What would you like Sailing to be like if it returns in the next games?
I would mostly have more pirate raids and storms that could actually shipwreck you.
I've never really been a huge fan of the actual pirate aspect, I kinda like just sailing and getting from place to place. I would like it to maybe go a little faster, or shorter distances to next places so the sailing does go quicker.

I like sailing just the way it is.
It's relaxing, and gives me a break from the main game.

It would be cool to use a horse and a boat, so maybe a little more action on boat too, but not too much.

I really didn't like sailing in WW
It always took so long and I kept getting bored
So I would like FASTER sailing

I like the sailing idea with okterrokks. maybe even sailing small boats in rivers. I really like Sailing in Zelda ^^

It would be much better if there were thing that you could find to made you ship go faster.

I'd like there to be a decent sized ocean to sail in, but also lots of land to run around instead of just islands. Being completely surrounded by ocean is okay, but I'd like it a lot better if there was a balance between WW and TP (just thrown out as an example). So you have Hyrule Field or some other big field, but the ocean would be a part of the main quest and you could go sailing as well.

I really like HH's idea. It would be so cool. Because sometimes I feel that many islands are too small.

I also really like HH's idea. And, I really enjoyed sailing in WW. But, what I wish is that you could sail without any monsters bothereing you. I sometime just like to look around with my telescope, and just stop in the middle of the ocean. If there were no monsters to bother you, then sailing would be even more relaxing!

I'd like it not to take as long and be a little more interesting.
Also, make ship to ship or ship to monster battles a little funner. I wouldn't mind being able to board enemy ships, either.

If sailing returns,I hope it will be like sailing in WW,not like the sailing in PH.

I think that if sailing returns, it should be on a much smaller scale than WW/PH. I wouldn't mind having to sail a bit to get to a certain island, maybe a different province, if it was a large one. I mean, you do all that sailing in WW and find... a little dinky island that's only purpose is to hold the pearls. I hated that.

Just make bigger islands to explore or large landmass' to sail between. The sailing was fine, just make it less tedious and things will work out great.

If sailing returns, I want the following:
A. A larger ocean
I love, love, love having a wider range to explore. Especially the massive ocean within Wind Waker (compared to Phantom Hourglass, of course). This would of course, only be more enjoyable with the following...
B. An increased amount of islands
If there were more islands, even simple minor ones with secret hidden treasures or mini-games, it would be incredibly fun while exploring the seas.
C. A larger variety of islands
I'd be pleased to see islands with more activities, various races, and new challenges and methods learned at each island. An island with extreme differences in terrain (i.e. canyons, forests, tundra, etc) like we have seen before. I'd also like to see an underwater 'island', or rather undersea cavern where Link could swim into and explore.
I want there to be more adventure, more challenges, and overall, a longer game. With sailing and these additions to sailing, I am sure it would give all three of those wants.

If sailing returns, I would simply want it to be a combination of what we have in WW, and what we have in PH. Wind Waker's sailing was (imo) the better sailing of the two games. But what made the sailing in PH so awesome was being able to actually go into the ship and look around, and also being able to upgrade your ship.
I think, like many others, there should be more ocean area, as well as more things to do on the ocean, so that the whole sailing thing is something that you do more of.
But mainly I would like to see WW type sailing, with boat upgrades like in PH. You could say get a faster boat, an actual boat with a hull rather than a small sailboat (which you would probably start out with), and you could design your ship, stuff like that I think would be great. It would also be kool to be able to auto pilot the ship once you got a big enough one, then be able to walk in and out/around the ship as it sailed. This would mean that you could like, shoot arrows at sea enemies, throw bombs, do basically whatever you needed to do right from your ship rather than being confined to a few boat tools like in WW/PH.

i think there should be a whole dungeon using the ship.

i think there should be a whole dungeon using the ship.
I was kinda thinking the same thing. However, the Tower of the Gods did use the ship in Wind Waker for different things in order to progress. Link alone couldn't have beaten the dungeon the way it was set up. So I think we partly have experienced using the ship for a dungeon. But yes, it would be kool to see possibly an entire dungeon using the ship and its various (new) abilities.

I really enjoyed sailing, it was a favourite of mine, however, I wasn't too big a fan of the whole Pirate thing.
I don't mind there being pirates and having them occasionally attack you if you drift too close...But I really would care for being attacked and being shipwrecked and all. I would rather just spend hours sailing.
If it could fit in well enough into the game, I'd definitely like to see sailing in the future.

Sailing retuning would be good. But I'd like ot see it as link sailing, not someone else sailing for him like with linebeck. And sea monsters or some mutated humanoid water thing...Zombie zoras! ooh, that has a nice ring to it....zombie zoras zombie zoras!
But weather conditions at sea is sometihng I would like to see.

I loved every aspect of Wind Waker, so subsiquently I would like Nintedo, in the next zelda game, to bring back the sailing, also pirate raiding would be cool.

Same here.
Except I don't think that would happen, unless the next sailing Zelda game comes for the Wii where you have to point and shoot the enemy.

Except I don't think that would happen, unless the next sailing Zelda game comes for the Wii where you have to point and shoot the enemy.pointing and shooting sounds intresting^^ yeah another game for the Wii with sailing would be pretty cool it would give us a whole new experience to sailing there could even be bosses at see that's something I'd like to see temple bosses like if the temple shattered to pieces and you landed in your boat then the boss fkew right out of the temple with you
yeah it would be great to have sailing return, but like bluelink said it would be good to have to avoid storms and such. also, Link should be sailing instead of Linebeck, also like Bluelink said. and, unlike PH, there shouldn't just islands, there should be continents like Holodrum, Hyrule and Labrynna, and some classic isands like Molida island, Bannan island and Mercay island. and, the boat should be a classic medieval looking sailing boat, not a steamship,no cannon either, a catapult maybe, or a classic cannon not one that just sticks out of the deck and goes back in whaen your not using it. and no alternate gameplay on the boat either, like in PH. you should jut play as Link ON the boat, not as the boat lie in PH. smaller too. and no customizing ship parts, just an upgrade that can be bought which will be the golden ship.

The sailing actually helped alot during the game than just the boring walk to places. I do agree with Hero_of_time "there should be Hyrule and Labrynna, and some classic isands like Molida island, Bannan island and Mercay island". Also the zoea zombies does have a nice ring to it!

(Yes I posted here before but I'm just saying something new.)
Also if sailing does return I hope it can get as intense as this. (Minus the crash)

If it does I would prefer something along the lines of the raft with LoZ and AoL.

It was the best idea yet, and it would work, also in OoA it was a success!! A raft gives the game a more "wild" approach.
(But I also enjoyed the sailing in WW)

I was just thinking about this yesterday, Zelda and sailing... and then I just realized one thing. Even though I don't like the Wii's motion controls, sailing would be a heck of a lot fun with the Wiimote.
Think about it. If anyone have sailed here, I think you get my general idea already. Trimming the sails with the nunchuck, maybe use the C to knot the sheet, use the Wiimote as the tiller... even though your couch isn't the most authentic boat, it would for sure capture the basics of sailing. It would aquire some knowledge in sailing to travel and it would therefore be somewhat harder than normal, but difficulty is something the series have lacked for the last decade really. It would also make traveling a lot more interessting rather than just change the wind, set up the sail and go take some lunch. But if the motion controlls were made right, and the Great Sea became more of an archipelago rather than a systematic set of island, I think sailing would be a positive factor actually.
I loved finding hidden islands in WW and a litttle bit in Phantom hourglass. Sail is just kind of fun to explore

I agree with Chu. Sailing was the most fun aspect of the game for me. Sailing around, while that music played, looking for islands... That was quite enjoyable. I'd love to see that again in a future game, as long as it's not PH style.

But the thing missing there is the actual fun with the actual sailing. Ehm, that sounds strange... but what you like is the exploration. It's pretty much exactly in the first two zeldas, but on a boat instead. Just that outside the boat, you can do loads of other stuff, while in WW, you do absolutley nothing. Just need to change the wind sometimes... which leads me to the idea, that I posted like three posts earlier, to make the sailing alot more like actual sailing, which would not only make the fun of pure exploration, but also with some sailing. Double the fun, yay for everyone!

I'd like to see sailing become a bit more difficult, and not quite as boring. Maybe if the distance was shortened. Like if the land drained a lot, so then the islands would be a lot larger.
Perhaps a boarding method would be neat. Like if you had Tetra and her men with you while on the ship, and you'd all get off when boarding an enemy ship and fight. Or your own ship might get boarded, also. It sounds pretty neat to me.
