So I love the character and enemy of Dark Link. I think it is a great concept and a challenge. I have completed the main quest for TP and I was extremely disappointed and confused that he never appeared. (I haven't made it all the way to the bottom of the Cave of Ordeals yet, so if he is there, don't tell me). But I though for sure, in the twilight realm, when everything is in SHADOW, and everything is DARK, you know the whole concept of the ALTERNATE REALM, that he would be a boss or mini-boss.
There was three dark Link figures in the cut scene after beating the lakebed temple but that was it.
Does anyone else feel my pain or agree that he should have been in the game somewhere, especially in the twilight palace? If you disagree, I would really like to hear your position of why he shouldn't have been in the game.

he probably coudve made a great mini-boss in the arbiter grounds.

you have to remember a key concept with Dark Link that showed in OoT. That was the fact that Dark Link mimics Link's every move and attack.

Hmm... If I remember correctly, you can see Dark Link in Link's house. If you look at the mirror in the basement while wearing the Master Sword, you can see him.

AND THIS IS MY OPINION.
Well, you can't expect Dark Link to be in every Zelda game. After playing Twilight Princess 4 time, I don't think that Dark Link would fit into Twilight Princess, it just wouldn't seem right. Yes, there were dark link figures after lakebed temple was over, and yes, that was the last of him in that game.
Even with the Twilight Realm, or the alternate world, I still don't think that dark link would fit in with th game. Zant needed to be somewhere too, and that was the Palace of Twilight.
There's nothing you can do about it, except wait for the next Zelda game to feature him. Maybe in Zelda Wii.

I disagree with that statement right there. When they were talking about Midna's ancestors, they showed the dark Link figures. Now because dark Link wans't in the game, these were just representations but if he had been that would've made the Twilight realm a perfect place for a dark Link. He could have been one of the originals who tried to use magic but was placed in the Twilight World for it. You know, Midna's ancestors. I don't know how he would have stayed alive for that long but its LoZ, they would have figured something out.
Anyway, dark Link would have made a great mini-boss as Zant's right hand man. Though I'm not sure if he should have been in the game from the beginning or stayed hidden until his surprise appearance in
the Twilight realm.

I agree. Dark Link should've been in TP ESPECIALLY in the Twilight Palace. And actually it would've been fun if he was not only able to use all the hidden skills you got, but also all your items that you got, including upgrades, and basically being able to do everything you can! That'd be heck of a fight right there! Too bad Nintendo didn't do it... oh well maybe they'll have it in ZW2.

I think that it's strange they didn't put Dark Link in, especially since they bothered to create a Dark Link sprite.
I have a feeling that they originally planned to put Dark Link in the Twilight Realm (or somewhere), but ended up cutting him due to time constraints... and just decided to use him in that cinematic sequence so the model/sprite wouldn't go to waste.
There are three possible places I would have expected to encounter Dark Link.
1. Twilight Palace (replacing Phantom Zant mini-boss)
This assumes that cinema would have remained unchanged. In this case, Dark Link could be one of those that was sealed away.
2. Lakebed Temple (replacing Deku Toad)
Tradition. We fought Dark Link in the Water Temple, and the Lakebed Temple is in almost the same place... why not have him there?
3. Temple of Time (replacing Darknut mini-boss)
Somehow, it just... would have been appropriate. Especially if the Master Sword had been guarded there, or even if it hadn't been.

Wouldn't that of been epic! Cast a spell/charm/curse that acts and looks like the previous master (So Far.) of the Master Sword!
That's where I think Dark Link should of gone as well.
Coulda Shoula Woulda but didn't.
Numerous places where it could have fit but they decided to focus more on different things. He'll always come back because people like the concept so much. Fighting your shadow. Epic.

Yup, like in the Spinner thread, a multistage mini-boss battle with Dark Link would have rocked. Fighting on the spinner across the tracks while jumping back and forth then breaking his Blade Trap for a showdown in a cog filled area could have been pretty fun.

Yeah, Dark Link would make an excellent mini-boss in TP. And if I remember correctly, Dark Link was EXTREMELY easy. Though he copied every move with the Master Sword, you could easily take him out with another sword or item.

I didn't miss Dark Link that much. Yes you saw him in the cut scene in Hylia but still I don't really care about it.
