Out of all existing controllers, which one is your favorite?
Mine is by far the Gamecube. It handles comfortably, has amazing face buttons and just the best one to pick up and use.
(For the Poll, I only put PS3 and not PS2/PS1 to save room as they're all the same really)

I like the Classic Controller a lot. The GC controller was great, but I am also a big fan of the PS2 style. The Classic Controller just felt right when playing about anything on the VC. The only part that sucks about it is the cord comes out of the bottom like the DC controller did. I hated that controller, and that was one of the reasons. But the Classic isn't as aggravating as the DC controller was.
I would have to agree with you on the Gamecube Controller. I probably like it because it's the one I've used the most, and everything's laid out good.

Wii remote.
It's the only next gen controller, and it's very unique.

Definately the N64 controller. It has a crap load of buttons, yet it places them all in a comfortable and organized design. Minus the whole "You abuse the analog stick, and it messes up/You don't use the analog stick, and it sticks" issue. Plus, it allowed for memory packs, microphones (Remember 'I Choose You, Pikachu!'?), opitional rumble paks (that is how Nintendo spelled it!), and the Transfer Pak (Only other time something like this was used was on Pokemon Battle Revolution, Pokemon Box, and Animal Crossing: City Folk).

I've always liked the GC controller a lot. It's layed out good and all the buttons are easy to use. It's really easy to get used to.

I actually really like the Xbox 360 controller I feel that it has a good button layout for my different types of games.

I liked the Gamecube controller to be honest. The Xbox 360 controller was hardly different than the Xbox one, and that one's buttons were almost all the same. I haven't played a Wii yet, so I don't know how that is, and the N64 controller was far too awkward to hold when I went to my friend's house to play his. (I never owned an N64.)
I liked the Gamecube's, because the buttons are all different, so your brain can easily make a distinction between them all, and maybe it was just me, but they all worked. Literally I have bought 3 GCN controllers, and they all work, as apposed to the 12 Xbox controllers I bought, in which only 1 works.

If you can't notice the difference between the 360 controller and regular Xbox controller, then you must literally be blind and your nerves probably aren't connected to your hands. The original Xbox Controller was a freaking monster, it was such a fat hunk o' junk, the 360 one is smaller but I hate them both. 360 has terrible face buttons and the Xbox controller is overall disgusting.
The only bad thing about the GC Controller was the D-Pad, everything else was good though.
I'd have to say the Gamecube. Every Nintendo controller is great, IMO, but that one is themost comfortable/easiest to play.
Playstations, aren't too bad, but I find them slightly more awkward.
Never played a 360, but the regular XBox controllers are awfull, IMO. They're too bulky, and hard to handle.

The gamecube controller is the best. It comfortable to use and because all the buttons have a different color or shape you don't mix up the buttons quickly. The N64 controller is weird, why did they hide the Z button under the controller?!
I don't like the PS2 controller because of the trigger buttons. you have R1 and R2 and because they are trigger buttons, you can't see the top with the number on it, so i mixed those up quite often. I never used a xbox controller, but the old one looked like a brick and the new one looks ugly.

As far as just holding it your hand comfort the GCN controller is probably my favorite. Even the face buttons worked very well, especially on games designed around it.
But the classic controller is also great since it feels very much like the SNES controller. It has a great D-pad and face buttons.
If it wasn't for the seperated D-pad on the Playstation controller I'd probably hold it in higher regard.
The Wii remote with the nunchuck is also fantastic and comfortable. Having your hands seperated like that would seem uncomfortable but man you can really relax depending on the game.

I realize the difference. I was talking more about the layout of the controller, like button scheme. Besides the "bumpers", the 360 controller is no different, layout-wise. On top of that, I meant that all of the buttons (A,B,YX,) are all the same circular shape, and one who doesn't play Xbox that much would lose track of them for a while.

This thread has caused me many casualties. I typed out a huge reply twice but it didn't work because of my stupid internet.
So I'm going to come out and say Nintendo Wii and not make a big post regarding every controller for fear I will encounter an inconvenience once again.

Gamecube. It had all of the buttons in comfortable places, the C-stick replaced all of the C-buttons, giving more room for the x and y buttons, and the joystick didn't tire my thumb nearly as much as the awkwardly placed PS joystick.

Although it seems like most people don't like the Xbox 360 controller, I have to say that I do. It fits perfectly into your hand, the buttons are all easily reachable and in convenient locations.
I will give props to the wavebird controller though, that thing is awesome.

Judging by my lack of experience I would say nintendo 64. The buttongs were fairly conveiniently placed, but the few times i went on an xbox It was hard. And playstation controllers...ugh. Whats the point of 2 joysticks, and those other buttons don't make sense. Square, circle, trianle, and X....why? It's didicult to use and jerky.

Gamecube for me. It's very easy to hold, has all the main buttons around the A button and i've had a Gamecube since I was 8 and it's been with me ever since. ^^

the design of the n64 contoller is awsome.
but my vote goes to the GC controller.
Its just a contoller that fits good in your hands and its relaxing and easy.

Gamecube. I really like the feel and how you can reach all buttons easily.
I might've said PS3 but in some games you have to use the left analog stick while using the left D-pad, so you have to move your fore-finger akwardly.
Wii is good but I don't like the 1 and 2 buttons.
And N64 is good but at first I always held it at both ends. Not one in the middle.

Wiimote for the win! So interactive, and fun! I like swinging it around like a sword in TP. Most likely the best controller in the history of gaming.

I would say either N64 controller or Game Cube. The Game Cube controller was very comfortable and worked quite well, easy to use. Still, I really liked the design of the N64 controller, in the sense that one could choose to hold it from one side or the other, and the placement of the Z button and Joystick.
The Wii remote I also found to be a great controller, it was intuitive and fun to use, I enjoyed be able to fight enemies by actually mimicking the motion to attack.

The Gamecube controller is easily the best, with the N64 coming a close second. Nintendo has always been the best IMO in creating ergonomically designed controllers. The Gamecube is so perfectly moulded to your hands that you can sometimes forget it's there.
Control scheme is also what the Gamecube does well. All the buttons are easy to reach and, for me, it's easier to remember the controls for a new game on GC controllers. The only small problem is the L and R buttons. Sometimes, when you need to be quick, the analogue prevents you from doing so (e.g. in Smash when you need to block/dodge, although in Brawl you can reassign the buttons).
The N64 came second only because of the horribly designed control stick, which wears out easily and can hurt your thumb/palm (Mario Party ;)).
I also have a PS3, and the controllers aren't bad, but they feel very loose and they don't mould to your hands very well. Also, the control sticks have rounded edges, instead of the grooved ones on Nintendo controllers, making it harder to move in a straight line.
I love how can you place the Memory card in the actual remote :) That's what that thing is for? Wow... I've had that thing for 11 years, and I never knew what it was.

Right now. The 360 controller. It fits in my hands just right once I get used to it. But the N64 controller was perfect for the time. I feel the 2 controller sticks on the 360 are perfectly placed though ^^

Playstation controllers. Or DualShock3 if you wanna be precise... I have always loved the layout of the playstation controllers and they always seem to fit perfectly. I was really shocked when the Sixaxis didn't come with rumble, but dualshock fixed that. On honorable secound place is GC, very similar to the PS3.
And a quick question to all that picked N64, what exactly is so appealing about the N64 controller? The whole trident is just so... stupid. No matter in which way you use the controller is two buttons completley useless and you wont touch nearly a half of the entire controller.

Im actually enjoying the GC controller lots from yesterday. Hmm. And for me the Playstation controller seems to cramp my hands because the joy sticks are even with each other
Does this happen to anyone else? I think out of the 2 joy stick controllers the 360 controller is still my favorite. But I still love the SNES controller to death ^^

I don't like non-nintendo controllers, they tend to be crampy... the PS2 one maybe the best out of non-nintendo controllers imo

Agreed.
The original Xbox controlers were horribly bulky, and I don't see much improvement on the 360 controler.

Eeek! The first Xbox controller was a nightmare >< It was soooo big I couldnt even hold it in my hands.
Bill Gates must have thought everyone had big man hands or something >>
360 controller is actually smaller and much more comfortable for me.. its still kind of big.. but I get cramps from Playstation controllers instead of Xbox ones.

I'm kinda torn between the wii remote and the gamecube controller. I ended up voting for the gamecube controller so I guess that means I like it more. The wii mote is still awesome though, I guess I'm just not quite used to it yet.

Classic controller because it can handle any game controller scheme. Worst would be N64 controller. The three stubs are unnecessary and the D pads are unnecessary
the gamecube fits my style, it has some confort and easy handling, my favorite of all game controllers! after wii mote of course! )wii mote and nunchuck makes me rock!!!, yeah swing that wii mote!)

You guys keep complaining about the N64 controller, but, imo, it has the best "trigger button" location out of all Nintendo controllers.
It gives a smoother playability to Zelda games for example, where pressing Z happens frequently, and, the place where it is placed is a very comfortable one

I voted for the Classic Controller. Never tried it but I guess it should be the one that reminds the most of the good old NES controller. Am I correct?

Why does everyone hate the Xbox controller so much? I love it!
I don't hate the bulkiness; rather, I embrace it! The analog sticks were much better on the Xbox/360 controllers than on the PS and GC controllers. It just felt so much more comfortable to play on the Xbox. Now don't get me wrong here; I play Pikmin and Starfox every once in a while. I just happen to like Halo 2/3 and the Battlefront series much, much more.

I'd have to say the PS3 controller. I'm not much of a Sony fanboy, but I love the Playstation controller. It's buttons are perfectly mapped out and in reach of the joysticks at both ends of the entire device. The Xbox controller resembles an amorphous blob for me to handle easily. I love the Gamecube controller, but it's not as versatile as the Playstation controller. The Playstation controller has two sets of L and R buttons, which facilitates menu options and things of that nature a bit easier than the Gamecube controller. Also, the joysticks are pressable buttons on the PS2 and PS3 controllers, which not only gives games more options for accessing menus and such, but also eliminates the need for another set of buttons to do just that. In short, the Playstation controller does a lot more with the space it has.
The classic controller was a great idea, but as Nintendo always does, they took that great idea and turned it into something impractical. It's an attachment to the Wiimote, so the the Wiimote will just be hanging down from the controller, which makes it a bit less appealing. But it doesn't end there, no. It's attached to the Wiimote from the bottom of the controller, which is contrary to how controllers are set up. So you have the chord of the Wiimote not only hanging down into your lap, but it's hanging from a position that hasn't been used by a video game controller in a long time.
Like I said, I like the Gamecube controller, but it's not as versatile as the Playstaion controller. I didn't find the N64 controller as bad as everyone said it was, I personally wasn't bothered by the awkward handle setup as most people were, but I can see where people are coming from when they dislike the N64 controller.

Before I got a GC I would have said the N64 controller, but now I would have to say the GC controller.
First off, the Gamecube's controller is small. My hands are small. It fits almost perfectly in my hand, and my hands don't 'cramp up' from holding it to long during an extreme game fest. This almost always happens to me during a game fest with other controllers.
Secondly, it's easy for me to keep a grip on the GC controller's analog stick, and on Sony analog sticks. However on old systems my hands easily cramp on the plus pad and on the N64 my fingers would hurt on the analog stick if I played too long, not to mention the 64 controllers analog sticks are easy to wear out.
However, I find the button layout on the N64 better than the GC controller. Alot of it has to do with the Z button. The location of the Z button is brilliant. When playing a FPS like Goldeneye 007, it is located in such a way that it seems to mimic pulling the trigger of a gun.
Overall, the deciding factor for me is the fact that the gamecube controller fits in my hand perfectly, if it wasn't for that I would probably find the N64 one tied with the GC if not superior.
Thanks for listening to my opinion, and goodbye!
