I am studying to become a doctor in HS, and I hope I achieve my goal.

By doctor, I meant a surgeon, opthamologist (eye doctor), cardiologist, or just a general doctor, who trains for a bit of everything.

Yeah, I most likely will go with cardiologist/surgeon.

What about you guys?

I really have no clue. I have been thinking about that lately. I think in a few years I will find something that interests me. But for now, I don't know anything.

I've found an intrest in politics over the past few years, and I'm taking an advanced speech and debate class in school right now.

Another interest is music. I play the drums pretty well, and I just started learning how to play the piano.

Smitie you don't even have to post, we already know what you want to be.

Probably something with computers. Not completely sure what though.

I've given a lot of thought to the priesthood. Ever since I was eight years old I've been greatly attracted to the priesthood, and I plan on becoming a seminarian to see if that's my calling. If not, I'm not sure what job I'll get. Maybe a job that involves computers or something. Or maybe I could get into professional Extreme Underwater Basket Weaving. That might be cool. =P

I actually have been interested in Digital Media, Information Systems Technology, and Interpretor. I am not yet fluent in another language, but if I were to be bilingual - I think it would be quite enjoyable since there are so many options to it. So far though, graduating with a major in a language, or IT are my top priorities.

I'd quite love being able to major in a language (i.e. French) and being an Interpretor for a gaming company, since they will pay you to translate their games. Pretty neat, ey?

When I grow up, I wanna be famous, I wanna be a star, I wanna be in movies. When I grow up, I wanna see the world, drive nice cars, I wanna have groupies.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

But seriously, I might see about becoming a teacher. Or something else to do with Geography or German (Sorry Smitie).

Wow, I see... I can't believe someone actually put that down. O.o
Anyhow, I stated prior that I was thinking of a degree in Information Systems Technology (and while I do not have any idea what career path I'd want for sure from getting this degree, since I am not fully aware of all my options) and so far, that is my main goal. I'd eventually want to become...

NO way! I was gonna say that! lol jk

Hm, well there are a lot of things I want to do with my life. I don't know if I will be able to do any of them though. I guess you could say I have a huge lack of self confidence.

Okay, #1: I've want more than anything to be a settle down with someone and become a mom. I know that sounds lame to a lot of people, but there it is. Oh, and yes it is a real job.

In the mean time though to pay the bills here is the list of things that I hope to get into. At least one of them will hopefully work out...

I want to get into cosmetology and be hairstylist. I plan to get into a hair school after I finish my high school education next summer.

Next, an artist is something that I have always wanted to be. However, I have never had the chance to take any art lessons. I don't know if I will ever have the chance to take lessons, or if I will be good enough to: a. work in some kind of anime/manga comic company, or b. sell my own stuff.

Writing books and stuff would be cool as well. I don't think that will ever work out, though.

Lastly, if I thought that I could actually get through the schooling required, and if I thought I'd actually be any good at it (not likely) I'd also want to be a physiologist.

I know, I might as well be wanting to become the next American Idol.

My main career choice is a piano teacher. I can't let all those years of finger-breaking pieces go to waste, can I? I wouldn't mind composing a few things as well, especially for video games.

If not, game designer would be pretty darn cool. So would being an artist, except I'm not that great...but like Amelie said, practise makes perfect.

After highschool, I hope to go to college and play basketball there. Hopefully, though it's a one in a million, get to play pro ball. If my huge dreams do not come true...Then...I'll probably get involved with fashion. I'll still play for a women's team or coach kids basketball because it will always live in my heart. Basketball forever!

I would have loved to have been a Character Artist for video game design, but I realized to get somewhere really big in the gaming industry - you kind of have to have some mad skills (like Swiftblade, I could never compete with even his simple signatures!). While I mentioned prior I was interested in becoming a few things (it's hard deciding what you'll do for the rest of your life!), including a Network Administrator.. but I'm beginning to become interested in Pharmacy. I'd love to get a doctorate degree someday, so that will be my goal.

Hounestly Id love to play football as a linebacker, but the chances are probably slim, so Id probably end up either being a game deisigner/tester, or A 3rd centruy glass worker (my Grandpa worked in the glass industry, as do my mother and father so I may end up carrying on where they left off). I do work sometimes in my moms shop (its also an aluminum frame shop) so I have some experience there...also from helping my mom with shop drawings etc. I know my way arround the buisness.

Well, I'm 20 years old, and I still haven't figured it out. I like creating things like video games and music. I would prefer to do something with music, but its kinda hard to get going in the music business. As far as college goes, I've went through a few majors. I started out wanting to be a vet, then I switched to a doctor, then a pharmacist, now I'm doing business. Its not that I have done a lot of work, just a lot of career switching, :D. But I hope I end up finding something that I will enjoy.

I suppose I'm in the "older" range that this question is referring to, so I'll say that I am happy I got to where I am right now. I always wanted to draw for a living as a child, and now I am able to do just that.

But since this question it's not "when you are an adult" and just "older" then I will say I want to be retired when I grow older now. :P

I believe I might have changed my mind on this topic. What I really want to be able to do in the future is to run some kind of "Lodge" or something similar. And I would also want a "shop" in which I had canoes, hiking equipment, binoculars etc. to both sell and rent out for tourists. I would want to run my business in a tropical country such as Costa Rica or similar. That would be wonderful :)

Well, over the past couple of months, I've somewhat thought about this, because, well, I need to know. haha
While I do not have a plan A, per se, but I have a plan B, C, and maybe a D and an E. All of these will kick in after I graduate from University.
Either: I will go back to school, and just do more classes. Just try to find a job and figure out what I want to do. Education so I can teach. Or, Try and figure out what kind of Geography I have the most interest in, and try to do something with that.

While it'd be nice to actually know what I want to do, at least I have some ideas/back-up plans.

I want to go into the field of sports medicine. I've grown up playing sports most of my childhood, but I know that there is almost no chance of me to become a professional. I think it would be a great career for me, and I can't wait to see if I will ever make it into the career.

And years in the future, who knows, the research could make us all cold-proof or something.

I love music, and of course any music lover, especially in the rock area hates the industry... they think that it destroyed rock, and the musician sold out when he was signed. I've wanted to own my own label since I was probably 12.. I'm actually in school for business and history of music... I am the most horrid person in the eyes of rock lovers everywhere. But I don't want that same thing.. I want to sign the guys that I like.. Promote the hell out of them... And then when they make it I want to know that they made it with my help, just me promoting.. I don't want to stand in the studio and critique them as they are recording.. I want them as raw as they were when I found them on the streets. I don't care if I fail. I probably will... but I'm going to do this. I will start out promoting for an already known record label. Then move up to scout and learn how the whole business runs. After a few years get maybe a partner at first and open it up. Later hire a staff.. But I will never ruin their musical feel. I refuse.. I'll go broke first.

Well, i already have my fulltime job as Operator now. I want to be team leader like my previous job, it was closed after the recession hit it.
In the past i had a dream to be a Vet. I apply for the school, after a talk with them i didn't want it anymore. The reason is just simple, in our country are enough vets. there is only a change for 10% or something, very very low. I don't go to school for that 10%... I wanted my money right now and a full time job, I applied for food companies. I worked there for 4 months, the boss asked me to be a new Machine operator. I did it, still later he asked me again for Team Leader. Was a good job for money. :P When they are closed i stay as Operator now. Im hoping i will be team leader in the future back again.

I've wanted to study Computer Science ever since I was 15! :P Luckily, for me, that is what I'm doing, sort of. I'm studying Computer Science, but also Mathematics. I decided to get a double major, because: 1, there are more applications of math in CS then most people think. 2, I can use it for grad school. 3, I just like it. When I get done with my undergraduate work, I hope to study computer security, and get a job. Maybe get a graduate degree in math, while working. When I get some years of work done, I want to study up and get a Doctorate degree. Then work some more, retire as a college professor, and then see what goes on! lol.

I'd very much like to own a tea house. I'd have a stage for bands to perform, walls of books, and I'd boast the widest variety of tea I possibly could, medicinal and delicious alike. I'd perhaps also have an upper floor with either cats to be petted or a yoga studio. It's all a bit vague in my mind at this point, only modestly forming. I'd like people to be able to have a bit of a sanctuary to relax in -- I wouldn't want to be the sort of place to rush people in and out for revenue. I'd stay open into wee hours if a customer needed the time, too. I think it would be lovely.

Though I’m just in eighth grade, I am currently thinking about being a paleontologist—someone who finds and studies fossils, a graphics designer, or a cartoonist. These seem to work for me because if I decide on either a computer artist or cartoon artist, I can easily go to the Columbus School of Art and Design. Whereas with the fossil business; I have been finding fossils since second grade. I should upload some pictures of them, that’d be kind of neat, right? I know I’m starting to drift from the topic, but I mainly find trilobites and brachiopods, though my first fossil was something along the lines of a half-acorn.

It honestly doesn't matter what I WANT to be in the future as I've already actually joined the US Army very recently as a medic which I will stay as for at least four years, though I plan on staying as that longer. Only reason I joined was because of terrible financial issues with my family and I was left the option of serving for my country or living a stagnant life in poverty.

But.. let's see. I used to remember wanting to be a number of things a long time ago. I used to want to be a lawyer just because I was good at arguing, which isn't a very good reason, and even a comedian when I was in elementary school. The last thing I seriously thought about being, which, if I had the chance, I really think I would become, was a High School English teacher. I have many, many ideas for that subject, I love writing and would love to teach people that subject, especially considering all the methods I have in mind for improving the ways my students would learn English.

Within the last 4 years, I've jumped around to thinking I wanted to do pretty much anything and everything. However, as a high school graduate, I've decided to go for what I love instead of what I like. I am looking to major in Physics and work in the Astronomy field. My interests in Astronomy aren't very limited at all, though as a freshman in college I am eligible to participate in research at the Mehalso observatory on campus that deals mainly with observation, modeling planetary systems, astronomical imaging, data analysis, and other projects. I am considering a minor in Computer Science as well.

These days? I just want to be an office/clerical worker, do filing and stuff like that. It's safe, predictable, doesn't pay too badly, and is mostly based on stuff I already know how to do.

Other occupations I've considered have been:

1. Computer Programmer
2. Psychologist
3. Network Administrator
4. Researcher/Academic

My desires go in strange directions, but there you go.

I want to be a vet. It pays good money, there's always going to be animals to treat, and the thing about it I'd enjoy the most is helping animals.

I'm bored so I guess I can post in here...preferably, I want one of two jobs, Accountant or Aviation Engineer.

Both are fairly well paid but the former would probably be quiet dull, especially if I wanted a job in the bigger banks of the world. It's great pay though and also teaches you how to move you money around to minimize losses of money which I'm sure it some great knowledge to have.

The Second job I think would be more fun to do, being able to physically or mentally (not decided which) build an aircraft for war or any other uses would be quite the challenge but I still think it would be an excellent job to have.

Since I have a huge interest in Biology and science as awhole, I would like to be a Biologist, Virologist (I'm fascinated by viruses) or Neurosurgeon (I'm also fascinated by the workings of the mind).
Some may say my career choices are very odd and unrealistic, but they are my choices, and I will work to achieve them. No matter what the cost :D

But, if all of my scientific aspirations are not achieved, my fallback career would be an archeologist (or possibly, a History teacher).

Most of the above careers pay well, the teacher pay may vary, depending on the School. And one more thing, in the future, when there's an outbreak of a deadly disease...it wasnt my fault.

I'm updating this like Claire did!

I have switched my major to marketing from accounting, but I will still likely get an accounting job.

My passion, however, is now photography. I've been seriously pursuing it in the last year and I would dearly love to go professional with it. Time will tell!

Hmm hopefully no one has did this.. *Hopethe search didnt fail me if so tell me*

Well its always intersting to see what other people always wanted to be when they grew up from a teen age perspective. Me i am an animal lover and nature freak, I would rather ride a bike than drive a car, but since no jobs have little bike ramps to lock them down thats out of teh question, but me i have a few.

Biologist- Hmm my nature freak is coming out, sure i may (hope not) have to disect animals but thats part of it, this caught my attention about a year or two ago when i started to figure out things.

Enviromentalist- I just want to play my role to actually help teh environment than destroy it with more over population, you may see me protesting with PETA or something like that xD just watch for Robert Carmoney on the news.

Umm and other environment occupations.

those are my current goals to accomplish something, these are the ones i wanted to be when i was littler.

Geologist- I was obessed with the earths form and all with rocks ect..

Archeologist- Oh my this was a big one, xD i was hooked on Eygpt and all that when i was little (Blame the movies) but i got over it.

Umm ok so what did you want to be or havent yet or whatever,
and plz NO WHIMPY 1 SENTENCE, give an explanation at least like i did.

I would like be a pro soccer player, too bad I will never reach that level, eh? XD Being a pro would be awesome since I would get to visit places like stadiums, cities, other pro players, all while doing what I like doing most: Play Soccer. It would be awesome if one day I could wear Mexico's National Soccer Team uniform.

At the moment there is nothing I could be...there are lots of jobs out there, really.

Ever since I was a child, I wanted to be a soldier. So, when I was old enough, I joined the US Army. I joined while I was still in high school, so I luckily was able to do my training during the summer and then part of the school year. I guess it was good that I was homeschooled during that part of High School, or else I probably would've failed some courses. I became a 31B (Military Police). It was... a lot of fun, really. After being stationed in the US for a while, I did go overseas.

It was a job I really loved. I enjoyed having a lot of responsibility and always being active. It made me feel alive, I think you can say. It was the only place I could be where there were so many people with so many customs and beliefs and morals but everybody got along for the most part. It is... very different than civilian life. I also formed bonds with people. It's weird to try to explain, but I have never felt closer to anybody than a fellow soldier. It's such a strong bond. However, my time for the Army is now finished, and I am onto other things.

I also wanted to become an artist. Well, let me rephrase that: I always wanted to draw stuff. I never actually wanted to have it for a career. But, my granny, my aunt, everybody.... they all pushed me to do something with my art after the Army. So, I have seasonal work with gaming companies. Around Oct-Feb is my times there. It's very busy and takes a lot of my time, but it's good money. It just can get very irritating because it's not my own ideas. I have to work in a group, and we all share ideas and work on a piece.... but, a lot of the time our ideas are very different. I hate group work.

Still, I want to be in the gaming industry, so I think it will look good on my resume. I also am working at GameStop (3 years in OCT). I'm trying to become manager and get my own store, but now I am reconsidering.... I mean, I might not like it, you know? But if I get my own store, then I will be stuck with it for a while...

So, now I am working on linguistics. If I can better my languages, then I will get a job in translations. I would like to translate for gaming companies. It'd be fun and pretty easy. Plus, if I can't get hired by a gaming company, there are still many jobs in linguistics that pay very well, so I will have many options open.

The older I get, the harder it is to decide what I want to do when I grow up. Feels like whatever I do, I'm just biding my time till I come up with something better. I'm going to nursing school starting next month, and I've been considering being a nurse since high school (8 years ago). Before that, and still, I've always fancied the idea of being an author. I've also considered (and still do) teaching, editing, photography, music, historian, music/pop culture historian, you name it. 24 years old and I still consider ditching everything and going and becoming a ninja. I can never fully make up my mind.

A ton of things... an artist, (although, my parents are against it, since artist don't make a ton of money, unless you really are gifted) an English teacher, (due to my ability to correct any grammar mistakes and pretty good spelling skills, my parents are also against this idea) a writer, (part time, of course, but who doesn't like my writing? Well, whatever! Practice makes perfect!) a singer, (my parents are totally against this idea... my parents do NOT like the arts...) and actress, (I don't even know if my parents are aware of my acting skillz, so they don't have any opinion)

Heck, I might just abandon all of this and open up a spa or a coffee shop!

Well, my dream is to be a photographer. I love taking pictures of scenery. People tell me that I have a good eye for that kind of stuff. The thing is that most photographers are photographers of people and weddings which I'm not the best at. I don't think I would be very good at it. I've been thinking possibly a teacher for little kids but I have public speaking issues, even in front of little kids. I'm also interested in architecture and that's why I play the Sims all day long, haha. I love designing houses and buildings and I'm going into drafting class next year, woo! I hope to move out of my current city (some unimportant hick-town on Vancouver Island BC) and move to Victoria, BC. (A BEAUTIFUL city.)

Nah, not really, that would involve a lot of running, (which is bad on my ankle), and lot's of working out. (which is good for you).

But, since I'm more of a Artist than a Athlete, I want to make my own animation show with my best friend(s). It will be awesome.

I'm 14 now and working on my dreams of becoming a TCRG (certified Irish dance teacher) and video game designer. As a game designer I want to start my own company with me being president and creative director. I want to break down barriers and stereotypes of girls and gaming, and also how people perceive video games. I'm working on my dreams now by being highly involved in Irish dance and designing my own games.

I have a large interest in cultures and animals, archaeology and paleontolgy appeal to me. I am out to diprove Evultion once and for all! Otherwise I am really thinking about going into Graphics web design or just Graphic design. I have a few years to make up my mind as I will be travelling all over Europe with my dad. Maybe I will gain some insight into something else.

When I was a Pre-schooler, I wanted to be a truck driver. That's gone by the way side, as of late. I'm not quite sure what I want to be, I'm just going to go with the flow right now and see where life takes me.

My dream is game design, but that probably won't happen. I can't code worth crap, but I have some pretty good ideas and some game design document skeletons clogging my room. Said room is full of papers, mostly homework and sketches for games (UI, level designs, control maps, etc.). I am also interested in Graphic Design, but really the only thing that compares to my love of Game Design is creative writing. English is always the easiest subject for me in school, And I'm in a Pre-AP class (the equivalent of the honors class for the year above mine), So, yeah. I'll probably end up doing some graphic design job and work to end up designing things in the game industry, and then slowly move my way up from there, hopefully to a position primarily oriented on ideas, more so than the grunt work of actually making the game. And, of course, I'll write novels on the side of all of this. :)

I'd love to be some sort of medical doctor or maybe a psychologist but those jobs require many years of college and I'm not very hard working or the sharpest tool in the box.

I'll probably pursue some job in the artistic division since that is something I enjoy and might be decent at.

I want to be a filmmaker. I'm really into making amateur film right now, and will soon be attending Write State University to knock out some gen ed's, then transferring my credits to The Art Institute of Pittsburgh where I will be majoring in Digital Video/Cinematic Production. I've already been accepted to both schools, and am heading to WSU this fall!
