Okay so with the season premiere of one of my favorite tv shows last week I got thinking: what do my fellow ZD members think of the Mythbusters? Now for those of you who don't know Mythbusters is a science based reality tv showin which a team of scientists put various urban myths and such to the test and deem them busted (can't happen), Plausible (might happen might not happen), or Confirmed (can happen if the right circumstances aree met). It's really funny and often includes jokes on the part of the Mythbusters (the scientists that test the myths). It also has a lot of stuff that's fun to watch like explosions and trust me it's funny. Here's a clip.

Entertaining isn't it? And on top of that it has actual educational value too. You can see it on the discovery channel and currently they pump out a new episode every Wednesday at 9:00 PM. What do you think of it? 'It's exactly like the smaller one but bigger!' XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD!!!! Yeah but it isn't just Adam Savage and Jamie. There are other mythbusters. They're all introduced in the show's intro.

Also they tend to tackle different myths at different times. Here's a clip of the myth they tested last week called 'knock your socks off' and it's one of several idiom myths they've done.

Nice isn't it? If you want to see full episodes go to http://www.mythbustersepisodes.com/

I'm a longtime fan.

I think my favorite recent episode has been the big Lego ball. That was funny.

A friend sent me this link that pretty much boils down Mythbusters to it's basic form.

I like watching Mythbusters. It's fun to see the wacky and crazy things they do. Caleb's little brother LOVES it.

Mythbusters is one of my favourite shows!! I love it! The myths themselves are almost always interesting and they sometimes have an unexpected truth (something that looks plausible isn't, and vice versa), plus the show can be absolutely hilarious at times ("Am I missing an eyebrow?", the various drunk tests they have done to name a few).

I love Mythbusters! But I am not inlove with it eg. I don't own the series or am desperate to see a new episode released tomorrow etc. but I like just watching it when it's on. :)

Mythbusters is always fun to watch, but now that I'm in uni I don't get to watch it that often.

I love to watch Mystbusters, but sadly, it's never on TV when i'm around.
They ALWAYS decide to show it when, i'm at school or when i'm out with friends -.-

Dang it was kinda stupid of me to think that someone here didn't know about the mythbusters.

Dang that pegged the mythbusters method perfectly. You use the usual scientific method for testing the myth, add some classic mythbusters merriness, and end it by blowing your test subject up (assuming it's dead/not alive).

I watch it all the time! Very entertaining, one of the good shows left on the Discovery Channel.

This is probably one of the best shows ever and by far the best one on Discovery. It's funny, with Adam, Jamie, and the voice over guy, and it's just so entertaining. This is why:

Oh man Mythbusters is hilarious. It's just stupidly entertaining to watch, I need to catch up on more of the new season xD

My favourite episode is probably the one where they blew that cement mixer to pieces. There was shrapnel and bit of metal hanging from nearby trees, and the mixer was just... gone. xDDDDD (coincidently, it was the first episode I ever saw o.O)
I also love the episode where they tested if buttered toast always lands buttered side down, and they build this huge conveyor belt designed to drop toast xD And of course when they screamed at plant to see if affected their growth, and when Adam and Jamie trained goldfish to swim through hoops to test their memories. (Adam *in resigned voice*: "Mine are eating their own poo...")
If I have time later, I might find video links to some of those... but in answer to your original question- mythbusters ftw.

It's a lot more interesting and wholsome than some of the other shows on TV and while all the real action in the show happens behind a glass window or from a distance, most of what they try to do is still really interesting. I watch it, but at the same time I hate tv (except for a select few shows, Blue Mountain State is one of the shows on that small list) so I don't turn it on to often, it's only when someone else is watching it that i'll take a look at it these days. It's just so polluted with Commercials and garbage shows. But Mythbusters is acceptable.

Although this show is hilarious and interesting, I personally think it's a bit more than that. This show represents how scientific study should be conducted, to be honest. I love watching this show, because they're always logical in their experiments, and they test them multiple times against control tests to find a conclusion. There's your scientific method right there, put in a fun way.

I loved that show. It was entertaining, exciting, explosive, Hilarious and educational(sort of). Some of the myths they have busted, proved confirmed and plausible are done perfectly, Though sometimes they do some myths and test them the wrong way, I tend to send feedback on them. They do things scientifically and logically and even state some hypothesis about what will happen based from the usage of a myth or just plain guess for the heck of it. I love explosions in the show, that's a way to end, With a BIG Bang of flames rising up and then what's left of the explodee.

One of my favorite episodes are the Vodka Myths, Cowboy myths or anything that involves blowing buster up to bits or anything that explodes and causes mass LOLs or educating results, like you could escape from jail by the use of sheets, or hair.

I love watching the Mythbusters. I love how they do small scale tests, but when they go full scale the complete opposite result happens. The one myth I didn't like them doing was the Hindenburg myth. I am very sensitive when it comes to the Hindenburg and having them try to answer how it burned so fast angered me a little. Other then that, they are awesome.

It's very entertaining, my dad used to watch it when I was little and would watch it with him. And my brother gone through a Myth Buster phase where all he would watch when we would go on car trips was myth busters. I like it and I wonder if it's still on my dad's lap top...

Well, I never could enjoy them that much because I'm a chemistry student, that makes most of the experiment outcomes predictable for me. And even worse, some of them are fake, like the alkaline metal/bathtub of water experiment.

Mythbusters, eh? I don't watch it often, but I do tend to turn it on whenever I see it and nothing else catches my eye. I think it's a wonderful show, and how they conduct their experiments. They put a lot of thought into it and figure what went wrong and try to improve on it until they get it right, or until they determine that it's busted. I've always enjoyed the show, mainly because I love to see things blow up. Things like shooting propane tanks through solid stone walls and then partway through another one, shooting cannons, duct tape boats, cannons, and everything in-between. I mean, you just can't pass up a cannon made entirely out of duct tape.

It's a great show with a great crew. They are mindful of their audience and realize that most aren't scientists. Considering that the show is motivated by defeating common myths and superstitions, they do a brilliant job at entertaining their viewers in a way that is both friendly and educational. For years now they've been showing to the general public the truth behind some very old tall tales. In the more recent years, they've been promoting science and skeptical thinking off the show as well. Frequently they visit universities, attend gatherings for skeptics, and participate in podcasts by small societies to throw in additional humanist perspectives that aren't expressed on the show. They're using all sorts of methods to get people interested in science and curious, which I absolutely love.

Oh boy!! I love great Adam the most!!! He is so funny!!! I do love it when Jamie cheats. Like with the teeth comparisation and of course with the car when he switched numberplates. And I like Kari as well. They have ridiculous myths to busts but they are doing everything whatever they can to show it is busted or confirmed. Mythbusters never fail to amaze me

Good old Mythbusters. One of the only good shows on TV. Same with everything else on Discovery.
