So yeah...I just got Wind Waker, and I realized...it's a LOT like Animal Crossing. The art style being the biggest one, plus the music, and a ton of other stuff too. (Like needing a password to get in the pirate ship during your second visit to Outset. Redd?)...am I the only one that noticed the similarities?

Well, when you consider the fact that Animal Crossing was released only a year before WW was, there can be some similarities. However, I do have a bit of doubt that these titles are similar in some way. If you did not do your homework, Animal Crossing was supposed to be on the N64DD, but it was a failure in Japan and never released in North America. The password thing has been used in several titles before, such as in MM, in which that password was obtained via a "side-quest" and then used later on in the game.
Now, artstyle, I can kinda see where you're going. However, there's a bit of a significant difference. AC used a bit more detail, yet WW used more advanced techniques (blur as you get further away, massive draw distance, etc.) for visuals. Remember, Animal Crossing was supposed to be a N64 game.

Oh, another thing I remember noticing was how treasure in the sea looks veeery similar to the glowing spots on the ground in the original AC. <_<
And I was referring to it being similar to the Animal Crossing SERIES, not just referring to the first game. The art style is the biggest similar thing they share. I just get the feeling that they both were done by the same people. Dunno if it's just me or what.

In my opinion the graphics in WW are more techniqued like larger pictures and things like that. They are both good games but are different in many ways. The password thing was also used in MM for the bomber gang or whatever there name is lol.

The graphics may be similar, since the original Animal Crossing was released on the Nintendo 64 back in 2000 (only in Japan, though). I haven't played Wild World or the Gamecube one, but I don't think Animal Crossing is exactly cell-shaded, like how Wind Waker is. These two games are VERY different, so it seems odd to compare them as "similar".
