View Full Version : The Wind Waker Wind Waker Create an Island
Here is where you get to add one island to the sea chart!(not really...) and then you give me some details about it.Here is mine for example:
I would create an island that features enemies and challenges.I would call it firefight Island. You could go into secreat caves etc...

I would have liked to see in island like the lost woods in LoZ where if you sail away from it you come back on the other side of the sector...and then you have to follow a specific pattern to escape

Oh, really, I can create one? Ok...
I'd like to create an island that is surrounded by the sea. It would be located in the middle of the map, and it serves as a hideout of some sorts, you know, for pirates.
If I could be in the game, I'd be known as Miss Detra, Tetra's twin sister, and I'd own the island and a fair amount of good for nothing seadogs.
There would be barrels against the hideout's walls, and the hiding place would be a huge tower, heavily guarded. Also, there would be caves around the place and lots of trees, sorta like a forest. We would have a training facility and many things in the island, and my ship would be able to fit inside a cave.

Hehe.. This looks pretty fun.
My Island would be another town. Because they need another one. It would be fairly small, maybe just a bit bigger then Windfall, and it would be like a tropical island. At first, when you got to the island, it would just look like a dense jungle, and you would have to go into. It would be completely free roaming on the island. There would be no paths. The goal is to find you're way to the town.
The town itself would be built around a sort of cove. It would be a very compact town. With two story buildings, cobblestone roads, cafes, many shops and harbor. The shops would sell every item in the game. And some new items. One shop would be called "The Treasure Shop". This shop would sell items in the game. Dungeon items... This is because of the secret optional dungeon on the island.
Deep underground in the catacombs of the bustling town above, lies the Fog Temple. The ultimate test for Wind Waker Link. This temple would be very hard. It would be full of lots of undead creatures, and it would be made as scary as possible. There would be one creature, known as a... Well the name is pending. But it would be a massive undead bug, and it would be to steal items for you're inventory. Hence the Treasure Shop. These bugs would come up for multiple reasons. If you've been in one place to long, before a key and things like that.
The dungeons item would be.. The Video Camera. It's like another upgrade to you're Pictobox, but it is a completely different item. Of course you can use it to take video. Up to a certain length of course. It would be fun.. Right? Anyway, the items use in the dungeon would be that it can see Ghosts, or Spirits or whatever you want to call them. Sort of like the Lens of Truth, but much more epic.
The boss would be.. A joke. It would be a giant Mudkip. That can fly and shoot lazers out of it's eyes.. Freeze lazers.. (Someone Sig that..)
Not really. The boss would be a giant Redead/Stalfos/Gibdo/Poe crossover. And it would hate you. Once you beat the boss in some undetermined way, you would get a choice between two things. Either left or right. Left would be the ability to change to colour of you're tunic. Any colour you can imagine. There is no difference to the colours. They all do one thing. Give you a new magic arrow. The arrow would be the same colour as you're tunic, and it would cost no magic to use. And it would do one of four things. Either it would have the effects of a fire arrow, an ice arrow, or a light arrow. OR. It would have a super special effect. It would just do more damage then regular or fire arrows. Or light arrows. Also.. It would change the enemies colour to the colour of you're arrow/tunic.
Now right. Choosing right would allow you to choose on of four characters to ride around on you're boat with you. Either Tetra, Aryll, Makar, or Medli(SP?).
Yup. My island is epic.. To bad it will NEVER happen..

Your island would of looked awesome in the game. As to you saying it wont ever happen, that is why there are rps. I love them, I get to invent whatever I want and believe that the rp is real.
By the way, are there any rps here? (Goes to look)

My island would be rather large and somewhat out-of-the-way. It would be comprised of large, dead plains and jagged mountain ranges, which would contain a number of large, explorable caves.
The island would contain a large, ancient graveyard, with thousands of graves. It would be inhabited by a variety of demonic and dead creatures, as a well as a distant relative of Tingle.
hmm... i would make some short of castle, a big castle with lots of chalenges, lots of puzzles and lots of enemies, that would be a real chalenge!

My island would be a mediun-sized island with a tower on it, an optional dungeon. It would also have a long cave to get a key to open it with tough puzzles and powerful enemies. It would give you a key, and the tower would be even harder than the cave with horribly hard puzzles and overpowered enemies. If you conquered the tower you would get a incredibly powerful sword upgrade for the master sword. Just an idea....

I would have liked Spectacle Island to have more detail than just two points sticking out. Spectacle Rock is known throughout the Zelda series as part of Death Mountain and the most dangerous place at DM as well. I would have enjoyed a hidden temple deep inside the island somewhere.

Heh, yeah. They should have done more with that classic location.
If I were to make an island, it would be massive. As big as the sea with tons of ground to run around on. It would have tons of dungeons and enemies and adventuring. And I would call it "What This Game Should Have Had More Of Island." :xd:
But seriously? Hm...
I would probably create a larger island with a lot of flat ground to run around on. It would have a lot of enemies and hidden areas, allowing you to get secrets as you progress through the game. Beneath the island would be an underground maze with even more secrets and trials, and it would function like an optional mini-dungeon. I would call it "Enigma Island."
That or a ghostly island with a graveyard and mansion, infested with the undead. That sounds more bad-***. :P

Undertow Island. This island is essentially a tropical island area with a tribal race living oni its heights. I was thinking maybe a Rito offshoot or something, but I don't know. Anyway, the main point of this island is the strong currents that circle the island. These will pull your boat at high speeds while holding R to cruise, but putting up your sail will push you out of the currents. After solving whatever dungeon/minidungeon/trial on the island, the white arrows will open up as supercurrents- places where the water is moving so quickly that your boat is shot away from the island at speeds of up to six map squares a minute! Needless to say, the boost provided by these currents is a speedy way to get around the sea.
You can only land at the southern beach, and can't reach the rest of the island until you have the Hookshot, which allows you to grapple your way up the palm trees that sit atop the high cliffs next to the beach. The cave that runs underneath the island sets you right on course to the circular current, but this requires bombs to open- not an obstacle so much as an expense and a bit of interactivity. The four islands split the current and house signposts showing which way you're being flung, as well as housing several huts and a few NPCs.
So yeah, I'll describe this in better detail later, but I think WW could have benefited from currents to speed Link around the sea.

this should be fun, I would have a flat island, normal in any way, except its not. Once you revive the master sword, you stick it in the middle and a giant tower will appear before you. With 100 levels, and it will take you above the clouds, and into space, which will give you the galaxy blade. twice as powerful as the master sword, and you can create 1 portal . kind of like a huge farores wind

I'd have a more urban island, with a population similar to Windfall Island. It, however, would be based on Venice, with canals. You could take a ride on some of the passing boats to get to certain places and there'd be bridges and maybe even a temple.

I would have an island that is like the cave of ordeals from Twilight Princess. It would have the hardest enemies of the game and if you made it to the end you would fight all of the bosses and you would have no way of getting more items (arrows or bombs). On the final floor you would only get the item needed to beat the boss and no fairies. Of course for the normal enemies would get fairies every 20 floors.

...An island where you can power up your sword and edit Link's color scheme would be nice. The sword should be able to turn gold and be stronger (ala aLttP) and I can't be the only one who gets bored of Links standard green tunic, blonde hair, brown boots, and such. I'd like to be able to change the color scheme and possibly have certain color changes boost stats.

my island would be called tallmount island. it would be a small round island, but super tall, taller than tower of the gods. it would be a unclimbable cliff, requiring use of the hookshot to get to the top. it is terrorized by cargoroks, bemos, and miniblins. at the top there would be a temple called cliffcave temple. it woulds be 3 rooms, the entry room, the boss room, and the main room. the main room would be a pit that spans 7 to 8 floors. instead of a floor it would have a bottomless pit, and you would have to climb ledges to explore. the boss would be a giant, rock spitting bird.

My island would be called Graveyard Island. It would have all the graves of any Hylians from the past, and Royal Family Members. You could enter some of the graves and there would be a lot of different puzzles down there. Some enemies on the island would be stalfos, and redeads. The Islands shape would of course, look just like a gravestone. One more little thing. There would be a little frame or something with a piece of paper, and would keep track of how many enemies you kill during the course of the game.

My island would be a huge upgrade of Ice island, Called "Sheer Cold Island".
It would start with a big area of snow, drowned it harsh hail and ice. To make it through the harsh ice field, Link would have to use the fire arrows to clear a path. Once you make it through the ice field there's a clearing with calm fluffy snow everywhere. In this area there's a small village inhabited with Anouki people, west of the Anouki village there would be a Yook village. Underneath the Anouki village there's a whole different land with a lake inhabited with Zoras. The main point of the island is the large mountain north of the Anouki village. The mountain is very large and hard to climb and at the peak of the Mountain there is a temple of ice and water. On the island there's lots of side quests and stuff like that, but I cant think of any sidequests right now
Oh and my island would have every single enemy in the zelda series that has to do with water and ice. I'll post more Islands when I think of more.

My island shall be called " Goddess Rock Island "
The lay out is.. an island going straight up(similar to the tower of gods) to where a rock lays. If the person is able to destroy ALL of the creatures that block the path to the top, the rock shall pass, and the price of doing so is great. However, if the person dies...the island dissapears and will only re-appear if you have beaten Ganondorf.

I would create an island a tiny bit smaller than Outset Island. It's name would be "Hero's Island" You would get there after you beat Ganon. It would be vast, and filled with enemies. After you got through all of the enemies, there would be a hole in the ground, which is sort of like the Cave of Ordeals in Twilight Princess, which in Wind Waker there is a version of it called the Savage Labyrinth.
In that hole which is just like the Savage Labyrinth, there would be 100 floors, which would be quite a challenge for most people, so you'd have to store up on bottles with fairies and potions. At the beginning you would pick up a light sword, which is the only item that can hurt the enemies on the floor. The floors will feature regular enemies from the game, so there will be no suprises for new enemies.
At the end of the tunnel/hole there would be an entirely new boss. The boss would be cell-shaded Darklink, which would be arguably just like the dark link from Ocarina of Time. Dark Link would mimic your moves and try to defeat you. The only item that effects him is the Light Sword. Once he has been defeated he will disappear and you will be granted the Triforce.
Then after that, you would have beaten the game, because this battle comes after Ganon.

Well, I went out of my way to render what my impression of an island would be in about 10 minutes. The name of the island is Morst Island. Very simple, where it is a small island that has a lake. However, it has a forest in the center of the island with a secret enterance. Once you get into the forest, there are quite a few enemies waiting for you. Then, it is a bit of Lost Woods as you then climb up a mountain to another patch of woods. This patch of woods on the top of the mountain would serve as a mini-dungeon where you could get a heart container or something like that. It is a fairly simple design and such. ;)

I'd create an expert arcade island which can only be accessed when the game has been completed 100%.
Basically, in SSBB there is an option where you can fight all the bosses from the Sub Space Emissary.
Well, I would do the same here... a dungeon where you fight bosses from previous games and they have all been remastered into cel shaded graphics!
I mean some of the absolute classics!
Obviously, you needed special items for alot of the bosses that you don't have in WW, but hey it was just a suggestion.

I think a small city would be cool. Windfall was pretty good itself. I think if it had some more mini-games it would be even better. Maybe have another part of the island that is less hospitable with a few enemies or something. Maybe even some areas to explore. It would probably be a large island.

Well, my idea is one called Ivory Isle.
It would have an ivory tower in the center that was actually a college filled with various academic sorts who are very condescending towards Link due to his status as a "barbaric sword-slinger." A retroactive change to Sturgeon's room to include a diploma from Ivory Isle University. One of the professors asks Link if he wants to be tested, hinting that he expects him to fail.
If he accepts, the first challenge would be given by the Dungeon Architecture teacher. The teacher would offer a few critical remarks on the static and linear nature of most existing dungeons, and emphasizes how much an element of randomness would throw off potential adventurers. It would consist of a randomly chosen Sokoban-style puzzle (out of three possible iterations), that had to be solved within 10 minutes. If Link failed, he'd get one of the other puzzles next time (eventually they would repeat, but you'd never get the same one twice in a row).
After passing that challenge, you move on the Economics teacher. This teacher would criticize how unrealistic it is to consistently charge the same prices, and talk about how a clever businessman would respond to the market. You would be given 100 "play rupees," and told that in order to pass the test, you have to finish with at least 100 Rupees and a Red Potion. There will be three vendors that all sell the same three items... Red Potion, Bombs, and Arrows (not real ones). One vendor (Kyle) would be selling the Red Potion for 20 rupees, the bombs for 5 rupees, and the Arrows for 10 rupees. Another vendor (Louis) is selling the Red Potion for 40 rupees, the bombs for 10 rupees, and the arrows for 20 rupees. The third vendor (David) would sell Red Potion for 60 rupees, the bombs for 15 rupees, and the arrows for 30 rupees. Each of them will buy your items for half of whatever they're selling it for. Merchants you buy items from raise their prices on the next turn, while merchants you sell to lower their prices. If one merchant sees the other two raise or lower prices, they'll follow suit. A possible solution would go like this: buy bombs from each of the merchants for 30 rupees. Not only will they all raise their prices by 5 rupees, but they'll all see that each other increased prices, and they'll all raise their prices by an additional 5 rupees. Now it will cost 60 rupees to buy bombs from each merchant again, but pay it anyway. You're 90 rupees in the hole, but they all increase their bomb prices by 10 rupees again. Now sell ALL your Bombs to David for 102 rupees, who will lower his prices by 5 rupees. You've got 112 rupees now. Now buy arrows from Kyle and Louis for 30 rupees. They'll increase their prices by 5 rupees, and David will follow suit. Buy more arrows from Kyle and Louis for 40 rupees, and they'll all increase their arrow prices another 5 rupees. If you now sell all your Arrows to David, you'll make 80 rupees and have 122 rupees. Simply buy a Red Potion from Kyle for 20 rupees, and talk to the teacher to win the game (but think how hard it would be to figure out a solution through trial and error).
The last challenge would be from the Arcane Psychology teacher. He'll tell you that you need to confront your unconscious in order to grow as a person, but tell you that there are risks. If you accept, he'll hypnotize you. After you go under, you'll see Dark Link. But you won't be able to reach him because he'll move from right in front of you, to the other side of a maze-like dungeon. This Maze will have keys, switches, and block puzzles much like a normal dungeon, only there will be two differences. One is that you'll need to use ALL of your items in this dungeon, often very close together. It will be shorter than a typical dungeon, but a lot more confusing. and will also have a lot of mechanical traps similar to the Shadow Temple (in lieu of enemies). After you get through it, you'll finally confront Dark Link. He'll be able to use all of your items, so it won't be an easy fight. After you beat him, he'll reveal what the teacher wanted you to learn about yourself... that he is actually a part of yourself that you've rejected, but that he's not entirely evil (though he contains a lot of your unconscious evil side). After this, you'll awaken from the hypnotic state and tell the teacher what you learned. You'll then be sent to the Head Professor.
The Head Professor will congratulate you, though he'll also express a certain degree of disappointment that a non-student was able to complete all of the tests. He'll say that he wishes he could give you a diploma, but that he can't do that unless you pay the tuition and attend classes, which you don't have the time or money to do. So instead, he'll give you some magical knowledge as a recognition of your ability. You'll have a choice between an upgrade that halves the amount of magic that spells cost (like in ALttP), and a new spell very similar to Din's Fire from OoT (though it would be called "Magic Flames" and have an icon that looked like an orange version of the Magic Armor icon).

i have a sorta good idea...ok here it is. it would be called dusk island and when you arrive there you would find a path, two giant boulders, ad some switches which you would have to press in a certain order to get a small key. right next to the switches would be a huge field of poisonous smoke and you would have to go through a certain path to get past the smoke kinda like the lost woods. then you would arrive at two different paths. One would lead you into a underground tunnel with five locked gates and a path to a village. and the other one would lead you up on a hill and on top there would be a hole which when you go inside you would fight a mini boss type thing
when you defeat it you will get a small key and be let out of the hole. on the far right there would be a smaller island with a bridge that connects to Dusk island and 6 floating rocks which you would have to hit in a certain order with your arrows. When you do that you will get another small key. also on the island at the moment there were two villages, on the west side there was narrow field town where you win a small key in a minigame. and on the east side of the island there is sagen village which a unconfirmed race live but at the moment you would not be able to go to the village until later in the game. and on the far west there is a mountain called turtle peak and on top there is a huge bird with a small key and now that you have all 5 keys you can unlock those locked doors which lead to the smoke temple. i havent thought it out yet but the dungeon item would be a billow and the boss would be some sort of thing made of smoke.
i am not sure if it is that good but thats my island :) :goron: :zora: :deku: :sword: :zelda: :ganondorf:

For my island, i would make an island, called Portal Island where there is a portal to the Lost Woods leading to a land called Hymina (A combination of Termina and Hyrule.)there would be the ghosts of bosses from Ocarina of Time (Yay! No Water Temple!), and Majora's Mask in new temples, and finally leading up to a combination of Majora's Wrath and Ganon, called Majanon.
Not creative, but the temples would be all new.

There is forest on the south (where you enter the island), a desert region in the south-west, a lake in the south-east, an ice cavern in the north-east, an area filled with darkness in the north-west, and a fire-pit in the north. In the center, there would be a tower which would lead you to the skies. In each of the 7 themes, there would be a puzzle as well as some enemies related to the theme, and the grand prize would be the Bombos Medallion. It destroys all enemies within a certain range (it uses magic).
My Island: :D

Mine would be called hideout island, it is about the size of bomb island with a big rock as tall as needle island with a lot of darknuts patrolling aroud. There will be a latter next to it and at the top you will find a house with a man that seems rather old. In the house there will be weapons on one side and books on the other. The man says he will give you something if you beat him in combat. He is incredable hard. Think of the hardest thing you have ever done in a video game. Thats him. If you some how manage to beat him, he realve him to be zordo, orca and sturgent's brother. He will also give you a book that can be used. If you read it, you will be aloud to play Oot, but in cel shaded forum. Oh and zordo's figurane says after he was betrayed by his brothers, he used magic to make this rise up from the sea and made darknts patrol there so he would not have to see his brothers ever again.
EDIT: and you get navi.

I like this topic! It has been fun to read the previous pages.
My island would be called "Festival Island." Its seasons would change so that you see each of the four seasons as you approach it for the first time from any direction, and after that, the season you see depends on the direction from which you entered the sector. The island would not be very big, but large enough to have some residents, including a shrine owner. There would also be lots of people celebrating no matter when you visited.
Spring would have cherry blossoms blooming throughout the island and lots of picnickers. There would be a sidequest where you bring ingredients from various islands to help one of the people pack a "bento" (boxed lunch) and he rewards you with a piece of heart. You would also be able to take a picture for the album.
Summer would have multicolored fireflies, similar to the ones in the Forest Haven - if you caught one you could customize your pictobox as if it had various filters on it. There would be little point to this other than amusement.
Fall would have the area filled with lanterns and a stage with dancers. Link would have the opportunity to learn a traditional dance, which he could then use later in the game to get a new sword technique.
In winter, there would be ice sculptures around the island. One of them is off the Hero of Time and again Link could take a picture for the album. Link could also compete in a snowman building contest and if he wins, he gets a treasure map that leads to 200 rupees.

My island would be called Octo island. the island would be like a C, if you went into the middle (with the boat) an Octo would appear, and if you beat it (which would be hard since it would have twenty eyes) you would get *drum rolls* .....suspense is awsome!.............................. a....... yellow..... Rupee (worth ten) Mwahahahaha! Talk about pointless.

Hmm.....
Well, my island would be your after-game surprise. ;) I hate it how you get no rewards for finishing a Zelda game, so here it is!!
It would be called... umm, whatever you want to call it. I'm hopeless with names.
It would have minigames all over the place, and you could take any character you like there for a visit. Minigames would consist of shooting games, puzzle games and combat games, such as that maze with 50 floors on Outset Isle. And about the character thing... You go speak to a character at any place, and the game would ask you if you would like them to come to your island. If you select yes, the screen will go back and you will appear on the boat with the chosen character. Then you can sail away to your heart's content!
The island would be egg shaped, not too big (like an island with a town on it) and not too small (eg.Link's Oasis). It would be like a beach out the front, with a tropical rainforest in the middle with numerous boulders with codes for each one. When you learn the code and write it on the boulder, it will roll away and explode, leaving a hole with the code around the edge. Jump down the hole to find a minigame.
There you go. I am epic, aren't I? Wouldn't you have loved to see this in the game?

If I could have any island in the game, it would be Greatfish Isle, only actually there. I haven't entirely decided what it would be like, but there would be a population of Zora-like creatures that reside there.

Mine would be Duchess Akane's home. Duchess Akane is Zelda's cousin and she rules over a small island of Hanei. Hanei is about the size of Dragon Roost Island and has a mountain on it with her castle on top. It has a bunch of palm trees and rocks you can bomb to get stuff out of. When you meet Akane in her castle she gives you side quests as you become her messenger, and she can promote you through the ranks and eventually she engages Link for marriage! :O So Link can stay around on the island and get married or go out and leave his fiance at the altar. :) <3 The Island of Hanei is only accessible after you beat Wind Waker the first time, as I've always wanted an incentive to keep playing after you beat it! ;)

the island of convenience, this island has everything you need, a line of arrows to take, cabin filled with infinate respawning bombs, and even a rupee fountain. It also shows up out of nowhere whenever you're low on anything, and the only sign of life on the island is an army of cuccos, if you are ever dying becaue of a boss, the cuccos will come to take it down for you, and when you leave a dungeon, the island is suddenly right next to the island you were in

Hummmm....Not sure what I would call it but it would be cool to have some sort of huge maze. Not like the ones you crawl through, but a real, stone-walled maze. There would be smaller prizes at the various dead ends and a ton of enemies. Not all that different from the Savage Labyrinth, I guess, but without the floors. You would get some amazing prize at the end, like a Hear Container (a whole one) or an item.

I would create an island called Sturmwind Island. It would be a port town where sailors, pirates, and thieves go. There would be docks and ports for trade and commerce. The place would huge with fish markets, bars, and inns throughout.
The island's back story: The island is named after Captain Sturmwind the Gale, the fastest sailor in the Great Sea. He once faced one of the Wind Diety, Cyclos' largest cyclones, not to mention he encountered the Ghost Ship and defeated many a sea monster, and lived to tell about it. For his exploits, he goes down in history as the best pirate to ever sail the Great Sea.
How it came to be: At some point, Captain Sturmwind founds a port town on a barren, desolate island where he shipwrecks one stormy night after a bout with a Giant Octo. He and his crew members are said to have built the town themselves from the ground up - using only the wreckage from their ship. The great Captain Sturmwind names the island "Sturmwind Island" and makes it a place for all in the Great Sea to rest and recover after a long journey. Unfortunately, a once peaceful island for all becomes a hub for some rather unsavory pirates and thieves after Captain Sturmwind's death.
Characters one might encounter here include, Kane, Gummy, Dampa, and Cannon. One might even see Tetra's crew. ;)

my island would be endless island.
once you enter the island a sign would say, "no escape" and if you go beyond the sign, your boat would disappear and you're stranded, then, you'd have to battle endless amounts of darknuts, moblins, bokoblins, redeads (at night), and. right when you have 3 hearts of health left. all the enemies leave and shadow link appears to fight to the death. if shadow link is defeated, you get a major sword upgrade and your health is restored, then you keep battling darknuts until you are defeated.
an epic battle...

i would love an optional dungeon island. but i would also like to see a co-op island (with another link not tingle) where you could connect with another player and solve puzzles with each other. (like a mini 3d four swords)
Big Octo
07-31-2011, 02:39 PM
I steal Oracle of Time's idea, but it's different. Yes, it would be called Octo Island, but it's a full circle with an entrance blocked off by a gate. To open the gate, you must kill all of the Big Octos. Once you enter, the gate behind closes, ans a giant whirlpool swells. Out of the current rises a Big Octo larger than the rest, and it has a total of 24 eyes. It has different attacks, such as smashing you with its tentacles. Upon its defeat, the Octo is not dead yet, but the closed-off water in the circle begins to drain, until empty. The Great Octo shrivels up and dies on the dry ground, dropping a heart container. Hurray!
