Mine is Taylor Swift <3
My favorite songs from her is You Belong With Me and Love Story. I think that taylor swift has an amazing voice but with me listening to taylor swift is just wierd. You'd never expect it from me if you knew who i am.

I like tons of music that I wouldn't admit to my friends. Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, Aqua, some Britney Spears, etc. None of those artists or groups are "hip" really, but I still enjoy them sometimes, if for the simple "guilty pleasure" of it.

Taylor Swift's pretty good. I like Love Story. And Avril Lavigne's first album, Let Go, is fantastic. I have Aqua's first album, but it's been ages since I've listened to it. I'll admit, it is very catchy and really makes you want to dance along.

But my guilty pleasure would be J-pop/J-rock. Yeah, I don't understand what they're saying, but the music is awesome (to me, anyway). And since I'm learning Japanese, I will be able to fully understand it once I become fluent.

Other guilty pleasures include Nickelback, songs with really cheesy lyrics like some pop songs (I guess I listen more to the music than I do to the lyrics), and Linkin Park and Simple Plan around my brother (who views them as whiny emo [poop]).

It sounds a bit stupid on a forum like this, but I find listening to zelda music quite embarrasing. My friends already think zelda games are goofy, so telling them I listen to zelda music isn't a very good idea :(

Other than that I listen to 80's and 90's music which can be seen as old fashioned.

Hmm....Lets see....I have over 15 hours of Game Music on my iPod. That's about 5/8 of my iPod. Then, 3/4 of my iPod consists of orchestrations (Movie). Other than that, I have Shinedown, Queen, and a few others. Apparantly, nobody really likes the selection in my iPod (Unless it is for one of my friends who started a game music band). I don't get embarrassed by listening to the music, but some people find it degrading.

I also have some britney spears and lady gaga and stuff music on my MP3..

I listen to everykind of music(except folk and country and stuff like that), but some people don't understand that

I love game music...I mostly listen to Zelda music..Super paper mario music...and even...as well as Skull Kid...Pokemon music! I find game music addicting, yet my friends hate it...I don't enjoy most modern songs (the ones that have the beat Dun dun dund dun) But i still enjoy classical music..and most other types.
Most of my friends would find it socially degrading to listen to video game music. But once..i heard one of them humming a game song during school! I told them i heard them ...and they where so embarassed!

Caleb and I love listening to music from animes! And J-Pop. They are extremely catchy songs! That is awesome about learning Japanese. I'm jealous :)

I definitely hear you on Nickelback and Link Park. I enjoy listening to them every so often, but most people I know can't stand them anymore.

I'm notorious for hiding my taste for terrible music from my friends xD
Like a lot of us here, I listen to some music from games, namely Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Metal Gear Solid III and Twilight Princess.
As for bands I'm embarrassed to say I like, Children of Bodom, A Day To Remember, Killswitch Engage, Madina Lake, Maroon 5 and Unearth are a few of my guilty pleasures :)

I listen to a lot of music my friends don't like. Most of them are girl so they listen to pop/barbie girl music. But I listen to some metal and mostly rock. (three days grace, linkin park, metallica, my chemical romance etc I have very bad taste in music :P) I am kind of embarrassed when they ask what song I'm listening to in front of their friends... But Its okay to be yourself so I just say the song! LOL...

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I like many different types as metal, including death metal. Almost everyone of my friends thinks that metal sounds like complete crap with no musical talent... I guess that's the way I feel about what they listen to, rap. But I don't think that your taste in music makes you a good or bad person. It's just what you're interested and what your opinion is.

I have a song from Pokemon called the time has come (Pikachus Goodbye), that my friends would bug me about so much if they heard it, and Don't Go Breaking My Heart, the original version with Elton John, but my friends have heard that on my iPod and make fun of me for it

I know what you mean, when you say 'if you knew me'. My music doesnt match my personality at all. Then again, I dont follow any genre specifically whatsoever. Im like a hip hop, game music, screamo, classic rock, reggea, rap, orchestra loving person haha. Im a freeeakkk when it comes to Frank Sinatra or Aerosmith and it bugs my friends that I listen to the Kingdom Hearts theme song over and over until I fall asleep haha :P But I think its better to have a wide range of music. Taylor Swift is one of my favorites too(: Such a pretty voice, with pretty lyrics to match.

You guys remind me of myself, but less embarassing. I love game music i listen to it even thought I don't know what games its from. I really like all music (with some exceptions.) and the only time I was really embarrassed was when I was found singing and dancing to it. I was dancing and singing to sarias song, I was fine until my friend caught me.

Michael Jackson? Really? His music his so great?

But for me, my guilty pleasure would be to listen to some really pop songs, like Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and The Pussycat Dolls (They're really hot by the way). Yeah. That kind of embarrass me...

I like all kinds, but I don't get embarassed by it. For example, I'm seeing a performance of Holst's The Planets Suite in November, and the last single I bought was Sugababes - Get Sexy. Very varied!

I like to listen to Paramore. That's absolutely NOTHING like me, but I still like them.
I don't know why, though.

But I'm not so much embarrassed by it; I'm more just tired of hearing about how "lame" and "gay" they are.
I think Hayley Williams has a crazy voice. I think their guitarist has decent skill.
So whatever, you know?

Paramore's Riot album is great. People I know have only said good things about them, or haven't heard of them.

it's a rock band and my friends like to listen to singers or bands like Lady Gaga, Paramoure etc.

ya.... heh mine is a rock band that sings some lines that seem a little bit.....lame that's why i'm embarrassed. :S

Disturbed, when getting to angry, hateful parts, such as Enemy as a song or the "NO MOMMY!" part of Down with the Sickness, are a bit strange to listen to with others around.

Especially when I get that hateful look and start to mouth the words along, spit flying and teeth barred.

Honestly, no one even knows what I listen to.

So if they find out I listen to... like Disturbed per se, they'd freak out and make a big deal out of it.

I really like hardcore bands, metal bands, and even alternative bands. One thing I know my friends would be surprised I listen to, is Coldplay. They have some of the softest songs, especially compared to what else I listen to, but I really enjoy their original compositions.

Honestly, I would have thought that artists like the Backstreet Boys or Britney Spears, but I actually don't find them to be really embarassing. Then again, I only like a few of their songs. :P
The bands that are, are actually the ones I like more, like Nickelback or Green Day. Still, it's only around certain people I feel that way.

Yes.

Paramore - RIOT! (The Album)

When I go to my favourite clothes store Glik's they have Misery Business and I stop and listen to it for a minute before looking around.

And like... My friends hate that song. And that band.

I wouldn't find it embarrassing, it just makes me more different than to say we all like the same bands... I like loads of different stuff.

I'm generally not embarassed by my music, but I usually avoid listening to Korn around my friends, or showing their music to them. None of them are into metal or hard rock at all, and although they don't have a problem with other music, a couple of them heard Korn once and pretty much said,"What the hell is wrong with you?" I'll be the first to admit that they have a strange sound, so I suppose that would be my most embarassing music.

Ever since I watched Boogie Nights (awesome movie, by the way) I've developed a very unusual (at least among my age group) liking for 70's music.

Namely, "Livin' Thing" by the Electric Light Orchestra. I have an unhealthy obsession with that one.

Many game and anime soundtracks are guilty pleasures for me, I'm not embarrased by it, but apparentlly that's not what the other kids think it's 'cool.' Screw 'em. xD

I also LOVE Micheal Jackson's music among a lot of other (GOOD)pop music and Spanish/German/Japanese music, but for some reason people think Im just a straight-up Metalhead(which I am) that can't enjoy anything else.

I don't have any songs that I will not play around other people. I listen to Classical, Neoclassical, Thrash, Progressive, J-Pop, J-Rock, and Classic rock. I blast all of my songs, especially the high-pitched Japanese ones. I am not concerned with how they might think of me, everyone acknowledges me as weird any way.

Here are a variety of examples of what I blast:

Tch, gaming music is all I for a great deal of my time. Ever since downloading the Super Smash Bros Brawl tracks, I haven't had much interest in modern songs. The pure notes of video game compilations seem to have nearly taken over my appeal for lyrical pieces. I'm always seeking to expand my collection with styles of music fresh to my ears, and I've been drowning out an enormous space on my iPod with those I've already retrieved. A friend of mine also taken on a few of them. The rest of my peers either know and don't bug me about it, secretly enjoy the fact that I've taken on so many , or haven't the foggiest idea of it.

My accumulation includes Zelda, Brawl (of course), Mario, Sonic, F-Zero, Pokemon, Spyro, Metroid, Metal Gear Solid, Star Fox (incomplete), Devil May Cry, Ace Combat, Final Fantasy (incomplete), Kingdom Hearts, God of War, Golden Sun, Angry Birds (believe it or not), Bioshock, Portal, Bionic Commando, Bomberman, Call of Duty, Halo, Castlevania, Mother/Earthbound, Jak & Dexter, and loads more.

And no, I'm not going to get rid of all my other music; most of it is too ingrained in my heart for me to let it go.

One of my guilty pleasures when it comes to music is Lady Gaga. I hate most music on the top charts, but there's something about Gaga that makes her such an artist. Sure, she dresses and acts funny, but deep down, she has a magnificent voice. I don't think I've heard a Gaga song that I don't like so far, and every new single release is like Christmas for me. I hate all other pop singers on the charts (i.e. Kesha, Katy Perry), but Gaga is the exception.

Sometimes I feel awkward listening to aggressive or angry music around people who aren't like really young adults or teenagers or basically people with similar mentalities to me. My parents for example. Just feels awkward somehow, since they probably have a very different mental association for this kind of thing than I do. In particular I've been listening to a lot of the lyrical Devil May Cry music and it's all kinda... harsh. :xd:
