First off, sorry if this is a duplicate :(

Well, are you guys getting any Zelda game lately?

As this is the first year I've ever played Zelda, and only own two games, today I started searching for some Zelda games, then remembered there are four Zelda games for my GBA (well, it's my brother's GBA, but... you know).

At first, I searched for the Oracle games, then realized you need two gameboys to play it...
Then I searched for MC, but I don't know if the guy who sells the game is to far away...

Finally, I searched for LA DX, and found it for 50 pesos (the local currency)...
And I'll buy it tomorrow!:D
I'm very happy, best of all the guy doesn't lives to far away, so I don't think it'll take him more than one week to come to my house and give me the game.:)

Well. As I own all of the Zelda games except for Four Swords, I will not be getting any new Zelda games any time soon. Except for the new Zelda Wii when it comes out next year of course.;)

And for the information, you do not need two Gameboys to play the Oracle games. That's probably Four Swords that you are thinking of. You only need two Gameboys and a copy of both Oracle of Ages AND Oracle of Seasons if you want to get the full experience. Which is of course password linking. If you need any more information on that, or anything else Zelda related, I'd check here: http://www.zeldawiki.org/Main_Page
It also has a list of all the Zelda games, which may help.

I know I didn't have much merit to post here, but I thought I should point that out. As you really shouldn't miss out on great titles like the Oracle games. And they work fine as stand alone titles.

A friend gave me 2000 Wii Points for Christmas, and I used 1800 them on Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past. I actually have both of these games already, but my N64 is minus an expansion pak, and it's a pain to hook and unhook that SNES. Yay VC! ;)

Nice to know you guys enjoy your Zelda games (especially you, Kazumi, you know many people wants to kill you ;) )

Sometimes I wish i could have a Wii...
Then I think that, if you have a Zelda game (apart from TP), you don't have it officially...

Well, I know you can play GBC games with the GBA, and I know that, probably, you can play LA DX with the GBA, but I still want to be sure if you can play it on the GBA... Does someone knows if you can play it on a Gameboy Advance?

It's a GameBoy Color game, right? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. I don't believe the Nintendo handhelds really had issues with backwards compatibility like some of the consoles do. I'm pretty sure practically every game works.

And Kaz is correct. You only need one GameBoy to get the full experience of the OoX games. What you do is exchange passwords. You don't actually need to be playing them at the same time. You can play one, write down your passwords, and input them in the other later. ;)

Anyway, as for me...

Alas, I am currently in debt to a family member for them helping me buy my laptop, so I don't have any money to spend on personal things. So I won't be getting any Zelda games any time soon. When I do manage to pay them off, I'll probably buy some off Virtual Console (LoZ, AoL) and get all the handheld Zelda games I'm missing. As for PH and ST... I don't have a DS. I intend to buy a DSi sometime after paying off the debt on my laptop, but I might try to collect all of the GameBoy games first.

I got seven Zelda games this year so far (this is also my first year of Zelda) and just recently I got Four Swords Adventure, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks (yay Christmas! lol)

The only Zelda game i got lately is Spirit tracks but I'm trying to collect other spin-off games as well (Not including the CD-i games, they kinda sucked) Like Link's Crossbow Training. It would be awesome to play it.

I got LoZ, AoL, LttP, and OoT on VC earlier this year. Got ST the week after it came out. And got MC for Christmas. So that's 6 this year. (I owned MM, WW, and FSA previously, and borrowed my friend's PH before I played ST)
I'm hoping to get LA, OoX, and ZW sometime next year.

I'm saving for the newer ones. First I'm saving for a wii and TP, then I'll buy the classics on VC (as I lost pretty much everything, N64 got stolen and my 16-bit burned down and my 8-bit somehow got soaked).
If all goes well, they might come with some invention like the Super Gameboy or something, so you can play handhelds on a bigger screen. Then, I will get them, otherwise I'll have to think about it.

I'm not buying LA... Why?
- It was LA, not LA DX.
- The owner wasn't selling it.

:( I feel stupid.

But!
I'll buy OOA... I don't know if today or tomorrow, and I suppose I'll get it before the 12/30 (or the 12/30).

I hope OOA it's great, it would be a big dissapointment to have a bad game as my third Zelda game.

Well, I haven't played it yet myself, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. Some people have even stated it as one of their favorite games out of the whole series. If you like the old overhead 2D Zeldas, you should love OoA. I've heard less spectacular things about it's "twin", OoS, but I'm sure that's a pretty good game too. The games I hear about being "bad" the most tend to be AoL and PH, although I'm pretty sure people mainly dislike AoL because it's different.

Well, I doubt it would be soon, but I'm planning on getting some WiiPoints soon and getting ALTTP. I've heard that's the best Zelda game by many people, and I really want to get it. If I don't get WiiPoints, then I'm gonna try to get to this one mall I got to go to in Michigan and by it there. There was a store there that had a bunch of old Nintendo games. It was amazing..

The other game I plan on getting is Zelda Wii when it comes out.

The most recent Zelda game I got was Spirit Tracks for the DS in December. However I plan to get (as told by my sig) the oracle games, Link's Awakening, Four Swords Adventures, and Zelda Wii 2.

haven't been getting too many lately... although i have almost every game in some form (port, rom, cartridge...) i still want to get all the carts for sure. I was able to get a gold cart of MM for free a while ago which was a big score because somewhere along the line I had lost the one i got as a kid. Also picked up WW (again). hmm still looking for another OoX to buy. but ya, it seems like the carts are getting way more rare here in Halifax.. especially LA and MC...

I own all of the Legend of Zelda games. Except for the CD-I games (which aren't actually official, but still Zelda games). I am still debating over whether or not I actually am going to try and find them

and of course I am excited for the new Zelda wii! If it is as good as TP then I'm sure I'll love it :)

I own LoZ, AoL, OoT, MM, WW and TP. Next stop: Zelda Wii. I normally don't buy games (they're so expensive >.<), so I'm hoping that it will live up to it's expectations. OF course, I also have a long wait ahead of me. :P

Well, once I get the Wii Points, I will be getting a Link to the Past from the Virtual Console, and of course I will get Zelda Wii. I'm basically required to for site work :P

Other than that, I basically own all the Zelda games, so I don't see a reason to get anything else.

For the first 13 years of my life i've been playin Oot then a few years ago TP but that's it
But one day my bro brought home Loz for NES on the GBA and i was like yeah it's not much of a zelda game.
I tried to play it then failed then a found Zelda Dungeon and got fully into it
for the next 3 years i've been exploring the Epicness of the zelda franchise putting my abilities to complete every zelda game (sep fan made)

Currently I've got
VC: Aol, ALttP, Oot(win), and MM
Wii: TP
GBA: LoZ
Wii GCN: WW
DS: PH, ST
EMU: LA XD, OoS/A
Yet to Find: Minish Cap

I want to buy a DS soon so that I can play the DS zelda games that I've not already played.

I bought Link: Gezichten van het kwaad (dutch version of one of the cd-i zelda games). I might get a cd-i sooner or later, since they are not super expensive in the netherlands. As for the reason I bought it....it is one of the three zelda games with Dutch voices :P

The last Zelda game I bought was Twilight Princess. I'm planning to get Spirit Tracks soon, or by the other version of Twilight Princess for the Wii, since I have the gamecube version. I just bought brawl two days ago though, so I'm going to have to save up though. I'll definitely be getting Zelda Wii the first day it's out or around that time.

I do have the money to buy The Minish Cap, which I really want. So I think I'll look around on Amazon, Gamestop or Ebay today to see how much it would cost.

Oh yes. A couple weeks ago I was browsing a new game store that happened to sell only older games. I was really excited when I found Link's Awakening. I'm currently playing that and it is awesome. There's NOTHING like the feeling of getting a new Zelda game and playing it for the first time.

Well, let's see...
I've found Link's Awakening DX for 100 pesos (local currency), a japanese version of A Link To The Past (GBA) in an auction which finishes the 3/7 (7th of March), and an english version of A Link To The past (GBA) which comesa with a Gameboy SP, so I'll just ask if I can buy ALTTP without buying the Gameboy SP.

My older bro's trying to get a Wii (we're all in it, but I just don't think it's going to be so easy), after that you can take a guess on what We'll get, but we already have the first two 3D games on project 64. Well, does emulation count? I'm looking for a wind waker ROM

Flagpole
03-01-2010, 05:58 PM
No, in this thread emulation doesn't count, because it is about if you are buying (and getting) any Zelda games.

Tomorrow I'll get Link's Awakening DX :D Though I have a collection of 3 (tomorrow 4) Zelda games, I'm very proud of it, especially when i get a new Zelda game into my collection!

There are still games from the Legend of Zelda series which haven't entered our collection. The DS Lite that we had is beyond repair, with problems more complicated than simply replacing the housing shell, or else Spirit Tracks would have been added by now. We also need Four Swords Adventures and Oracle of Seasons. Out of the three we are missing, so far the biggest concern is acquiring Four Swords Adventures and Oracle of Seasons, since we actually have the systems to play these games. Of course, this is simply by counting the titles. We do not have any of the games on the Virtual Console, which has been contemplated in the past. Aside from that, and the other versions for other consoles, there are only three games left to collect. :)

I do not receive any Zelda games lately I only miss Zelda 2 and OoX so I will buy Zelda 2 on the wiiware quite soon and I will try to find the oracle games but it becomes rarer as the time passes so I will quite certainly pass a hard time trying to find 'em...

lol i went to a wild party last night outside of town and after waking up and chilling out for a while i noticed my friend had a gold AoL cart. I got really excited and when i reminded him that he lost my season of that 70's show he said i could just have it. I'm here in my room now just admiring the game. I don't have a real NES but i can always play AoL on my GCN, computer or PSP but it's nice to know that i have the genuine Nintendo game. Something i never got as a kid and it's awesome because i really appreciate it. Thanks Max!!!

You know how much I hate you right now?:P

But no, I'm not getting any Zelda action right now. But I would really love to get a hold of the Oracle games and Link's Awakening DX, but they are too expensive or not in good shape when I see them on Amazon.:puppy:

But I do plan on finally playing Spirit Tracks, passing Wind Waker, starting a Link to the Past, and passing Majora's Mask soon. The only thing stopping me from getting to those games are all my other games I'm playing and need to get to.:(

And I also plan on getting Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time 3DS on release date.

I don't imagine myself getting any Zeldas soon. I do, however, still have another 1600 points on my Wii, I think it's time I download LoZ and AoL. Most of the older console Zeldas I have to download(I already have OoT, MM and ALttP on there).
Then I'll have all of the console titles excluding FSA(which I can not seem to find, same with Wind Waker) The only ones I have trouble on how to get are the Gameboy ones(FS, LA and the Oracles to be exact, I never had a Gameboy/Colour).

Oh, and can't forget the new games coming out. I most likely won't get a 3DS on/around launch, so I won't get OoT3DS for a while. But I will do my best to get Skyward Sword at launch.

Well just yesterday I downloaded A Link to the Past off the Wii Shop Channel, and I still have The Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link on there that I haven't finished, and a few weeks ago a girl from my school game me The Minish Cap (She also used to have an original copy of Link's Awakening but she threw it out because it was too hard for her D:) so I've got plenty of Zelda goodness to last me until Skyward Sword and the 3DS come out ^-^

The only ones I can't find are Link's Awakening and the Oracle games <.<

bradley
08-27-2010, 12:27 PM
I have all of them but the Four Swords series, and I am currently playing through Link's Awakening on an emulator. IMO emulation is not out of the question for games that are old and very hard to obtain.

But I will be getting Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time 3D when they come out.
