How long did it take for you to beat OOT? It took me about five years. It was so hard it had to take five years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!XD

It took me 6 months. I'm impressed I got the score of 000. My first Zelda game, so, it was hard as crap!

Kybyrian
11-24-2008, 06:28 PM
It took me 8 or 9 months, I played it on and off, so I didn't just play it straight for 9 months to try and beat it. It was my first Zelda game - nay, my first video game, I ever played, so naturally it was very hard. No, I didn't play video games until I was about 8 or so years old.

Counting for long I didn't play it, bout 2 years. I played up until about leaving Kokiri, stopped, and then Started it again.

Well OOT was the first zelda game i played and i was new to the series back then.
i was also very young back then.
Sometimes i was stuck and took a break for a while and then later pick it up.

i would say it took me 2½ years to beat it.

You have good gaming skill pal. You should come over to my house and help me re-beat OOT, Josh!

I'm not sure. I played up until the Kakariko Well in about 3 months, and then stopped playing for about 2½ until I picked it back up and started over again. After I picked it back up, it took me 2 months probably.

I beated the game when I was 6, but it doesn't count, because everytime my brother saw me playing it, he sat down to "Help" me :P

but when I was 9, then I beated it in ca 1 year

Let's see. It probably took me around 6 months or so. One time at my friends, (we kind of trade the Nintendo 64 back-and-forth) he and I beat Dodongo's cavern and Jabu Jabu's belly in one night, because we were so excited at getting to be Old Link. After that, I played quite a bit and got to the Shadow temple (which was the last one, the way I did it) and I got stuck there and didn't play it for a month or two. Then I decided to go back and finish it once and for all. So yeah, probably around 6 months.

Oh, I wish I could remember. It was probably around a year for me give or take a couple of months.

Once I figured out how to beat the third dungeon (Jabu), it took me about a month to beat the game. But yeah, it took me like half a year to figure the third dungeon out. >_>

It took me about 1 year to beat the game. The hardest part was the Water Temple which took about 2 months.

a little more than 4 days(i only played weekends, but i snuck some time in during the week), but it was frusterating became the disc i was using(a cheap collectors edition) would freeze up during a really random point. besides the crappy disc jabu's belly confused me, as did the water temple.

...I rented it when I was 9 and didn't do any of the storyline. I was too overwhelmed by the sheer size. I bought Master Quest for GC and beat it in 3 days with no sleep. ^_^

Took me about 1 month.

I was completely addicted to it when I first got it, and I barely stopped playing for quite a while.

I've beaten the game at least 50 times (understatement)

The last time I beat it was just a few days ago actually, I was using an emulator (didn't cheat once) and took me about 3-4 days (had to get used to the emulator controls, it was my first time playing N64 emu)

It wasn't that hard, I knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Never looked at a guide, never asked for help.

I did, however, search for video guides on how to glitch; I didn't use those on my main character, I made a second one.

At first, it took me a couple of months, mostly because I was young and got frustrated quickly, and would stop playing the game for a week or so. Now I've got it down to a few days.

If I remember right it took me almost 2 months to beat it. I didnt get everything either. But there was nothing more amusing then finally finishing such a great game ^^

I died a few times in Shadow Temple and out in the fields when I was young Link. Fire Temple was tricky to.

I died more in A link to the past though ^^

lol ive done it before...
in 45 minutes i got to the fire temple and then ganon in 55 minutes from the start of the game...
then the battle took 10 seconds and the cut scenes about 4 minutes... then the final battle... down goes gannon in 2 minutes then the long cut scene that lasts 5 minutes...

You did not legitimately beat the game in an hour. You may have glitched, or used a gameshark or similar device, but you did not complete every temple and defeat Ganondorf in one hour.

absolutely zero cheats used... i've just played it long enough to get through it fast... basically speed running...
and i have no clue what that one cheat where u press r and u like move super fast is i've looked but i can't find it...
no glitching either...
i can beat the game really fast without cheats...

Actually, Ocarina of Time took me a while to beat. Not because it was challenging, but because I was 8 years old and in Jabu-Jabu's belly after you fight the giant Octorok thing I didn't jump to the platform that lowered itself so you could access the other door. So yeah, I tried to find a hundred different ways through that place afterwards.

OoT wasnt hard for me. Well... not really hard anyway. But it was just big. I was so caught up in the game it was just amazeing ^^

I honestly don't even remember. I think it probably took me around 30 hours, maybe? It's been a while, and I didn't play it straight -- took me a couple of months on and off. It wasn't too terribly hard though outside of the obvious Water Temple nonsense.

How long it took me to beat it first time through? Oh, a few months. And it was fairly hard. Not super hard, but hard (if you want super hard, play Viewtiful Joe. :xd:)

But keep in mind, I wasn't a very good gamer back then.

I was 8 my first time around, I believe. I'd say it took me about 2 months. I got stuck in the Shadow Temple for quite a while, and I couldn't beat Ganon. That took me at least 20 tries.

It took me maybe 5 or 6 days, without a guide. I remember getting up to the end of Jabu Jabu's Belly the first day I started playing it, and I was about 9 at the time. The Water Temple gave me a bit of trouble and some of the shadow temple puzzles were a bit difficult, but the rest of the game wasn't really that hard to me. I don't think I ever completed my original file 100%, I re-played it a few years ago and got 100% in 3 or 4 days.

I took me a while, I have never really completed OoT save my self, The First File I completed I started from The Shadow Temple as My Brother did the rest. The Second file I made but not have completed I beat the Water Temple and went to Kakariko town but have not gone down the well. I think that the game is hard as well, A lot harder than TP

01-28-2012, 04:14 PM
The first time I played Ocarina it took about a week and a half. I just replayed it on Master Quest and it took about three days (meaning I turned it on three times over the course of three different days). I only died three times in Master Quest. The embarrassing part is that all of those occurred inside the Great Deku Tree.

I think that the game is hard as well, A lot harder than TP

Napping is a lot harder than TP. But no, yeah, Ocarina is pretty hard.

I think it took me a month, but I could easily be wrong- it's at least a month though. I was 8, and I thought it was moderately difficult. I hadn't played a lot of video games by that time, but for instance I thought it was harder than Super Mario Bros. 3 but a ton easier than Link's Awakening. My second playthrough took a week, and nowadays I can beat it in under six hours. It's easier than brushing my teeth now.

this game took me 5 or 6 years to complete(my 1st zelda game), with a few months gaps where i was either: not playing because I just didn't feel like it. That really didn't happen many times. Or: I was stuck on a puzzle for months at a time. I started the game when i was 4 or 5 ish, and finished when I was 10. So it took me a long time. But I loved every moment of it.

It took me about a year, but if I actually owned it, that might have helped. I had to arrange a visit(usually once a month) in order to play it. When I DID play it, I played it for at least 3 hours at a time.
