The Legend of Zelda is no stranger to dark themes and elements, but the darker side of the Hyrule mythos remains mostly in the dark. Though there are the demons from which the monsters would descend, and entities that have attained a demonic status, like Ganondorf and Vaati, truly disturbing fiends of terror remain few and far between. The best example of hellish demons in the Zelda franchise would be the Horned Statue from Breath of the Wild‘s Hateno Village. This demon’s…

With all that expertise and robust catalogue of armaments, could Link be the hero in other fantasy worlds? Link has had a few cameos in other games, yet in none of…

The world of high fashion is strange and ever evolving. Multiple times a year, designers fill global runways with the craziest and most imaginative outfits ever conceived. And not a single one of them is practical or comfortable. The Legend of Zelda definitely has its fair share of crazy outfits, and Tri-Force Heroes did a wonderful job of creating wacky clothes for Link. The Gachaman inspired suit is easily the best one, but I’ve always been a sucker for nods…

We already have a pretty wild year in store for us as Zelda fans. Even with all of the games we have coming our way, a lot of people have been speculating on when the next big release in the series will be. In this week’s Hyrule Compendium, Mases and I discuss the possibility of the game coming out next year. This came from the news of Monolith Soft hiring to work on said game. Do you think it’s almost…
