Photoshop Contest: Free Week #5

Hi there, Zelda fans! Today marks the end of another month for Zelda Informer’s weekly Photoshop Contest, meaning we’ll be holding yet another Free Week. There is no definite theme this week. So if you’re looking to win, you’re going to have to find your own creative way to ‘shop the images we provide. Do you think you can handle it? Well, let’s head inside to see. We can even have a look at the winners of last week’s contest: Zelda Protagonists as Villains.

Last Week’s Contest:

We were definitely surprised by the number of new contestants we saw join the contest, which was to take a classic hero or protagonist from the Zelda series and transform him or her into a villain.

Challenge Mode

The Challenge last week was simple: turn a hero that was neither Link or Zelda into a villain. Oh, and include a panda somewhere. Well, artist Wreet Weet took this challenge a few steps forward by including three villain-ized heroes instead of just one. Princess Ruto, Fi, and the King of Red Lions have formed “Team Angry Eyebrows,” a group so dastardly that they have adopted the universal trait for an evil persona. No green-clad hero would dare oppose those angry eyebrows, as they remain slanted ever-so-menacingly. And where’s that Panda? It’s been printed on the boat’s side of course. I want these villains in the next Zelda game; excellent job.

This Week’s Contest: Free Week #5

As with Free Weeks of the past, ‘shoppers will be given more freedom when constructing their submissions. You won’t have a particular theme to guide you, so thin long and hard on how you’ll utilize the images found below.

Free Week Rules: I will provide just a few images in the gallery below. As long as at least one of these images is used in your entry in some way, you are free to produce any image you like.

General Rules:

• Submit your entries in the comments section below.
• To save images from the gallery, right click the image in the gallery (without opening the image in lightbox) and select open image in new tab. Go up to the address bar and delete __small from the URL. Hit enter, right click, and save!
• Photoshop is not required to enter the contest. Any image manipulation software can be used to create your entry.
• Please refrain from using offensive material (racial, sexual, overuse of offensive language, etc.) We want to make the contest fun and accessible for fans of all ages.
• Everyone is entitled to their own opinion at Zelda Informer. In fact, we encourage discussion based on those opinions. However, please do not insult other fans’ work. What may be funny to one person may not hold true for another…and that’s OK.
• Have fun and be creative!

Deadline: Submit entries no later than next Wednesday at midnight: 11:59 p.m. PST on September 30. Entries submitted after this Deadline will not be considered.

Challenge Mode

For those that who want to test their skills with something more challenging, we have a few Challenge Rules for you to follow:

1. Your entry must include an iPhone 6S.

2. Your entry must include a Shuckle from Pokemon.

If you think you’re up to the challenge, include the phrase Challenge Accepted with your submission. Remember, Challenge Mode submissions follow the same rules and guidelines of the base Photoshop Contest in addition to the Challenge Rules.
