Dreams About Video Games

I've had plently of these, ranging from Zelda to Mario to Banjo Kazooie. I was the main protagonist in each of the dreams and I wandered around the protagonist's world. They are a few of my favorite dreams. Do you have any gaming dreams?

Actually now that I think about it, I think I had a Sonic the Hedgehog dream back when I was little. Nowadays I dream more about anime. :)

A few months prior to the N64 being released I had a dream about playing Mario 64 for the first time.

I've also had dreams that have similar feels to Resident Evil or Silent Hill.

Yeah, this proves I've got a problem.
1. When I didn't play Super Smash Bros. Brawl for an entire week, I had a strange dream. I forgot to get in my parent's car as they were going to the mall a half hour down the high-way from my house (real places). Out of nowhere, Sonic the Hedgehog comes in and insists that I climb on his shoulders and he gives me a ride to the mall. I did, and I was there in a matter of seconds. There, he supposedly ran into Mario and beat the crap out of him. Then it ended from there.
2. Not sure if this did happen, but I woke up in Kokari Forest after not playing OoT for about a month. I did die from a Deku Baba.

I have video game dreams all the time. Dreams about Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Kirby, Pokemon etc. And sometimes a mix of different games. I can't remember any off the top of my head, but they're usually pretty wacko...

Not to go off topic, but I did once, when I was really small and scared of spiders, have a strange dream where a huge spider climbed out of my grandparents' basement and it ate me. Just as it ate me, I felt this warm rush go through my body just as it happened, when you are on the border of Dream/Wake up. No wet spots...:rolleyes:

lol cool mine was I was in the dekutree with one of my friends, but for some reason, we were fighting King dodongo instead of Ghoma, and he had to fight him the same way you would fight a normal dodongo! Wierd huh?

i don't really dream about LoZ, but I do something close. at night, i do this thing where i create a LoZ adventure in my mind. i think about it, and i make different things happen to the characters. i even add characters. and a few times, i "edited" characters that already exist (Linebeck, Gonzo, Niko, e.t.c.). i seperate the different sections of the adventure in a strange way. each part of the adventure is a "season". i'm on season 4 right now, btw. i call this entire thing a "dream" because of the phrase daydreaming. sometimes i "dream" during the day, with my eyes open. i dont do this much, because it's harder to focus in bright light.

Currently, I'm having a lot of dreams about videogames.

So, I'll try to explain what the dreams were about:
Some videogame nerd scientist (xD) invented a machine where people could go to to emerge in the worlds of their favorite videogames.
Things like weilding swords or handling guns (for example) are programmed into the heads of the players à la Matrix. Then they will compete in the respective game for a big prize or they can just casually enter and leave it.

My dreams were specifically about Zelda, and, for some reason, Metal Gear Solid. ^^;

Did anyone actually understand this (or take the time to read it)? xD

One time I had a dream that I was Navi flying around in the Temple of Time after playing OoT for a long time.

Then after I played Doom 3.. I was dreaming in 3rd person and a Hell Knight was on a train in the Delta laps with me and it beat me up and killed me. No.. really.. that one was a nightmare =O

I dreamed he got eerily fat.

Yes. Most of them are Zelda related.

I had a dream I was TP Link chasing Fox through a cave until I lost sight of him. I then turned into Wolf Link. I reached the end of the cave. There were people there. This kid started throwing spiders at me, so I killed him. I killed everyone else in the room until only one person was left. He made a dog appear magically, and I killed both him and the dog. I then climbed a staircase to the top, where it was now a skyscraper instead of a cave. Micheal Jackson was up there. He said he didn't know why he was there but the view was fantastic. Then Fox came up from the staircase, and we were about to fight. He attacked me then jumped off the skyscraper and commited suicide.


I was WW Link in Wind Waker. I was on that volcano where you get the Power Bracelet, except there was land there, instead of it being just a volcano. The land was in the shape of a sideways 8. I was surrounded from both sides by two Big Octos shooting bombs. At that time I was afraid of Big Octos because of their size ( and still am ) so it was a very traumatizing experience for me. I was desperate to escape, so I tried playing the Ballad of Gales on land, and strangely enough, it worked. It teleported me to an island that looked like Windfall Island or Dragon Roost Island, but it was neither of the two. I looked to the right and noticed a cave. Instead of a cave, it was some sort of primitive bathroom, as I noticed when I got closer to it. The dream ended there.


I was in Antractica with some people I didn't know, the exception being Link. We were holding a festival for some unknown reason. This fat Scottish guy dressed as a snowman jumped into the water and got sucked into a whirlpool. Kyogre came out of the water and it looked mad. I followed Link to his house ( which looked a lot like mine ). Kyogre was still chasing us. I jumped out of the way as Link opened the door to the oven. Kyogre wasn't paying attention to where it was going, and accidentally jumped in. Link closed the door to the oven with Kyogre still in it.


I was WW Link on some unknown island. There were five lasers; one in each corner and one in the center. The one in the center was basically a Beamos, only without the body and just the laser eye. I had it hit the other four lasers in the corner of the island. When it did, the laser eye in the center dissapeared and Mewtwo appeared in it's place. It said, "I'm Mewtwo. Do you have our Queen? I've collected a lot of shadows throughout my journey." Instead of fighting me itself, it threw a Poke Ball and Feraligatr came out. I transformed from WW Link to Ash Ketchum. Mewtwo teleported us to the Poke Floats stage in Super Smash Bros. Melee. However, instead of jumping from float to float hoping not to fall down, we could both walk on air. I fought Feraligatr with Venusaur and won.


I was WW Link sailing in the night in the Great Sea, thinking to myself that it's been a long time since I've seen land. Then, a voice in my head told me to jump in the water. I jumped in, but instead of falling through, I was walking on the water. I then got back on the King of Red Lions and fell asleep. I woke up an hour later, still sailing but with no clue where I was. I saw Cyclos on his cyclone following a ship. His cyclone eventually reached the ship and tore it to pieces. I eventually reached Outset Island, where things were different from before. There was a volcano where the forest should have been, Aryll was a 17-year old hooker, grandma was sitting on a couch talking to my eighth grade science teacher, and other weird things I can't remember at the moment.


I was myself in this dream, stranded on an island. Agahnim came out of a hut and used his power to send me floating through space. A robot shaped like a microphone found me, and we traveled from planet to planet searching for the Triforce. We eventually found it. Angry that we found it first, Ganondorf sent me floating directly towards the sun. I was close to making physical contact with the sun when the sun exploded, sending me crashing down back to where I was on the stranded island. I was now swimming in lava from the sun's explosion. However, despite the explosion of the sun and swimming in lava, I felt no pain at all.


I was on a cliff on top of the Mountain Village near Snowhead. There was a huge pile of snow, so I set the snow on fire with a Fire Arrow. It revealed the entrance to an unknown dungeon. I went inside. The first room was filled with ReDeads, so I stunned them all with the Sun's Song. When only one ReDead was left, it turned black and started walking at medium speed, unlike other ReDeads which are slow. It started changing colors rapidly now. For each color, it fired a laser of the same color it currently was. I reflected the lasers back until I froze it in place, and finished it in one blow with the sword. In the next room, WW Ganondorf came up and said something I can't remember. Then, options on what Link should say came up ( you know, like when a character asks Link a question in Zelda games). I chose "Why did you drink the last soda?" Ganondorf told me to follow him to find out. He led me to a small room with only a toilet, but the toilet was spotless. Ganondorf approached the toilet when two huge worms came out of the toilet. They both looked like Molgera from Wind Waker, but instead of being made of sand, one was made of fire and one was made of ice. Ganondorf froze in fear. I was about to fight them when the dream ended.

When I was a kid of course I dreamed of video games. I also remember a dream about Harry Potter quite distinct. I was at my school when that 3-headed dog from the first book/movie started attacking our school (sorta like godzilla lol). then me and my friends ran to my house since it was close to my school. then I remember we his under my mom/dads bed and then, we looked out the window and there he was. Then I woke up (Just in time!)

I remember when me, my friend, and his dad were playing Driver for the PlayStation. We used cheats so that you couldn't die and the game was still hard as hell. Maybe we just sucked, either way, the timer killed us.

Anyway, I stayed the night over there and we played Driver for so long that when I closed my eyes I felt like I was still playing. I dreamt I was in the car at night with lights glaring all over and cops bashing into the doors. It was horrible. It was as if I was stuck in the Twilight Zone.

you know that part in minish cap dark hyrule castle when there is a platformin front of you but there is a pit seperating it from you and bombable block at the edge, with platforms with bob-ombs on either side. i could'nt figure it out then i had a dream about what the swordsman newsletter said and in the morning knew how to blow up the blocks by sucking up the bob-ombs with the gust jar and blowig them out at the smashed blocks.

resident evil escape from hell

well i had this one where i was lost in a forest with no way out then a few zombies ambushed me (they almost bit me at that point but they missed) then i found a huge piece of wood and started smacking the zombies upside the head (they died after the 10th hit) then i found a sword case and i took it with me and a few more apperd (i used the sword and found out it was a giant fork) then i stabbed them in the brains (after the 4th hit they died) then i found a sawed off shotgun (then i checked it... it was a sawed off with infet ammo)then a guy with an axe (from resedint evil outbreak file 2 on the flashback stage) i poped its head with 7 - 99 shells (no effect) then i tried the giant fork (still no effect) then the piece of wood (it broke after the 1st hit without an effect) at that point i was done for... then i took its axe and hit it in the back of the head (its super effective he died after the 10th hit) then 50 zombies apperd out of noware and i blew their heads off with the sawed off then i found an opening but it lead to racoon city from resident evil but before i left the forest i found an ak47 by the end of the tree line then i enterd the city then i enterd the closest building hopeing to find survivors but none were found in the whole city so far (end)

Well, I had a dream in which the park I've been working on was located down the street from my house. Of course, due to a strange turn of events, and my alarm clock, I didn't go inside, but I did manage to see it from the parking lot.

I had one weird one with Banjo and Kazooie. They were on this island, and it's split into 2 sides, so everyone has an alt, like in Super Paper Mario with Flipside and Flopside. So anyway, let's say, since I didn't give names to these division, Flipside and Flopside would be good. So they end up at Flipside first, and they go around, bla bla bla, and they find out about a Dark Banjo and Kazooie, and they do more stuff, and end up in the Flopside of it, and then I woke up. :(

Sometimes at night I have a nightmare that I'm in Silent Hill (the games) and I'm walking a foggy street, holding a pipe in defense. I walk endlessly through my dream, occasionally running into monsters and killing them, but then at the very end I start walking into Toluca Lake where I drown then wake up...

One of the strangest dreams that I ever had. My Alias is of another dream "The Blood Wolf" which something happened in my dreams that I may later talk about, but for now I'm not so sure. =/

It was sort of like the real world except there were random dungeons and bosses you had to defeat, just walking around in your average life (ex. you'd have to defeat a temple just to walk down the street to the local coffee shop). Same here. I sometimes have dreams I'm in levels of Banjo Kazooie or Banjo Tooie (mostly Tooie, since I play that wayyy more often). Sometimes I am in a made up level of the game.

I keep a dream journal. That means I write down all the dreams I have in detail. I started the beginning of January 2009. Looking back I can see I have had several video game dreams, some referring to OoT as well.

I've also had dreams where I'm in an anime. If anyone's ever heard of 'Yu Yu Hakusho', that's the one. :P

I dreamt that I was Roxas from Kingdom Hearts or something and for some reason when I summoned the keyblade I summoned a pool noodle or something (yes my dreams are very random). Princess Peach was there too and for some reason I kept leaving her money. I have no clue why I dreamed like that but I did.

I've had a dream anout Zelda recently. I don't remember all, but here is what I remember the most: :thinking:

I was in a town and I took the bus because I had to go to a house. Someone had given me a quest and I had to do it. So, when I arrived in the street, I disembarked the bus and I got to a house. I knocked at the door and... it was Ganon who opened the door! He was exactly looking like OOX Ganon. He was tall and big.

Then, he said I had to do something for him. So I followed him to the basement, and the room was really big.There was a huge door against a wall. Then, Ganon gave me a long wooden stick. He said I had to use it to kill all the monsters that were sealed behind the huge door. I told him I was ready, then he pulled a lever and the huge door opened. Right after that, many monsters were running in my direction.

Using my stick, I killed most of them easily, I got hurt a little... After a while, Ganon asked me if I was okay. I said yes and monsters were still coming in the room. They were tougher and tougher...

And I woke up. :cooky:

My dreams just gather images and symbols from every single aspect of my waking life, and since video games in general ARE a part of my life, they naturally appear in my dreams.

Sometimes they play a major role (Recently, I had a dream I was exploring a Banjo-Kazooie level, though it was completely different from any actual level) and other times there will be some minuscule feature in my dream borrowed from a game.

However, as I said, EVERYTHING appears in my dreams.

I just woke up from a bizarre one, but it has more to do with these forums.

I had a dream that ZD was a real, physical place for Zelda fans to gather. In fact, it was this series of white buildings with nicely manicured lawns... I was building some sort of map/guide for Majora's Mask upon one of these lawns (which is strange because I found MM quite difficult, have only played it through once and am hesitant to ever play it through again). It was sort of like a big relief-map - what I was doing. I was half done, just finished my physical guide to the Snowhead Dungeon, and was about to go to another area of the ZD complex to mark down my progress/note to people that wanted to use my project that it was only half-done.

That's when a van showed up, loaded with secret agent/government types, and they suddenly barred everyone from going to the main areas of the complex. So, I was stuck inside the entrance buliding, wondering what was going on and why I could not proceed to other areas.

Then my alarm clock buzzed.


And this is *not* the first time I've dreamt about an Internet forums being an actual place. Back when I went to Team Rocket Headquarters regularly, I remember having a very distinct dream about how everyone on the forums lived in this big Team Rocket HQ apartment complex. I think it also turned into a zepplin.


Please don't try to figure out how my subconcious works. I've been trying all my life.

I've constantly had the Tetris effect but for other non-Tetris puzzle games, such as Panel de Pon. It's crazy. I used to have Zelda dreams. Maybe it's because I've been playing less video games due to the amount of other things in my life. I remember this one epic I had as a child after getting Ocarina of Time. It was an 8-month-long dream. Where one dream ended, the next began. Through this period I worked on having lucid dreams, starting off the next dream to be the beginning of the next chapter, and then letting it run loose.

That's how I dream now, actually. I have a lucid dream (for those who don't know: you can control it) and then willingly lose control of it to have that element of surprise. The most memorable ones I have nowadays are ones where I cannot successfully induce myself into a state where I can lucid dream. Usually this is because I'm sick. For example, I had swine flu last Sunday, and man what a strange dream that was. I was at George W. Bush's personal pizza party in like, Chucke Cheese's.

I wonder what that symbolizes...

I don't really dream about trivial things. The only video game I had a dream of was Tetris. I would play the game in my head and improve my tetris skills. Some nights it was bothersome to fall asleep. Too many colors and shapes flashing through my mind.

When I was playing TP I continued dreaming about the Game. After a week I got tired of Link so I played another Game. When I played OoT or ST Link returned again in my dreams. I really like Linky but this was getting annoying :p

I had a dream about the Triforce once, back when there were all these rumors flying around about how to get it in OoT (even though I didn't care about it).

Basically, I dreamed that I saw the Triforce at the other end of a long field in the Golden Land. There were several other gamers there... they were all holding N64 controllers and bashing each other with them trying to reach the Triforce. A few of them were knocked out. I rolled my eyes at them, walked up, and started explaining something really complex which caused them all to become confused and start attacking themselves.

After that, I went up to touch the Triforce, but when I did... I found that I could only take the Triforce of Wisdom. The other two pieces just vanished. I remember making a wish, but I don't remember exactly what it was. I believe it was along the lines of, "I want everyone and everything to start making sense."

At first, everything was going well. Science and technology started improving at a phenomenal rate. After a while, though, things began to get weird. The law was enforced dogmatically, and even the slightest error was met with the death penalty. All art except certain kinds of abstract art ceased to exist, and the design of everything became more and more purely functional in design. People became increasingly apathetic and dispassionate about everything, until eventually machines were all that kept them alive. Nothing more happened after this, though. People just languished in despair, were quite wise, and knew why they were unhappy. They lazily exchanged ideas directly from mind-to-mind out of boredom, but no longer had either the ability or the conviction to do anything about them. They stopped reproducing, but their machines had managed to make them immortal. They eventually gained all possible knowledge because their machines kept evolving and feeding new data back to them, but they just lingered like this for eternity... and nothing ever changed.

I had an EarthBound dream that went a bit like this: I was a fifth member of Ness' crew. So we're walking around in Fourside fighting hippies, which wouldn't make sense since by the time Poo joined, we would've been able to just get a free win. Then all of a sudden Pokey comes down in a helicopter and throws a mr saturn at us, then Dr. Andonuts comes in and knocks us unconscious. When I cam to, I was a robot, and so was everyone else. And we were in Giygas' lair. The Devil's Machine spontaneously blew up, and then Pokey laughed and ran away. Then Giygas' true form is revealed and everyone is singing the eight melodies while yelling at me to pray.

It was weird.

I had a really weird dream.
Link had pulled the Four Sword out, but instead of splitting into colors red blue and purple, he was in red orange and yellow. Orange and yellow ran away to the Spirit Temple, except it looked more like a musium. I followed them there and went in, and I saw them there and they were like "We just need to talk alone!" after awhile, I went to the Faron Woods and I found one of those relaxing chairs tha thad a wheel at the bottom. Somehow it kept balance, and at the bottom of the hill I was rolling down there was a teleporter. I took the teleporter and it took me back to the spirit temple. I convinced the two to come back, but I kept messing up using the teleporter. It threw me back out of the way but at some point i figured out how to use it. Back at home, my mom had made cookies and was going to call the four, but she was like "No, with you around they'd go crazy." and she didn't call them. then I woke up and told everybody about it at breakfast time.

I once had a dream where I was Tetra and Link and I was stuck on an island. Oh, and one that was so weird, that it caused me to write a book about what happened in my dream. (Won't tell you about it though, wayyyy to embarrassing) That's the best I can get out of video game dreams.

when i was in 3rd grade i had the where i went to school and these weird chinese girls who liked alike where walking around. the this giant pokemon pulledoff the roof. then it ended. wait i just thought of something. those girls looked just like this new girl who doesnt speak english!

It's true. I had a dream once that had Link and Vaati fighting with each other with Wind Waker graphics. The only difference was with Vaati was that he had black instead of white where it was supposed to be on his eyes. And instead of transforming into something, he was fighting Link with a sword. And it looked more like I was watching a cutscene in the game but I couldn't see my surroundings. Just the screen. And then, afterwards Vaati turned Link into Dark Link.

It was epic. I even drew a picture Vaati. :P

A couple weeks ago I had a weird Zelda related dream.

I was walking through the market outside of Hyrule Castle (TP version). It was during the daytime, but not a single person was outside. I decided to go to a shop. It turns out thew shopkeeper is a redead (OOT version) and I hate redeads. It asks me if I wanted to buy something and I said that I'm just looking, so he gets angry and attacks me. After a brief struggle to get him off of me I run outside, which is now populated by redeads and I run through the streets screaming. I look down every alleyway looking for a real person. I end up seeing Nayru and she leads me out to Hyrule Field. Once there, she gave me a sword and shield. She told me to led her to her house in Faron Woods. I did that and she invited me in for dinner. The meal included prime rock brisket, some Lon Lon Milk, and potato soup with a side of bread. We ate and just as I was about to leave, she asked me to stay the night, because it is dangerous at night. When dawn breaks, I exit Nayru's house and then the dream stopped.

Prime rock brisket is very good and Hylians can make a mean potato soup.

My dream was weird, back in 2002 when my brother and I started to play Halo. We did the first level at home and the second level on the way to Mexico. At this point in the game you don't have a shotgun or ever seen one. Then we did some more levels in Mexico at night. When we went to sleep I had a dream that my brother and I were in the first level of Halo. I was hiding laying down so a Elite won't find me, so then I got up and everything turned into a first person view and I punched the Elite in the back and he died and then I picked up a shotgun and etc, so when I woke up and my brother and I started to play it again and got further and got up to a point where the shotgun is, I was like what the hell. Then I told him about my dream and how the shotgun looked exactly the same, and then he told me that I was sick and played to much because I had a dream of Halo.:lol:

Whenever I dream, it usually takes place in some videogame world. I used to always dream that I was a Pokemon Trainer. I've also had dreams that I was in Hyrule. I think I like these dreams because they're like a place that I can get away to at night... They make me calm when I even daydream about them too.

I had a dream about a video game last night actually.

I was along with the other survivors in Left 4 Dead 1. We made it to most of the evac points, but no-one turned up. We eventually followed a helicopter to the last known location. We fought off the horde and were evacuated to an island in the South Pacific. (I don't know why. Don't ask. o.o)

So after a few months of living there with about 1000 other people, someone eventually turned up on the shore in a row boat. They were infected, and almost immediatley bit someone and started the infection all over again. D:
It spread rapidly, and since all of our weapons had been taken away, I and the others had nothing to defend ourselves with.

After escaping from the horde, I got into the row boat and escaped into the vast ocean...alone, tired and hungry. :(

I think I had dreams I was in video games when I was younger, but I don't really recall what games or what happened in them. I did dream about Silent Hill 2 a few years ago that felt real and scared the heck out of me being as Silent Hill is a survival/horror series.

I once had a dream that Nemesis from Resident Evil 3 was keeping me locked in my own house. He kept busting through the ceiling and as I kept running towards the front and back of my house to leave I see him drop out of nowhere blocking both my ways. So then he started to chase me and I quickly ran into the bottom bed of my bunk bed and tried hiding. But then I saw him walk in just looking for me pretending he didn't see me until he rushes at me I finally wake up.

I once had a dream that i was link and i was fighting off an army of stalfos. the way i battled them was weird, i didn't have a shield and i was wielding 2 swords which was actually pretty epic (i'm starting to wish that link could actually fight like that) afterwards, i was at hyrule castle and was injured until zelda gave me a red potion. i was then leading the armies of hyrule against ganondorf's armies. and in the center of the battlefield, ganon and i were fighting. i woke up a little bit after i killed ganon and returned peace to hyrule.

I actually had a weird Zelda related dream a few nights ago. The details are getting more vague, but all I remember is this: it involved me, my local mall, and Majora's Mask(the game itself). I was somehow trying to go back in time but couldn't...
It was the weirdest dream I've had in a while. O.o
