South park is awesome! Like when Cartman dresses like the robot awesom-o (or something like that). And if you know the series well, this comment: -They surely are crips. Hilarious!!

I can't stand South Park. I've seen a little bit of a few episodes, and that was all I needed to see to know what whether I'd like it or not. It's basically the complete opposite of something I'd watch. 'Cause I'm not into Family Guy, The Simpsons, Futurama, etc. But South Park is worse than all of them IMO. *Suspects I will get hate messages o.O*

I really don't watch any of those shows THAT much, but from what I've seen Family Guy seems to be funnier. (Isn't that the purpose of Simpsons,Family Guy, American Dad ect.?)

I like South Park because they are not afraid to go after anyone and anything. If you deserve ridicule, there is a decent chance that you will get ridiculed.

South Park used to be an epic show. Back in the days of N64, the WWE Attitude era, etc. Those were the Golden Years of my childhood. But now, I never do watch South Park. I rarely catch an episode on and even then I don't hardly watch them. Its just one of those things that kinda faded with the era which it was established in for me.

That's exactly what happens to me nowadays, i prefer watching to other series instead of this one... It's just... it starts to look too dumb and imature to me

Actually, SP has gotten more political as the series went on. Its now basically a format for Trey Parker and Matt Stone to voice their opinions.

I am a large South Park fan, I have never watched an episode that has not made me laugh, It is so funny no matter how offensive it gets. Also Kenny always killing himself was funny and you have to love all the songs that they have sung through out the past, Recently though (Towards the end of last year) didn't the guy that voiced Chef die, I think it is a real Shame, Chef had some really funny parts and even had 1 or 2 songs as well.
I am surprised they have not been sued that many times that they stopped making it. I will always be a fan of South Park. Even our teacher's watch it. On a school trip to Belgium we had spare time and we were filcking through the TV channels in our room and we happened to find an english channel with South Park on , Just as it was starting our our teacher walked into our room (Since we left the door open) and asked what we were watching, When we said South Park I thought he might want us to turn it off but he just sat down on the end of one of our beds and watched it with us .

Which is ironic, since one of their biggest complaints is that people are too willing to act like sheep and not think for themselves. Its no wonder they sometimes make snide remarks toward their fans.

I've seen every episode ever made lol. I LOVE TREY PARKER. one of the funniest men alive. If you want to watch south patk go to www.allsp.com (http://www.allsp.com) or www.southparkzone.com (http://www.southparkzone.com). Both good.
And someone said they prefer simpsons to family guy and south park. I understand it is possible to prefer the simpsons to south park as they are completely different, but how can you prefer it to family guy? Simpsons used to be good, I admit, but now, all it does is try really hard to be family guy.

Yeah it is always funny when the joke gets turned around on fans. You won't see hacks like Stewart or Colbert make jokes at the expense of the fan base since they crave the approval and, essentially, canned laughter they get from their empty headed audiences for the same redundant jokes.

Let me just get this straight. Colbert and Stewart, who run politically based comedy shows, which require a moderate amount of outside background knowledge on modern political, social, and worldly events, require less intelligence than South Park? South Park = redundancy. I've watched only three episodes in my entire life, and it consisted of the same swearing, sexual jokes, and radical political views directed at the empty headed fanbase who accept them as gospel.

Please, Colbert and Stewart both rely almost entirely on getting the approval of the clapping seals they call an audience.
Matt and Trey are both far more creative, original and free thinking than those hacks. But seeing as how you've only watched 3 episodes you wouldn't know this. There are many episodes of South Park where the underlying message of the show has gone against what I believe but since they are equal opportunity offenders that is a given.
But I guess as long as you are getting your world view spoon fed to you and not risking challenging anything you hold dear, you are happy laughing on cue to Stewart's simpering little facial expressions and tired jokes. You are still young, you might grow up.

Oh don't take me wrong. I can't even remember the last time I watched the Colbert Report. Probably a year or more ago. Secondly, I never listen to what Colbert or Stewart says and believe what they're saying. You know why? Because they're comedians. They do what they do for a living, nothing more. The same can't necessarily be said about Matt and Trey, who enjoy spreading their views because they feel they need to.
And yes, I'm afraid I can't form an in-depth opinion of the show partly because I've only seen three episodes. However, on the flip-side, sometimes I feel like 3 is all I ever needed to see. (or wanted to) I saw one that had even the slightest iota of intelligence behind it, and that was the 9/11 episode. I'll give you that. Sure, every once in a while they'll release an episode that takes on the semblance that they have a clue what they're talking about. But then you've got the other two episodes I saw, which consisted entirely of jokes involving fecal matter and sexual innuendos. As if I don't hear enough of those from the undeveloped middle school minds at my school every day.
Ultimately we're arguing a moot point. Arguing opinion is as pointless as arguing religion. No one is swayed, everyone wins and loses at the same time. To be honest, this argument had nothing to do with Colbert to start with; I simply hate South Park. That's a given. If you watch it, that's fine, but I tend to get very testy about that show.

The South Park video game for the n64 was pretty great too, of what I remember. I don't know if anyone else remembers playing this, but it was gold. Seems like a lot of shows and movies these days come out with video games that are less than mediocre, but back in the good ole days of the 64, the games were great.

This is a hate message, FOR THE SHOW SOUTH PARK(PUKE)!!! I agree with you, I can't stand South Park either. I hate the cussing, I hate the bloody violence, I hate their crude humor (if you ask me its not EVEN humor), and most of all I hate what they do with all of the kid shows we used to (and I still do, most of them) know and love. I especially can't stand the thought that Link was in South "Puke". AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!>:(
ITS A DISGRACE!!!!!
A hero that loved, that honorable, that holy, that righteous, does not belong in such an EVIL show! Ganondorf I could understand, BUT NOT LINK!!!!! *I suspect I will get hate messages too*
I also hate Robot Chicken. CURSE THEM BOTH!!!

Oh god, lololol. I know cussing isn't acceptible, but your acting quite like a child. Its a part of our world, so get used to it. Your gonna hear it every where you turn. And it is pretty hilarious to see a kid cuss out his teacher like Cartman does. No, its not "ethical", but who cares? People who want to set and fight to get stuff like that off TV because it "goes against their beliefs" or "morals", like the FCC. Its really easy to just turn the channel and not watch the show at all.

Yeah, but unfortunately most children won't do that. Instead they'll choose to imitate the disgusting behavior on the show in real life. You know that kid in third or fourth grade that just doesn't seem to care about anything and swears at everyone, including the teachers? Yeah, you know where it's from.

Right. The blame falls back on the show when its the kid's parents actually who should be doing a better job at monitoring their children. There's a lot of technology today, like the V-chip, that allows for certain shows and/or channels to be censored on TV sets, but no one pays attention to that. They want to blame a show, rated for older audiences, on its content, rather than the parents who let their kids watch it.
Children naturally like things like that. In my opinion, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the things that South Park uses as a base for their shows. Sure, sometimes a lot of it is exaggerated and such, but the very basic ideas, nudity, flatulence, cussing, is not as bad as people like to think it is. To children, those things are funny. Before an adult can even tell the kid that its wrong, they think its hilarious. Its human instinct to be fascinated by things like this, but then you have people telling the kids that its wrong and gross and all that, which turns them into robots.
Now I'm not saying that violence should be shown to kids and laughed about, or that kids should be encouraged to cuss, not at all. Just that these things can be observed and laughed at, while also letting the kid know that they are indecent to do in public. Or else, as I said above, just don't let the kid watch it.
linkman8
07-05-2009, 04:41 PM
However, with some kids, that would be giving them mixed messages. Telling them it's OK to watch the show and to laugh at it, but then warning them that what they do on TV is bad. Besides, you're right in saying that parents should monitor their children more closely with things like this. The problem is: Too many parents don't care, and that reflects apathy on our very society itself.

Let me say something that has probably already been said. Kids, turn off the TV. Parents, get a f****** life. Just don't worry about what everyone else is watching and watch your own programs, and if you kid is watching something that you don't like, turn the TV off. Fans, Isn't it awesome, or what? FCC, go lick you dog's b****.

South Park is truly and awesome series, although the quality of some of the more recent episodes has been rather low in terms of comic value, in particular season 12, although the most recent episodes of season 13 were good.

I love South Park. Futurama is still my favorite, though. Family Guy I get incredibly bored with really quickly, but South Park and Futurama always keeps me interested. South Park does a lot of crazy and offensive things, but a lot of times they'll say things that a lot of people in the media are too afraid to say. As for the argument that kids will watch the show and emulate the behavior they see on it...well, to that I say that the parents should be keeping a better eye on what their kids are doing.
