View Full Version : Ocarina of Time Best & Worst Temples in OOT.

My best temple in OOT would be The Fire temple because of the music & sound. There are also others I like: Spirit, Shadow, Forest. The worst is the water temple.
Spirit's the second best temple for me! It has cool use of yesterdays graphics! I'd like to see the temple with today's graphics! I bet it would be cool!^^
I think my third temple would be the forest temple. The music and the scenery relaxes me.

I suppose my favourite would have to be the Shadow Temple. It was eery and in a way delved into what Hyrule's past may of been like.
I hated the water temple, though. It was such a pain and took so longer, raising, and lowering the water level..

Best - Shadow Temple/Spirit Temple/Water Temple(tied)
Worst - Mini-Ice Dungeon(where you get the Iron Boots)(i just hate Ice Keeses grrr)

The Spirit Temple is my favorite temple in OoT and all the other games.
My least favorite is the Forest Temple. I never liked it too much.
Best-Would probably be Fire Temple.
Worst-Would have to be without a doubt the water temple.

I love the Forest temple:clap:
Also, Spirit Temple reminds me of Mermaid's Dungeon in OoA

Best temple would be Shadow temple:
It has this dark scary feel and the fun part is about hyrule 's histor (like Kitsu said)
Least, Water temple for sure. Oh god i still get annoyed every time if i replay it.
always swtiching boots with pause screen, always changing water level. And always to make sure you don 't forget a key. This is the first temple i used farore's wind, and god it came in real handy.

My least favorite would have to be the Fire Temple. It wasn't created very good in my opinion.
My favorite would have to be the Spirit Temple by far. It was a great mix between Adult and Young Link. Of course, the Mermaid's Dungeon in OoA was similar because it was a lot of past to present traveling. I really like Twinrova too, great boss.

The best temple was the Spirit one. I really liked it's puzzles, the mirror shield rawks, and the boss and sub-bosses pwn.
The worst is the Shadow temple. The area where my TV is gets a bad glare in daylight time, and the Shadow temple was terrible because of it. I could hardly see anything, and I don't like Redeads, Bongo Bongo, or Wall/Floor Masters. The only cool part was the floating ship thing, where you got to fight two Stalfos.

Well, the best Temple would be the Forest Temple. It was so fun fighting the ghost sisters! Also, the forest theme was really cool in my opinion. The enemies were really fun to fight and they were easy to kill. That is why it was my favorite Temple.
The Temple I hated the most was the Shadow Temple. It was so scary, I could barely go through it. The redeads were one of the worst enemies not considering the other enemies that popped out of the ground. Also, it was a confusing maze and had lots of traps. So I absolutly HATED that Temple.
Those were my favorite and least favorite temples.

Hm, I liked the Spirit Temple also. I found it to be very, how to say, different from the rest of the game. It was interesting how you had to come back in different time periods to complete it.

Those are all the reasons why I liked that temple. I would always play it in the dark. It was much more fun that way.

My favourite is the spirit temple. I like the mirror shield and fighting Twinrova was fun.
My least favourite is of course the water temple. It was the first temple I needed a guide for because i couldn't find where I had to go.

My favorite would probably be the shadow temple because it is not like others. Some of the challenges may be difficult*Getting out of the place where you get the boots* but it is fun.
Worst has to be fire temple. I am not good at it at all. My sibling has to finish it for me.
Favourite: Probably the Spirit Temple. It had amazing music, it was fun, and had an amazing boss!
Least Favourite: Forest or Fire Temples. I dont' know what it is about them, but they really bother me, although I don't mind the Forest Temple as much as I used to.
1) Spirit
2) Shadow
3) Fire
4) Forest
5) Water
For me. I always like the Spirit temple.

My least favorite is the Fire Temple. The music just didn't do it for me, and I didn't really care for the "climbing" feel it had. I wasn't a huge fan of the Water Temple, either, but I liked it better than the Fire Temple.
My favorite is the Forest Temple. It was trippy!

Surprisingly i found the OoT temple quite different to TP temples. In Tp I hated the water temple and loved the Fire and Spirit (Well, Arbiter's Grounds) because they were fun and there was nothing that was really simple but annoying unlike the Goron Temple in OoT.
In OoT I found the Fire temple a pain in the *** because of needing to find all the Goron's and because of the invisible fire walls in that one room. I did not like the spirit temple in that either because it was more of a mini-game temple than an actual temple unlike the Arbiter's Ground.

Even though I found it insanely difficult, I did find it relaxing because it was the only temple that didn't have eerie music.

You didn't think the Water Temple had eerie music? I thought it had some of the eeriest... XD
But it was also a peaceful song at the same time... I liked it. ^_^

Best - Spirit Temple
Why? - Because you got to play it as Child and Adult Link. It had the best design, most fun boss fight, and awesome layout.
Worst - Water Temple
Why? - Because it was so easy to get lost, or at least backtrack so much you got tired of playing. It did have the best sub-boss of the game ;) but other than that, I didn't enjoy playing the temple much.

worst: Water Temple and Shadow Temple, music was annoying in both! (in my opinion at least).
Best: I would have to go with; Fire Temple, I liked the music and I thought it was just straightforward fun.

My favorite Temple in Ocarina of time is really hard to decide. I guess it is a toss up between the Forest Temple and the Shadow Temple. I adore the shadow Temple so much, I don't have to use the Lens of Truth so often because I have that place memorized. I like the Forest Temple for no fathomable reason though. I just like it.
The worst temple? I dislike the Water Temple (I ALWAYS miss a key) and the Dodongo's Cavern. Because of those stupid Keese.
Other than that, I really like all of the Temples that OoT has to offer.

i like the fire dungeon, mostly cause i like fire... the spirit temple was also interesting...
i hate the water temple though... and although not a temple, i hated jabu jabu's belly... i just aint that big a fan of disgusting parasites and disliked running around inside of a giant ugly fish...

My Best would have to be the Spirit Temple by a long shot!
Just the variety of game play (child and adult link) that was required just made that more engaging and encouraging to complete.
The worst would have to be the Water Temple by far.
As said by many of my friends and other fellow gamers, just the whole setup of the temple just didnt go to well, but i have to admit the boss wasnt that bad though........

I'd have to say the worst temple is Forest Temple. Why? Because I just hate it with its music and Wallmasters and its creepy. The best is...... Well I don't really Like any but the Spirit Temple is ok.

Spirit temple has to be the best. And Fire temple and Shadow temple are great to.
The worst for me would be water temple. I didnt have a guide so it took forever to find the 1 key I needed ><

i dont really like the shadow temple because of all the undead and spiders lurking around plus the fact that you have to turn into kid link and dry up the well and head in >:(
then i think my favorite temple is a tie between the fire and water...
i simply like playing wack a mole with volvagia and i also like dark link hes so darn easy though...

I have stated before that my favorite temple was the Forest temple. Now I feel different and would probably say the Water temple. Nice boss and mini boss etc. (Spirit temple is also excellent in many ways!)
Worst would be the Fire temple I guess (even though I like that too, are there really any bad ones in OoT?)

The Water Temple'sonly down side was thefact that morpha was a too easy boss...
Spirit Temple is one of the best, I agree, cause it has that mysterious feeling, cool bosses and mini boss, and an awesome theme... also, i wonder if you don't think that Shadow Temple is awesome as well

If you are refering to me. Then yes, the shadow temple is really good, probably one of the harder. The boss was one of the best in oot I think. The reason why I do not put it on the top is that it is a little bit to dark I guess.
I hated the Water temple. One time i ws halfway through and put a key in a wrong hole and i couldn't play anymore...

My best temple is the forest temple, I liked the battle with phantom ganon but i hated the water temple with the water rise and stuff.
My favourite is the Temple of TIme.....lol jk..I think my favorite temple would be the Spirit Temple and/or Shadow Temple. The one I hate the most is definitely the Forest Temple...such an annoying and repetitive music. T.T....but fighting phantom Ganon was awesome I must say

Here is my list, I'll update it when I finish the spirit temple.
"Quick, hide!"
--- Best ---
1) Spirit Temple:
I loved this temple, not too hard, not too easy, the mirror shield was a great fun, I also loved the Iron Knuckles, they were indeed awesome, but I never knew they could damage you when you were using your shield, so it made me use my darn Lon Lon Milk. >.<
Probably the best mini-boss, I liked the neato tricks with the Mirror Shield, and the Egyptian-like theme. I liked the temple more with Adult Link, and Nabooru (Iron Knuckle form) actually made me use my fairy when I was being careless. D:
Twinrova was sinch, I defeated her without taking damage on my first run-through, but I took a bit of time. Truly a great temple.
2) The Shadow Temple:
This temple was very scary for me (hey, I finished today and I'm only 11 :P), which also made it cool, I loved the traps, and more importantly the Lens of Truth and the Hover Boots, I didn't like having to pause the game and change boots, the ReDeads and the stupid Wall/floormasters, I got sent back to the start and I was very angry, so I used Farore's Wind just in case next time. Pretty cool and creepy, as was the boss, that was the second boss that was actually challenging for me in Ocarina of Time (so far), because it made me use one of my fairies. >.<
3) Dodongo's Cavern:
Eh, you didn't expect this to go here, did you? :D
This place was pretty cool, and it was not too hard, or too easy, can you believe the hardest thing for me was finding the bombs when they were on a ledge right next to me? :P
A pretty cool place, the only bad thing was the boss was far too easy, I beat it in like 30 seconds without taking damage at all.
4) Fire Temple:
A pretty cool place, got me stuck in a few places for a while.
I loved the megaton hammer and the boss, the fire dragon Volvagia in this temple, it was also pretty cool saving all those gorons.
Volvagia wasn't too tough, I owned him without using a fairy, pretty cool temple, I just didn't like the Like likes.
5) The Bottom of the Well:
One word: SCARY!
I was a litttle creeped out this morning, and hated all the stupid traps I fell down. >.<
The boss, the Dead Hand, was pretty cool, I was relieved I finally got the Lens of Truth, at the end, a pretty creepy, yet cool mini-dungeon.
6) Lord Jabu Jabu's Belly:
o.O
A pretty whacked out location, but whatever, as long as I get to use a Zora princess to kill enemies, the place was pretty hard, I almost died when I didn't have the boomerang, the mini boss was a bit challenging, probably harder than the actual boss, an alright dungeon.
7) Inside The Great Deku Tree:
Wow, the first dungeon, WAY too easy, but a good starting dungeon seeing as you only had 3 hearts, the slingshot was pretty sweet, but Gohma was too easy, I liked all the neat tricks in this place. :)
8) Water Temple:
Gah, I hated this place, yay, let's go change the water level, yay, let's go find keys, yay, let's own this far too easy boss, NO! I hated this place, the only good thing was the mini-boss, Dark Link, but I still pwned him with the Biggoron's Sword, I really hated this place. Morpha was too easy.
9) Ice Cavern:
The worst mini-dungeon, I disliked this place, the boss was too easy, the place was whack, it's a shame it was the Ice place, ugh, really bad.
Worst dungeon on my list so far.
--- Worst ---
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and Link's House. Damn, Link's House is hard!

FAVORITES
My favorite temple in oot is the fire temple. I really liked finding the Gorons and letting them free. My favorite tp temple would be snowpeak, all the way. I didn't think it was difficult, but that cutscene at the end really got me! All of those flying hearts ♥ !
LEAST FAVORITES
I do not like the Shadow Temple, which is the temple I am currently at in oot. It's really scary :c ! In tp, my least favorite would have to be the city in the sky. I really liked it but I didn't like it as much as the others.

I haven't played Ocarina of Time for a while, so I'm not completely sure. I suppose I'll say the Spirit Temple is my best. I remember enjoying that one much. I don't know if it's going there as both child and adult Link, or fighting Twinrova as the boss right after armored Naburoo as a mini-boss.
Worst dungeon, for me, is definitely a lot harder. When I like something (in this case, Ocarina of Time), I tend not to think negatively about parts of it. I'm not a very critical person. >.< I guess I might say Water Temple, but I hardly remember being annoyed at it as much as anyone else. Again, I haven't played this game for a while, so I don't really know.
Another thing I'll comment about here: it really annoys me when people refer to most of the dungeons as temples. It's okay if it has temple in the name, like the Forest Temple, but the word temple seems to have too much of a sacred connotation to connect it with a place like Jabu Jabu's Belly. >_<:hmm:

The best temple for me would have to be the shadow temple. the dark and evil feel to the temple was awesome. the forest temple would be just as good, because phantom ganon was one of the coolest bosses ever. the water temple was very hard, and thats definately my least favorite.

-----
1. The Temple of Time was the easiest b/c you didn't have to do anything, LOL!
2. The Forest Temple was amazing it was like a big puzzle, it had a great theme -Forest- and the boss wasn't that hard except for that picture thing!
3. The Sand Temple was also fun just like the 2nd temple its theme was -Desert- it wasn't to hard, but not to easy and you go to go in it as both young and older link. The mirror shield was awesome looking and the boss was fun to fight against.
Worst
------
4. The Fire Temple was a pain in the butt, you had to do all this weird stuff and it was very confusing to me. It was pretty interesting, but it was still a pain.
5. The Water Temple I loved how it was based all on one thing water even the boss was kinda made of water. It was a pain with the water level system and the keys were really hard to find, but it was a little fun.
6. The Shadow Temple was just too scary with all the ominous music, the hidden rooms, trap doors, and it was all a pain in the butt and I hate the mummies in it. Though the boss was a fun boss to fight b/c of the drum and arrow shooting, but it's a little creepy when he comes flying at you with him body and even his hands!

I would say that the temple I liked the most, or I would call the best was the Spirit Temple. I had no problems with it in terms of figuring things out, and I just liked the over all setup of it. Not to mention I found the music of it entertaining to a certain degree.
For my worst, I would go with the Shadow Temple. The Shadow Temple was the exact opposite of the Spirit Temple, in that it was fairly difficult, not to mention you had Wallmasters everywhere, a chance to fall off the ground your walking on at every turn, etc.

My favorite temple has to be eh, the Spirit Temple.
This temple has awesome music.
I also am a fan of the traveling through time during this temple.
I thought that was a cool feature they added.
Call meh crazy, but i actually like the Water Temple.
Honestly, the changing the water level thing has never been
that hard in the past. The music is a plus.
In fact, all of the temples have great music, namely Spirit.

The best temple in oot was the fire temple I think. I just really enjoyed finding a goron's cell and letting him run free!!! The worst ( or I should say my least favorite) was the SHADOW TEMPLE. *Yikes* I hate that temple. I started to get really obsessed with oot when I got to the Forest temple and played it 24/7. Then I got to the shadow temple a few days later and got so freaked out, now I have stopped playing for a while. I have to get up some courage first, it's scary :x

My favorite temple probbly is Jabu-Jabu's Belly and the forest temple. I like Jabu-Jabu's because it's just because your actual in a fishes belly. And it's cool when you hit the side of the belly and the whole thing just jiggles! And the scenery in the forest temple kind of relaxes me in a way.

I have to say Water temple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As my least favorite obviously! aT FIRST i WALKED IN thinking it was going to be simple. I got the first keys and lowered the water level. In a couple minutes a guide was opened on my computer. I kept dying against Dark lINK cause I had Master sword. At least I killed him easily with Biggoron's sword on 2nd file. >:(
My favorite would have to be Spirit Temple because it has the funnest boss, You play as child and adult, and it has great puzzles!

My favorite would also have to be the Spirit temple. I loved going through each of the dungeons while listening to the background music (its so creepy yet it fits perfectly with the temples theme >> ). Also, taking on those armor knights were awesome even though I got killed a couple of times.>:(>:(
Least favorite?? Oh, definetly the forest temple. The first time I played it I immediately gave up because I couldn't figure out which room I need to go to and which key I was missing. The main boss was okay...even though it took me a while to figure out how to defeat him.>.<

My favorite temples in the game would be the Spirit, Shadow, and Water, in that order. I know that most people dislike the Water Temple because of its long, drawn out, and often confusing path of completion, but those are the things which make it fun to play in my opinion. Plus, it has Dark Link as a mini-boss, and though I would have preferred him to be a main boss in say, the Shadow Temple, with a bit higher difficulty, at least he was in there somewhere. The Spirit Temple stands out above all the rest simply because of its playability. It has a very nicely lain out map, the most fun last boss of the game, and you get to play it as both Child and Adult Link.

In Ocarina of Time, the Fire Temple is by far the worst. I hate going there, it's not fun, and it's not hard. It's just a boring level. I always wished I could just skip it.
The love the rest of the dungeons. The Forest and Shadow temples both effectively make you feel terrified. The Water and Spirit temples both make you sit in awe of just what you're inside.
People tend to hate the Water Temple because they got stuck and it was hard. I used to think that way, but now it's become my favorite in that game. Aside from still being a challenge all these years later, I can't help but gasp at just what the Water Temple is. Just look at it, and imagine if something like that really existed. It's absolutely beautiful. If I ever ruled a nation, that would be my capital. :P

I think that the Best are The Spirit Temple, The Fire Temple and then the Water Temple and the Worst are The Shadow Temple and the Forest Temple, In that Order
For me the worst is the Forest Temple...that music drives me nuts...I think that would be my only complaint about ithe whole game lol. My favourite temple I guess it's the Spirit Temple....since you get to play it as both young and adult Link.

----Thw worst temple would have to be the Water Temple. It was so big that it took forever to find a key. The boss was also boring.

My favorite would either be the shadow or fire temple. The things you do in the shadow temple are like no other temple. The fire temple was just plain awesome. I HATED the water temple so much!!!

I really only hated the water temple because of the confusion of the raising and lowering of the water. I think they should have made the levels a bit more distinct, so you knew which level you were on. I dind't find the map too helpful in the main flooding chamber. Otherwise, the outskirt rooms were fine!
For me, I think my favourite temple, oddly enoug, is the Great Deku Tree. This was the first 3-D Zelda dungeon that I ever had to battle through, and it was wild to see what they were able to do in the third dimension. I know other temples had other great moments in them, but the thing I will remember most was having to jump from very high up in order to break the spider-web to get to the lower levels. Even doing it form one level up wasn't enough to break it, you had to really get some altitude! Once I figured out what I had to do, it clicked as to the potential that games in 3-D had, and it amazed me.
This might seem odd to newer players who grew up with 3-D gaming, (suddenly, I sound so old...) but when you grow up with 8- and 16-bit, then something like this comes along, it's pretty impressive, and memorable. That's why the first temple in OoT will always be my favourite.

The best is the Shadow Temple. The Shadow temple gave a sense of fright that a long evil has lived here. No true light reaches the dark depths of this place. You must traverse the dark corridors to fight hell itself and escape. The beast that lays within is a creature with awesome power that could kill you. Despite these dificulties, you must press on to save Impa from the fel beast.
The worst would have to be the Water Temple. Tis but a simple temple that does not have many remarkable qualities aside from lots and lots of water.

Wow, that's an excellent way to describe it.
I felt that exactly. The sense of fear and loneliness was completely real, and the atmosphere was one of pure evil. It scared that mess out of me when I first played it at age 8, and It's still pretty freaky when I play through it today. Truly one of the most memorable dungeons in all of Zelda.

^ Yeah, I enjoyed a lot the music there, and the overall shape, it made me feel like a explorer, I remember the part of the fixed camera where the sky falls on you and you have to move as in a chess table to the right place so you are not squished. I enjoyed too the ghost haunting and phantom Ganon. Not much room to run, hahah. Yeah, the forest temple was pretty cool.
I have come to the conclusion I have something memorable of each temple in me. Not really a top one that put the rest out. For years, I've been switching favourites first the Forest, then The Spirit, then the Fire, then the Water, and finally the Shadow.
I just like the creepy feeling it gets inside of me, you think horrible things happened here, like a torture chamber, with blood and skulls lying around. The music adds a lot to that effect. The boat floating on mist was also cool!
The worst one, would not be by much, in fact my first answer is that I cannot think in one. But oh well, currently my least favourite would be the Spirit Temple, but I would not say it was the worst. The idea of having areas you can only reach as a kid and areas you can only reach as an adult was pretty neat. Twinrova was pretty memorable too.

In my opinion, the hardest was the water temple and the easiest was the Spirit Temple. I'll say a few things about each one...
Water Temple
Bad Points: The overall layout of the temple is bizarre, and it's pretty easy to get lost and forget where you are. Having to go up and down in order to change the water level can get tedious and annoying after several times through, especially when it's your first time playing that temple. There also isn't that much guidance throughout the temple, all you get is a "follow me!" from Ruto and you never see her again.
Good points: The music in this temple is great, it gives off a mysterious vibe, fits the temple very well. And although the layout is annoying, once you finish the temple you get a feeling of satisfaction. Plus, fighting Dark Link is a treat.
Spirit Temple
Bad Points: Getting there is the hard part. As Child Link, you have to go through the desert and follow that Poe. If you are even just a little bit off you can completely loose your way, resulting in having to go back to where you started. Also, some of the puzzles are hard to understand, some of the places you are supposed to move blocks to get up to higher ledges, but it's not that easy considering there are tons of enemies around.
Good Points: Once again, the music is amazing. I think it's the best temple music in the whole game, always has been my favorite. It's not like the other ones where it just stays in the background, you can hear it loud and clear. It makes the whole temple seem big an powerful, truly an ancient artifact. I love the combination of Child and Adult Link, it really makes you feel like the Hero of Time, being able to travel back in time and actually have purpose in doing so.
Yays! Long post. :3

My best temple in OoT would be the Spirit Temple because i loved the boss and getting the mirror shield. The worst temple for me would have to be like many people the WATER TEMPLE took me i could NOT beat it which got me stuck on my first file.2 months later i had to make a NEW file and use a youtube walkthrough to do the water temple. :(

1 being favorite, 5 being least favorite...
1. The Spirit Temple - I liked this one's puzzles and I loved the boss. Twinrova was fun to fight! I also liked getting the mirror shield. Plus, I like the whole being in the desert thing. When I was little I would rent the Zelda game from the video store if I wanted to play it, and none of the files were ever to the Spirit Temple... so when I bought the game and played through, the desert was a new place to me.
2. The Fire Temple - I like this temple just because I like the Bolero of Fire, hehe! It's my favorite melody you get the play on the ocarina. I also liked that you got to rescue the Gorons... that was pretty cool.
3. Forest Temple - This temple was fun because it was the first one you had to do. I didn't necessarily think it was the easiest temple though... It seemed like I always was getting myself lost. But I liked that it provided a challenge that wasn't too hard.
3. Shadow Temple - (Tied with 3rd) This temple was okay... I kind of don't like the whole using the eye of truth thing... that was kind of annoying. And I hated the Beneath the Well mini-dungeon... What I did like about the shadow temple, though, was that it was dark and eerie and, well, creepy. ...And yes, that is a positive thing.
5. Water Temple - A lot of people put this as their least favorite temple... but I won't bash it that much. I hate any under-water level of any game. But for this game, the switching of boots was the most annoying. And I always forgot to get a key and had to change the water levels... bah. The thing I did like was the ice dungeon mini-dungeon beforehand... if that counts.

For me the best temple is the water temple O.o why? because it really tests your wits in finding items and i like that. Now that i think about it, i guess the makers of this temple want to test the players wits, in finding treasure or wits in exploring every nook and cranny of the room. The only i hate here is the switching of water levels other than that it's cool.
The only temple i really hate is the shadow temple, man that thing creeps me out especially with the illusions, mini-boss and of course bong bongo. i had nightmares D: because of this thing but it didn't stop me from proceeding.

1. Shadow Temple - I loved the whole scary atmosphere of the temple, with all the ReDeads, Wallmasters, Floormasters, and spiked walls and floors. I also loved the dungeon boss, Bongo Bongo. He was a very fun fight. Traveling through the temple was an awesome experience, and I was on the edge of my couch the whole time, anticipating danger at every turn. That's what I like from a dungeon. It might even be my favorite dungeon out of all Zelda games.
2.Spirit Temple - One of the main reasons I liked the Spirit Temple was because it seemed as if it was two seperate Temples, because you had to go through as a child and as an adult. The puzzles were very unique, and I liked how you had to go outside to get the Mirror Shield. This temple had what was probably the best boss and miniboss in the whole game. The Iron Knuckle fight was beyond epic, I loved it very much. And the Twinrova fight was also great, as it was a very fun, epic fight, while also being humorous, like when Koume and Kotake die, and are in shock that they both had halos on their heads, haha.
3.Water Temple - This temple gets a lot of criticism for being long, boring, difficult, and many other things. I myself found it very entertaining. I liked the challenge. The puzzles were very unique, with different levels of water raising and such. One of the main highlights of this dungeon was Dark Link. Dark Link was quite an epic fight, it was almost like you were fighting yourself. You had to use strategy in that battle, which is unlike most other minibosses and bosses. The boss, Morpha, wasn't as fun as I would've liked. It was a pretty basic fight and not very entertaining. But other than that, this temple was awesome.
4. (tie) Forest Temple - This temple, like most in this game, is very unique, but this one really stands out. You can go through many different terrains and can also alter the structure of the dungeon. Also, how about the music in this dungeon? I loved it, the whole eerie feeling to it. Although in this dungeon I didn't really like the miniboss(es) or boss. The Stalfos were okay, they're always fun, but the Poe Sisters, not so much. They were no fun and were just kind of annoying. Phantom Gannon is more of the same. He was a frustrating boss at first and is pretty boring, although I do admit I like how the battle set up, a room with 6 (I think it was 6, maybe it was 5) photos and the boss jumping in and out of them.
4. (tie) Fire Temple - I find this temple to be kind of the opposite of the Forest Temple in the sense of how good the dungeon puzzles were and the mini boss and boss were. I did not like the puzzles in this dungeon, I will have to admit. They were pretty boring and a lot of them were a nuisance. Some were better than others, but some were just kind of... Ugh. But The miniboss, Flare Dancer, is awesome. It was unique in how there was the furnace in the middle of the room and the Flare Dancer jumped in and out of it, trying to hurt you. Volvagia was also really fun. This is mainly because to me, using the Megaton Hammer is fun in general. It's kind of like those games at an arcade, Wack-a-Mole, or whatever they are called, where you have to use the hammer to wack the moles that pop out of the holes as fast as you can. I love how they implemented that into a Boss fight in a Zelda Game.
Don't let it deceive you that I put the Forest and Fire Temple at the bottom. I loved playing through all of these Temples. OoT had great dungeons, unlike many other Zelda Games.

Best temple for me would have been the Water Temple. I don't really see why it is so criticized, it's hard, yeah but it's still very doable with a bit of patience. The Iron boots changing was dull, but overall I loved the Water Temple. The music, the atmosphere, everything! Also the Dark Link battle is awesome.
Worst Temple for me is probably Forest temple, first time I went through it I disliked it, and it doesn't get better. Didn't really like the ghosts stealing the fire idea, and when Nintendo reused it in Arbiters grounds in TP, I was dissapointed. The enemies were boring and never really enjoyed the music too much. And the lack of a 'real' mini boss was a set-back.
Also, hate, Hate, Lord Jabu-Jabu's Belly. Ruto's such a B@%#! "You get the honour of Carriying me" I mean.. Wow.. And the colours hurt my eyes xD The music was good though, suited the location of where you were.. a whales belly.
My point is, Jabu-Jabu is worse than any temple.

I thought the enemies in the Forest Temple were pretty cool personally. You've got stalfos, green and blue skull bubbles (I think that's the name), and wallmasters, which are all pretty neat to me. The music was a love-it-or-hate I think. It was really creepy, which can be a plus or a minus depending on opinion. Concerning Jabu Jabu's Belly, I think you're right about the colors. They were all super bright, but I was amazed by how much it actually felt like you were in a whale, which was enough to make that dungeon quite memorable in my book.

I think the best temple would have been the Spirit Temple. Not only was it intricately designed, but everything from its build to the puzzles was unique from the rest of the temples. It was interesting, too, that it had a lot to do with possible Gerudo religion. On top of that, it was Nabooru's headquarters, and you have to wonder just exactly how a young Gerudo managed to climb her way to the position of Second in Command and be awarded such a large place of work.
You can't forget that, unlike other temples, the Spirit Temple required some backtracking, and that was definitely refreshing in OoT. Sure backtracking was necessary here and there throughout OoT, but not so much in the temples. In the Spirit Temple, it was required. Another thing it offered was a bit of inner-temple free roaming. In the Spirit Temple, you could go to Room B before Room A if you so wished it. The puzzles weren't that hard, but they were pretty interesting, and they way they interacted with the design of the temple didn't make them feel out of place. Adjusting the mirrors to lower a platform was very interesting, as well was using strong, hot light to break down an clay face of an ancient idol.
The worst temple, in my opinion, was probably the Shadow Temple. It was creepy when I was younger (still is, really), but it didn't offer a lot of variety or difficulty. It was pretty much straight-forward, checkpoint A to checkpoint B adventuring. I did think that the ferry was interesting, but that was pretty much it. The boss was an interesting idea, but kind of awkward and didn't put up much of a challenge. I think its counterpart, the Well, was much more interesting.

yeah i think the spirit temple was the only one that really used the bombchu too... member when you had to use it to go through that one hole in the chain wall to hit a swith on the other side.... (i gotta play through it again) i would have like to have seen more puzzles with the bombchu

Yeah... Lord Jabu Jabu was my least favorite part of the whole game. I just... didn't like it. Ruto is also one of my least favorite characters. The falling through the holes in that one main room bugged me, cause I could never remember which hole I previously fell through and whatnot... and I hated all them jellyfish and those bubble things... *shudder*

I have had a change of mind since I last posted on here a while ago.
I now prefer The Water Temple as the best temple in OoT, I found it challenging and still do, I have only done it twice and I find that it is still hard to find my way around as there is a lot of back tracking, Also it has one of the hardest bosses in the game for me, Morpha was a challenge without hookshoting it into a corner and Darklink was always a fun fight.
My next temple is the Forest Temple, It was just under the hardness of the Water Temple with all the backtracking and twisting corridors, Although it did not have the hardest of bosses being quite easy but he was still challenging. The Poe sisters fights were fun as well.
There is a tie for the next position between the Fire Temple and Shadow Temple:
The Fire Temple was not too challenging but I liked the feel of the temple, Also I found it fun finding the Goron prisoners before they were fed to Volvagia, Another reason that I liked this temple since I thought Volvagia was the funnest Boss fight with all the different things he did and just how he looked when he popped his head up out of that hole.
The Shadow Temple was a dark temple with blood scattered on the walls, I thought was a great temple over all as well with all the tasks you had to accomplish as well, I thought the boss fight was one of the hardest to figure out if you did not know what to do to get a hit on him. This is another temple that I liked the feel of.
The next temple is the Spirit Temple as an adult, I don't like this for any reason other than the boss fight with Twinrova which is pretty good. Other than that it reaches here for the plain reason I don't like the Spirit as Young Link and with that you get my next Temple, The Spirit Temple as Young Link, To be honest, There is nothing I like about this Temple anymore, Too easy, Not much of a challenge and I generally find it boring.

My favorite temple (and overall dungeon in the entirety of the series) is the Spirit Temple. It has a great theme, it feels very mysterious as you proceed, the mini-bosses are great and the enemies too, it has some pretty decent puzzles with the suns on the walls and etc, the Mirror Shield is a pretty unique item, and last but not least Twinrova.
Least favorite is the Shadow Temple. It did feel scary when I was a kid, but when the scary part is taken away there's not really much left. The only actual exciting parts of the temple were the Stalfosses on the boat and Bongo-Bongo.
I didn't put Water Temple because of Dark Link and Morpha. Those were pretty decent battles :P

I'll say the Water Temple as one of the best. Why? Dark Link.
Aside from that, Either Spirit or Forest Temple.
As for the worst...Ice Cavern. Only because it should have been much MUCH longer and was actually a "real" temple before they decided to cut it.

My favorite Dungeon in OoT would be either the Spirit Temple because of it's complexity and incorporation of a time paradox, or the Forest Temple because it was just plain fun.
The Spirit Temple was amazing and beautiful. If memory serves right, I think it was the last temple before the final dungeon. I was so...mezmerized for some reason when I had to go back as Child Link and do half of the dungeon. It was at that time that I realized what "time" really was, what the current flow of time was, and what a paradox was. Mind you, I was like only 10 or so at the time :P The puzzles were not too difficult, the music was nice, and it was an overall great dungeon.
The forest temple was just plain fun. Simple puzzles, fun bosses, good music, and the first real use of the Master Sword :)

My favorite was the shadow temple. It's just so cool. I love the overall feel to it, the deathtraps, the invisable wall maze, the boat, everything!
On the other hand... I HATE HATE HATE the water temple. It would have been SO much better if the iron boots would have been an item. But, instead, you need to pause every 2 seconds. Also, it was just too confusing.

Personaly, my favoirte was the Water Temple. I love the fight with Dark Link. Most people say that the Water Temple was to hard and frustrating, but I thought it was really creative. The only thing I didn't like was having to pause every ten seconds to take off the iron boots. I love how they made them a real item in Twilight Princess.

My favorite temple is the Shadow Temple, but it's hard to decide, as I liked all of the Ocarina of Time dungeons.. It was mysterious, not very hard with the lens of truth, and the creepy, dark feel made it seem fairly ominous, it also made it seem pretty cool!
Least favorite? Probably the fire temple, but I still liked it. I suppose it just felt.. basic and.. small? I also remember getting stuck in here, feeling like it would last forever, and getting bored. Turns out I missed a switch (or something like that). But I liked the boss! Volvagia is pretty cool, not a bad fight either.
However, counting ALL dungeons, I'd say my favorite would be the inside deku tree or Jabu-Jabu's belly. Perhaps followed by the ice cavern, and my least favorite may be dodongo's cavern.

I can't believe that so many people hate the water temple. From what I have gathered, people dislike the water temple because it is confusing, big, long, "can't find that last key", and "have to press start to put iron boots on and off." The thing that makes the water temple so great is the challenge. It is refreshing to know that after waltzing mindlessly through the fire temple, you have a challenging temple ahead. I am not saying that i dislike the fire temple, i think it is quite fun, but it is way too easy, and way too straightforward.
I like all 5 temples, all have their ups and downs. Shadow temple for me is a bit short. Spirit temple is probably the most fun. As far as the BEST temple, the water temple. What makes the water temple good is that it is so challenging and long. A proper zelda temple should be difficult.

I'm with Sheik on this one--the Water Temple is something you can seriously dig into. :)
That, plus there aren't any frustrating moments in it. For instance, in the Fire Temple, in the room where you get the hammer, you can fall down a pit which takes you back several rooms. That kind of stuff annoys me, and there's none of it in the Water Temple.
I think the Water Temple is my favorite.
Least favorite? Either the Deku Tree or the Shadow Temple. The Shadow Temple had plenty of frustrating moments for me, but it still had plenty of fun moments. The Deku Tree, though, had almost nothing to it. It's a good introductory dungeon, but that's all it is.

Ugh, I remember that. Is it just me, or did the Forest Temple have more Stalfos than any other dungeon in OoT? Not only do you have the two guarding the key near the main room, but you have all of those guarding the Fairy Bow as well. With their amount of hearts I had at that part in the game (Which would be 6, no extra heart pieces :P), I found it to be one of the more difficult parts of the game.

I have no idea why, but I just love the Spirit Temple I guess it's hard enough where I have to try to figure out what to do, most dungeon's I know because either it's obvious, or I remember from previous play throughs.
The Water Temple has to be the worst. It's so hard that it's unbearable to beat. Normally, hard is good for my tastes, but if it's hard enough where I have to spend days looking through the entire dungeon to figure out what to do, then that's just too hard.
P.S. In my current playthrough, I'm stuck in the Water Temple, so that may have influenced my post.

Favorites- Water Temple. Spirit Temple. Forest Temple, Shadow Temple
Worst- Fire Temple
I always seem to find the fire theme dungeons boring. Dragon Roost Cavern and the Goron Mines were both kinda boring too. The only fire themed dungeon i liked was Dodongo's Cavern.
I've always disliked the Water Temple, the whole Dungeon is just a freakin' puzzle, Lol. I haven't played OOT for a few years, but with the rising of the water levels and stuff, it made it very confusing; from what I recall there were a few keys that were tough to find; you could be stuck on the temple for a week trying to find a single key; confusing dungeon at least for me.
I didn't really have a favorite temple; if I had to choose maybe the one where you had to turn into a kid for part of it (Pretty sure it's the Spirit.)

Water Temple (1):
An outstanding temple, I understand everyone in here hates backtracks and puzzles, but i love them. I loved EVERYTHING, yep, even the vortex thing... XP. It includes, in my opinion, the best mini-boss. Overall, a SUPER ULTRA MEGA GREAT temple, I never get tired of it.
Forest Temple (3, tied with the Spirit Temple):
A nice dungeon. i don't understand why everyone says it has eerie music... I like it's music. It's a great temple to start with, and who doesn't love the bow? I love fighting with Phantom Ganon, even if, in my opinion, is the hardest boss in the whole game.
Spirt Temple (3, tied with the Forest Temple):
A nice dungeon, with nice music. Not to puzzling (except for the statues and button thing). I liked the idea that you need to go through the temple as a kid and an adult,
I mean, who don't like it? I also like when Kotamek and kouke lstart fighting about their age... They're cool to fight, and so the Iron Knuckle.
Fire Temple (4):
A pretty straightforward, yet fun temple. sometimes, it tricked me (when I played through it for the first time)... It's so fun to free the gorons... The temple feels like a tower, which I hate, though... Overall, a nice temple, but not to much...
Shadow Temple (5):
Creepy, but not as creepy as Beneath The Well. Pretty straightforward, and a piece of cake (the only hard thing is going all the way to the boss door if you lost the battle with Bongo Bongo). Some cool music, but it makes a creepy atmosphere... it also makes you feel you're lonely, very lonely, in a place habitated with ghosts, or with something that will pop out of no where...
Dodongo's Cavern (6):
Cool dungeon. It's the first place where you can see a bunch of annoying enemies. Its sound always creep me... It includes a super cool weapon (the bombs) and an extremely easy, yet fun boss. It also includes a very easy yet fun mini-boss (the Stalfos).
Inside the Deku Tree (7):
Inside the Deku tree is a great dungeon to start with. Easy, but includes one of our first weapons, the Fairy Slinghshot (also one of the coolest ones). I love the music... It also has a great mini-boss to start with: the three deku things.
Beneath The Well (8):
In my opinion, the creepiest place of OOT, yep, creepiest than the Shadow Temple. I'ts cool, but short... and doesn't beat the other dungeons.
Ganon's Castle (9):
Not so bad for a mini-dungeon. It has many rooms to be a mini-dungeon, it also has a chest... to bad you don't use the Golden Gloves when you fight Ganondorf, or Ganon :(
Ice Cavern (10):
Is it necessary to tell why? It's kinda boring, though the ice flames thing is cool, and so the ice monsters, even if they're so annoying. The blue squares thing is my favorite thing in the whole mini-dungeon, it's soo cool. Ice Cavern is to close to beating Ganon's Castle...
Inside Jabu Jabu's belly (11):
The worst dungeon in the game for me... First off, the sound of the heart beating creeps me, so I always play through Jabu Jabu's Belly without the music. Second off, this dungeon kinda spams monsters, also you need to carry the mega annopying princess: Ruto. I can easily beat this dungeon in 15-20 minutes, as it's a piece pof cake after you get the boomerang (except for the mini-boss). Barinade is cool to fight with, but i wish it could be in another dungeon.
EDIT: added why they're in that order.
EDIT 2: added all of the dungeons (including mini-dungeons... yep, it incluses Ganon castle!) and make the "why the dungeon is in that place" description longer... it seems I like to make long posts! XD. Also I deleted what I wrote before...
Best Temple?
Water Temple or Spirit Temple, definitely.
Forest Temple or Shadow Temple are the worst.
The Skulltas in the Forest Temple drove me out of my mind, and the Shadow Temple nearly made me piss my pants.
First person ive seen enjoy the water temple :O
are you talking about the skutallas hanging from the ceiling or the skutallas hanging on the vines, I think the one on the vines can be annoying from time to time, always have to clear them before you climb up; and if you miss one and get too close you're screwed lol.

The best is the Spirit Temple and the worst was Dodongo's Cavern I just thought that this temple was too boring but that the others are alot more exciting.

Fire Temple:
An outstanding temple! I loved running around in there, and finding all the Goron's really made the temple take some work, and some time, but my favorite temple!!!
Water Temple:
I really hated the water temple, having to go upstairs, change the water, then run down stairs change it again, and repeat, the temple was to much of the same, and it got boring, and tiring very fast!
Favorite - Water Temple - I loved it, but there was one annoyance... *Presses start to put on Iron Boots.* :(
Least Favorite - Forest Temple - Was boring in my opinion.

I didn't enjoy the forest temple much... Nothing exciting...
The fire temple was 'aight, wasn't too shabby, but something was missing...
The water temple! Oh how I detest that! I could never get past that alone, I needed a walkthrough... And I think I had to restart my game because I used a key at the wrong door and screwed the whole temple up and I couldn't reverse it!
The shadow temple was scary, but I had fun. The boss was actually the easiest boss out of the Adult temples. I killed him in 10 seconds! :O
And the spirit temple, who doesn't like the spirit temple? So much stuff you can do in there and I loved battling the Iron Knuckles!
So best: Spirit Temple
And worst: Water Temple

I used to save the Fire Temple for as long as possible as it was my favorite out of the first three. I liked finishing the Water Temple first cause I just wanted to fill up lake Hylia as fast as possible, plus get the fire arrows, lol. I would've liked the Forest Temple more if it wasn't for that hand that I had to watch out for, it was creepy. I loved everything about the Forest Temple aside from the grabbing hand, lol. The water temple was nice and challenging, but I agree the Iron Boots were a major annoyance. Shadow Temple wasn't my favorite, but I loved the Spirit Temple.
As for the kid-temples, my least favorite was Jabu-Jabu, I just didn't like that one very much.

Best: Spirit
Worst: Shadow. IT SCARES THE PEE OUT OF ME! And it's so hard to navigate if you don't know what you're doing! I usually forget about it when I play through oot for the umpteenth time.

I'm new to Zelda games. I'm 11 and I've only been playing them for about 2 years. I've played Ocarina and it's my second favorite. As for the best temples.... 5. Shadow - Pretty cool, but it felt so dull.
4. Water - Pain in the butt, I'm pretty used to it and I love it.
3. Fire - Love the main concept, saving Gorons and the game of Whack A Dragon.
2. Spirit- The final dungeon, the puzzles were great along with the child/adult thing.
1. Forest- Amazing music, new enemies, great challenges, and the boss was sweet.
