Like the title emplys, has any sort of media made you cry? If so or if not. Then what as it or what's been the closest? Like has a movie, Video Game, book, Anime/ Cartoon, Manga/Comic book, song or any of that sort made you cry, or has there been a moment where you felt the classic "Throat Knot."

Has the ending of something made you cry? Or has the dead of a fictional character.

Come on, even if you're the manliest of man, you have all cried over something, even if it is as crucial as a movie or such.

I will say some of the times where something has made me cry, now, I am a very cold person, I guess you could say, so I've never cried over anything like this, but here are some of the ones that have came close.

Many MANY games that I've finished as a child, especially Zelda, I get that feeling of "Hell yeah, this is the best moment of my life." and Wind Waker, that was kind of sad at the beggining.

The ending to Luigi's Mansion, it made me feel sad and good for the 2 brothers.

Other than that an anime and manga that have come close to me is "Elfen Lied" and if you have watched it (or read it) then you would know why.

And some video game songs from games of my childhood, they give me such a nostalgia attack.

So what are yours? Or what has come close?

Also: Should this really be on this section? I was wondering wether it belonged in here or in the General Talk...

No matter how hard I try, I can not cry.... It is a lot being bottled up.... The closest in Media I came to crying is in SSBB in Subaspace were Ganon made the R.O.B.s turn on the green guy. That was soo sad.....

There have only been three times when a certain type of media was so sad I cried. But remember, this post contains SPOILERS so read at your own risk, and don't say I didn't warn you.

The first is the episode of Pokemon in which Ash pretty much left Pikachu alone in that forest with all the other Pikachu's because he thought it'd be happier there. But what really made me cry was when Pikachu still came with Ash. Pokemon has never been as touching before or since then, period.

The second was in PMTTYD during Bobbery's backstory. I really feel for the poor pirate bomb. He was out at sea and his wife died. Of course, he blamed himself and refused to go out to sea again. To top it all off, Bobbery's supposed "friend" kept a letter written by Scarlett (Bobbery's wife) from him that he KNEW would probably ease his suffering and allow him to forgive himself. But no, Podley just decided to be a jerk (understatement of the century, lol) and not ease Bobbery's suffering.

Then, there was the ending of PMD2. I knew it was coming, the game made it immensely clear that Pikachu would die when he completed his mission (I always play as Pikachu in that game, sue me), but when it happened I just didn't expect what happened. I cried. I knew it'd happen, but I still cried. It was just how heartbroken and down little Chikorita would be when I died and how without me, she would be all alone and lost without me. I still feel a little heartbroken when I see the ending to that game.

I haven't cried because of any media.... I could and I should hold my tears since anyone in my house would be surprised if they saw me crying. And I hate crying. But there were sometimes when I almost cried though. The following contains SPOILERS for those whom haven't read/watched FMA or Naruto.

The first time was in Naruto when I found out Itachi was a good person. He sacrificed all his life pretended to be a traitor, being hated by everyone (me included), just to defend his one and only brother. Even when in his last breath, he didn't say a word about anything. He knew he was going to die, yet he willing accepted it. And the last praised...'Sorry Sasuke, this is the last time'.........It's just so sad and touching. I kept reading it over and over..... Couldn't believe I was wrong the whole time and misjudged him. And now he's death......

The second time was in FMA when Hughes died. A cheerful man who loved his family, his daughter. And he died could even said the last word to his family. And his daughter, knew nothing about the shocking event, kept waiting for her father, who could never go home again....... And in his funeral, everyone stood there silently, too sad to say a single word. His daughter was just kept on screaming for her father, 'Mama, why are they burying papa? If they do that, papa won't be able to do his work! Papa said he had a lot of work to do! No! Don't bury him! Papa!!!'......The mother unable to do anything, all she could do was embraced her little child, crying..... It made me felt really sad... And I though of my own father if anything happened to him....

I think I may have once cried at something in Lilo and Stitch, though I can't for the life of me remember why as that was so long ago. Usually I refuse to let myself cry about anything because I've developed a sort of...well I just absolutely can't stand crying. I tend to disconnect myself from fictional characters just to avoid the heart-string tugging that usually leads to tears, but sometimes the story is good enough that it almost gets me.

I can't remember too many off the top of my head since I usually force myself to forget such emotional weakpoints, but I seem to clearly remember that a certain song, "Again" by Yui (first opening song to FMA Brotherhood), made me really close to tears on several occasions. It's not even the song itself, just the weird memories I've entangled into it from listening to it when I'm depressed. I don't know if that counts but hey. *shrugs* Only recent example I can remember.

I am a very emotional person and I have cried several times during games.
Examples:

FFVII, when Sephiroth kills Aerith, I knew it was gonna happen, I had already seen the scene on Youtube, but... I dunno, I cried really hard.
Persona 4, when Nanako-chan diesthey were able to reaninimate her later.
I mean, she was just an eight-year older, who happened to be your cousin and with whom you shared a tight bond...

I don't know why I can never bawl my eyes out at a sad moment, even though I can be a very emotional person myself.. The only thing I really do is tear up. That being said, it's usually videogames(and thier music)that make me cry.

I did feel pretty emotional at some points in SSBB. The points where you see the R.O.B.s sad because they know they're going to die, and The Ancient Minister watching over them regretting what he's done make me cry every time I see them.

And another one is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. It was when you were about to leave town(I was a Bulbasaur) because you were a fugitive. All your friends come to say goodbye and this sentimental kind of music plays Add that to what was going on and it made me almost break down in tears.

Another Pokemon-related thing that made me cry was Pokemon: The First Movie, at the point where everyone's fighting and Ash gets turned to stone. Pikachu starts crying, and all the other Pokemon and their clones(who they were fighting) began crying too. This made me so sad, I wanted to cry with the Pokemon.

More often than I can count. Some are less embarrassing than others. I never mind admitting I cried at the end of "To Kill a Mockingbird" or "Lord of the Rings." On the other hand, there's the scene in the movie "Sweet Home Alabama", in which they visit a pet cemetery and I start bawling because it reminds me of my childhood pets...

Though actually I don't mind for the most part. It's usually related to my love of animals or I just empathize really strongly with the character. Now, if I were crying because something I wanted to happen didn't actual happen by the end of the book/tv series/game, then that'd be a problem.

I don't think so, not that I am aware of anyway. Maybe I haven't cried, but felt sad, lots of times.

Those commercials about the abandoned animals and hurt animals make me cry. That's cruel that people would do that to animals. I also cried at the end of Toy Story 3 and Marley and Me.

About crying over any sort of media: I usually don't cry at all. Not even close. I'm not emotional cold hearted but I hardly cry. The ending of LOTR in both books and movies brought me close to tears. The movie Philadelphia was the first movie I had to cry but this was such a tiny bit you can't call it real crying. In Twilight Princess Queen Rutela's story and the music playing in the background always makes me emotional but no tears yet.
The only time I really cried my heart out about something in the media was back in 1993 when 2-years old Jamie Bulger was kidnapped and killed by two 10 years old boys. One of the most saddest and heartbreaking stories ever. It took me like three weeks when I finally could talk about it without crying. I still have difficulties reading it back while it already happened 17 years ago.

Hmm well before a lot of stuff happened i think i cried like 2 or 3 times

one was when i was like 7 i saw something to do with a giant ape on this farris wheel and died

On lilo and stitch it was a movie where stich nearly died again i was young.

But now i wont even shed a tear, Hmm if you have seen Higurashi no naku koro ni like episode 23 were satako gets tortured by shion i literly laughed at it i felt so heartless. Well to get a better veiw go to youtube and type in Higurashi satoko Torture scene.... beware of spoilerss and blood... But ive learned to hide my emotions pretty well since i put on a ored poker face half the time unless im with my friends then i say screw it and i smile :|. And i can make my self cry all i haev to do is think of my dog dying, that is probally the only thing left that would make me cry... not even if my parents diesd i wouldnt cry... But this is about media not Rl.. any who im just kinda heartless at times and say teh person deserved it liek satoko

Maybe its just cause my girl friend forces me to watch this kind of stuff...
but I tear up all the time and movies and tv shows. Especially tv shows that I am very familiar with. With tv shows the character development exceeds that of video games, movies etc and every single event involving those character has a huge impact on me. Medical shows get me every month or so, especially season finales. The Lost finale actually got me crying.. so beautiful.

Movies is a whole different game. Each event in the movie is trying to show you a message/ make an event more powerful (if its done well). So you invest yourself in something for at least 1.5 hours and any good director can make you cry, if that's his/her plan.

Unfortunately, I think that making an audience cry has been broken down to a science. A lot of times its the same event, just switching up some details. Like all Nick Sparks movies. I've only been forced to see two, but yes i teared up, because Nick Sparks writes **** for women to get high on and then cry and make them think he is talented, when really, he just knows the science of making you cry.

Most recently I teared up for Toy Story 3... And Star Trek VII...

so there.

There's quite a few movies that can make me cry; I was watching Lilo and Stitch a week ago and cried my eyes out when they said
"What are you waiting for?"
"Family."

I suppose I'll compile a list:
Lilo and Stitch
Requiem for a Dream
The Fountain
The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Pans Labyrinth
Phantom of the Opera
The Lion King (when Simba's dad dies...)
March of the Penguins....

....Maybe I'm just an emotional person
:S

The ending of the Fellowship of the Ring totally got me. I never liked Boromir, but I was a wreck when he died. And then when Sam ran after Frodo who was already half way across the river, and Aragorn's pep talk to Legolas and Gimli. ;A; I'm a sucker for motivational speeches and optimism like that.

Return of the King was amazing, too.
"I'm glad I'm with you Samwise Gamgee. Here at the end of all things." Totally lost it when Frodo, Gandalf, Bilbo, Elrond and Galadriel sailed away and the other hobbits were crying. That was a really powerful and touching moment.

And just about anything by Miyazaki makes me cry...Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, especially. Those movies are absolutely beautiful.

And on youtube, theres a guy playing the song of healing from MM on Ocarina, it's so beautiful and sad, i love it so much.

I tear up quite often around emotionally provoking movies or books; I'm a real softy when it comes to those sorts of things. Only if it's well done, though; if it's poorly done I'll get angry.
To Kill A Mockingbird, Grapes of Wrath, Casablanca, Up, Wall-E, Toy Story 1 and 3, The Green Mile... the list goes on and on.
I may have cried once or twice when playing a video game; the ending credits music to Ocarina of Time can catch me occasionally with a tear in my eye.

Some people tend not to cry for insecurity reasons -- pshaw! Showing emotion proves you're a human being more than pretending to be some lifeless, shadow of yourself ever will; I'm not afraid to embrace that. People shouldn't be. ^^

Call me a loser, but I did cry at the end of Lost. It was simply one of the most powerful series finales I have ever witnessed. And, it will stay in my heart and in my mind for a while. I wish I could go into greater detail, but I do not wish to spoil anything.

Yes, mainly movies, some anime, and some cartoons have made me cry. I remember crying during the series finale of ATLA at the part when Sokka was hanging onto Toph and he had a broken leg and they were surrounded by Fire Nation soldiers. *sniff* I was afraid that they were gonna die. I also remember crying during movies after something sad had happened or during the process of the sad thing happening.

Anime & Video games have made me cry a lot more than regular television. Which is weird considering that it should be the other way around.
Anyway, there have been a bunch of stuff that made me cry.......

Anime
#1. Pokemon- Some of the episodes from Pokemon were pretty sad. Like that one part where Ash had to say goodbye to Pikachu....I cried a little bit until I realized they were getting back together at the end. Also, I think it was the first movie too which was Mew vs. Mewtwo that made me cry a lot because towards the end of the film, Ash turned to stone and that was where you had to witness all of the Pokemon crying.....:kawaii::kawaii:

#2. Yu-Gi-Oh!- I didn't cry during this show! It was the final episode that got me a little choked up because I knew it was about to end soon. Which was awful because I grew up on this show too by watching it and by collecting the trading cards. :( GX is okay, but I dislike 5D's.

#3.Naruto- There have been a bunch of scenes that made me cry like certain characters dying. But, overall this show doesn't make the viewers cry that much.

Now, when it comes to video games, the only thing that comes to my mind is the ending to Final Fantasy XIII.....There should been an alternate ending somewhere.D:

I 100% agree that the finale for LOST is amazing and I'm going to go ahead and say I think it will change television. (back to topic)

I cried for it too. Anyone who tries to call you a loser is the REAL loser!

I've never cried, but there was one movie that made me very upset! I don't know how many of you seen it, but its fairly good movie. Its called Reign Over me, staring Adam Sandler, and Don Cheadle. Normally Adam Sandler stars in comedy, but this is far from a comedy movie! Hopefully, it won't ruin the movie too much, but I'll explain why it got to me. In the movie Adam Sandler plays a guy who is suppressing his depression by forcing himself in amnesia. He doesn't talk to anyone in his past and pretends he is just a young kid, where he plays video games and rides a bike. He meets an old friend who he doesn't remember (Don Cheadle), who helps him fight his suppression by forcing him to remember his past.

~Spoiler~
In his past, he was married, had kids, and a great job! He lost it all when his entire family was in a plain crash and died. He avoided everything that would remind him of them and lived that life for a long time. His friend sees that isn't good and helps him out of it. In the end he meets a new girl and slowly recovers from his depression. That entire movie got to me, because it was really sad, even to the end! I would recommend it to anyone.

Soul Eater made me cry. Bawl is more like it. One of my favorite characters died and...Yeah. I think I'm going to have enough tears to fill Death Valley in awhile. My absolute favorite character is slowly going insane. He's not the same anymore...

I'm a very emotional Random Person, though I do know people who cry a lot more than me. One movie that had me bawling was called "Facing the Giants." It's about a guys whose trying to live correctly and teach his football team to do so too. There were many scenes in that movie that brought tears to my eyes, but one scene made it so I couldn't suck them back in. Since then, I have been more emotional about movies and stuff. It seems that that one movie broke me. I even cry when something bad happens in my own story, which I've known for a while would happen.
