Does anyone here play video games with there parents?
Are your parents into video games.
When I was little I played Super Mario Bros3 with my Dad,sadly my Dad has a epileptic condition and can't play video games anymore.
I play Mario Tennis with my Mom sometimes.
Sadly both of my parents never got into Zelda.
My Parents use to play Miss Pac-Man when they were dating.:)

Occasionally, the whole family will play bowling or golf on Wii Sports. We usually have a lot of fun, and it's something to look forward to. Heh, my dad sometimes joins me when I'm playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl as well. I'd never admit it, but he's pretty good with Diddy Kong. :D

Isn't there a thread like this.... Well there's one for something like this. In any case, I used to play the old Mario games with my dad when I was younger. Back when we lived together, that is. When I go over to my aunt's house, the whole family plays Wii Sports, and sometimes Mario Kart Wii. That's about it.

My father played Golden Eye 007 with me a few years back before my N64 crashed on me. He also plays Halo 3 with me and Super Smash Bros. My mother has never really played games... she does not even really like to use a computer ><

Sadly I have two parents who don't like games. So I never played any game with my parents. Even my wii and ds fail to get them into gaming, so all Nintendo's commercials are wrong!

Awe. I feel sorry for you Smitie. I dont want to be rude... but your parents sound like party poopers =O
My mother seemed like she might get into the DS or the Wii. She likes watching me and my father play Wii sports. But I guess she is kind of worried that she wont be good at it or something. Im not sure ><

I remember playing a hockey game on the NES with my father when I was a kiddo. That was awesome and exciting cause we were quite even. I also remember playing some racing games with my brother, I am a better gamer then him but sometimes he could make some extraordinary stuff
Itīs wonderful to play with parents and siblings, itīs awesome :)

Of course. If I do get a Wii, I bet my whole family will join in. My Mom plays Rock Band all the time with me. My dad used to play crash team racing with me.

As far as family gaming goes, it's the Wii because it is made for such a wide audience. My mom, especially, is into some of the wii games, like Wii Fit/Play (even though she doesn't actually play that much). I remember back before the Wii was released, though, my Dad had made an account in Animal Crossing. He actually thought the game was pretty cool compared to some of the other stuff there is out there today.

My father played Wii tennis with me today... sadly I got tired before he did. And I am 12 years old :<
It was funny though.. and my mother was cracking up.. Im not sure it who.. but probably my father ^^
My father used to play the Nes when we got one like 19/20 years ago, but other than that, neither of my parents play video games. The thought of a someone over 40 playing a video game boggles my mind, really.

My sister and I would watch my father play AoL in the 80's when we found it too difficult. He became really good at it, which was a bit odd since he never played a video game prior to Link. He never played another game since either!

Hm, let's see.. My dad doesn't play video games because it hurts his wrists/hands after long periods of time, and my mom plays some random games with me once in a while, but not too often.

Why does everyone have 'cool' parents that play games D:. My sister doesn't want to play any games with me because I always win -.-.

My mom used to play Pacman, but she doesn't play anymore. My dad plays some games. Mainly FPS and RTS games.
Neither of my parents are really into video games, but they have played some. As for playing with them, I play some with my dad. Mainly Halo and SSB: Brawl. These days, anyway.

When I first purchased my Wii, back when it was released, it was the first time I had actually played a game with my parents since when I was a kid. Back in the day, me and my dad would play "Baseball" on the NES occasionally, and he liked to play "Tetris" on the GB a lot.

Well neither of my parents are really "into" video games either. Back when I was younger, Id guilt my dad into playing a good ol game fo NHL Blades of Steel 99 (still one of my favorite hockey games ever). Id always beat him because he was really really bad :P. And actually not to long ago I brought my Genesis to his house and he showed some interest in Sonic 2 but never really started playing.
As for my mother, she actually plays Brain Age on my or my sisters DS. Other then that she has really never played games although she has shown some interest in GHWT and thought it would be fun to have everybody playing all at once.

Oh dear. I forgot about this... thanks for reminding me.
My parents both play Wii Sports. My mom really likes the Wii controller.

I used to play Ocarina of Time with my mom all the time. :D After we beat the game a couple times we started using our Gameshark just to have fun. We also played Yoshi's Story on Nintendo 64. It was a great game, we would take turns playing through it.

my mom used to be into videogames (she got an Atari 2600) and she used to play pac-man with my dad, but since my dad died (1996) she stopped playing videogames she plays bowling in the wii with me sometimes.

My parents are heavily into video games but my mom used to play Super Mario Bros way back in the 80's when we first bought Nintendo and we all used to play Atari.
I've played Mortal Kombat with my dad on occasion and he usually plays hockey games.

I could never get my Dad into modern gaming. He's only interested in the casual games, such as Wii Sports and Wii Fit. The only thing I can get him to play with me is his ColecoVision. Me asking to play him was the worst mistake ever. I played baseball in it, and I lost, 4-26, in the 3rd inning. He also murdered me, score wise, in Donkey Kong. I try to get him to play the N64 with me, and he says he doesn't like it, and complains of the low graphic quality (And yet he plays the ColecoVision just fine). My goal is to get him to at least play one modern game that isn't a casual game.

My mum played Phantom Hourglass and she really liked it. She is going through her second run.
My dad played Metroid and is really into the series, but he hasn't dared yet to play the Gamecube games. I hope he does sometime, because I'm sure he will like them.

My Dad rarely gets into video gaming. He says he's way too low tech. He likes Dr. Mario though on the NES and plays it on the Wii.

My parents are not into video games. AT ALL. They're still living in the stone ages, using prehistoric equipment like VHS tapes and cassettes :P
They just started using DVDs only a few years ago when I bought them a DVD player for christmas. As far as games go, though, my Mom has never passed the first level of mario, never shot a duck in Duck Hunt, never cleared a line in Tetris, etc. My dad used to play Super Mario Bros. with me back in the day when I was only 6 or 7, but it didn't take long for me to beat him. I remember one night I was freaking out because I WALKED under Bowser as super mario. Oh and we also played Paperboy.
Other than that, nope. Not much at all.

Hardly ever. My parents are too busy. I have played the odd game of Smash Bros and Mario Party with Dad, and we've all had a go at Rock Band. Mum doesn't bother with the games a lot, even though she played all the arcade classics.
Actually, maybe it's best if Mum doesn't play a game. She murdered the bongos when she played Donkey Konga, and when I tried to teach her the controls in Smash Bros, she refused to listen.

My mother has a huge issue with video games, and there is no way on this earth that she would show any type of happiness or possible smiles if we beg her long enough to try.
My father had a very old handheld game, and he was the one who bought a Sega Game Gear when I was younger. He is much more open to gaming than my mother, and for the first week of ownership of a Wii - it was his Wii. The only real games my father and I have played together are Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wii Sports, and Wii Fit (Super Hula Hoop Competition FTW). He really isn't the type of person you would want to play with though, since he is an awfully sore loser. But luckily I have one parent would enjoys the sight of video games and takes the time to play too.

My father and I used to play the original SMB together. He was terrible at it, but we enjoyed ourselves. My mother is big on games like Tetris, but any other type of game will make her physically sick. Especially 3D.

So I'm not the only one. Personally, I don't want gaming to be a family thing anyway.

My parents will play a few games on Wii Sports but sadly for me thats about it, Luckily though I have 2 brothers that play Consoles, I am not sure about the younger of my brothers but the older one will play games like Call of Duty, Timesplitters....etc.

My dad used to be big on Contra 3 back in the day. He doesn't play them much now, though, due to getting motion sickness; these "modern games" (which are anything 3D) are too fast for him.
My mom has never cared much for games, I don't think.

Back when I had game systems, me and my dad would play Soul Calibur (1, 2, and 3), Tekken (Tag Tournament, 4, 5), Smash Bros (64 and Melee!), and other fighting games such as Street Fighter. Then he relapsed into hating games because eventually, I got games of the Call of Duty and Kingdom Hearts series, both of which he hates. I hope he'll get a PS3 as Soul Calibur 5 releases sometime next year, and though I hate that game already (srsly, y wud u go 17 yrs in2 da featr??), it would be awesome to play with him some more because of the laughs we could share

The parents played games with me when they where much younger.
But as the yrs went on they lost interest in games.
I know quite a few parents who say games now are not as enjotable as they where when they where younger.

Yes! I play video games with my parents. With my mom and dad, it's usually games like Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort, but my dad also plays Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. Brawl with us. And he's actually pretty good at Brawl for a parent, it's scary.

Me and my sibs have played with our mom many times when we were kids and also as we got older on the Wii. My dad's played the Wii before with us, but he's not much of a video gamer since he pretty much has the mentality that they're a waste of time. But yeah, I have played with my folks a few times in my life and it's pretty fun when you get to play with them. But for now, it's mostly me and my sibs that play together.

Strangely, I recently read an article about how parents playing video games with their children can make a stronger bond between them at an early age, and boost their confidence, knowing that parents like what they like. I play SSBB with my brother and sister, but my parents hardly ever play. SOMETIMES I play UFC Undisputed 09 with my Dad, but that's really it.

My mom absolutely despises video games, and yet her and my dad bought me an N64 for my first birthday so I could start working on my "hand/eye coordination". I don't buy it. I think my dad just wanted it so he could play because looking back at the games I have for it about 8 of 12 or so are boxing and football...I was 1. Since then though my dad hasn't played anything with me with the exception of about 5 minutes of asteroids just after I had bought my Atari.

I woke up from a nap and my brother was teaching my dad to play black ops on the wii with motion controls it was so funny. Also my dad has this weird obsession over airplanes and choppers. Everytime I do something that involves using a chopper or airplane my dad just sits there amazed at the graphics.
He also loves watching me play fishing games with the motion controls.

I do not know if it counts, but when i was seven my first game was phantom hourglass. In the temple of the ocean king i had trouble drawing a Triforce on the door without lifting my pen/stylus. I would always ask my parents to do it for me and they reluctantly agreed. My dad had an atari when he was a kid. He used to play elder scrolls oblivion on PC but his character sucks. Other than that, i never did video games with my parents. My uncle got into computer programming a little, but mostly likes stuff like D&D. My friends dad pwns at New Super Mario bros wii. I went to his house and played it their, and he was crazy good. I am not sure if i would like to play them with my parents though.

My whole family will play Mario Kart together quite often. My dad and I still play Duck Hunt together, it's a blast! My little sister will play Zelda games with me every so often and my twin sister and I have logged hundreds of hours on the LEGO games. We have beaten them all except Harry Potter and have completed them all 100% except for PotC and Indiana Jones 2. (I don't plan on finishing it) We have completely finished both Lego Star Wars games on 3 different occasions and finished iboth again when the complete saga came out.

My parents will play Donkey Konga and Wii Sports with me. Anything else is "Too complicated" I tried getting my Dad to play Kirby Air Ride on my Gamecube... yeah, that didnt go to well. He kept bumping into every wall there is and found ways to die that i didnt think were possible.
