i was playing through minish cap yesterday, and i beat the temple of droplets. i must say, it was the weirdest dungeon ever. for one, you get the boss key almost right away, and most of the temple is on the other side of the boss door. not to mention the constant use of the gust jar in one wing of the temple. however it was still fun, probibly the best temple in the game.

Ohh, yes. The Temple of Droplets is my favorite dungeon of the game, and one of my favorites out of the whole series. Odd huh?
Yeah, I suppose it was. It was pretty unique what they did with the boss key, that's for sure. They did that in the next dungeon, the Palace of Winds, too, although you got the boss key further in; it wasn't right at the beginning. Anyway, I've noticed some of the recent games pulling odd tricks like that, such as in Twilight Princess where it tends to give you the Compass towards the end of a dungeon, but in Snowpeak Ruins they gave it to you in order for you to find a hidden chest you wouldn't have known was there.
Anyway, I didn't find it too odd how much you used the Gust Jar. I suppose it is a bit considering you've barely used it since Deepwood Shrine, but it makes sense as it's the only other dungeon with water, and that whole "push a lily pad along with your Gust Jar" thing is only possible in water dungeons... and Minish-sized dungeons.
I think oddest dungeon ever I'd have to hand to Jabu Jabu's Belly... maybe more so how it was in Master's Quest than in Ocarina of Time. In MQ, you use cows lodged into the walls as switches. :P

Temple of Droplets was one of the more awkward ones in the game. Like you said, you get the boss key right away, and you could even see the element, and the boss as soon as you unlocked the door. And then you had to go through half the temple just to unfreeze half of octo, and the element. That was one of the most awkward dungeons that i've played.
