Simple, what is your favorite book series?

Mine is either Lord of the Rings, or the Prydain Chronicles. I haven't finished either of them but I'm reading them now.

The Edge Chronicles, great book series. I really recommend It. I never finished It because I can't find the fifth book on stores, but I will. someday.

I would have to say The Lord of the Rings and probably Harry Potter. I'm also quite fond of the Inheritance Cycle seeing as Eragon is rather similar to Lord of the Rings, it's a good series.

The Circle Trilogy by Ted Dekker is my all time favorite. LOTR is a close second, as is the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan.

Book series? Hum... would it be absolutely nerdy of me to say Mass Effect? Or better yet, Halo. The games are an atrocity and should be burned, but the books are amaaaaazing!

The Chronicles of Narnia.

(May the trumphant roar of Aslan banish the 50 character limit)

Here are some* of my favorite books:

• Out of My Mind – Sharon Draper
• The Darkest Age Trilogy – A.J. Lake
• The Legend of Zelda: Manga Collection – Akira Himekawa
• Percy Jackson and the Olympians – Rick Riordan
• And Then There Were None (Ten Little Indians) – Agatha Christie
• The Immortals Series – Alyson Noël
• Tears of a Tiger – Sharon Draper
• Speak – Laurie Halse Anderson

Yeah, Sharon Draper visited my school a while back and I got a copy of her "Out of My Mind" book autographed a week before it was released in stores. It was a really good book! I highly suggest you guys should read it. And he figurative language is just amazing!

*These are books I have recently read and liked them quite a bit. Yes, I am aware some aren't really series, but they are really good for recommendations.

I don't read at all anymore, but the only series as such that I ever got into was Harry Potter. Even still, I'm nowhere near as into it as I used to be. Perhaps when I finish school I'll be able to get back into books and find something else.

The Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling and The Overlander Chronicals by Suzanne Collins tie for me.
I'm also partial to Artemis Fowl and the Chronicals of Narnia.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy first comes to mind. Although that should be quite obvious by now, if you paid any attention to my irrelevant signature.
Then there's Empire of the Ants. It may not be the most well-written book of all time(and you most likely never heard about it.), but it sure as hell got my attention and immersion is one of the most important aspects of a good story. Which is why I hate to ask; why wasn't the third part released outside France again?

Aside from the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Sherlock Holmes series, there aren't many that have gotten my attention. I've never been a huge fan of fiction, though I used to read fiction rather frequently. In about 8th grade I ditched reading fiction at my leisure and began to pick up more nonfiction. As many of you are aware, series aren't too common within the realm of science nonfiction, but there are some. In fact, Wiley's Bad Science series has managed to captivate me from the very beginning. I'd absolutely recommend it.

My favorite book series... it would have to be Harry Potter or Artemis Fowl. Those are the only actual series I can read... I don't read a lot anyways.

Raymond E Feist's The Riftwar Cycle will probably be my favorite series of books for the rest of my life. His writting is inspiratio,n and he has been writting professionally for something like 30 years now. The Riftwar Cycle (as Ray likes to call it) is comprised of over 25 books and is still in the works. It takes a little more than a year for each new book to come out and i don't think there will be to many left in the series but if you like Zelda I would say check these books out! His books are read in different countries around the world and he is an international bestseller! I think his last book got in the top 10 list of must read books for some magazine like the NY time? not sure but what im trying to say is that if your reading this post and you really like books at least check it out.

The Soldier Son Trilogy BY Robin Hobb was another great series. Also Ursala K Le Guin's The Earthsea Quartet, and The Farsala Trilogy by Hilari Bell was Serious!

I really liked the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. I highly recommend it. Has anyone ever heard of The Mysterious Benedict Society? I was very pleased with that book, and want to start the sequel soon.

You know, embarrassingly, I don't do a lot of reading. Not much at all actually. So, I tend to not read much of even series I like a lot.

One series I've been able to read quite a lot of, and has become one of my favorites, is the Underland Chronicles. It's an odd, little known (as far as I know) series about a kid who's dropped into an underground world where he meets talking rats, cockroaches, bats, etc.. It's very interesting, with some intriguing political messes and a fairly dark storyline. I've read the first three. I have the fourth one lying around, I just haven't read it yet... :?

Well...Since Harry Potter is finished, I continued moving on.

So My favorites as of this day are Harry Potter, The 39 Clues, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Now I'm just waiting for the new book of The 39 Clues.
I also read books made by specific authors as well, besides J.K. Rowling, I also read books by Dan Brown.

I've been thinking for what I'd say in this thread for a while now. I guess I can't say I really have a favourite, but I'm gonna pick two for this thread.

A year or two ago a friend let me borrow a book called "The Lost Years of Merlin." I fell in love with the book, and I asked her if I could borrow the rest of the series from her. She let me borrow them, and I loved it. I really want to read them all again, too.

After I read "The Lost Years of Merlin" epic, my friend let me borrow "The Great Tree of Avalon." It was a trilogy that was made after "The Lost Years of Merlin." It followed a few years after the epic. I eventually found "The Great Tree of Avalon" as one of the most amazing trilogies I've ever read.

This girl needs to start reading more again. I love to read but I never seem to have the time or energy anymore. Blaah. But as far as favorite series go, they would include Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and (right now) the Wheel of Time series. Still in the first book, and it's really good so far. There's a few more but I can't think of them off the top of my head. I really like the fantasy genre though - this thread seems to have a ton of good suggestions.

Well, to tell you the truth, mine is always changing. It used to be Goosebumbs. Really good books, yet not very long. Then I found a series called Animorphs. I loved those books so much. But those don't compare to Percy Jackson. All extremely good book, my favorites being The Sea Of Monsters and The Last Olympian. I've never read Harry Potter before, I'll probably start reading them soon.

I like Harry Potter, of course. I also enjoy this series with three books named: 1. The Name of This Book is Secret 2. If You're Reading This It's Too Late and 3. This Book is Not Good For You. They are very good. LOtR and The Hobbit are excellent along with a series called Dragon Lance and one called the Tale of the Belgariad.

Pendragon by DJ Machale, and Warriors by Erin Hunter. I've started on the Lord of the Rings books, and so far I like them.
Every once and a while I'll steal a book from my brother to read, and I found that the Halo books that he has that go with the games are actually pretty good. They're really in-depth.
Then again, I like almost ANY book...
