Saw an ad on another forum a long, long, long time ago and then joined.
:)
You guys?
A long long time ago (about 11 months), I was looking for a Adventure of Link video walkthrough and I saw Mases's channel. And I went there, and I joined the forums as Jessence14 on February 15th I think. I left and then on May 25th I think, I'd have to check my profile, I joined again and came back every so often to make mass amount of posts. And then I became arbiter and basically stay here all day. =D

After poking around the affiliate lists of a few Zelda websites, I noticed that Zelda Dungeon was an affiliate of almost all of them. So I decided to check it out, and I joined the forums some time in August of '08. I wasn't overly active at first, until I started talking to some people, and then, like Josh, started staying here all day. Then I was found by a group of cavemen who took me into their tribe and made me their chief.

I can't remember the Zelda site where ZD was shown as an affiliate (it was French, I think), but I checked out all of the affiliates and found you. I knew about this site for months, but have only now registered in the forums.

I don't remember how I ended up here 3 years ago. I guess I found this site on google while I was looking for Zelda wallpapers. I registered for no reason and I visit the forum almost everyday. I first was a hylian fan, later hylian hero, a lot later arbiter and now moderator

Yes, there was a thread like this, but it got trashed for some reason. Anyways, I think I was looking for guides on LoZ, because I had to find the second dungeon or something. So, I googled it, and BLAM, up comes ZD. A while after that, I checked out the forums, saw some long and involved time-line debate, and had something to say there, so I registered.

I was looking for Zelda forums using google because I love tLoZ and wanted to promote my website which was going to have LoZ comics on it. ZD was one of the first sites to pop up. I checked it out and decided to join. Even though my site didn't work out, I've stayed at ZD because out of all the LoZ websites I've been to it is the best IMO. That, and because of all the awesome friends I've made here.

I stumbled across it really late last year. I had gone to a large video game art website called Creative Uncut. I went to the link section and had been clicking around. Then I followed affiliates from site to site for a while until I found Zelda Dungeon.
I was impressed by the site, though I didn't do anything on here until a month or two later. I emailed Mases asking permission to use some images on the site for avatars I was putting on my own. Then I registered a little while later. Mases recognized my name, but couldn't quite place who I was until I told him. XD

Hmm, I can barely remember..., much. But here is how it goes:
In 2007 I was playing MM with my cruddy controller, and I was stuck somewhere, so I searched for a walkthrough to help me. And I stumbled across this place, made it my homepage (it still is), looked at the forums, didn't register....
2 years later:
Bought PH, was stuck on last boss fight trying to make Phantom Spheres, went to ZD, went to the forums, eventually registered, posted a few..posts.
Left for a couple of days coza school, came back, and ta-da.
The end!

Gather 'round children and I will tell you the tale of how I found this place. It was a long time ago, in the same galaxy we're in now. But it was so long ago that The Dark World didn't exist.
(this is the part where you say "oooooooooh!")
It was in a time when many humans had not been born yet. In fact, it was so long ago that Elder Yumil was still a youngling!
The year was 2002, and Yumil went by the name Sheik back then. I started a small Zelda site of my own, and back then the first thing you did in order to grow your site was beg for affiliates. So I went around to the various websites requesting that we exchange links. The race to become affiliates with what was the greatest Zelda website the Internet had ever seen (we had quality hosting on Geocities) began.
Fortunately, our dear Mases completed the race, but he was a bit slow. I believe it was third place. We began chatting, became friends, and Mases hasn't managed to get rid of me ever since.
And that, children, is the marvelous tale of how Yumil met Mases and found the great place known as Zelda Dungeon!
Hi Mases.

My wife ^ showed me it the day she signed up, I was sitting right next to her XD.
I was on Zeldapedia. This was a affiliate site. But I was right about to leave until I saw people post new news. My dream is to become wether a NBA player or a Sports or Gaming Columnist, I saw there were people on this were posting new news, I thought I was signing up to do the same thing, but I guess not.

One day I decided to make some Zelda video walkthroughs to put on youtube. I then said after I made the videos it would be great to have my own site so I can put them onto the site so viewers could access it from another source. So i was just looking over some Twilight Princess videos looking for advice and how other users set up their walkthroughs. I then came upon "TheZeldaDungeon" and I seen the site link on the user account. I decided to check it out and ever since then I fell in love with the site.

Basicly I found ZD via LegendofZelda.com, when I first joined I kept seeing them comment on "ZD this ZD that" and I thought for awhile there that they might of been talking about Zelda Demension, which was one of the first forums I ever frequented. Then they went on about how there was plans to merge the forums, this Mases guy, and other stuff that.. really didn't sound like it fit in very well with the other ZD's history.
Then, I realized that ZD meant Zelda Dungeon. Yes guys, as you prolly guessed I am indeed slow.
So I checked the site out, and then I went off on my way, as usual.
But then Tim told me that he had joined the forums, which I had neglected to even check out (which is actually pretty strange.. I like lurking forums. >: ) and pasted the first rule into our Skype chat window.
1) All Members Are Treated Equal. This includes webmasters, administrators, all forum staff members, old respected members, and new registered users. Anything that has happened on the previous Zelda Dungeon based forum or any other online community is not an issue of the Dark World. So if you are a newly registered user, you should expect to have a clean slate. Also, the below rules are expected to be followed by all members including the forum staff and webmasters. While there is equality for all members, the Dark World staff should be respected. The staff voluntarily takes time out of their daily lives to make this place the best it can be and they deserve to be treated with the utmost respect.
I mean.. Love at first sight. <3 Right then and there I knew I was going to join. I understand forum hierarchies are always present in some form or another, but a forum that at least makes a valiant effort to treat all with respect automatically earns mine.
Plus he said you guys had a pretty good shoutbox, which I'm a total sucker for. I don't take advantage of it as much as I've wanted to but it's been fun the few times I've mixed it up on non-podcast days.
Speaking of podcasts, that's part of the reason I started to become semi-active on here. They are amazingly fun and a great time killer on usually boring Saturday nights. ( ::Hides the time stamp:: This post is totally not an indication that I have nothing better to do on a saturday night than to spend it on ZD.. >:'' )
Plus, you guys are pretty easy to get along with. I don't know anyone super well here, but I've chatted and read your guys post enough to know it's not very hard to start up a casual conversation with anyone around here. :)

I had been looking for Zelda sites for awhile to join up to, but I hadn't found one I really enjoyed being at. One day I was looking through Google Video and found the second ZD podcast, and gave it a watch. I thought it was great, so I searched out ZD and found that this community was an excellent one to be in, so I came to join the site! This was back at the end of February this year, so I've only been a member here for 2 months, but it seems like I've always been here with the amount of hospitality everyone's given me. :)

I also was looking for a Zelda site to join. I was tired of only talking about Zelda with my brother. I wanted to be near other fans. One day I was looking for Zelda Soundtracks, and then ZD appeared. The first time I looked at this site, I was surprised. It's probably the best Zelda site I've ever gone to. Then I checked the forums. And I liked it a lot. I was deciding between ZD and Zelda informer... ZD won. Sience then I'm enjoying my time here.

Hmm, let's see now... Ah yes, I found ZD through a link on ZU. ZU was the first Zelda fansite that I had come in contact with and I didn't really know about any other Zelda sites out there. One day I began randomly clicking on the affilates' links on ZU and one of them I clicked on was ZD.
I liked how the layout of the website was and I especially loved the site's walkthroughs. (In fact, I used ZD's PH walkthrough to help me figure out some stuff when I was stuck. :) ) Anyway, I stuck around checking the site every now and then to see if they had put up any new walkthough chapters.
One day I clicked on the forum button up top and found this place. I liked the look of ZD's forum, but I didn't join it at that moment. It wasn't until a little while later that I finally did join.
And I'm glad that I did! :)

I honestly can't remember. It could have been a number of things. I think it was for help on a certain game though. I do so many different things with games and search so many different sites that it could have been anything. I might have been searching for sprites even, but most likely it was to look up help on a game. I remember the older layout (the one before this I think), which had like sprites of MC Link going through a dungeon at the top of the page.
One thing I do know is that is wasn't to join any forums. At that time, I was only a member of one forum, and that was Mortal Kombat Online. But whenever I went to check out these forums, I liked it. I seen how well everything was put together, and after reading some of the discussions I just joined. Now, I stay here pretty much all the time. I never go to MK Online anymore, basically because no one is online on that site since there isn't any huge news in the MK world, other than Midway being bought out.
Eventually, I hung around for a while, worked my way up to Hylian Knight (Hylian Hero then), and after that it was kinda just the normal thing to come here. Becoming a Mod caught me by complete surprise, especially because in the two or three weeks before my promotion, my activity was really low. But ever since I've been a Mod, its definitely been almost an everyday thing for me to be here. That's why I like to call myself the "Ultra Mod", lol. I've really developed quite a relationship with this site, mainly its forums, but also the whole site in general. I see it as sort of my homepage, if that makes any sense. Being a mod, I feel like I don't just come here to post anymore, but I have to take care of the forum. Feed it, rock it to sleep, change its diaper, that sorta thing.

Ok, I shall now tell the three week story of me joining ZD.
One day I was bored out of my mind, so I started playing Oot. I got stuck because I'm really bad at Zelda in general so I looked up a walkthrough. All the walkthroughs seemed horrible in my opinion (That bacsilly means no pictures.) then I stumbled across here. After 3 days I didn't join, but something just drew me in and I've been here ever since.

I actually knew ZD existed about a year and a half prior to me joining the site. I was practically a webmaster at another Zelda site (Zelda Legacy), though neither I, nor the owner of the site had bothered to announce it. After a while of being there, the forums turned into kind of a place where a select group of people would hang out and bash any newcomers into the forums. It began to annoy me and decided to register here for some reason.
Now, whatever possessed me to register here I truly do not know. Mases and myself didn't exactly get along back then (we argued about stupid stuff... still do actually :)), but I came here anyway. I was banned from the shoutbox for some reason, though I think I know why, and dispatched a PM to Mases to find out why. I didn't come back to the site for a couple weeks, not until I resigned from my position at the other site. I came here and Mases and I began talking and it was eventually agreed that I would work here...
That turned into a longer story than intended, but it was fun :)

*Looks up to Bomby and his current sig* Did you get permission to use that artwork in your sig? I'm pretty certain I've seen the painting that's from over on Deviant Art. I hate to be a pain, but as an artist I can attest that fan artists tend to want other fans to ask them before using their artwork. If you got the picture off of 4chan or something, it was likely stolen. I cannot place the name of the artist, but I know I've seen that piece before - as fanart, not official. It's an ettiquite thing - some artists don't mind usage, but others do...
If anyone wants to use any of *my* stuff, please ask me first. I'm nice, I don't bite, and I'll probably say "yeah," but I like to know if/when/by whom my stuff's being used.
Anyway, back to the topic. I could have sworn there was a topic like this somewhere and that I'd responded to it...
I'm here because of my own artwork. You see, my first Zelda forum and frequented fan site was North Castle (Still a very proud member), which was recommended to me by a friend, Redmagelilith. I met Lil in Trigun fandom, but they were also a Zelda fan, so when I got really "into" Zelda after playing TP, she recommended North Castle to me because it was a cute little site full of nice people. I'd been writing fan fiction and doing fan art, but only putting my works on the fanfiction network and Deviant Art, for fear of having some of the same problems (dealing with highly argumentative and stupid people) as I did in my other fandom. Zelda is a big fandom so I had a lot of fear that people would scream at me "You can't do this/imagine this or do that/imagine that!" and get me into endless "shipper wars" and crud... I checked out NC only on this trusted friend's recommendation and I really liked it, it lived up to her words.
Now, that meant that I was also submitting my creative work to North Castle's archives. Mases picked up on some of my artwork for the Zelda Dungeon monthly fanart feature and Lady Juliet of NC emailed me to let me know. (I think she emails all the people whose work get featured in a given month). This didn't just happen once - it happened multiple times, so I decided to come check out the ZD forums to give Mases a quick "Thank you" because I was so entirely flattered by having my pieces featured so frequently.
I was really reluctant to set foot here at first because this board/site is so huge. Lots of people... and in my expereinces with lots of people on the Internet (or anywhere), lots of people usually equals lots of arguing and stupidity (the things I got fed up with in my last fandom when it was big that I wanted to avoid in my new one). So, the size of this forum is something I found daunting... was scared to death that people would gang up on me and tear me to pieces the first time I said something politically incorrect or "Zelda unpopular" in some way. (And I STILL stay away from the Timeline forum, for the most part).
Anyway, I was scared, but I swallowed my fear and registered because I really thought that Mases deserved a little "Thank you" for the frequent fanart features (and someone from here visiting NC's board said it wasn't so bad).
Browsing the board, I found that that there are all kinds of people here, yet, for the most part, people seem to get along (or at least slam each other in a fashion resembling intelligence) I haven't seen a lot of the "scary" stuff I've seen around the Internet before. And somehow, my posts were popular - who knew?
So, I really am glad I came here, at least so far. The place is nice and active and isn't as much a cause for fear as I thought it was going to be. I was scared at first, I'm glad I swallowed that fear.
I'm also *really* glad that people like my art, because really, out of life, that's all I ask. *Grin.*

I needed help with a Zelda game so I searched "Zelda walkthroughs" and clicked on this site. And I'm very glad I did. This site is much better than almost all of the others I found.

How I found out about this site was pretty unique. I had been going to Zeldawiki and Zelda Universe forums and had just started listening to the Zeldadungeon podcast thing and at the time I had no idea what Zeldadungeon was. So hearing Mases and everything about this place made me want to check it out. At first I didn't stay for long but soon I felt like I needed to start going to more Zelda forums than just one and the amount of forums here for Zelda were amazing.
So hopefully I'll be here for a while.

I think it was back when I affiliated with Zelda Dungeon many many many many many many years ago. Around that time Mases asked me to make a layout for him.

I kind of found this website while trying to complete minish cap and getting all the heart pieces. Then I read some forum topics and thought this was a nice place joined. I really like the fact that most people on the forums care about each other like a family. In fact, I really like this place more than facebook ^^
"Google" pulled me here, when i was searching for help for phantom hourglass tips. i saw that the site was (AND STILL IS!) cool, so i joined.

Well, when I was a freshman like.. in 04 I think.. a site that was linked to this site and shared staff called Zelda Legacies went down. A few of us came here, Cartoons was a mod or something higher on ZL so it was cool to still have someone you know to talk to. Then I dissappeared for a while, and came back when I was bored.

Through an affiliate thingy in one of the forums I visit. I said to myself: "Huh, a Zelda place, I might as well go and take a look." And I did, and loved what I saw, I also noticed that the place was not dead, like many other sites I've seen.

I was searching for a active Zelda fan forum, googled for Zelda community and find out about Zelda Dungeon. Well i looked always on the side for tips and all but didn't go to the forums. Now i'm here.
Agree with Tetra; many forums where inactive, this one was a better one and more active. I remember i was on forums 3 years ago, much more active and all. Are forums out of time or something?

I've been visiting ZD since it was on the vze address. I ran a Zelda website back in the day and worked for another, which is how I heard of them. I wanted to find another forum to frequent, because the one I have been on for so long became made of drama, elitism and is dying (has been for a year or two) and ZD was highly recommend by my brother Axle, and I saw it over his shoulder :)
I came across this site looking for the hidden gems in phantom hourglass, I remembered using the site earlier to look for heart pieces in another Zelda game, This time I noticed the forums, had a look around for a day or two and decided to register.
I'm glad I joined since I have people to talk to who share the same enthusiasm with Zelda that I do :)

Lets see... I was searching the Web for Zelda (cause this is when i got my first game), and came across ZD. I just knew of the site, and had no idea what an actual forum was at the time. So I just used the information on the site (It was the layout that looked like a dungeon), and randomly clicked on the forum link early in 2009. I learned what it was, and came across the 'whats your favorite TP dungeon' thread. I wanted to answer it, but realized I had to register. So I did, and now here I am! :)

I specifically used Google to look up a forum regarding Zelda to see if such a thing existed... most of them were dead or uninteresting, but this one piqued my interest. So I joined up to see if it was any good. It's not the most active site I've ever joined, but it's still pretty good. Only thing that bothers me is that the moderators close a lot of interesting/promising threads.
It might interest you guys to know that your site is 4th on the list of a Google search for "Zelda forum." :)

About 2 years ago (way back before Caleb had chapter 3 of OoT SITE walkthrough) I was at nintendo.com. I loved Zelda, and I went to this Zelda site that was really lame from a link on Nintendo.com. Then I was like, this site is lame, I want to find a cooler site that's awesome. I typed in www.zelda.com and I came to a google thing. I clicked on the first thing. It was Zelda Temple.com or .net can't remember. I was like WOAH! COOL! And I said, are there more sites like this. I looked at the affiliates and was like what's an affiliate? And then, I looked at them all. I looked around them a lot. And one of them just looked cool to me. I poked around more and more. And eventually watched Mases whole LoZ vid. walk. Then, I started following the site and have ever since. I kept peeking at the forums, and finally joined!

I was looking for a walkthrough for Minish Cap and found ZD, but i just read the walkthrough and left, but a week later i needed a walkthrough for TP and ended up here again and i started poking around the site, i found myself in the forums and joined.
Originally on Youtube. I was bored one day and I like watching walkthroughs for the simple fact that I can watch the story line without having to get out the game and play it. Lazy I know but, at least for Twilight Princess, it saves me an aching arm.
It came up so I subscribed to it, I un-subscribed for a little while and then re-subscribed. Somewhere in between that I 'liked' the facebook group and, well, recently I made my way to here out of the sheer lack of a life. Forums are a good way to eat up some time after all.
I found ZD through Ark. He had been a member for over a year or two and he had told me about ZD a few times. Eventually i joined!

Well, basically me and my sister were looking for a Majora's Mask walkthrough. We looked up Zelda Walkthroughs on Google, and Zelda Dungeon came up.
That is one of the reasons why I names my username Majora'sMask98, because thanks to Majora's Mask I found the site, and it's my favourite game.

My brother used to be a mod here. When he went into basic training, it was also around the same time that my home site LoZ.com went down. So I made an account here and saw some familiar old faces and as well as made some new friends too.

HI,
I was looking up ST cheats with my best buddy. After finding great walkthroughs on LightDarkNeutral's channel on YouTube we came across the Dungeon. It's just great and a must visit for newbies like me!

There already is a similar thread (http://zeldadungeon.net/forum/showthread.php?2537-How-did-you-find-ZD) like this one.
Anyways, I can't really remember how I found ZD. I think I was looking for zelda images to use as msn avatar and I ended up in the ZD image gallery. I decided to join the forums just to see if an English forum was fun. A lot of years later I'm still here :P

Honestly I have known about this place for a while now. I have used things like the walkthroughs and item guides, and I have looked up the quotes sections a few times as well. But I only like to dedicate my time to just a very few forums at a time. So while I played around on places like Zelda Universe and Zeldalegends I never registered here.
Now that I think about it, I really don't remember just how I found this place the first time. I think it was one of the links affiliated with either Ganon's Tower or Forbidden Woods.

Interesting question.
I was a regular visiter to the ZD walkthroughs and guides long before i joined the forums. I don't remember what I was actually looking for when i originally landed here, but it was probably a full walkthrough of the bottom of the well in OoT. I hated that place and always wanted help. Now, i've got it pretty well mapped out in my head.
But now i'm a member of the community and so, so, happy that I signed up! ^^

About a year ago I saw Zelda universe and I forgot its name, so I wanted to find it and show it to my friend. So we just typed Zelda and start looking for ZU. After a while we passed through this site with this beutiful picture of Zelda an Link (who's holding a flower if I remember right) sitting on the grass, that site was ZD (which is way more awesome than ZU).

I was playing Phantom Hourglass and wanted to find a list of the ship parts, google, and Zelda Dungeon had the best looking and organized list I had seen, and I spent time looking around the whole site, and loved the layout. Noticed that the main homepage had somewhat of a blog or forum feel to it, so I thought it might have a forum I could register to. Next time I got on the site I saw the forum button at the top and clicked it, registered, and here I am! :D
The people here are wonderful, everyone is so kind and they make you feel like part of the group, which keeps bringing me back here to the forums to check on what's going on. I love it! :3

Was stuck on the Forest Temple on Ocarina of Time, and decided to suck it up and look for a walkthrough. It was too hard to find the page for OoT on IGN, so I Googled it.
I found Zelda Dungeon. Weeks later, (after choosing ZD as my #1 place for walkthroughs) I saw that there was a forums page. Out of curiosity, I looked at it and thought, "That looks cool!" and joined. I didn't really feel pulled in until a few months later, when I got into getting on every night until about 4 AM (it was the summer). Nowdays, I don't get to do a lot on here anymore, due to the fact that almost nobody is on during the day (or at least the times that I'm on), so, um... yeah.
Now, almost a year later, here I am.

However, I didn't join the forums directly, but after a time I did, and now I'm stuck here!! :D

About 7 years ago, I believed that OoT was the first Zelda game. When I got Wind Waker I looked through the strategy guide, and found out about the 4 games before Ocarina of Time. About 2 years later, I started to research zelda, and found a couple of websites. After going to Zelda Universe, Ganon's Tower, Exploding Deku Nut, and Zelda Informer, I came across Zelda Dungeon. For some reason I have been drawn back to ZD ever since. I've tried out a few other websites for the latest on Zelda, but I don't know, I just liked Zelda Dungeon the best. So ever since that day, I've been coming to Zelda Dungeon 2 or 3 times a day, looking at the latest news, and guides on Zelda. Although, as far as forums go, I've only really been going to the ones at Zelda Eternity, but now I'm gonna be checking these ones out too.

Well, I first used to use the Zelda Universe for Skyward Sword updates, but I saw the Zelda Dungeon, and clicked on it, and then I saw a Mailbag, so I watched the video of Axle, and found it to be very interesting. I then began to visit this site numerous times and was astounded by how well it's delivering it's service to Nintendo and other randoms things, especially the Mailbags with Axle, those made me laugh sometimes! Soon later, there was a livestream of the ZD's 10th (I think) Birthday and Mases was playing the CDI Zelda game, and Axle was there. It was so fun watching it. That very day, I decided to join the community, and boy, am I glad I did! I guess you can say I joined because of Axle and that hilarious livestream.

It started about six months ago when a mate and I decided to get to work on the Zelda timeline. He obviously went searching and recommended me to this site as it has a vastly interesting forum of theory. I could have very easily looked at some of the threads and gone elsewhere but something about the community struck me as, to use the best term, comfortable. Ever since then I've come to ZD to engage in interesting and enjoyable conversation with all of you about my hobbies and without fear of unkindness. You guys are awesome.

I started out on Kasuto.net, a VERY LONG time ago xD
Then after that, I looked around for some walkthrough sites when replaying, to help my boyfriend get through OoT (and soon to be MM/WW/TP) and then BOOM! ZD walkthroughs and Forum.
I used to play an old MU server called FortressMU, and I really missed the whole community feel there.
I hope I can be a part of this one! :D

The first time I ever got to Zelda Dungeon was probably like 5 years ago. I was looking up Zelda fan games on the internet, and found some hosted by Zelda Dungeon. The only one of those games I remember until today is Tingle Tactics. :)
Anyway, then I didn't visit the site again for a couple years, when I decided to use Google to try to find "the site that I found Tingle Tactics on".
Anyway, that's the story of my genesis here. I could continue about what happened afterward, but that wouldn't just be how I found ZD, would it?
