The water temples in OOT and MM are the hardest Zelda temples(well for me anyway).

The Great Bay Temple in MM for me. I can find my way through it a little easier now, but it took me a VERY long time to beat it on my first play through the game.

The Dodongo's Cavern was the hardest temple I have ever had to beat. The point of all the Dodongos was enough to discourage me. The beamos sucked too.

I know it may sound unprofessional of me, but it really is a hard temple. In the temple there are alot of Beamos. Beamos are my most hated enemy in the Legend of Zelda series. In addition to this, there are alot of difficult jumps and mazes.
I have always hated Ocarina of Time for the Temples it possesed. These were the hardest Temples and Bosses in any game I have ever played. You can reply telling me why you think this is an easy Temple.

aol, last palace
just even getting to that place takes all of your skill and after that you have to get though it. I am not saying that it is the hardest overall but with the limited amount of healing ability and lack of saving inside the palace makes it hard to make it through in one try even for experienced players. This was a title on the NES that was probably the most difficult of all others on that platform, and at that time I can remember spending countless hours just trying to make it all the way through to the end. I do not recall having this type of difficulty with any other dungeon or palace in any other zelda or other game in my lifetime.

For me it's just trying to get past the temple and defeating the boss! But some of the temples are easy, and some are not. I also found out somthing in the handheld games of legend of zelda there are shorter temples, than consle zelda games.

Ok.. I think any classic Zelda gamer would agree with me that Dungeon 6 on the original LoZ was one of the hardest. Also, the final dungeon on the second quest. Try beating that without a guide, it's near impossible without having hours upon hours to strain yourself at it.

That is exactly what I would have said.
The level-6 in LOZ was the toughest dungeon in the game. (maybe the second after level-9) The level-7 that comes after it was A REAL JOKE compared to that dungeon.

Also, the last palace in AOL IS THE TOUGHEST DUNGEON of all time in Zelda. It's really hard to just even get to that palace. It is a really complicated dungeon (enough to become crazy, yes crazy. I even wrote the way to get to the boss on a paper not to forget it) and when you tough you finally arrived at the final boss (after several times trying to beat him, you're like YEAH! I finally kill him!), HOP, here comes the real boss and you're like HOW MY GOSH! (Can't recall how many times I had to do the whole dungeon again just to get beaten by this dumb thing.)

Now, I've beaten this game (AOL) three times (really good game by the way) and I still wrote the way to the boss on a piece of paper. (not to get by the same area for nothing) And the final boss is still a lot challenging. :)

Hardest Zelda Dungeon, huh?

Hmmm...

The Water Temples are cake. I don't know why people hate them so much.

There's also a difference between hating and hardest. I hated Arbiter's Grounds, but it wasn't hard.

Hmmm...

Maybe Snowpeak Ruins. That might've been the hardest for me.

The most difficult temple has to be the Water Temple in OoT.
The boss frankly was difficult for me too, well more annoying.
The temple wasn't that difficult just like the first post, confusing. There's so much stuff you have to do get somewhere, etc.

Mine are

3: City in the Sky - Twilight Princess - This temple was very difficult.. getting used to the "SPOILER" double clawshot and stuff...

2: Stone Tower Temple - Majora's Mask - This temple was one of my favorite what with the music and the way you flip the temple over... but it also made the temple a giant puzzle and then another more difficult one when flipped over

1: Great Bay Temple - Majora's Mask - yeah... if you've played this i don't think i need to explain it but for those who haven't played it... well... its confusing with the changing the waters direction and the like what? 9 rooms you can go into and also putting the water in pipes to make a water jet appear... finding the 15 damn fairies... unfreezing water, melting water, over n over again and falling in a current of water will make you have to redo all of the temple... and dont forget the time limit... also another thing id like to note is when theirs one god damn fairy left and you cant find it >:( ... any ways

Great Bay! If not for the whole time limit, it wouldn't have been nearly so bad.

great bay was easy even with the time limit and fairies. i would say stone tower with all the fairies was hardest for me.

IŽm not sure but I do believe that the "Great Bay" temple was one of the most complicated to figure out. It also had a difficult boss and rough and tough sub-bosses.

What was also quite difficult was getting to the place! (Use your imagination and youŽll understand what I mean, hopefully ;))

Mine are 1.Stone Tower Temple.I will explain it you have to go through this confusing puzzle just to get to the temple and almost always having to go outside just to flip the temple.2.Shadow temple it was hard that all i remember havent played OoT in a while.3.Tower of the Gods.I know everyone is like that one is easy well not for me i know i know that you get the king of red lions on you team in that temple but i could even get in

Any manifestation of the "Water Temple". I don't know why, but they take extra time to make them really hard. I also don't like Wind Temple from WW.

I'd of course have to agree with others on the Great Bay Temple from MM. That was just plain difficult. It was quite confusing if you didn't know which pipes you needed to open up, and then it was hard to actually get to the valves once you knew where to go.

Other than that, I do remember being stuck on one spot in the City in the Sky from TP for several hours. I don't remember what spot, but I know I had to look it up on the ZD guides.

The Forest Temple in OoT was pretty difficult as well. Maybe not quite along the lines of the Great Bay Temple, but still pretty hard in its own way.

Honestly, for some odd reason, the Fire Temple from Twilight princess was a bit confusing for me. As far as I can remember I think it may be the most confusing, I think maybe it was the walking on the ceiling that messed me up. Who knows? Also from Twilight princess, the City in the Sky Temple. It was great, though those Oocas creep me out. O.o; Incredibly great Zelda game though, in my opinion, by far, one of (if not) the best. :)

Water Temple was pretty easy to get lost in, but I found that the Master version of the Water Temple was way more easier! Kind of odd I know, but it was some how! Next is Great Bay Temple! This one is a pain in the neck....It has twists and turns and could be a huge problem if you play through Majora's Mask your first time. Finally we come to the Snowpoint Temple! NOW THIS ONE WAS A MAJOR PAIN!!!! Very difficult, I did not enjoy this dungeon yet somehow it is very fun to play around in. I had hard time on this dungeon when I was playing my first run of Majora's Mask!

I'm going to bump this if you don't mind, rather not make a new thread, and I have no idea how old this topic is.

The hardest one i've ever done is Ganon's Castle, or Dark Castle, the third area of the Dark Woods or whatever in Four Swords Adventure, i'm having a hard time remembering names, but I do remember me being frustrated with it, and not getting past one area for a very long time.

I guess it's just me, but I think the Wind Temple from WW is pretty damn hard. During my first play-through, it took me forever to get out of there D:

Also, bump on super old topic FTW.

Personally, every single one of the temples in the games that I've played was pretty easy. Zelda is supposed to be half puzzle, half action/adventure. The temples just appeal more to the puzzle part. I have yet to play AoL though, so that's probably hard.

I don't know why everyone hate the water temples. It's good to think on a puzzle type game like Zelda. My hardest has to be the City in the Sky for sure. That temple made not too much sence. But after I beat it I thought to myself "Let's never to a 3heart run of TP, ever!". The City in the Sky was a dumb temple but a smart concept, just laid out kinda stupid. MM's Stone Tower temple is my favorite temple of MM. But the OoT water temple is still my favorite temple.

dude the city in the sky temple was easy.... the boss was the hardest part.... as for MM the whole game was confusing what with the three day thing... i always ran out of time unless i slowed it down... its funny for the game with the least amount of temples MM has to be the hardest

I've only played on OOT, TP, WW, and MM, so can only comment on the temples on those games (excluding stone tower on MM, as I haven't reached it yet).

For me, the hardest ever was the great bay temple (MM). Never have I been so frustrated with a zelda temple in my life. I struggled even with a walkthrough. The temple was huge and drawn out, and I kept mixing things up and falling off places, having to do stuff all over again. But, what really made me struggle was that damn boss. That gyorg has to be THE hardest zelda boss I have ever encountered. I also really struggled on the first mini-boss (that blob thing). The time limit didn't help... I finished the temple when it just struck dawn of the final day lol...

Here's my opinions on each dungeon I've ever played:

Deku Tree (OOT) - Painfully easy
Dodongo's Cavern (OOT) - Painfully easy
Jabu Jabu (OOT) - Some tricky and annoying bits, but not too bad
Forest Temple (OOT) - Medium difficulty
Fire Temple (OOT) - Apart from a certain jump, it was painfully easy
Water Temple (OOT) - Quite easy. I don't understand everyone's problem with this temple
Shadow Temple (OOT) - Very hard. My least favourite in OOT
Spirit Temple (OOT) - Quite hard. Mainly because of the iron knuckles though
Ganon's Castle (OOT) - Hardish, but not too bad
Forest Temple (TP) - Tricky for a first dungeon, but not too bad
Goron Mines (TP) - About the same as above
Lakebed Temple (TP) - Very hard and very confusing, didn't like it
Arbiter's Grounds (TP) - Hard in certain places
Snowpeak Ruins (TP) - Found this ok. Most enjoyable dungeon for me actually
Temple Of Time (TP) - Moderate difficulty
City In The Sky (TP) - One of the hardest, yes. Enjoyable though
Palace Of Twilight (TP) - Actually found it quite difficult tbh
Hyrule Castle (TP) - Not too bad. Very enjoyable too
Dragonroost Cavern (WW) - Easyish
Forbidden Woods (WW) - A bit harder than dragonroost, but still easyish
Tower Of The Gods (WW) - A bit harder than forbidden woods, but still easyish
Earth Temple (WW) - Quite hard
Wind Temple (WW) - Very hard
Ganon's Tower (WW) - Ok I think, and very enjoyable
Woodfall Temple (MM) - Not too bad
Snowhead Temple (MM) - Really difficult for me actually! That might be because of the fairys though...
Great Bay Temple (MM) - Most difficult of all as I said

So... how hard is the stone tower temple? Should I worry? lol

Also, I didn't include the well (OOT), Ice cavern (OOT), Forsaken Fortress (WW) etc as I don't really regard them as dungeons

OhYeah!

I'm stuck in the Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time so I'll guess it's the hardest one for me (yet).

Tha City in the Sky was also very tricky. I never figured out how to get to the boss. ^^'

The OoT Water Temple. No, it wasn't that hard, but I kept on getting lost. So that factor there made it very difficult for me. I also seemed to find the Forest Temple very hard as well. I couldn't figure out I had to shoot those eyes, and I too kept getting lost.

Another factor that contributed to the Water Temple was that I kept missing certain keys, then trying to go back for them got me lost. It's a lot of contributing factors that made that particular Temple difficult.

Surprisingly, the hardest dungeon for me would have to be the Lakebed Temple from Twilight Princess :embarrassed: . I got really frustrated with the main room's staircase. Plus, I got lost in that dungeon so many times. I'm not a big fan of temples were you have to maneuver underwater.

Tony

The hardest temple for me was the Great Bay temple. I had a lot of trouble with this dungeons mostly because you had to change the way the water was moving to get through certain pipes in the main room also I hated trying to find all the right valves so I could continue through the dungeon. Another dungeon that comes to mind is the Water temple from Ocarina of Time, now I am not going to rant on how hard it was because now that I have replayed OoT enough times to figure out that it was always the keys that tripped me up and made me have to back track to one of the three Triforce symbols in on off the rooms to increase or decrease the water level and go back and find that darn key. Also the Water temple was very big and complicated, which made me confused on where to go and such, so that also plays a big part in the difficulty of the Water temple.

IgosDuIkana
06-09-2011, 04:23 AM
The hardest for me was the Stone Tower Temple. I mean, it's my favorite temple EVER but man, when they flipped it, I just got lost. I'd be going back and fourth flipping it and un-flipping it because I'd miss a treasure chest or something and having to play the Elegy a billion times to move the blocks....It was the only temple in MM that I had to go back in time and start over on because I RAN OUT of time. The boss was extremely easy but getting through the temple (and getting the fairies) was a pain in the rear. But I loved it because it was such a challenge. Plus, the music was fantastic too.

The water temple on OOT was a pain too (though, not as much as everyone likes to make it out to be.) It just took the longest.

And for some reason, I didn't find the Great Bay Temple all that difficult. The boss was a pain but the temple itself I was able to figure out pretty easily. All in all though, the hardest temples are the ones we remember. :)

TP: Snowpeak Ruins

i find it insanely difficult and it took me so many tries to defeat darkhammer and made me so angry that i punched the table my TV is sitting on (not a good idea)-PAIN:S

this dungeon caused me physical pain.

By far the Water Temples. The one in OOT was confusing, but the one in MM is even harder. It's just as confusing but the enemies are stronger, especially the crappy frog in the slime caused me anger and a lot of time. And Gyorg is in my opinion also very annoying, if you don't know where to hit exactly he tears you into pieces.

ShaneOMac713

I don't really have a hardest dungeon or temple. If you are wondering why it is because all the dungeons and temples I have done have all been easy.

I would say Stone Tower Temple is the hardest. I just recently played through the water temple by memory and made only one mistake! But the Stone Tower has a lot more obstacles and challenges that make it tougher.

Aol great palace! this dungeon is EVIL! also, most of the other palaces is Aol should be on this list. in addition level 6, 8 and 9 in the original was also wery hard. in 3D Zelda's I'll have to say TP city in the sky, it was very confusing.

Turtle Rock in Link's Awakening. It was really massive and challenging. And it finally ended with a boss fight against Hot Head. It was cool though!

Hmmm.... There were a number of dungeons that were difficult for me... Ganon's tower in 'A Link to the Past' was hell for me, Jabu Jabu's Belly in 'Oracle of Ages'. nothing - NOTHING - stood anywhere close to Great Palace in 'The Adventue of Link' for me, though. I pride myself on my skill as a Zelda player, but that was absolutely ridiculous!

Ice Palace (ALTTP)

This dungeon is the hardest dungeon in my opinion.

I always slip on the ice and then I get hit a lot.
When I get hit a lot, that leads to death.

GaroXicon

Great Bay Temple.

Sooo much backtracking. It's massive. Puzzles are rarely constrained to a single room and often require large loops around the temple to complete. It's maddening.

But I love every second of it.

For me it has to be the Water Temple (Surprise!). Compared to other dungeons that are pretty linear the Water Temple required a lot of exploring.
Another one that proved quite challenging is the Tower of Spirits. There were some tricky puzzles there.
