Does anyone else think that Majore's Mask was the last hard Zelda game that Nintendo made?
You know I actually think I would agree with you out of the few ones after it I've played. Wind Waker is long, very long, but it isn't the hardest, Twilight Princess is really easy, and Phantom Hourglass is really really easy. So that would be a yes on my part. =D

Considering that it took me two times around to beat it, and that I think Wind Waker is rather easy-although it did take me a while-I think Majora's Mask is indeed one of the more difficult Zelda games.
Twilight Princess was challenging, but I think one had to be a lot more intuitive to complete Majora's Mask. This considering the fact that time was such and issue, and that certain couples of events had to be done in succession. Which was usually on the second or so day. Here one had to think of how they would spend their time to complete all these events and not, literally, die trying.
Phantom Hourglass, I think, is way too easy in comparison with the other games.

Twilight Princess is a step in the right direction in making the games hard again.

It was extremely hard. I couldn't say if it was nintendo's hardest because I haven't played all of nintendo's games :p But Probably the hardest Zelda game I played. People would think it is easier than OoT because it has less temples but the Great Bay Temple and Stone Tower were just so ugh!! Also there was the 3 day thing. You gotta get all those masks and the bomber book. Nintendo you get a 10 for the toughness and greatness of majora's mask:)

It was one of the more challenging Zelda titles. I remember the first time I played it, I didn't know what to do at all. The time just kept running out and I kept dying, and I was so mad. But one I finally got the Collector's Edition disc years later and actually played through the first part, I found the game to be one of the best in the series as well. Its difficulty isn't necessarily a bad thing. I was too amused by the scenery and ora of the game to think about its difficulty most of the time.

I'd say it was the last hard 3-D zelda game, but the Oracle games were a lot more challenging Imo, and I'm pretty sure they were released after Majora's Mask. Indeed there were a lot of things that were hard about MM, like the Great Bay Temple, Stone Tower Temple, etc. But I think the Oracle games had more challenging puzzles, bosses, and everything about it was more challenging I thought.

I don't really know. Everyone will just have to wait to see if the next Zelda game is hard.
I thought MM was VERY hard because of only have three days to beat it.

I would say it was hard, even though I haven't finished it yet but it's hard because you have to do alot of stuff in only 3 days!:o:mad::p

Yes MM was pretty hard.
If nintendo would make 2 zelda titles, on one console, each generation, now that would be cool.
Because everytime nintendo comes up with something new with the zelda games, and they make it easy for people who is new to zelda. So if they made a sequal (like MM) with higher diffculty, i think the fans would be pleased.
This game is hardest to complete 100%.
The Wind Waker says hello (http://zeldawiki.org/Nintendo_Gallery).
I guess that things did start to get easier after MM, but by no means would I consider MM hard. I really only had trouble with a few parts back when I first played it (when I was like 11 or something), namely the Goron portion after you enter the moon (I don't know why that was hard). But a lot of other people talk about just how incredibly hard the game is; I don't know what they're talking about. Maybe they're having time-limit frustrations?

Actually, I do think it was the hardest Zelda game since it's time. The Wind Waker and all those other games after it weren't really that hard to me, and I think Majora's Mask was harder than them. So I think since after it's been made it's the hardest, but not the hardest out of every Zelda game.

I'm not sure; I've never played TP, MC or PH.
I do know that MM is the hardest game in the series that I've ever played, and that WW was pathetically easy for me.

Yes. Zelda to me... got easy after MM. MM was the last hard Zelda game. Even though I enjoyed TWW it was very easy and so is every Zelda after it. I didnt enjoy TP very much. I did like PH though even though it was pretty easy as far as enemys and bosses go. I dont think I would have liked it as much if it was a GBA game though.
Are we counting the Oracle games in "games after MM"? Because Ages has its moments, man.

You made a good point there!! But thats not all. Even the more recent games (except for maybe PH) are not very much easier, regarding puzzles, finding items and such. Only one thing has become easier (and I admit it is not an irrelevant thing), namely enemies and bosses!! I think that you should get killed on your way to or through a dungeon and a boss should take you a couple of tries before you beat him/her/it. That never happens in MM, TP or PH, and that is flaw (can you say/write so?).

Twilight Princess is a step in the right direction in making the games hard again.
TP is the easiest zelda game.
MM is the hardest game for me then OoT. there is only 4 temples but its extremly hard to beat it.

5 months u are good it took me 3 months without stop I played it evry day to beat it.
Out of all the games I've played fully (or almost fully), it's the 2nd hardest only to AoL, so yeah, the last hard game. It took me about 3 or 4 years to beat it, but I'd say most of it was periods where I wouldn't play it at all.

I never really had a hard time with Majora's Mask. It was the second Zelda game I put the time into to beat and probably the one I have played the most. Most people I know who think it is hard have typically been confused and not challenged. Especially by the time system and the saving system. They would end up being confused mostly with saving and the owl statues. I never really was confused by any of those things myself. If I had to say I would probably put it top 5 maybe, but that is also because I typically have a harder time with the older installments of Zelda. Either way, I enjoy every play through and it is certainly one of my favorites of the series.

I didn't think it was hard at all. I'll admit there were a few times where I needed to do things 2 times MAYBE 3 and if I didn't get it then I'd come here but I only remember coming here for the extra stuff like the masks and the sword. It is definitely one of the more challenging ones but not difficult. You know I don't think I've found any Zelda game so difficult that I just couldn't beat it. But I haven't played the older titles and I hear there hard. ..... :blank: WAIT now I remember... I never could finish Link's Awakening for the Gameboy... but in my defense I was only like 7 or 8 and my gaming skills were just beginning to take form. :embarrassed:
MM was definitely harder than the more recent Zelda games, but as Ando said, the Oracle games had their moments. In my personal opinion, AoL was the hardest Zelda game I ever played.
I personally find Majora's Mask complicated, and a bit messy. I do think it's a really hard game, but in my opinion many of the things you had to do weren't very clear, and you would waste lots of time meandering around without having a clue of what you should do next, and time is something you cannot afford to lose, at least not in Majora's Mask. Therefore you must not think that this means the game is 'super hard'.
If producers had spent more time working on this game, this would surely be my favorite title of all, however I do think they didn't apply the ideas correctly, and that they could've had the greatest game of all, and to me, they failed.

I found it quite hard actually the first few times I played it but not anymore.I played it the most than any other Zelda game out there.

I never had a hard time when I first played Majora's Mask. Understanding the time concept is simple once you manage to grasp it firm in your hand. Then you have to think of the best solutions to get the job done nice and quick. It's basically speed running, except that I had an easier time making speedrun strategies for this game than the others since I could replay the many levels over and over without a care. The only difficultly came when I was getting the Fierce Deity's Mask.
Yes, and it was the concept of the three day game and the inevitable side quests which made it the hardest.
Aswell as a generally challenging final Boss.
Seriously, without the Fierce Deity Mask, Majora's Wrath is so hard to beat.

Kind of funny considering how easy it is with the mask. hah

I didn't think MM was a hard game. It was harder than it's predecessors, but it wasn't really a hard game. Getting all the heart pieces by yourself, on the other hand, now that's hard in MM (i think there's around 50 heart pieces to find).
btw, the Oracle games are CERTAINLY harder than MM. I already finished both, some puzzles were pretty hard.

I do believe MM is the hardest 3-D Zelda, and it's the one that gave me moer trouble. The game is harder than OOT. The enemies are tougher overall, and it's more difficult to figure out what to do next. But the toughest part was clearly the temples. Woodfall Temple is the hardest first dungeon in the Zelda games ever. (Altough the one in AOL is quite difficult too). But yeah, the dungeons in MM were all very complex and they were long to do. I could easily spend more than 1 hour in each temple. Also, you had mini-bosses, which some of them were tough (Wart, for example), and finally, the bosses, even the first one, were very hard and offered some challenge. The final boss, Majora, was really hard the first time I fou ght him.
But now... I can go trough MM without dying once... but the game was pretty hard when I was younger.
You are correct in saying that it's the hardest Zelda to game to date, all other Zelda have been generally easy to complete.
But, has no one ever thought that it was because you got used to Zelda by MM that all the games after were just like going through another Zelda game. This would not apply to those who have played MM after most other Zelda games.

Though I've only beatn WoodFall Temple and SnowHead Temple, and also looked in ZD' walkthrough a lot (when I was bored before playing the game, I read the walkthrough because I was bored... NEVER DO THAT!), I don't really think it's that hard...
The game, without counting the stuff, it's easy, because the only hard thing would be the last two temples (the one I haven't played :( ).
Now, as for the stuff, it's simply crazy because the game lacks dungeons, though I wouldn't say winning the 100% it's challenging. many things are time-based, and without a walkthrough you can't know where and when to go, unless you explore the game deeply and have a lot of patience (because of the SLOOOOOWWWWW time).
So, yeah, winning stuff itself isn't hard, but finding it yes.
The game isn't that hard when talking about challenging... so to me it wouldn't deserve being called the hardest Zelda game to date.
I totally agree, but I think that Twilight Princess is an exception.
