Well, I haven't seen any thread like this yet, and I know some of you people play instruments. So, what do you play?

I've pretty recently started playing the Guitar a bit. It's really awesome now, because I'm starting to be able to play songs.

I play the saxaphone in band. I played the clarinet last year. I know how to play the drums and trumpet too. I own a guiter but I never got a book to teach me how to play it. I think that is it.

Well, I kinda almost play everything. The piano/keyboard,Recorder,Cello,Electric Bass, kinda play on the organ, suck at guitar, and my specialty, The Drums/ Drumkit , and snare.
...........And I OWN Guitar Hero!!!!.........

BTW, I taught my self to play all of these except for the cello. My teacher at school taught me. :)

^wow, looks like you're the independent 'I can teach myself' kind of person. I admire that. :)

Well, I know *doesn't hardly play much ever* how to play very little in guitar and piano *sucks at both real bad too*, and that's about it.

Please don't double post.

I forgot to say the recorder (but that probably doesn't count). I can also use vioce. I got kicked out of chioure once though. I can sing along with all my favorite CD's though. In chiuor we had to sing the worst songs. It was mostly broadwy and disney. Except for the winter concerts. We had to sing Winter and Christmas songs then.

I taught myself how to play piano when I was in 1st grade, and in elementary school I learned how to play the clarinet. I have an acoustic guitar, and I began to teach myself but put it off to focus more on schooling. If I teach myself again, I will probably look towards the harp.

I only play the piano and my little Irish Whistle which I mess around with now and then. I have a binder full of Zelda music that I've collected off of the internet, along with some other video game music. I also enjoy playing lots of classical pieces. I'm learning Sarabande at the moment.

The piano would be my primary instrument, I've been playing for, eleven years now, I picked up drums as a secondary in my last two years in music school, so I've been playing drums for five, I think, I sucks at math, I'm self taught with my acoustic guitar, and i, plan, on learning the violin and the flute, just because the sound is beautiful.

I play the bass guitar, and have been for over 6 years now. In my opinion its the big mean instrument in a general band. The coal truck on the road alongside the sports car (guitar) and the school bus (drums). I love playing bass. I've tried to play other instruments but none are as fun to play as the bass to me. Also, I hate it when bands try to play without bass. If its an acoustic song, fine..(makes sad face), but if its a garage band without a bassist that isn't trying to look for one because they think they sound fine, they don't sound fine, and I can guarantee that without even hearing them. You gotta have that low end to music or it seems like its floating around without purpose.

I play ocarina. Mostly tenor12 ocarina. i play triple ocarina rarely because it so expensive and hard to play. Yet, i have mastered 12 hole, 10, peru-ocarinas and 8 holes.
Reason why triple ocarina is so hard to play.... well look this: http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-46117395216933_2033_1666962

I play violin, but I've not had one in years so I'm probably a bit rusty now. I play some guitar, but I only really picked that up a few months ago. My main instrument though is a keyboard (and piano at close second. Yes, they are different to play :p) and I'm pretty good with that. I was taught how to play violin first, then picked the rest up myself. Best way to learn, methinks.

I myself can currently play the Saxophone (I do in the school band), Clarinet, Gutiar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Piano, and Keyboard. I was raised in a very musical family, so I've sort of adapted to that a bit and I can learn instruments easier. Guitar was self-taught.

I also have the always interesting ability of being able to learn songs by ear, more than likely because I was drilled with music from day one of living.

Yeah, I do that. Funny thing is, you'd think that would be harder. For me it's harder to learn from sheet music. I can read music, yeah, but it takes so long it's incredible. It's so much easier from ear. For me anyway.

I used to play flute for several years (the weird thing is there is no special word for it in english so here is an image https://www.prowinds.com/merchantmanager/images/uploads/Std_Flute.jpg), but I stopped because I didn't like it anymore. Maybe I should pick it up again and learn some zelda tunes ^^

I believe the english term for that instrument is Western Concert Flute. Or C-flute, since it's tuned to C major.

Let's see... I'm playing mostly guitar (including electric, classic, acoustic, multistringed, and steelguitars) , bass (both electric and upright), drums, piano, and cello. I am however capable to play recorder, violin, various percussions and am pretty good at DJing/sampling, and am okay at beatboxing. My only real weakness in instruments is non-wooden wind instruments, but whatever.

I've been playing the piano since I was three years old. I can also play by ear, which is how I learned some Zelda songs :).

Speaking of which, I got an ocarina last Christmas. Not a Zelda one, unfortunately, but it's shaped like a fish, so it's still awesome.

Yeah, I play the little Song of Time tune on my bass often. A while back, I got board and played each note of the ocarina in OoT to see what note it would be on bass. After that, I could pretty much play any of the songs, and doing the portions that come after the part which you actually play isn't difficult at all since they are in the same scale.

I took a variety of instruments in my childhood, including xylophone, recorder, violin, and many forms of percussion. The only instruments I play currently are piano and traditional drums like congas and bongos. I'm actually terrible at reading piano sheet music, so I usually memorize all my piano songs and play from memory, it works much better for me.

SO MANY BRASS PLAYERS!! <3 <3 (and trumpets are the best!)

I play Cornet as my primary instrument, (and the one that I am most decent at) hopefully I will be doing more with it in college next year. I'm in band at school right now...We sight read a piece called Flight of the Griffin the other day. AMAZING song. Seriously- go play it.
I also play Tuba semi-decently. I mostly just played it for pep band (where loudness overrides tone) so my tone is kind of wavery~ sounding. I <3 it dearly though.
I taught myself Tenor Saxophone...It's the coolest sounding woodwind. I am pretty decent on that too- but I haven't played it in a few months...
Lastly- I can play a easy piano song if you give me weeks to practice it. I am not so great at syncapating my hands...
I have an Alto Ocarina- but I don't know where to find good tabs for it. So I mostly just fool around on it.
But yeah, TRUMPETS FTW!!! (And my brass cousins like the trombones- I <3 you guys too...)

I'm on my third year of playing cello, 2nd year with private lessons. I can do a little guitar, and I was taking piano when I was like 7, so I have mostly forgotten everything... except for one song. YANKEE DOODLE
I also play the plastic guitar on expert and 100% on a lot of songs... but that's besides the point, lol.

OK, not godly by any means, but I sound really good. I haven't been able to put it down. It probably has something to do with my Cornet mouthpiece being so similar to the French Horn's...

Oh, crap... >_< I don't play an instrument, but the rest of my family does. My parents gave me no musical talent whatsoever.

My dad plays Bass and is going to teach Orchestra (I think) at a High School this coming school year. We don't know if it will be my High School yet.
My mom knows how the play the flute and the piano and is the choir director at my church.
My big brother plays both upright Bass and electric Bass and does all sorts of crazy music-type stuff.
My little brother, Shnappy, plays Cello and is the only one in his school that's good at it.
My little sister is taking piano lessons. She used to take ballet lessons and likes to sing all the time.
Then, I don't do anything. >_< Well, I do write, but I failed at the piano lessons my parents made me take when I was really little. I have some sense of rhythm, so I suppose I could play drums. (I'm better at that than any other instrument in Rock Band. XP)

I'm not exactly a scholarly person, but I feel that my talent in the arts really makes up for that. I take great pride in the fact that, when it comes to instruments, I'm quite versatile. Currently, I play:

Bassoon
Oboe
Clarinet
Bass Clarinet
Trumpet
Sousaphone
Trombone
French Horn
Tuba
Piano
Organ
Harp
Lyre
Celtic Flute
Ocarina (12 hole)
Vocals (soprano)
Snare Drum
Bass Drum
Tenors
Timpani
Congas
Xylaphone
Vibraphone
Harpsichord
Glass Harmonica
Harmonica

I'm hoping to learn violin one day... and perhaps the ukulele (they sound so jolly!), but right now I just don't have the money for another instrument. Oh, and I'd absolutely love to learn to play the banjo. I looove bluegrass.

I play quite a number of instruments.

I play the Alto Saxophone in my school's Symphonic (Top performance level) Band, and I can also play the Soprano and Tenor Saxophones as well. I probably could play the Baritone Saxophone, but I have never tried.

I had lessons for the Bass Guitar (Although I never needed them) and will play it in the School's Jazz Band (There's only one) I also play it for school-wide performances such as the Schools Talent shows. (Last year, me and two others played 'All the Small Things' by Blink-182 and got first. Sadly, there was no prize)

I taught myself to play both Guitar (mainly Electric) and Piano. I only play piano when writing to figure out what key the song is in. And to prove that I can play 'Mary had a Little Lamb' with accuracy. I absolutely love the Guitar, and I think I'm quite good at it, but have never had a lesson.

That's 7 instruments total (Including Baritone Saxophone)

Well, I self-taught myself Piano and Guitar. I can read tabs for the guitar since they're quite simple actually, but I can't actually read sheet music. I took a guitar class in high school for required art credit, but didn't actually learn anything from it aside from how to play Don't Fear (The Reaper). I prefer piano, I like the way it sounds better, but I play the guitar from time to time. I kind of lost interest since my guitar is older than I am and gets itself out of tune on a daily basis.

well as my sig shows i do play the cello for about 10 years...
A little word of advice for the younger generation of people on this forum is that no matter kind of mental wall u will experience (and believe me i have come across quite a lot when i change teachers and have to adopt a new technique or i get taller and positioning of the body has to change in terms of bowing and such for a cellist in particular....haha)

anyway before i get to carried away...don't give up because the joy of learning music is eternally gratifying and will be something that u will cherish!!

hope to see all of u on the big stage playing a concerto or in the worlds leading orchestras!!!

ok... the Instruments i play are my Ocarina and an old harmonica. The harmonica was given when i was four. i played it even to this day, but it has lost it's.......tune. I keep it to help me get an inspiration. The ocarina was a gift from my dad. He gave it to me before he died. He knew i wanted an Ocarina so he actually spent part of his inheritance to get me a songbird Ocarina. To me, it's like getting 500 birthday gifts on Christmas.

Guess i'm off to play..

Wow there's a big range of instruments here xDD

Me, I've always liked music... I think it's a wonderful thing to be able to play it yourself on an instrument, I love making up my own tunes and playing Zelda songs by ear xDD I know a little bit of various things... I loved messing around on our electronic keyboard when I was younger (and actually started formal tutoring for the piano with a really creepy old teacher who scared me away in the end xD)... and I had a yellow acoustic guitar missing a string, but I never really got into that, it was too bulky for my liking xD I prefer smaller woodwind instruments lol

Properly, I can play tenor and soprano recorders (learnt at school ), and I self taught myself how to play a 6-hole tenor ocarina a month or two ago, and I love it so much :3 Hopefully I'll be able to get a 10/12 hole to try when I have more money~
I can also play the penny whistle (though I don't because it sounds bad) and I could probably get a tune out of a harmonica as well xDD

I play the violin and a little bit of piano. I can only play on the Treble clef side and with both hands because it's just confusing for me to play two parts at the same time. But the violin is great, but I don't like it when my Orchestra teacher gives me violin 2 music. I mean I'll play it, but I like challenges :)

I thought I posted in this thread but I can't find a post from me o_O

Ah well, I used to play/have an Alto Saxophone. I've played it for two years. The middle school I went to where I lived cut Band off the curriculum, so I had the decision to continue playing Saxophone and march or stop playing. I chose the latter. The Band teacher in my high school requires one to march if they want to participate in Band. I didn't want to march, so we sent the saxophone back.
I have also played a Baritone Saxophone. That thing's a monster o_O

I also have a guitar, but I don't play it at all. I won it at a fair. It took me $20 to get it. All it does is sit in my closet and collect dust :P

As of now, I have a 12-hole ocarina. Its a replica of the Ocarina of Time from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

I play Guitar, I'm pretty much self-taught but then again I'm really not that good haha. I have an acoustic (my first guitar ever) and two electric. I love my electrics, especially the first one I got because it has a wammy bar which is the coolest thing ever invented besides Zelda! I mostly play simple Zelda songs on it which is really fun. I love changing the notes around a little to make the songs have my own feel to them, and blasting them full volume with my amp. Crazy fun. I'd like to get a teacher or at least a partner to practice with so I can actually get really good, though.

Weeeell, I used to be in the school band from fourth grade to ninth grade. At first, I played the flute. I was absolutely NO good at it. My fingers were too slow, and my flute itself was bad quality. I sounded horrible playing that thing... But I loved it. The flutes got such lovely melodies. I stopped around 8th grade, when I left my flute in the instrument closet and never saw it again. How I wish I remembered to pick it up.

In 8th grade, I started playing the marimba/mallets/xylophone/whateveryouwannacallit. I was decently good at it, because it was essentially a big piano, something I was somewhat familiar with beforehand. My only issue with the mallets was the fact that you had to split your vision in two - one to look at the music itself, and one to keep track of where your mallets are hitting the keys. I never mastered this, and I often ended up memorizing the pieces we were playing. I did really love this instrument, and I wish I could pick it up again.

In 9th grade, I started playing the alto saxophone. Worst year of my life, and I would never return to this instrument if you set me on fire. I was absolutely awful at it, I couldn't play any of the songs I was assigned, and the teacher was so strict and so mean to me. Ruined the instrument for me forever.

I'll be getting an ocarina soon, and I hope it'll come easily to me, since I've played woodwinds in the past. It seems like a generally easy instrument to pick up, as it only has so many buttons and button combinations, unlike the ridiculous saxophone.

I think I replied to this thread already, but I can't go back to edit it, so I will write and add extra stuff to it.

I started learning music in second grade. It was a school activity, so I didn't really miss anything. After a year later, we got to choose instruments. Everyone wanted to pick guitar, but the music school was already filled up on guitar teachings. Therefore, since I wanted to play guitar as well, chose to play the violin as another stringed instrument. I was doing awesome, except, I was a little lazy to practice... I loved it when I performed my pieces as a piano duet. It sounded beautiful, and I was leading the piano, so I developed some leadership. I stopped learning the violin after fourth grade, because I moved to America. In 6th grade, I heard about the beginner band for middle school. It was a prep for the middle school band, so I joined. My best friend encouraged me to play the clarinet, and luckily, I got one for free from one of my parent's friends. I loved the band and I was chosen for the Advanced Band in 7th grade. The Advanced Band was for 8th graders, so it was an honor. There were a few other kids of my age who were chosen as well. I also picked up the violin again, after hearing about Free Music School, in CA, and my parents suprised me with a violin of my own.

Now, in 8th grade, I had to move to Florida. A few months before I left, I was told that I made it to the school's Jazz Band/Stage Band, the highest band in the school where my band leader picks certain people to be in. That meant that I had to learn to play the saxophone, for Jazz tunes. I played it for a couple of months, and got the hang of it. I wish to get a saxophone of my own. I also decided to sit out this year, even though my new school has a band class. I practice by myself, and I take proper care of my instruments.
Wow, I just realized the lenght of this post. I think it includes my whole entire music career so far...

Super encouragement, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING IF YOU JUST BELIEVE! You can try to say whatever you want, it's just going to end up like that. I play Saxophone, Alto. It's the only form of the saxophone I can play, and saxophone is just awesome. I've been able to get it to sound like Deku Pipes, too.

I can play the piano. I just need to learn how to play Song Sheets. I taught myself how to play the beginning of Fourside/I love you, the beginning of Mother 3 Love theme and Skyward Sword's Beginning of Ballad of the Goddess

I'm a percussionist. If you know what percussion instruments are, I can play almost every single one of them. I've been playing for about 6 years, and I love every bit of it. My best instrument is the marching snare drum. I am on the snare line in my college marching band, and I really enjoy it.

I play Bass Guitar. I'm okay, I can kind've read music though, but it takes a long time to get the piece down. I can do ocarina tabs, and now 3-4 chords on guitar.

I played trumpet in 4th - 6th grade. It might have been three years since then, yes, but I'd be willing to bet I still got it. ;)

I have a guitar and plan to start learning as soon as I find someone who'd actually be willing to teach me, that I could get along with and respect. That's hard to find in this town.

I play the cello. It is less convenient that the violin but the lower, richer tone is well worth it.

I play Drums, mainly cause without you, most bands would fall apart. Unless you had a really rhythmic bassist.

Self-Taught to play the Ocarina (many types) since I was about 8.
Teacher/Self (Both) to play Guitar when I was 14.
I used to play piano when I was seven, but my teacher said I sucked and I would never go anywhere in life so I quit.

I've played ze guitar for about 2 und a half years, und I like to sink that I am at least upper mediocre at it. I mean, I haven't taken lessons or anysing, but I do know how to play at least a hundred or so songs (alzough, what I know and what I can remember are zwei different sings). I recently learned 'Fly By Night', which I have been playing a lot. I also recently learned 'Typing like Germans talk, and vaiting a very long while to acknowledge it.' A lesser known Abba single, but un decent one I sink. I also just got a banjo, which I love but am horrible at. I can play several songs on the piano, but I'm not sure if you could really say I know how to play it.
