Do you like remakes of N64 or GC games that are put on the wii? I know I don't. Its just not the smae playing a Nintendo 64 or gamecube game on the wii than it was on the originals. It just spoils it.

What exactly do you mean by remakes? Like games that were made for the N64 or GC and then remade on the Wii with new Wii controls and all that? Has that even happened yet?
I don't think I've even heard of a N64 or GC game that was remade for the Wii except for Twilight Princess.

I think he means Virtual Console.
You can buy games like OoT to play on your Wii with a classic controler.

No, he's talking about the wii controls also...
There's a series that's gonna be released under the label "Play them on the Wii" which are a bunch of 10 GCN games with Wii controllers...
The list contains Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Pikmin 1 and 2, Chibi Robo, and I don't remember the other Five but i was disappointed that there was no Wind Waker there:(

I remember reading that in Nintendo Power, but BL was talking about N64 games on the Wii, which makes me think he's talking about Virtual console.

If Chibi Robo is in that list, I may have to buy a copy. I always intended to by it for the GCN but put it off and now it is impossible to find.

I know, but he also mentioned GCN ones... About the N64, i don't think they'd spend money releasing, for example, OoT with Wii controls... it wouldn't fit much, and a wii disc should be able to port like 10 n64 games or so

I love it! especially when in Nintendo Power they said that Capcom was going to do the Remakes of Resident evil Zero and the original resident evil!
I don't care to be really, New Play Control is just for the millions of new Wii owners who are not aware of the GameCube and the Wii's backward compatibility.

I'm not much a fan for it. I mean, as much as I love the games being introduced to a newer generation of players (I shouldn't be the one to talk, but then again, I have a ColecoVision and a Nintendo 64), but they would never fully understand how the controllers would make the games feel comfortable. I tried playing OoT on the Wii's Virtual Console (Brawl Demo), and it didn't feel like the OoT I grew up with (The one I bought roughly 2 years ago) with the innovation in the shape of the controls and the design of the controller.
I enjoyed Wind Waker for its dedication to something similar without having to have the C buttons on a joystick. However, the NES games are similar with the Wii Remote, since they are both necessaryly the same thing: A long controller with an A and B (Or 1 and 2) button set, D Pad, and a Start and Select button set. The SNES controller meshes almost perfectly with the Gamecube controller, and yet I have to bash the N64 being emulated with the Gamecube Controller.
I have yet to play with the Virtual Console Controller, may I remind you, even though its shape and design look fairly similar to the Gamecube's controller. I'm not dissing the Virtual Console or Wii remakes, but I'm saying that the games that were designed for their console were truly made for their console and nothing else.

If you mean the New Play Control games, then I am for them. They give me a chance to play games I may not have played before, or if I have, there's a new spin to them. I will definitely be picking up both Metroids, and will probably give Pikmin a try. If they did any Zelda games, then I would be all in for those as well.
Plus, I have never been of a mind that anything like this is bad. They will get new players into games who may not even know what they are, and if sales are good, they increase the chance of all new sequels being made. It's esentially a cheap marketing questionaire in some way.
Also, Nintendo isn't forcing me to buy these, so if I really didn't want to play them, why should I be upset that they are making them? I just can look the other way and buy what I want.

I'm all up for a remake. Resident Evil was remade for the GC, and was the only reason I wanted a GC to begin with. As far as ports go, well I really don't get into those too much. An example: They released the remade Resident Evil for GC on the Wii in Japan. There was nothing special added, just a basic port. Now they are doing it in America. I can say honestly that I won't pick this game up. Its a waste of money, plastic to make a game box, and CDs. I like my Virtual Console, although they release more crap than gold for it.

I don't care a whole lot, but I think I'd rather they not do this.
Most games I just don't think would translate over too well. I mean, it would work okay, but I think they could produce games that work better with the Wii controls if they just made new ones. Especially with Wii Motion Plus.
That's not to say that remakes would be bad, but I'd prefer newer games in general, with perhaps a few exceptions.

Wii remakes are good because if you haven't played Ocarina of Time before you can just download it for 1000 wii points if you really wanted it rather than buying a gamecube version or the N64 cartridge. I also like how they remade Okami for the Wii because it was originally on the PS2 and I could not have gotten it otherwise.

Remakes aren't so bad. Some games are very deserving of them, such as Metroid Prime 1 & 2 and Resident Evil 0 & 1.
As for the virtual console? I love it. Why? Because now my older systems can be put on display like I want them to be, and I can play the games on one system. Fantastic! On top of that, it provides a chance for the younger generation of gamers to experience the magic of of older games. Now older gamers such as myself can discuss gaming with the younger kids and actually be able to have a knowledgeable discussion.
