Ive looked through the threads and found nothing on games of all time so here it is. They can be classic modern whatever just in your opinion top 10 games of all time.

1-Harvest Moon 64: This is one of the games I grew up on as a kid, and its really what got me into the Harvest Moon series. As Ive posted in other threads, I would play this game for hours on end and never get bored. Who would have thought a farming game would be fun?

2-EarthBound: Not many people know about, or own an actuall copy of this game, and I have played both the emulator and the SNES version and the SNES version is better to me. This game is such a creative RPG. I really don't think there is any other game like it other then the Mother series. It also has a massive fan base, but most just play the emulators.

3-Double Dragon: Arround here, there is not many arcades so what I do when Im craving a good oldarcade game I play Double Dragon with the NES Advantage controller. This game too me has some of the best music on an NES game, and controlls.

4-Sonic the Hedgehog 2: This is another classic I grew up on, and as a kid Id watch the Sonic cartoons every Saturday, and I actually had a few shows on tape but I seemed to have lost them. And as I have stated in other threads, this is what I think of when you say the word "Sonic". A blue hedgehog racing arround Green Hill Zone witht he awsome music, and just thinking man this game is cool.

5-The Legend of Zelda: Now to be hounest Im not that great at this game, but I still love it. If you ask me its the kind of game you could just keep playing. The music is great and it was a very different game from the other NES titles. The only thing I would change though is the overhead veiw. I didn't like that much.

6-Banjo Tooie: This is another one of those "I grew up on them" sorta games. This was one of the first N64 games I beat, and I never regret the countless hours I spent playing it. I mean a bear and a bird? Thats really creative, and I just love the stages and music.

7-Castlevainia: This game is just an awsome game. Period. There is not too many vampire games to choose from on the NES nevermind good ones. This music was great and the controll was ok the jumping was the only thing for me that threw it off.

8-Pokemon Ruby: Im not much of a modern gamer, but when It comes to Pokemon, Its no different. I remember when the pre-order date for this was released, I was at my grandmas house int he United States, and I picked up the phone and called my dad and told him to pre-order it for me. I like how different it is from the older Pokemon games, but I still enjoy it.

9-Mario Kart: I have beaten this game so many times, and it still never gets boring. Its just one of those kinda game if you know what I mean? When I got it, I played it for about 2 hours straight untill my mom told me to stop :P.

10-Super Smash Brothers: Me and my friends used to have SSB tournements for candy. It was pretty fun. Ive pretty much master the controll on this game and my favorite characters are Captain Falcon, Link and Ness. Ive masterd the falcon punch on that game too. I usually have perfect timing.

You are missing a lot of great game... Final Fantasy VII, Ocarina of Time, etc...
Pokémon ruby on the list? i don't think there is a single pokémon game that deserves being there, even though I like the series.
Castlevania is good, but Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is way much better.
Earthbound Rocks,period.
Super Smash bros is good, but, as well as other tiltes, shouldn't be there.
Super Metroid or Metroid prime 1, where is any of it?
Majora's Mask as well.
Also, Mario Kart is good, but if there are 2 mario games that deserve to be there are Super Mario World and Super Mario RPG... those were my 2 cents to this thread.

Edit:

Here is a better Top 10, imo

10- Super Mario RPG
09- Kingdom Hearts
08- Metal gear Solid IV
07- Super Metroid
06- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
05- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
04- Final Fantasy VII
03- Super Mario World
02- Earthbound
01- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

10. Star Trek: Conquest Wii - I'm sure everyone else and their dog disagrees with me, but being the huge Trek fan I am, this game got dozens of hours from me.

9. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Wii - Had everything I loved about OoT. Need I say anymore?

8. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Genesis - The first one was good, but this one was better. Add all of the winning elements of the first game, add some new winning elements, and guess what you get? A winning game of course. :D

7. Final Fantasy X-2 PS2 - Yes, many of the die-hard FF fans hated it, but this was a continuation of X, (which I loved even more) which really made me dive into the story of the game even more. Add a battle system that has really grown on me, and this game deserves to be in my top ten.

6. Super Mario Sunshine GC - I thought the idea behind this game was great. People are always wanting something new, and they got it with this game, for better are worse. I actually enjoyed the water gun. :P

5. Legend of Zelda OoT N64 - My first Zelda, so naturally it's my favorite. I had never played a game like it before, and I was left amazed the first time I played it.

4. Kingdom Hearts Series PS2 - Easily the best RPG I've ever played. The real time battle system works to perfection, and while the plot can be a bit trippy at times, I still enjoyed it.

3. Final Fantasy X PS2 - I had never played a FF game before, and this game taught me how great FF games are. Never before had a game absorbed me so much. I couldn't get enough of the characters, story, and the awesome battle system. KH makes a better RPG, but this game has been the only game that has actually awakened emotions of happiness and sadness.

2. Super Smash Bros. Series - What can I say? This is the ultimate multiplayer game for me. When I have some friends over, we can play any SSB game and never get tired.

1. Super Mario Galaxy Wii - Yes, it's the best game I've ever played. The reasons are quite obvious.

5. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
4. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
3. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
2. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
1. Kingdom Hearts [all three]

Ok I understand why you would be confused by my list. I am a classic gamer, so I rarely play modern games, so I could see why youa re confused why some of the modern Castlevainias, or Final Fantasy are not on my list. As far as OoT, in my opinion OoT was good but not great. And trust me there are other people on ZD that think that too (im not crazy :P). And pokemon is pretty much just because...its pokemon...and maybe there is a better game but its opinion. As far as you list goes, Ive never played about 4 of them on there. But again its opinion, and yours is different from mine.

The Legend of Zelda

The Legend of Zelda 2: The adventure of Link

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Wind waker

Super Ghouls ´n Ghosts

Metroid Fusion

Castlevania

Mega Man 2

Trojan

These could be my top ten games (I´m bad at making lists and often change my mind). I will not try to rank them, would be impossible. It might look like a strange list, but the fact is that I´ve probably not played much more then 50-60 games during my life, and most of them I played during my NES era, quite some years ago.

I actually just started to play Super Ghouls ´n Ghosts a couple of days ago. I´ve only reached the 5th level but I know I will love it all the way (but will I make it all the way D:), even though it will be hard like few other games.

I had completely forgotten about Trojan but I heard of a collection for the PSP (Skull_Kid told me about the collection). I looked it up on wikipedia and saw the name Trojan and I started to remember some exciting days from my childhood :)

Megaman 2 is another game I haven´t played since the late 80´s (or was it the beginning of the 90´s?), I loved Megaman 1 & 2, and thinking about it I believe the 2nd game was a bit better.

As you can see, I am a Zelda fan, the Zelda games I´ve mentioned are the ones that have appealed most to me.

1. Resident Evil (original PS1 version)

EASILY my #1 game. It was totally different from any game I have ever played before and I remember my jaw dropping as I watched the intro. It was the first time I had seen a game with a "movie" as an intro. It was amazing and there were so many copycat games afterwards but nothing beats RE.

2. Streets of Rage 2

I love the entire series but part 2 stuck out for me. It has the best soundtrack I have ever heard in my life and it never gets boring. The only problem with it is it's too short but that's pretty much teh problem with every Genesis game.

3. Ocarina of Time

One of the longest games I have ever played and one of the best. I enoyed the storyline and it's what really got me into Zelda games in the first place. Everything about the game was aboe and beyond.

4. Sonic the Hedgehog 2

I remember my brother and I worshipping our mom on a school day when he let us stay home to play it because I had made it to the end of the game and we didn't want to turn it off and have to do it again later. Another game with a great soundtrack and great replay value.

5. Resident Evil 2

This game was so good, it almost overshadows the original (some even think it's better). The story, the characters, everything was very well done and I enjoyed the way they set up the Leon/Claire scenerios, that was a cool idea, so you could see what happened from both sides.

6. Need for Speed: Most Wanted

My 360 screwed up and I had to get another one, which meant I had to start this game all over again after making it up to spot #3, but the joy about this game is that it's fun so it isn't a problem to have to redo everything. Beautiful graphics, a fairly solid soundtrack and exciting cop chases. I'm a big fan of racing games and this one is my favourite.

7. Mortal Kombat

Never would have thought a game as violent as MK would fly very well in our sensitive society but I remember being 7 years old and being in love with this game. It's an instant classic. Too bad it's been raped over the years. Plus, Raiden is one of the coolest characters ever.

8. Street Fighter

So many memories. Pretty much what helped kick start fighting games and introduced the world to Chun Li, who would go on to being one of the most popular female video game characters ever. Not a huge deal for some but it's nice to have a female character who is popular with both males and females and paved the way for future female fighters.

9. Resident Evil 5

I found this game to be incredibly fun. It was exciting to see Chris, Jill and Wesker all back in the same game together and the small twist in the game (though a bit predictable) was still pretty cool and interesting. Didn't like Jill's blonde hair but what can ya do.....Chris was a powerhouse and liked how Wesker had the matrix thing going on.

10: WWF No Mercy

My favourite wrestling game ever! I used to play it half to death. It had easy controls and was one of the most fun games I have ever played. Reply value was fantastic and it was so worth it. They make wrestling games look a lot nicer now but I still enjoy the less pretty graphics of No Mercy.

1. Simpsons Hit and Run - This was a beautiful game to me. It has a great replay value in it, and it's the best racing/smashing cars game I've played.

2. Goldeneye 007 - This one used to be my favorite for all of my child years. It was a beautiful shooter game back then and even now.

3. The Wind Waker - I love this game. It's graphics are awesome, and I luv it's storyline and ending.

4. Super Mario Galaxy - The best game Nintendo's released in a long time. Enjoyed it quite a lot.

5. Pokemon Blue - Yes, specifically Blue. I think it was actually first game I ever had, I still love to play it, and it's still my favorite Pokemon game.

6. A Link to the Past - I love this game dearly. It has an almost endless replay value, and it's a beautifully made game.

7. Ocarina of Time - Yes it's all the way down here. It wasn't my favorite game of all time, it's modest.

8. Super Mario 64 - Had awesome levels, was always fun and shall always be fun in the future.

9. Twilight Princess - Yes, TP is on here. For all I care, it was damn good game.

10. Super Mario World - Basically, super mario 64 except made a tad different.

1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/A Link to the Past - I've yet to come to a consensus with myself.

2. Metroid Prime - The game that got me into the Metroid franchise.

3. Super Smash Bros. Melee - When the game is meant for multiplayer and I play it single for several years, you know it is good.

4. Super Mario 64 - That opening pan still burned into my head as one of those defining moments in gaming.

5. EarthBound - Best. RPG. Ever.

6. Conker's Bad Fur Day - Funniest game I've ever played.

7. Resident Evil 4 - The shot in the arm the franchise needed.

8. Ico - Maybe the best atmosphere in any game ever.

9. Super Mario Bros. 3 - 2D platformers don't get better than this.

10. Metal Gear Solid - The PS1 version holds so much nostalgia for me.

And as an added bonus I'll put in the other 15 of my top 25 I did last year.

11. Super Metroid
12. Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
13. Legend of Zelda
14. Mega Man 2
15. Super Mario World
16. Viewtiful Joe
17. Resident Evil 2
18. Doom II
19. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
20. Super Mario Bros.
21. Mega Man X2
22. Goldeneye 007
23. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
24. Star Fox 64
25. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest

The reason why some great games like Mario Galaxy, MP3, TP, Brawl, MGS4 or RE5 aren't on here is that I like to let games simmer for a little while after multiple playthroughs and see how I feel later on. Galaxy, Brawl and TP are looking good to be on here eventually.

I cant really put them in order because I love them to much to choose favorites. But here is a list in just a random order.

1. Super Mario Bros. Well... it was the first game I played and it got me into wanting more games for my SNES which AlttP was one of. It is still a very fun game for me and I play it on my DS all the time still

2. The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past. What can I say? In my opinion it is the best SNES game and the best Zelda game. A true classic. It took me a long long time to finish and find everything. The only thing I am missing is the last heart piece. I know where to get it... I just cant find it. Stupid digging game ><

3. The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Well... its the first 3D Zelda and it is really fun. The main formula is lots like AlttP but its in a good way in this game. It took me a long time to finish but I have not even come close to finding all the heart pieces. It does not have the same replay value as AlttP for me though.

4. The Legend of Zelda. I got this game for GBA from the Classic NES series and its really fun. I like how simple it is and the dungeons are very very challenging. Especially level 9. I have never tried the 2nd quest yet but it is a real classic ^^

5. Super Mario 64. I LOVE this game! I spent so much time replaying this game and I am still not tired of it. I love going back to all the courses and collecting the 100 coin star or getting other stars I missed.

6. Castlevania. Well I really love this game. I am really close to finishing it and I dont remember if I have finished it before... I have a really bad memory. But... it was the first Castlevania game and it has classic musik and monsters ^^

7. Shadowgate. Ok... maybe people have never heard of this game... but there is a NES version to. It was released on the Macintosh in the late 80s and it is a point and click adventure game and yes... its in Black and White =D I find it really fun... I guess thats why it is on this list... the puzzles are great for how old it is.

8. Super Mario Sunshine. Lots of people dont like this game. Or lots of people I know... but I love it! And lets face it... 10 games is just to few for me to post ones I really like >< Super mario bros 3 should be on here but I just dont have room... Anyway... yes... I love this game!

9. Golden Eye 007. I think my father got this game for himself for N64. I remember learning to play this game in multiplayer mode and I finally finished single player... the only shooter Im really really great at ^^

10. The Legend of Zelda Majoras mask. I think it is the best 3D Zelda... and the most unique. I love the story and the masks and everything... the side quests to. I am pretty sure I finished this game.. or watched my friend finish it... but I am almost done with it anyway ^^

This is hard... Other than the first 3 games, these are in no order. Also, the list is subject to change at any time.

1. Banjo-Kazooie - The perfect game. The gameplay, and the music along with the fun and creativity make this my favourite game.
2. Chrono Trigger - Time Travel. Enough said. Easily the best Snes game, IMO.
3. Super Mario Bros. 3 - Easily my favourite Mario game ever. This game probably has more memories with it than any other game I've played.
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - This game had adventure. So much better than what the other TMNT games seem to be like, IMO.
5. Sonic the Hedgehog - For the Gamegear. This game brings back great memories.
6. Super Mario World - The best mario game for the Snes, IMO.
7. Super Mario 64 - My first nintendo game. Good memories with that.
8. Adventure of Link - Probably the 2nd video game I ever played (after SMB). I've always loved everything about this game (other than the difficulty).
9. Ocarina of Time - The game that got me in to Zelda. While my interest in the game has dropped significantly, I still think it's quite fun.
10. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - I'm not gonna lie, I love this game mainly for the music.

I would totally and definitely replace Crisis Core with Dirge of Cerebrus.
DoC made me cry for hours, because it was a total flop!
FF IV Ds remake is absolute jaw dropping, I got it today and saw the opening and it is quite impressive

This is really hard to decide, gee whizershnappers.

1. The Legend of Zelda - Majora's Mask - Well, to be honest, there isn't really that much to say about this. Great story, interesting plot, a lot of exploration/collecting, great enemies/bosses, and interesting and complex dungeons.

2. Metroid (The original one for NES) - This game has gotten a lot of criticism for difficulty level. I used to think that it wasn't very good because I honestly had no clue what to do, but when I got going in the game and figured out more about the game and what to do, it became amazing. One big reason I prefer this one largely over Zero Mission is that Zero Mission makes you have to get certain items in a certain designated order. Heck, I could get pretty much every item before I faced Kraid or Ridley in this game.

3. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum - The 4th gen of pokemon was the best. The last 3 were great, especially the first gen (on this list). I love how the 4th gen added so much more to the series. Wi-fi, the number of legendaries was highly increased from previous generations, and the underground, to name a few. I especially liked how Platinum enhanced the story and added many more things to do post-game.

4. FF III - One of the two Final Fantasy games I have on DS (Gee, I wonder why, maybe, because, there are only two on DS?). With the Job/Class system in this game, it made going through the game multiple times more fun because you can go through the game with like 250,000 party configurations.

5. Metroid Fusion - This game was probably the reason I got into the Metroid series. I did like the story more than the other Metroid games, but it would've been awesome if they could have made the story be tied in with a little more free roaming exploration. This is the only Metroid game I have ever speed ran, or rather, the only video game I have ever speed ran. But I'm not as good at it as some other people, as I've only beaten it in 1:34.

6. Super Mario 64 - The best of the 3 non-spinoff Mario games that have been released for the 3 most current non-portable nintendo consoles. I'm not sure why, but I liked collecting the stars in this game more than I liked collecting the Shine Sprites or whatever was in SMG (I haven't played this game like at all, but I've watched my brother play it). There is not much else to say about it. It was just a downright great game.

7. Super Metroid - The last Metroid game on my list. This game is generally said to be the best Metroid game. I don't think it is the best but it is still one of the best games of all time. It felt as if to be an extension to the original Metroid, containing the same bosses but adding 2, along with a miniboss (there might be more than one). But the reason it is below the original one is because it, once again, has a designated order as to what bosses you had to defeat and what items you must collect. It is below Fusion because Fusion had more bosses and items, but that isn't as important to me as the whole exploration thing.

8. Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow/FireRed/LeafGreen - The awesome 1st generation Pokemon games. to be honest I don't know why I like these more than the other 2 gens, but if I were to take a guess it would just have to be because it is the gen that features the most "new" pokemon. The reason I have the remakes up with the originals is because, unlike most remakes, this remake is like, an exact replica of the game, and what has been added is mostly optional, other than the trip to the Sevii islands after the 7th badge, and that isn't even much either.

9. The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past - I always like it when there is more to do in a Zelda game. This Zelda game didn't have that much to do out of the main game, but there was a TON of stuff in the main game. I don't know exactly how many dungeons there are, but enough to make me satisfied. Which, again, is weird, because my top is MM. Masks>Dungeons, lol.

10. FF IV - The only of my top 10 that I haven't actually beaten, I was obsessed with this one for awhile. This game has more story and interesting plot changes than most of the games I have played. I probably would have more FF games on this list if more of them would be released on DS. (I've heard great things about FF VII, so it would be really cool to put that on DS.)
Honorable mentions - Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Phantasia, because the Tales series has some downright awesome RPG's.

I believe you are a bit mistaken there...

List of DS Final Fantasy Games:

Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire of the Rift
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Final Fantasy: Chocobo Tales
Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles: Rings of Faith

And I think there at least two more:)

I can't believe you putted Metroid Fusion ahead of Super Metroid... That really got me awed.
I love Fusion, and it is my favorite 2-D metroid, but I have to admit that Super Metroid is way much better

I have a terrible time picking out my "favorites" or my "top 10" or whatever when it comes to video games. There are so many that I love so much that I find it very hard to rank any of them. So, here are my Top 10. This post contains accurate information for the next hour - until I remember a game I forgot. :P

10. Super Mario Galaxy & Super Mario Bros. 3 (tie)
I couldn't leave Mario off entirely, could I? Both of these games are incredible and brought Mario to new places. They are the best games we have in a dying genre (a dying genre which I love to death).

9. Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals
Yeah, a game you never heard of. This one's a classic Super Nintendo RPG. The story is epic, the music is epic, the adventure-style is unique. This game has some real puzzles and out-of-battle items (arrows, a hookshot basically, bombs, etc) and still has it's own spin on the traditional turn based battle system. No random battles either. This is a gaming treasure that is sadly overlooked among the Final Fantasys of our world.

8. MOTHER2 / Earthbound
Don't get the wrong idea by this being number 8. I said before that I have a terrible time putting the games in any kind of order. And Earthbound is very dear to my heart. Amazing game, simple as that.

7. Super Metroid
The best Metroid game. Period. To comment on a previous comment on this game. Yes, it's not even close to the entirely unlinear mess that created the first Metroid game. Being unlinear is only good to a certain extent. Metroid took it too far. Metroid Fusion and the Prime series went to the other extreme - telling you exactly where to go all the time. Super Metroid found a nice medium, and it's perfect.

Yes, you're required to kill the bosses in a specific order. And yes, you need certain upgrades before you can continue to certain areas. But the game doesn't tell you where they are and good players can figure out secrets to get items earlier than they are supposed to. Ever got the Spazer early? You're supposed to have the Hi-Jump, but wall jumps work. This is the beauty of this game.

6. Final Fantasy VI
Screw Final Fantasy VII. It's a fine game, but it makes me want to cry when I see it so honored above this clearly superior title. The last 2D Final Fantasy remains the best in the series. Kupo!

5. Chrono Trigger
Do I really have to explain why this is awesome? The game has great everything, even the credits are epic and full of amazing names.

4. MOTHER3
Strange, Funny, and Heartrending. The sequel to Earthbound. The game we're still begging to have in English even though Starmen.net translated the whole thing for us. This is everything Earthbound is, and more. This game will make the most manly guy cry. Chuck Norris and Kamina cried for hours when they played it.

3. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Why isn't this number one? Because it's not my favorite. What it is, is the greatest game ever made simply because of it's contributions to our industry. Even so, I'd rather play A Link to the Past any day.

2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
It's Zelda, it's the best Zelda, and this is a Zelda site. I'm not explaining why Zelda is awesome.

1. Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber
Let's talk about forgotten, overlooked games. People whine about the lack of amazing RPGs on the N64, but they never played this one. To be fair, it's a strategy RPG, but it's still leagues better than every other RPG on the N64 - including Paper Mario. 60+ hours of gameplay the first time through, and the storyline branches with multiple endings to encourage playing it again. There are tons of secret characters - which you can't get in just one play through - an amazing story, epic soundtrack, and unique battle system.

The only downside this game has is that a lot of people, even gamers, aren't hardcore enough to enjoy it. The battle system is very "set it up and watch it go." Meaning, the battles happen automatically based on how you set up the units before the battle. Even so, the possibilities are endless and the game is without a doubt among the best on the Nintendo 64.

It's a shame that despite incredible review scores, it was completely overlooked and underproduced. Here's hoping it hits virtual console soon (the Super NES games, Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen, already has).

NOTE: This game is awesome enough that I named myself after it. Yumil is one of the main characters. :)

And that, is the real top 10 games, for the next hour.

1. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Awesome beyond all reason. And insanely long. Enough said.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
A bit too linear yes, but it makes up for it with awesomeness.
3. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
A true classic game. Never gets old. Could play through that one again and again. Amazing storyline.
4. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Collecting stuff. That was awesome. A rarity in Zelda games to have that much exploring and collecting open.
5. Star Wars: Battle for Naboo
You explore a backstory mentioned in the movie but not seen. Awesome story line. A N64 game with some of the best graphics on the system.
6. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
That sense of exploring a vast area. It is so rare in the series. the size of the world was stunning. Even if the game was a bit too short.
7. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
Another movie backstory that was mentioned only. Awesome gamepaly. And it get very difficult towards the end. Awesome. (For those that don't know, it is all about how Jango Fett meets up with Count Dooku. How Jango was chosen to be the template for the clone army.)
8. Super Mario Sunshine
Great game. I've wasted away days of my life on this thing. Awesome.
9. Star Wars: Clone Wars
Awesomeness on a disk. The controls for this game just felt so natural. It also has an excellent multplayer mode.
10. Soul Calibur II
Arcade at home! The Weapon master mode is challenging. You have to find the right character for each mission. Some just don't cut it. It's more than fighting. There is strategy! Great game to play with friends and family too.

Drawn to Life
For sure the best game I've ever played. In Drawn to Life, there is a species called the Raposa. The village they lived in is covered in shadows by a corrupt Raposa named Wilfre. I sadly never beat the game, because I lost the card or cartridge or whatever it's called.
Kirby: Super Star Ultra
An awesome game. Second only to Drawn to Life. 11 sub games, 5 mini games and 2 special features.
Mabinogi
This is a multiplayer, online game. I made some friends, killed some monsters, rode a boat, etc. Lots of stuff to do, and awesome graphics!
Drop Dead: Final Cut
No, this isn't as bad as it sounds. It's another online game. You have to use giant razors and such to kill the character and get as many points as possible. And, there's a free play mode!
Sketch Star
3 online games in a row! In this, you can make animations, and other people watch them.
Nintendogs: Dachshund and Friends
In this game, you have 2 or 3 virtual dogs, and you take care of them. It's really cute, but it can get kinda boring
The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
A nice game. Plenty of storyline to it. There's an actual goal, too. I like the little mushroom things that you pull on to send you over big gaps! <3
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
A pretty cool game. There's a boat, a sword, a real story and awesome end credits, but it gets a bit boring after beating it 3 times -.-
Pokemon Ranger
This game was pretty good. It got really hard at one point, though =\ I lost the cartridge thingy for this game, too.
Pokemon Yellow
A pretty good game. I liked how Pikachu would follow the character around. Once again, lost the cartridge -.-

I don't think I can post them in order (except for the number 1), so I'll just name them

My top 10 videogames would be...

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes: An amazing remake of an already amazing game. Cinematic experience like no other. Truly the best fusion of a movie and game you can find.

StarFox 64: The father is killed, and the son is out on revenge. Classic story that never gets old. Plus great voice acting, different routes to the end and overall one of the most entertaining games I've played.

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time: Do I really need to say something about this game? Best game EVER...period.

Chrono Trigger: One of those games you can play over and over and over again. Can't get tired of it, multiple endings, AMAZING story, interesting characters. You can't go wrong with this one.

Super Mario 64: The granddaddy of 3D adventure/platform games. Great transtion into the 3D enviroment. So many great things happened in this game. Mario got a voice, Peach got a voice, there was Metal Mario, great music, most entertaining floating head in a menu screen in history, and one of the most catchy ending songs ever.

Mario Kart 64: C'mon...you get the Rainbow Road. What else do you need?...ok, ok, you also get great multiplayer. Could have used a few more characters, but overall one of the true entertaining games i've played.

Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars: Is there anything Mario can do wrong? Great game, very funny characters. I couldn't believe how well the mario universe worked on an RPG game.

Star Wars: Tie Fighter: An old Star Wars game for PC. You actually get to play as the Empire. How cool is that? It was a space combat simulator with great moments, like Darth Vader selecting you personally for a rescue mission (the Emperor being the hostage) *drools* . Very cool.

Grim Fandango: Wow, what can I say about this one. Truly epic story with hilarious moments. It's a graphic adventure by LucasArts. I absolutely recommend it. Do get a copy of this, you won't regret it

Monkey Island (saga): Another one by LucasARts. Truly classic graphic adventure. As always, hilarious moments. Actually is such a fun game, that even though it pretty much does not have any sound (the first game of the saga), you canˇt stop playing it. That should tell you something good about it.

I believe you are a bit mistaken there...

List of DS Final Fantasy Games:

Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2: Grimoire of the Rift
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Final Fantasy: Chocobo Tales
Final Fantasy Chrystal Chronicles: Rings of Faith

And I think there at least two more:)

I've been living under a rock as far as DS FF games go. I might get XII, considering that's the only one you've listed under the main series. My oldest brother has Girimoire of the Rift, though.

You are missing a lot of great game... Final Fantasy VII, Ocarina of Time, etc...
Pokémon ruby on the list? i don't think there is a single pokémon game that deserves being there, even though I like the series.
Castlevania is good, but Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is way much better.
Earthbound Rocks,period.
Super Smash bros is good, but, as well as other tiltes, shouldn't be there.
Super Metroid or Metroid prime 1, where is any of it?
Majora's Mask as well.
Also, Mario Kart is good, but if there are 2 mario games that deserve to be there are Super Mario World and Super Mario RPG... those were my 2 cents to this thread.

Edit:

Here is a better Top 10, imo

10- Super Mario RPG
09- Kingdom Hearts
08- Metal gear Solid IV
07- Super Metroid
06- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
05- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
04- Final Fantasy VII
03- Super Mario World
02- Earthbound
01- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

You think pokemon wont make a top 10 list well when you do research pokemon is the 2nd biggest franchise in video game history and each pokemon game ends up being the top sell game on each gameboy. super mario world isnt that good it is taking smb3 and just making it just a little better in other words smw and smb3 is just about the same. metal gear solid 4 is like any other game these days just another shooter game. final fantasy is all right game. earthbound i would put it in the same place. Oot is not that of a great game but should be on some top 10 games. kingdom hearths is lame, and any other game i didnt comment on is a alright game.

Skull_Kid, I think everyone should be entitled to their own opinion. You can't really argue about other people their opinions, since they'll most likely disagree with yours. :P

Anyway, it's really difficult for me to make a list like this. There's actually a whole bunch of games I like, it's even more difficult to put them in a logical list. So here's ten games I absolutely adore, in no particular order:

The first game that comes to mind is the original Super Mario Bros. It was the very first video game I played. I still have very fond memories of the game. I didn't know how to jump so I kept walking in to pits. Yeah, looking back, I didn't actually play the game properly. But can you really blame me? I was three at the time! :P Still, it was my very first introduction to video games. Too bad my parents gave the NES away...

Super Mario World, now there's a game I did play properly! It was my first serious video game experience. Me and my dad spent hours, days, weeks trying to finish it 100 percent. There were so many tricks, secret exits, power ups. It truly amazed me at the time. I still have original cartridge in my SNES. And I still often feel like playing the game.

Another Mario game... Super Mario 64 first introduced me to 3D gaming. Finishing the game 100 percent took me about a year, but it was absolutely worth it. So when the game got a DS remake I was thrilled. Unfortunately Super Mario 64 DS just didn't feel right to me. Perhaps it was the missing analog stick. I still got all 150 stars under a week though. :P

Of course Zelda played a pretty big part in my life too. A Link to the Past was a nice introduction to the series, although I never did finish it at the time. Ocarina of Time however, completely changed my view on video games forever. The story, the characters, the setting, they all appealed to me. As with most games I tried to finish it 100 percent without a guide. But I never got those few remaining skulleta's. D:

Majora's Mask is without a doubt one of my favorite video games. Most people feel pushed by the three day limit. I on the other hand love the idea. Majora's Mask is perhaps the darkest Zelda game. And it's true that at the time I couldn't appreciate its greatness. Dabombster posted a very interesting article not too long ago. My views on the game are pretty much the same as the one who wrote the article.

Another game... Hmm... I suppose EarthBound made a pretty big impression on me. Of course I couldn't play the game legally, since it never got released in Europe. So I played it on an emulator. I still want to buy the game one of these days though. Anyway, EarthBound is one of the few RPG's I actually completed. You see, most RPG's all share a common trait: they're based in a medieval setting; the use magic; they feature different races etc. etc. etc. EarthBound did things differently. It was set in a modern setting. That's right. There were no knights, instead there were stray dogs. It's definitely one of the most unique games ever created.

How about a more modern game? The World Ends With You got released last year on the DS. It's comparable to EarthBound. It again differs from the regular RPG system. It features realtime battles, a unique pin system and a very interesting story with enough plot-twists to create another grand canyon. That's about it. :D

Metal Gear Solid on the PSX was pretty unique. It's the only MGS game I ever completed (well, I completed the Twin Snakes too. But that's a remake). It surprises me how there isn't a MGS movie yet. Ah well, the game has a very thick plot. It's about terrorists, a big metal machine (:O), science gone wrong, etc. Just play it, you won't regret it.

Argh, two more games! Wario Ware Inc. on the GBA is one of my favorite portable time wastes. :P I've completely all the micro games, yet I'm still not bored of it. The sequels are OK, just not as amazing as the original was. I'm also really looking forward to Rhythm Heaven on the DS. It's by the same people.

One final game... Hrmm... And it better be an epic one. Perhaps the greatest game of all time, is a really simple one. Tetris. That's right, the game you got when you bought the original Gameboy. It's a classic formula that still works well, even today. I can never get enough of those tetrominoes. :P

And that's about it, really. I'm sure I missed quite a few games. But can you really put all your favorite games in a top ten? I don't think so. Oh well, I had fun writing this post. Now I'm off to play some Super Mario World. :)

I actually own this game. In Europe it's known as just Lufia (we never got the first game). I agree with you; it's a great game. Again, one of the few RPG titles I actually finished.

Many people saying EarthBound, which is cool, but I think MOTHER and MOTHER 3 are better games with better storylines, personally. As for my top 10, you'll find that I love old games, and have a bias towards Nintendo.

10. StarTropics (NES)
This pretty much is on here because it is incredibly fun.

9. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (GCN)
Had some problems with sailing, but apart from that it was pretty much a perfect game.

8. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GCN/Wii)
I wish I got the Gamecube version instead of the Wii version. This game was pretty fun, and had an enjoyable story.

7. MOTHER (NES)
Mind blowing plotline and one of the most revolutionary RPGs out there; pushed the limits of the gaming world.

6. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (GBC)
Give a game a good story and I'll jump all over it. Give it even better gameplay, and I'll love it.

5. Super Mario Brothers (NES)
This should be on every top 10 list.

4. MOTHER 3 (GBA)
Grown American men who could not speak a work of Japanese cried playing this. It was that good.

3. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Master Quest (GCN)
I chose Master Quest because it added to the original without removing anything. Great story, very enjoyable game.

2. Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken (GBA)
First video game that succeeded at making me cry from its storyline. Beautifully created, excellent game.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
The storyline was just, beyond words. The amount of detail put into each minor character was incredible. A small change in the beginning could yield very different end results, and this game truly showed how choice in games could be revolutionary.

10. Luigi's Mansion - A lot of people don't like this game, but I love it.

9. Super Mario RPG - This game is so fun. You can play it countless times, it never gets boring. Awesome characters, soundtrack, battle mechanics, everything.

8. EarthBound - This game is so clever, funny, awesome. It needs a spot on this list. I am a huge MOTHER fan, to let you guys know. I love these games.

7. Kirby Superstar Ultra - I loved the original, and this game makes it oh so much better. And it has awesome co-op, as long as the other person has the game too.

6. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - I love this game. Amazing graphics, awesome gameplay, ect.

5. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - This game. This game. This game is everything. Creepy, funny, trippy, fun, awesome, dark, cheerful.

4. Paper Mario 1 & 2 - I couldn't decide which one to put, so I put both. They're amazing games.

3. Yoshi's Island - Ahhhh, memories. I grew up with this game. It's so awesome.

2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - A lot of people would argue that the first game is better, but I like this one so much more. Final smashes are awesome.

1. MOTHER 3 - Only game that ever made me cry. It's a really sad game. But it can be happy, too. It's strange to describe. But I love it.

Here is my list:

1)The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Of course, This is my opinion is the greatest game ever made, It was an excellent game for its time and still is an excellent game now. Without a guide this game was a very hard game, It is much harder than most games are nowadays. The Temple's were hard and the infamous Water Temple consumed several hours of my life. It was original as well, Everything was new about it, It was a Great 3D game and I believe has molded how games are today.

2)Mario Land 64: This game has kept me and my siblings entertained for hours on end, It is a hard game yet fun, It doesn't get boring and with the addition of the 30 stars on Mario Land 64 DS the game got even more fun, Even more so with the addition of Luigi, Wario and Yoshi. It was a original game which was/is hard to beat, Galaxy didn't come close in my opinion for the fact that that game is a pushover compared to Mario Land 64. This game was also quite hard to complete and was very very fun.

3)The Pokemon Series: Pokemon hasn't changed much over the years but still finds a place for me to spend hours and hours of my life on it, I believe I have played 1700-1900 hours of my life playing this game (Which works out roughly between 70 to 80 days worth). It has renewed in my heart recently as well seeing as I have joined the Competitive scene and have decided to EV train Pokemon, This makes Pokemon in my opinion one of the hardest games to get into in terms of competitive battling. Also in my opinion this game never gets old and with the better graphics this game has improved the look of Pokemon. An example of this is I like the look of Charizard more but a new pokemon, Infernape, is now my favourite of pretty much all pokemon.

4)The Super Smash Bros. Series: Yet another series to steal many many hours of my life, Ever since I first played this game when I was 5-6 years old I have played this game for long period's of time each year. This game also never gets old and with the newest installation I fell in love with this series yet again. It is a great game to play with friends and with the Tourney mode it is even better with friends (I know Melee had a Tourney mode as well).

5)The Mario Kart Series: Although being only 15 and missing out on the original Mario Kart's I have loved this game ever since I picked up my brothers Mario Kart 64 and have constantly played any Mario Kart since, Yes, Another game that has stolen many many hours of my life. The only problem I have with Mario Kart 64 as an individual game is that I have gotten slowly worse as time has gone on, which is sad as I used to be able to lap pretty much everyone but now my skill lacks and I fall short of that. The newer games have started to annoy me with the rediculous amount of Blue Shell's fired in every race but yet I still love this series.

6)The Doom Series: I know that most Doom's were expansions but I loved this series, I never completed it as I sadly don't have it anymore. This game was an excellent FPS, Even though the graphics weren't great they were still decent. This game is one of the hardest I have ever come across, Much harder than that of OoT. It was and still is original and had an excellent plot, Also a game that produced a good film, No matter how far away it stray's from the game's plot. The weapons were imaginative and this was the first FPS I ever played.

7)Goldeneye 007: I am not a fan of Bond game's as they usually suck and don't follow the films, But Goldeneye is a excellent exception. This was the second FPS I really remember playing, It followed the plot of the film closely and had great gameplay. I remember all the characters and guns, They were the most memorable sound effects in a game for me (No matter how unrealistic), It was hours of fun to play and with the different difficulty levels and had good Multi-player options.

8)Age of Empires: The age of Empires series was great, The first was not so good but the second and third were brilliant. Also the expansions were great fun and added a lot of new options to the game, Mainly Age of Empires 3: Asian Dynasties. The series was and is still great, It is the ultimate in Strategy games for me. The gameplay was good and the series had several excellent Campeign's which I still play today. Also the online has a good system of play as well.

9)Timesplitters Series The Timesplitters series is a great FPS, Great with friends or online for being serious or having a laugh (Like me and friends made a match with only throwing bricks at each other), Excluding the first (which never had a stroy mode) the series has an great Campeign split over 2 games and possibly a third when it comes out. The characters and weapon's were imaginative and so were the maps. The map maker in this game is the one of the best I have ever come across, The only annoyance being that you have a cap on the Memory you can use. Another great thing about the map maker is you can make your own story mode mission.

10)Halo 1 & 2 Even though some of you have seen how much I have said I hate Halo, I only hate Halo 3, Halo 3 is ok though for matches with friends but it still sucks. Even I have to admit that Halo 1 & 2 where great original games, Great Campeign's with good weapons, It is fun playing with friends (Even though in the first the pistol is the most powerful weapon, I beat a sniper at long range O.o). The gameplay was great and this series was a fun series to play.

I do want to say though, That Zelda and Mario are my favourite game series even though I did not mention the series as a whole on this.

OK.. I shall try this out. I'm terrible with putting things in order so.. Yeah.. Anyway, I'll give it a shot.

10. Doom 1/Quake 1
Two of the first games I ever played. They both deserve to be called the Grandfather of all FPS'. Quake was also the first game I ever beat by myself.

9. Left 4 Dead
This is the best Zombie shooter that I have ever played. It has kept me busy for a long time. And is very fun. I still play Online every so often... *Is waiting for an update with a new campaign*

8. Civilization 4/3
Both are very good turn based strategy games, they are deep, strategy wise and are very fun. I can't choose between the two.

7. Pokemon Platinum
Best Pokemon "Extension" ever. It's much better then DP, and deserves a place on my top ten list.

6. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask/Wind Waker
Both are excellent Zelda games. They are unique, fun, interesting and do not copy what ALttP did. I could never choose between the two.

5. Soul Caliber II
Hands down best fighting game ever. Weapons Master mode is very fun, and all of the Characters are interesting and unique. And it's very easy to learn.

4. Final Fantasy X/IV/VI
Best Turn-Based RPGs that I have ever played. They are long and fun, with very deep and enthralling plots. But I could never choose just one of those three.

3. Pokemon Gold/Silver
It's the best of Pokemon in my opinion. And I bet that their remakes coming out soon will be even better.

2. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
This is my favourite Zelda game, and in my opinion, the best. It deserves to be high up on my list.

1. Kirby's Adventure
I like this game just ever so slightly more then ALttP. In my opinion it's the best Kirby game of all time. Nuff' said.

EDIT: Oh crap.. I knew I forgot something. Somewhere up there also goes Banjo and Kazooie (N64) and Goldeneye.

10: Super Mario RPG -- I love this for the music and gameplay. It seems there are three RPGs that dominate the SNES RPGS: This, Earthbound, and Chrono Trigger.

9: Super Mario 64 -- This one doesn't need an explanation. It's the greatest example of the basic format (no weapons included) of a great 3D platformer.

8: Super Mario Bros 3 -- This one also doesn't need an explanation. It's the greatest example of the basic format of a great 2D platformer.

9: Sonic Adventure -- This was the most epic Sonic game. It had new power-ups, a great storyline, and best of all, did not use one bit of stupidity from newer games like Sonic Unleashed, Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Shadow the Hedgehog etc.

8: Ocarina of Time -- How could I leave this one out? This one was the most epic, challenging, fun, and inspiring of every Zelda adventure (even better than Twilight Princess).

7: Link to the Past -- despite not as epic as OoT, it certainly is equally as fun, challenging, and inspiring of them all.

6: Super Mario World -- I love this one. It introduced the Yoshis, which each had a unique ability depending on the color. It also introduced the Switch Mechanic (later reused in SM64 for different hats rather than platforms) which came in handy for unlocking Star Road.

5: Donkey Kong -- The first game with both Mario and DK. I love it. It is one of the greatest arcade clssics ever.

4: Sonic 1-3 (including Knuckles cart for 2 and 3 + Sonic and Knuckles itself) -- Yessir, these are the 6 main games I grew up with. And I loved them. They were all simple, fun, and the chaos emeralds made me really want to play'em. Even today I still have to restart files just because I knocked into a red sphere in Sonic 3.

3: Galaga + Ms. Pac-man -- It's a tie. At the arcade, I would always play Galaga or Ms. Pac man when I was little not to get the high score, but rather for the enhanced play with the joystick and/or the music remix for Galaga.

2: Super Smash Bros Melee -- I love this one most because it was the one that had my favorite roster of characters and graphics. I loved it more than Brawl because I spoiled Brawl for myself by looking at videos of gameplay of it when it wasn't even out in Japan.

1: Altered Beast -- It's one of the kings of beat'em ups. Here's a link to my review: http://fredtherarestpokemon.deviantart.com/art/Altered-Beast-Review-132952395

I don't know if I can specifically put these in favourite order, but here's my top 10 in no particular order (actually, alphabetical). I think I'm basing this more on how many times I replayed the game and sentimentality more than anything. My problem is this seems to be my top 10 for today. Next week, I might have an entirely different opinion. I'm odd that way...

GoldenEye 007 - The only first person shooter I ever got into. I'm a huge James Bond fan, and I didn't know that this game was generating non-Bond fan buzz before buying it. I was clueless as to why it took me weeks to track down a copy. Combine great graphics with memorable Bond music (moreso than the film!) and outstanding gameplay and this one was a hit. The cheats and multiplayer had me coming back many, MANY times.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - I never owned it, but I borrowed it multiple times from various friends. The sprite graphics are some of my favourite from the SNES, and the music is just terrific. I couldn't get enough to combing Hyrule for any secrets I could find. This one kept me company through a bout of sickness as well. It made the time to recovery fly.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - I actually wasn't sure if I'd put this one in here, but it just made it in. So if I was numbering them, this would be 10. I love the game, don't get me wrong though! I'd been in a Zelda lull and this game did help me back into the series. It captivated me. I had half-days in high school and I'd race home to play it all afternoon and evening. I even lost a girlfriend to playing it too much, and frankly, I think this game saved me from a worse fate! :P

Metroid II: Return of Samus - Sure, it's the black sheep of the series, but it's the only game that I played over and over and over and over again in order to get a better and better time. I think my final one was something like 1:36. I have a photo of it somewhere... At any rate, this Metroid got me into the series, the first one just didn't do it for me until much later. I've very fond memories of a friend and I playing this game at the same time on two different systems for days on end, trying to out-do each other.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron - I never cared for flight games, but I was a newly christened Star Wars fan and this game was the bees knees. It pushed the 64's graphics to the limits, and was highly replayable. I played it long after it was not considered current anymore. Great stuff.

Super Mario Bros 3 - It's sad that it's now available for $5 on the VC, since I did chores an entire summer to pay off the $99.99 price tag it was released for. So many levels, so many secrets, so many hours played. Everyone I knew owned this game, and we'd pop it in and play every chance we got.

Super Mario 64 - I think kids of today are spoiled. When this game came out, it was simply jaw dropping. Mario in 3-D was call your relatives, fake an illness to skip work, mind-blowing. I was too old for sleep-overs anymore, but upon playing this, my friends and I had one last sleepover to keep on playing. I don't think anyone slept though.

Super Mario RPG - The only real RPG I ever got into, mainly because of the Mario theme to it. But once I was past that attraction, I found a brilliant RPG laying in wait. I only ever rented this one, but I did so for a few weeks running until I beat it. Excellent gameplay, and highly addictive.

Super Metroid - Scared me stupid for some reason, but wow, what a game. The exploration, the animation, the music, the gameplay - it just all worked here. Great through and through, and probably, along with ALttP, the first game I played that truly felt epic in terms of story. What an ending!

Tetris - How can I not include it? It's the same damn game on every system with a bit of tweaking, yet I've bought it so many times. It's just addictive, and wonderful.

Honourable mentions that would probably rotate in and out depending on my mood -- Smash Bros Brawl, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, LoZ: Twilight Princess, Spider-Man 2, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Battlefront II.

As someone else said I really only play Nintendo games so, here we go.

1) The Legend of Zelda Majoras Mask. Majoras mask is truly a great game for many reasons such as 1) temple structure. I think that the temples especially the last two are just plain crazy.2) Majoras mask is the darkest zelda game in my opinion( I love dark games) and 3) in one of the last scenes of the game where the moon is about to fall the music is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard.

2) The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. Wind Waker is a game with lots of traveling which is something I do like but it can get annoying so I only play in little bits with wind waker. Some reasons that I really like Wind Waker though are the cell shaded graphics, because it added a new twist to zelda, and the figurine gallery. The figurine gallery is the coolest side quest in zelda history.

3) The Legend of Zelda The Twilight Princess. I loved The Twilight Princess for the collecting, Bosses, temples, and the story line. The collecting was very fun but has the original zelda just to it. Like upgrades, and cool new weapons. the bosses in TP are just plain kick but because of their graphics and the strategies to beat them, and the temples were massive and crazy as usual which makes it awesome fun. And finally I really thought the twilight story line was awesome.

4) The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. OOT was my very first zelda game which automatically makes it one of my top tens. it introduced everything to me like the Gorons, and the Zoras, and Kokiri children. I remember being freaked out so much when I was battling ganon I had to ask my dad to beat him for me

5) The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass. Now I don't know why I like Phantom Hourglass so much but I just do. My evidence is I beat it seven times in a month. Other then non-stop playing I liked the touch screen controls and the bosses.

6) Donkey Kong 64. Donkey kong 64 is the best game for collecting. From bananas, upgrades, banana fairies, blueprints, crowns, banana medals, and so on, this game has the most collecting out of every game I've played, and I love games where you have to collect lots of items.

7) Animal Crossing GC. When it comes to lifestyle games I think animal crossing is the best game. Animal crossing GC is a huge game for one reason: it never ends. In animal crossing the seasons change and each season there are different kind of festivals. new people..Or I should say animals are moving in everyday. you can pay off a mortgage and buy furniture. different things are happening each time I play, and it never fails to please me. I can play animal crossing for hours.

8) Final Fantasy: Ring of Fates DS. I liked Ring of Fates for the weapons, armor, and potion upgrades. The game was also good for massive levels too. but the thing that is really cool about the game is that all the characters had different attributes to get through the level.

9) The Pokemon series. I cant choose a certain Pokemon game because they're basically all the same. But what I love about the series is the strategic battling, contests, gym battles, and the evolution of Pokemon.

10)Mario Racing 64 I love Mario racing 64 because I played it all the time as a kid. I still think mario racing 64 is better than the mario racing for GC and Wii.

Brawl, Halo 3 or Pokemon Red. Games I always go back too. I love lots of other games too, but I find it hard to get back into them after a few months of not playing.

My favorite game is probably Super Smash Bros Brawl. There always is a new character or level to unlock. The only thing I don't like is that the last boss seems impossible to beat.

In my opinion, SSBB is too shallow to be my favorite game, I coild never consider a "fighting" game as my favorite.

I don't have a favorite game at all, there are tons occupying the same space in my heart, so I am gonna post 2 for each system I own

N64:

1-The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
2-The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

GCN

1-The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
2-Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

Wii

1-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
2-Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

GB

1-The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
2-Pokémon Red

GBC

1-Pokémon Silver
2-The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

1- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past/Four Swords
2- Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance

NDS

1-Pokémon Platinum
2- Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

PSP

1-Crisis Core-Final Fantasy VII
2-Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles/Symphony of the Night

PS2

I have a few:
-Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
-Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
-Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
-Chrono Trigger
-Super Mario World (Nostalgia's the main reason)
-Final Fantasy IV
-Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal
-Half Life/Half Life 2

Off the top of my head, those are my favorites I've finished. Narrowing it down would be kind of tough though :P

In my opinion, SSBB is too shallow to be my favorite game, I coild never consider a "fighting" game as my favorite.

I agree. SSBB is great. Easily one of the best games for the Wii, and it has tons of replay value. But other games, which go much deeper and get much more emotional, I would call better. You mention Final Fantasy X on your list, and I would also agree there. I'm not one that gets involved in the characters of the game. I usually just play a game for fun or for a good story, without ever really connecting or caring about the characters. FFX broke that rule. While it's hard to explain, FFX opened up an entirely different perspective of games for me. For once, I actually cared about what happened to the made-up characters. I was sad when they were sad, and I was happy when they were happy. I teared up when I saw the ending too because everyone seemed to lose something. Because of this and an amazing turn based battle system, I very well could consider Final Fantasy X to be the best game I've ever played.

Then, of course, there are some games that are pure fun. Mario Galaxy is a prime example in my case. It has no real story, no character development, and pretty much nothing depressing about it. Pretty much the complete opposite of FFX. But, I found the game to be so fun, that it didn't need any of these elements. I could play that game for hours without ever getting bored, just because of its amazing game play. This is the other contender for my favorite game.

I really can't choose between the two. They're both complete opposites, and the both shine in very different spots. But there's no doubt in my mind that FFX and Mario Galaxy are the two single greatest games I've ever played.

Despite not being in my top 10, Earthbound. It is in my opinion the greatest RPG of all time. Especially since it came out in the golden age of home video game consoles.

Picking a favorite game is like picking a favorite child for me, it cannot be done.

If we want to go by system:

N64: Easily Goldeneye 007. That game entertained me for longer than I could even imagine during my childhood, and I honestly think you cannot possibly get bored playing it too much. It may be low leveled compared to some of today's games but, I think it's still the best shooter game I've ever played, and it'll be that for a long time to come.

Gameboy: Pokemon Red/Blue. I think one of the best if not the best RPG game ever made. I can't specifically say which one I'd rather have, because there's little difference other than color and a few pokemon. But I just recently picked up FireRed again, and granted it's graphics are hugely improved, but I played that game all day long for a good week straight, and I did not want to put it down. There's just something about collecting, and strategy, and beating the crap out of other teams that just makes you feel great and want to play more of it.

Gameboy Advance/SP: A Link to the Past. Yes, I know it wasn't originally made for this system, but it was beautiful for sure on it. Probably my second favorite zelda game, it has everything to keep you entertained and wanting to play more of it, and great because I can play whenever and wherever I want to.

Gamecube: Simpsons Hit and Run. A lot may not know the game, but I think it's one of the greats. It's everything from one of my favorite animated shows ever, and I think it's just a game where so many different things can happen, and no race to a simple objective is ever the same, so I keep playing it over and over simply to get a better score and time.

DS: I think it's a tie between 3 different games. Phantom Hourglass, Pokemon Diamond, and Super Mario DS. PH may be a very simple game, but it kept me interested and I simply love the touch screen controls of it so much I keep coming back for more. Pokemon Diamond for the same reasons as Pokemon Red, it keeps me entertained for so long, that I love to play it over and over. And Super Mario DS, because it's everything about the original great, plus more levels, more games, and now you can take it with you wherever you want to. What's not great about that?

Wii: Super Mario Galaxy. Easily. I think this is probably the best Wii game, and one of the best games ever created, yet to be outdone. It's simple yes, but it's Super Mario 64, brought into a much more impressive 3D world, now set in space, with a huge amount of levels I have a hard time even completing, and it's basically all the fun games of, water surfing, transforming into different things and so on, that I'd love to do in real life.

Picking a favorite game is hard for me as well, there are too many good ones, and then there are the decent ones. It's like having a bunch of different pizza boxes in front of you and you don't know from which to pick a slice. (If you love pizza, that is.)

Anyway, I'm gonna have to go with Valkyrie Profile on this one, first ever game and one that I enjoyed much. I spent more than two years playing it over and over.

Top 10 games? That's quite hard to answer, isn't it?
Anyway...

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) - many times I find myself explaining to people why is this my favorite game of all time, so I'll try to describe it with a single word: Unique.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii) - I must admit that my first impressions about this game were not that good, and I did get a bit disappointed at it when I realized it wasn't as complete and "explorable" as OoT. But it's still a Zelda game, and I did enjoy it, in the end.

2-1/2. Super Mario 64 (N64) - my first 3-D experience with my own Nintendo 64. Unforgettable.

3. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) - the first game I ever played, and my first contacts with english. This is a challenging, well elaborated 2-D universe with fantastic puzzles and quests, no way it would be left out of my top 10.

4. Super Mario World (SNES) - this game was one of my first game experiences, and I've been playing it since I was 3. Can't stop.

4-1/2. Super Paper Mario (N64) - awesome rpg for the Nintendo 64, with different quests and characters, it's one of the most different games I've ever seen.

5. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES) - even though I only got to play this game many years after it came out, I loved it. To me, this was one of the greatest games of the Super Mario series.

6. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) - it took me a while to get used to its gameplay, but it turned out to be an amazing Mario title.

7. Super Mario Kart (SNES, N64, GBA, Wii) - having the N64 version as my favorite, this whole series was always capable of providing fun and entartainment, for many years. SNES battle mode for the win.

8. Excite Bike 64 (N64) - I haven't seen this title being nominated in here yet, but why am I not surprised? This was such a bizzare game. In terms of gameplay, it was truly revolutionary. I think the problem is that it wasn't such an acclaimed game before it came out on its 3-D performance.
How many titles to the Nintendo consoles mix motor bike races with bizzare and unique atmospheres, special "mini-games" and funny challenges?

9. F-ZERO (SNES, N64 --still waiting for the Wii one) - different from the other race games. Frenetic.

10. 007 Golden Eye (N64) - I think anyone who got to play this game's multiplayer mode knows what it feels like. Even though this isn't the kind of game I usually like and recommend, this was one of the most fun multiplayers of all time.

- I did play many PS games and I must say that the only games that go beyond entertainment are the Big N's classics. No way games such as Grand Theft Auto can compete with A Link to the Past. Forget it.

LOZ TP is my favorite. lov the graphics and the intricate story line. it's the first one that i ever played, and it helps me with the other LOZ games. but if we are talking about other games besides zelda, then i would have to say Super Smash Bros Brawl, and MySims Kingdom. :)

All right, I think I'll do a top 10, just because I love so many games(Now with explanations!):
1.Tales Of Symphonia (GameCube)-An amazing RPG with the most awesome combat system ever. It is in complete real time, but with enemy encounters. You must try it!
2.Shining In The Darkness (Genesis)-The best Genesis game there is. Shining In The Darkness is an amazing First Person RPG. It isn't that complex compared to other FPRPG's, so it is easy to get into. Great bosses and soundtrack, you owe it to yourself to try this one out.
3.Mother 3 (GBA)-I laughed. I cried. I jumped for joy. I have never experienced such mixed emotions while playing any game before. This is an excellent turn based RPG with an excellent story and neat rythym combat system. I find it very difficult to explain this game but all I know is that you definitley should play this game.
4.The Hobbit (GBA)-Very similar to Zelda, this game combines RPG elements with puzzles, platforming and hack and slash action. All this combined with a classic tale is the making for a great game.
5.Zelda: A Link To The Past (SNES/VC)-There really is much I can say that hasn't already been said about this marvel of a game. It is simply the best Zelda game out there, and I am sure that most of you will understand my logic; it is the perfect Zelda Formula.
6.Monster Hunter (PS2)-An amazing action RPG. Some people say that because the online server is closed it is no fun to play. That is a lie. This is still an amazing game, and I still recommend playing it for the online experience.
7.Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3/360)-The best FPS out there. I am sure many of you have already experienced this marvel of a game, but if you haven't, BUY IT. Also, if you have a PS3, add me!
8.Super Mario 64 (N64/VC) Not much I could say hasn't already been said, but I will add one statement of my own: Ultimate Plarformer.
9.Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Genesis)-This is, in my opinion, the ultimate 2D platformer. Not the ultimate platformer (I said Mario 64 is the ultimate) but the ultimate one done in 2D. I am so gald I own an original Genesis copy.
10.Pokemon Crystal (GBC)-The best Pokemon game. Go play it. You will be hooked on this marvel of a game.

I'm not entirely sure what my favourite game is, but I think it might be The World Ends With You. Brilliant, thoughtful story, well-developed characters, great dialogue (which is often absolutely hilarious), fast-paced battle system that still requires strategy, neither too easy nor too hard...I could go on. The only thing I didn't like about it was Tin Pin Slammer (the minigame).

Ratchet and Clank either Going Commando or A Crack in time.

My favourite game would have to be MOTHER 3. It has one of the first stories I actually cared about and it refined the gameplay from MOTHER 2(Earthbound), which was just great and made it better. It was also the first game that I didn't wait months to play through it again, I started a new game just a day after I beat it and then beat it again that week.

Then again, thinking about it, my favourite "Game" might be a series of games, the entire MOTHER series, since they were all really enjoyable.

My favorite would have have to be Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. This game has a great plot and storyline and there are lots of places you can explore.

My favorite game? That one will be hard, but if I were to choose one, I would probably say Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario 64 comes in a close second. Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite because the graphics were amazing and the music beautiful, and you could be Mario or Luigi (once you unlocked him). It was also more of a challenge because you would have to work with the flow of gravity sometimes, and your health was 3, unless you grabbed a Life Shroom, which was rare.

I would have to say my favorite video game is Pokemon Silver Version. Nothing against gold but Silver has held a place in my heart since I got it back when it came out 10 years ago. The remake is very good as well but nothing beats the nostalgic feeling I get playing that game.

Gah! This is going to be incredibly tough!

#5. Super Smash Bros Brawl

A giant among fighting games. Seriously, with so many classic characters like Mario and Luigi, a kick butt adventure mode, the ability to make stages, and tracks from the many games that the characters are from it's hard not to put it in a top five games of all time list.

#4. Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

Yeah that's right, I like ST more than OoT and it was still only number four! I still love it, as well as all the other Zelda games and stuff, but it's so dang hard to decide!

#3. Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver

This is a truly awesome game. Not only is it flipping Generation II, it's also got a ton of awesome added stuff like the Kimono Girls becoming characters who help you (and add a bit of mystery) throughout the Johto quest (whom were just some random trainers you fought in Ecruteak City in the original versions), your Pokemon follow you, PokeAthalons, and so much more!

#2. New Super Mario Bros Wii

What can I say? It's a terrific game, and by far the best Mario game yet. It's one of the hardest games I've ever played, and for all the right reasons! :D I enjoy it so, so much!

#1. WarioWare DIY

Okay, if you saw this coming, you seriously deserve a cookie right now. WarioWare DIY is a very fun game, what with being able to make your own games, music, and graphics! Sorry about all that, but I can't streess enough that you get to do just about everything that a game designer would do, all in a neat little user friendly package. The tutorials are actually pretty funny and entertaining, and I sometimes go through them just to go through them! I just cannot stress enough the fact that you can do everything on your own! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

4. Paper Mario and the Thousand-Year Door (GC) It took the masterpiece that was Paper Mario 64, improving the difficulty and creating a hilarious story, thus creating one of the best Gamecube games of all time.

3. Assassin's Creed (PS3, XBox 360) My love for ancient history might have created a large love for this game when I first discovered it, but its ingenious gameplay and overall fun adventure had just created a masterpiece. When I play Assassin's Creed II, it might just topple this game.

2. Dark Cloud (PS2) Highly unknown game like Kameo, this game gave a unique gameplay system, along with an amazing storyline to create one of the best adventures on the PS2 system.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB, GBC) Surprised? Probably. Truly being one of Zelda's oddballs, Link's Awakening had a unique storyline, characters, and was overall just a highly enjoyable game. :)

1.Pokemon Silver- I've owned this since it was released, and I still say it's better than the originals. IT had more pokemon, and it's easy to pick up speed. Most new Pokemon games make the beginning VERY slow, much like the Earthbound series, so it's hard for me to take interest. The difference is that the new pokemon games don't give you much to start you off; just a starter, a normal type, a flying type, and if you're lucky, a grass type. Pokemon Silver didn't make you do that. You could catch a few bugs, a normal type, a ghost type, and a rock type.
2.Sin & Punishment- Best N64 game ever. Conker was fine and dandy, but it felt more like Super Mario 64 with guns, porn, and blood. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but hot darn this game is awesome. It's almost like an arcade style shooter. If they put this and SF64 in the arcades, they'd fit right in. Heck, Sin & Punishment could beat out Time Crisis, House of the Dead, and those crappy hunting games. With a complicated SciFi story that sucks you right in and a first level that just throws you right into the action, you'll thank me after I recommend this.
3.WarioWare: Smooth Moves- This is the first game I ever got for the Wii, and it is SO much better than Wii Sports. It's a minigame collection, but it's the best one of them all! It has spot-on controls and an addictive style. It's a hit at parties too.
4.Earthbound- This is better than Chrono Trigger. It has a unique style, makes a lot of pop-culture references, has one of the freakiest bosses ever, and it's an overall fun RPG. Now I did say that it is slow in the beginning, but if you take time to over-level in the beginning, you'll blast through the rest of the game and wanna do it again.
5.Glover 64/Billy Hatcher- Same game, but I slightly prefer the style of Glover, but I slightly prefer the control and layout of Billy Hatcher. Since they're both basically the same game, I chose'm both. They both involve carting around a giant spherical object and trying to stop some black mage. It's not highly addictive, but it's certainly fun.
Honorable Mention: Super Smash Bros Melee- This is the best game in the series. The soundtrack can easily set the mood for a battle, victory, or dance. the graphics are sleek and shiny, unlike it's dusty ugly cousin on the Wii. Also unlike Brawl, gravity applies. The trophies are also actually interesting to read about. As a wrap-up (because this is the longest post so far), the roster is great, and the clones are actually different from eachother if you take the time to actually play as them for more than 1 second.

Well, I just finished making my all-time Top 10 list, so I hope that y'all don't mind if I post those...

10. Diddy Kong Racing (1997)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/DiddyKongPic1.jpg?t=1278996074
While, admittedly, my inclusion of this title is based partially on nostalgia (along with a couple of other entries on this list), having just finished playing through all of these games again, I was surprised to find that Diddy Kong Racing still holds up extremely well. While, on the surface, the game comes across as just another Mario Kart-esque racer, it has this sense of adventure to it that no other entry in this genre has been able to provide since. On top of that, the game has one of the catchiest soundtracks out there!

9. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (2003)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/WindWakerPic1.png?t=1278995301
A breath of fresh to the established Zelda formula (even having come off of Majora’s Mask), The Wind Waker is a one-of-a-kind gaming experience. Yes, the Triforce scavenger hunt that pops up towards the end of the quest is tedious to say the least, but with a story that deftly handles with themes of loss and moving on towards the future, a fluid, engaging combat system, a musical score that comes shining through at just the right moments, and a visual style that is sure to hold up for console generations to come, it’s a small price to pay.

8. BioShock (2007)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/BioShockPic1.jpg?t=1278995335
If there’s one thing that this title does better than just about every other game on this list, it’s in having a world that I found myself just wanting to get lost in. Whether it’s an audio diary accompanied by the body of a deceased Splicer, or just a simple advertisement hanging from the wall, virtually every inch of this failed utopia has something interesting to investigate. Everything, from the art deco aesthetic, to the twisted, bizarre ecology of the underwater city of Rapture, to the ambitious tale of discovery and betrayal, makes BioShock one of the relatively few examples of fine art within this medium.

7. Star Fox 64 (1997)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/StarFox64Pic1.jpg?t=1278995969
Ranging from about forty-five minutes to an hour long depending on which route the player took, Star Fox 64 is a shining example of a “short but sweet” playing experience. The action is quick and engaging, the levels carefully constructed, and the dialogue memorable as all hell. It’s the one game on this list that I could play through every day and never get sick of it.

6. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/OoTPic1.jpg?t=1278995404
While it seems as though every Top 10 list that you come across has some spot reserved for Ocarina of Time, it’s not without good reason. The game set the standard for console adventure titles, with a revolutionary lock-on targeting system, a lengthy quest, a bittersweet story, and – again, as with Wind Waker – a musical score that will forever be engrained in my noggin.

5. Mass Effect 2 (2010)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/ME2Pic1.jpg?t=1278995435
Game developers take notice: this is how to do a sequel correctly. This is a title that trumps its predecessor in literally every way possible, and then some. Virtually all of the characters feel fleshed out, the side quests are fully realized missions that – unlike in most other RPGs that I’ve played – I actually wanted to take part in, and the moral dilemmas carry a much heavier weight to them, making me feel as though the fate the galaxy rests solely in my hands. On top of all that, however, Mass Effect 2 shows just how cinematic video games can be, with one of the most stirring finales that I’ve ever experienced within any medium.

4. Banjo-Kazooie (1998)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/BanjoPic1.jpg?1278996014
This is a game that, along with the other Nintendo 64 titles on this last, has been a favorite of mine ever since I was a kid. Thanks to Super Mario 64, the platform genre eventually began to go downhill, thanks to whole array of uninspired clones. There were a few gems to come out of this, however, with perhaps the finest being Banjo-Kazooie. It has everything that I could want from a game of this genre, from its unique move-set brought on by having one of the strangest duos in gaming history, to its catchy soundtrack, to its insanely memorable worlds. But what really makes Banjo-Kazooie special, for me, is its goofy, self-aware personality that almost no other game has managed to capture since. Almost no other game…

3. Halo Trilogy (2001-2007)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/HaloTrilogy-1.jpg?t=1278995836
Yeah, I know that I’m technically cheating on this spot by including three games, but the saga of Master Chief is one that just feels like such a singular piece that I couldn’t pick one entry over the others. While the combat itself is more engaging than that of any other game that I’ve played, what I really love about this trilogy is the universe in which this conflict takes place. As with Mass Effect 2 and BioShock, the world of Halo is one that actually feels alive, with its artfully crafted backstory and memorable characters. In short, saving the galaxy has never been so much fun.

2. Conker’s Bad Fur Day (2001)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/ConkerPic1.jpg?t=1278995520
Without trying to cut my thoughts on this one short, Bad Fur Day is a game whose awesomeness is hard to describe. Try to imagine a version of Banjo-Kazooie that continually swaps genres - where the adult humor isn’t being hidden, and what you’ve essentially got is Conker’s Bad Fur Day. Filled to the brim with classic movie parodies, it’s one of the funniest pieces of entertainment that I’ve ever had the privilege of experiencing.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (2006)
http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa201/RareAddict/ZeldaTPPic1.jpg?t=1278995547
Just like with Conker (but for different reasons), it’s difficult to go into words and describe how much this game means to me, even after having finished it again earlier today. It doesn’t do the game justice by simply calling it “the definitive Zelda experience” (even if it isn’t the most challenging). Gameplay is, of course, ultimately the most important factor in a video game. Otherwise, I’d not to be able to enjoy the rest of the experience nearly as much. However, what’s made several of the titles on this list (Twilight Princess included) so memorable is how their stories, while working in tandem with all of the other aspects of the game, have effected me emotionally. Yes, the game has the exhilarating combat, as well as the devilish puzzles and intense boss battles, but it’s the beautifully melancholy story (and who I consider to be the star of the game, Midna, in particular) that makes the game truly special. Simply put, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess encapsulates just about everything that I love about gaming, and it’s a tale that I’ll never forget.

I feel like 25 is too many...but I definitely rank Super Mario World and A Link to the Past in the top 5. I mean, if I came up with 25 games, it would just be arbitrary after about 10 or 11 because I'd just be trying to fill it up to 25.

Okay I see people are having problems with making a list. Just try to think a bit more critical, believe it or not but I haven't played or passed some of the games on my list. Just judge from games you've played or seen. If it were up to me I would of put Twilight Princess on my list (That being my 3rd favorite Zelda game and all) but I didn't, I put the first Zelda instead, because It is a classic and was so good and something new for it's time. It's okay how you feel later about your list, I know I'm not very happy about mine and I know it will change depending on how I feel later and as I keep playing games. Feel free to make new lists if you feel like it, I know I will.

A quick tip, try to see all your games and remember other games and add the ones you feel really deserve to be your Top 25 by reminiscing about the games and by seeing which ones you thought stood out of the entire bunch. Yes this list requires thinking so do it.:P
