What's the secret to beating Helmasaur in The Dark Palace? I've been at it for over a week now.:S

YOu have to use the hammer top smash his helmet away. once its gone, strike it with your sword.

You can also use bombs to tear the helm away, after that, a jewel in his head will be revealed and you must shoot it with your bow and arrow.
On a side-note, always keep an eye to his tail

I've been hammering away and even go in with 3 fairies in my bottles but he takes me out real quick. I don't even seem to get a chunk out of his mask, is there a special way to stand when using the hammer? I don't get far with bombs either.
