Hi all!
I couldn't find this when I used the search, so here it is!
In this thread, you can talk about the following:
- What was your Scarecrow's Song?
- Did you find it helpful?
- Did you get it?
- Did you get it in OoT or MM, or both?
And anything else to do with the scarecrow's song.
Here is how my Scarecrow's Song goes, it is very special to me, because it was made by my brother 7 years ago when he played the Ocarina of Time, so I use it too:
------------------------------------------
-----(^)--------(^)--------------(^)-----
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
--(A)----(v)-(A)----(v)------(A)----------
------------------------------------------
(If the note is bold, it means it is played longer than the others, all the other notes were played fast.) ^^

I don't remember the song I made it but I did not get it so it was not helpful.Although when I did get it it helped me get a heart piece.I got it near the end of the game cause I didn't feel like changing from kid to adult over and over agin, it was quite a pain>.<.

I never really used the scarecrow's song. I always used extensive ways of getting on to ledges...
Like in the shadow temple, I used the longshot to get the gold skultula
on the wall beside the ship.
I'm not even gonna say how I got the Gold Skulltula in Dodongo's cavern that was in the one closed in hallway. ugh.

Mine is usually a UDUDUDUD as fast as I could put it in. Didn't sound good or anything but it was easy to remember if I took a long time between plays.

I don't remember my song, I didn't use it in MM and I only found it helpful a few times. I found it helpful in the fire temple when you got the golden rupee and in the sacred forest meadow when you could hop over all the moblins to get to the fairy fountain, even though I would usually just warp to the forest temple and back-track to get to the fairy fountain.

I've made mine the Elegy of Emptiness from Majora's Mask before, just with an added note (need 8 total):
---------------------(^)---------
-----(<)-----------------(<)-----
-(>)-----(>)-----(>)------------- (+1?)
-------------(v)-----------------
---------------------------------
Right now, I'm just doing something I can remember:
-(^)-----------------------------
-----(<)-------------------------
---------(>)---------------------
-------------(V)-----------------
-----------------(A)-(A)-(A)-(A)-
I remember doing this in one of my files in OoT but never MM, what does it do? I've never really bothered to do it before but since im replaying OoT anyways i guess I'll do it.

Sometimes when Navi turns green, you can play the Scarecrow's Song to make a scarecrow you can hookshot appear.

Well, mine is just a backwards version of the Sun's Song. It was kinda helpful in the Shadow Temple and the Gerudo Fortress.

My Scarecrow's Song was based loosely on the Oath to Order from Majora's Mask. All the "^" and "A" notes were followed by a very brief pause. Here it is:
^ > v A ^ > v A
I thought it was very useful. In fact, I always thought it was required for certain secrets in OoT... I don't get it when I hear people saying it isn't...
I didn't get it in MM. I didn't know you could... >.<

I never really found the Scarecrow's song to be all that useful. I think I made one the first or second time I went through OoT, but I usually don't bother with it when I start re-playing the game again. Is there anything you can get with it besides rupees?

I was under the impression that there was at least a Gold Skulltula you can't get without it, but I might be wrong.

Hmm, I remember getting all the Skulltula on one file, but I haven't attempted to do it since, so I wouldn't know.

I never got the point of it? I never can find the next scarecrow to sing it to!:(
But my Scarecrow Song was: down, down, left, left,up,up,right, right, down, down. Thats pretty much it I think. I really don't remmeber it the best.:(

Doesn't it help you get a gold skulltella in the fire temple? The one in the tower (the opposite one to the tower).

Like I said above, I was under the impression that there were several Gold Skulltulas that required the Scarecrow's Song to reach.
Can someone tell me if I'm right or wrong on this?

All of the golden skulltulas that I can think of can be hit by the longshot.
Like Axel said, correct me if I'm wrong!
But I think that the Scarecrow Song is needed to get several pieces of heart... I think.
Oh, mine is right, A A A A A A A A A

Yes, I think you're correct, I remember two locations already that don't even require Scarecrow's Song, yet a scarecrow can appear there.
One is in the water temple, in the centre column, there is a golden skulltula very high up, and you can use your longshot to get closer to it, even though you don't need to.
Another one is in the main room of the Spirit Temple, there is a scarecrow on a lone platform next to a golden skulltula, and like before, you don't even need to use the scarecrow.

Right now, I'm just doing something I can remember:
-(^)-----------------------------
-----(<)-------------------------
---------(>)---------------------
-------------(V)-----------------
-----------------(A)-(A)-(A)-(A)-
I kind of did the same thing, except that I had 5 A's on the beginning. It didn't sound good whatsoever, but it was easy to remember. And that's the most important bit =D.
I did use it, and I've actually just recently found that lots of those spots where Navi turns green and hovers over nothing are times for the song. It gave you access to several heart pieces, golden skulltulas, etc. And I know it was needed to get the one Skulltula in the Shadow Temple, in the Boat Room, because there was a fence-type obstruction blocking Hookshot access.
But I never knew there was a Scarecrow's Song in MM.

You didn't? This is how:
You can get the Scarecrow's song in Majora's Mask by going to the main shop (where they sell shields, potions and whatnot) and they don't accept customers with masks in Clock Town, on the left of the room, there is a Scarecrow, play a song for him and that'll be the scarecrow's song until you use the Song of Time.
It's quite annoying to have to relearn a lot.

I don't remeber what my scracrew song originally was. I think I used the song of healing notes for it after I played MM every time I'd play OoT.

The scarescrow's song helped me get ontop of the Laboraty.
Indeed, you could use that instead of the Magic Bean to get the heart piece a top of the building.
You could also use it to get into the fishing hole as an adult before beating the Water Temple.
Also in the Sacred Meadow in Lost Woods, to get atop and snipe down the moblins. =D

the one i used was from WW, it was one of the Aria's.but with two extra noters. it was:
up,up,down, right, left, right,up,down(last 2 were added) also what would happen if u used the Bolero of Fire as the SS? seeing how its the only song with 8 notes?

......Not very creative, but easy to remember.

I didnt really see a point 2 the scarecrow song bcause the areas that u access w/ the scarecrow can usually be reached another way.

I tried on MM to just do UP 8 times but the scarecrow said something about it not being creative so I just did Up,UP,Up,A twice.
I think that The Scarecrow Song is stupid to a certain extent. It's good to have at a couple of spots but only if you want to get EVERYTHING on the game.
But other than that. Ehhhhh......

when i played my ocarina against the scarcrow i put in a bunch of notes and couldnt remember, now that i have my nintendo 64 broken, mine would be v,>,^,<,(long pause)v,>,<,A, thats mine right there i would use and the commas dont mean pauses there to seperate the notes
Mine in OoT is up,up,down, down, left, right, left, right,a. It's the Contra code, I have already memorized the code so it would be easier to use this.

I think my song went something like < ^ > > > v A ^
I actually had to write it down a few times because I kept forgetting it when I took weeklong breaks from OoT. :(

Then you never got all the heart pieces, did you? If I am not mistaken, the heart piece on the road to Snowhead (with the ramps) requires the Scarecrow song and I think so does the heart piece in Great bay near pirates fortress....

Mine was up, up, down, down, right, right, left, left. I don't know why I made it that way, but all the notes are fast so it was pretty cool for me. It still is. Yay, Scarecrow's Song! No, by the way I didn't get it in Majora's Mask because I always thought of it as a hassle just to go there then leave, but if I want to use it for something I will. However, I did use it for OoT, and I always wondered what I could possibly do with the location at Zora's Fountain. The only purpose I found was being able to snipe blue tectites with Ice Arrows in the future, and trust me, it's satisfying.

I'm actually playing OoT at the moment. My current Scarecrow's Song is the Oath to Order with A, A. on the end. In Majora's Mask, I used a similar adaptation of Saria's Song.
I think that I've used the Scarecrow's Song perhaps once while playing Ocarina of Time, though I've never made an effort to find all the Skulltulas, Heart Pieces, and such. Perhaps it will be more useful this time.
I did use it four or five unique occasions while playing Majora's Mask. The Scarecrow is pretty invaluable if you're "investigating" the Stone Tower Temple.

Well, I never made a Scarecrow's Song in MM, because I find it completely useless. I mean, what's the point of learning it, while you can't do anything with it (yes, I know there are two heart pieces you can take with it, but again...it's useless)
Wait a minute, there is a Scarecrow's song in OoT?! Wow, I didn't even know that...

I don't usually get the SS, but when I do I don't do anything fancy: >>>>>>>
I always assign the Ocarina to right C, so when I want to play the scarecrow song I just keep hitting right C until it plays. Lazy yeah lol, but meh.

I found the Scarecrow's song decently useful. It allows you to get some heart pieces, as well as some skultulas. It even gets you into a couple places early (fishing pond before Water Temple completion). Mine is always the same thing, a cop out song of down, A, down, A, repeated until I can't use them anymore. I've always wanted to create a complicated one that sounds good, but if I forget it it's kind of a pain to go back and make the scarecrow learn a different song, so I never bother.
