

I'm a big fan of metal, and I can tell you their style is something else. The layering on of vocals, the melodies, the lyrics...they all combine to create an unrivaled atmosphere in their music that's really something else. I'm still a bit new to them, so I can't call myself completely accustomed as of yet. There's a lot to look forward to, as they have a rich discography with plenty of great music. I just wish they didn't make us wait so long for each new album!

My favorite track by Blind Guardian as of now is Time Stands Still at the Iron Hill:
