I'm not sure which is better. The GBA version includes the Four Swords game. The VC is cheaper and has better sound quality. BTW the Super NES version doesn't count.

Are we talking about literally which is the superior game to play, or which should be bought? I suppose the GBA is superior to play if you want the most content since it's got added material, but overall I would say the VC is the better play since it's a port of the original.

Why doesn't the Super NES version count? I would say it's the best way to experience the game even over the VC since it's on the original system it was built for, and the controls are tailored to the SNES controller. Plus it's just best for a retro feel to play it on the system it was released on, but maybe I'm showing my age a bit...

Unless you've got 3 other friends with LttP and GBA's and a connector cord, you can't play FS.

I'm talking about which should be bought. I don't have a Super NES, so I eliminated that version.

I think that the best should be...
The VC version. It's the best because you feel like you're playing in the SNES.
I only played it once in the SNES and in the VC, but I can assure you that they feel better than the GBA version. The screen is so very tiny...

But the added material in the GBA version is good, too. You just buy the one you find easier to get.

I don't have the VC version yet. I've always had the GBA one that I played on my Gamecube Converter. I only played the SNES version once and it was at a hotel. That was the first time I played that game. But yeah the wii one is an emulated version of the original, so overall I would play the wii one over the GBA one.

Very good! Sorry, I thought it was just a general opinion question, so I thoguht you were harshing on the SNES! LOL! So, SNES Aside, I'd still get the VC over the GBA just because it's a "true-to-the-original" experience.

The GBA one is very slightly edited. One of them is the sound effects Link makes. Ever realize the ones he makes are ones from Ocarina of Time? ;)

Well while the GBA version is more expensive, has worse sound quality, and really has a useless game unless you have four friends with GBAs and a copy I say the GBA version is superior. The reason is because if you save in a dungeon in the GBA version and turn it off and then start playing again you can start from where you entered the dungeon. In the VC version you can't.

Don't you mean Gameboy player?

I would say the VC tops the GBA version, (but the SNES version rules all simply because it's ON the SNES :P). I say VC over GBA because the GBA version has sounds in it that are not in the original: Link falling down a hole, money, keys unlocking doors.

AlttP is my fav. Zelda game and I love it for reasons making it classical, and the GBA version takes some of that away.

Yeah. Eventually I'm going to buy all of the classic zeldas for the VC. The VC version is more-to-the-original. I need to play that game again, maybe a rom.

I just found out that the Four Swords game included is multiplayer-only. Nintendo should have at least created a single player mode for it. I have my mind set on the VC version. Only $8 as opposed to $15.00. I'm definately not getting the GBA version

I def. understand your point with the multiplayer-only aspect. But I really would not let that get in the way of buying it. A. I'm going to be playing my favorite Zelda game anywhere I want! and B. atleast I say i own this game, and maybe, hopefully, one day I will find another whom I can play with.

The only advantage to the GBA game is the ability to play that game portably.

Well as far as I know the GBA version only has an ever so slightly edited backstory (snes/vc has wise men in the bs GBA has sages in the bs) and extraquests no it doesn't (unless you count the temple of the four sword). So there.

Yes there are extra quests in the gba version. Theres the palace of the four sword(Not really a quest), if you complete four swords with ten medalions then you get the riddle quest, at the end of it you get the hurricane blade(a really awesome move).
Hope this helped.

I never played FS, and judging from FSA and MC, I probably won't like it. Also the GBA's "start you off at the beginning of the dungeon you saved in" thing, just takes away from the challenge factor. Besides, on VC you could just use the suspended play thing with the Home button. I'll just call'em save states since it's kind of similar.

I only play GBA games on a DS making the Four Swords game comepletely useless.

I have the GBA version, and yes it does seem heavily edited compared to the snes version. Unless you don't want to play Zelda on the go, then I'd go with the VC version because its truer to the original.

However, i plan on getting the cart because I still have my snes.

The GBA version has a lot more fetures than the SNES version had, like palace of the four swords, and such. Although the VC is the closest you can get to actually playing it on the SNES, even though I actaully have the game on the SNES, I tend to play GBA version a lot more.....
