Sand of Hours

-The sand of hours are the sand that helps fuel the Phantom Hourglass. Link receives the Phantom During his second encounter with the Temple of the Ocean King. Once he gest the hourglass, it comes filled with 10minutes of sand. Going through the main quest will lead Link in getting ten more minutes of sand, two minutes from each of the five main bosses after receiving the hourglass. There are however, five other locations where Link can aquire sand, each holding 1 minute of the sand of hours. All togethor, the Phantom Hourglass when fully filled, can hold 25minutes of sand. Below is a listing of all the locations that Link can get sand.

Sand of Hours #1
Location: Temple of the Ocean King: Entry Hall Amount of Sand: 10 minutes Required Items: None First Chance to Get: After Temple of Fire
-Gained when you get the Phantom Hourglass. The hourglass comes filled with 10minutes of sand. -The Phantom Hourglass is found in the entrance chamber of the Temple of the Ocean King. However, Link can't get it until his second visit after he has beaten the Temple of Fire.

Sand of Hours #2
Location: Temple of Wind Amount of Sand: 2 Minutes Required Items: None First Chance to Get: During Temple of Wind
-Aquired after defeating the boss of the Temple of Wind. -The boss of the Temple of Wind is Cyclok, Stirrer of Winds. Refer to the Boss Guide for strategies on defeating Cyclok.

Location: Southwest Quadrant: Northeast of Mercay Island Amount of Sand: 1 Minute Required Items: Salvage Arm; Treasure Map #2 First Chance to Get: After Temple of the Ocean King 2
-In order to reach the sunken chest, Link must first aquire the 2nd treasure map. For a complete listing, visit the treasure maps page. -The sunken chest is at the bottom of the sea. Salvage it, and then Link will open it up to add another minute of sand to the Phantom Hourglass.

Location: Southwest Quadrant: West of Cannon Island Amount of Sand: 1 Minute Required Items: Salvage Arm; Treasure Map #9 First Chance to Get: After Temple of the Ocean King 2
-In order to reach the sunken chest, Link must first aquire the 9th treasure map. For a complete listing, visit the treasure maps page. -The sunken chest is at the bottom of the sea. Salvage it, and then Link will open it up to add another minute of sand to the Phantom Hourglass.

Sand of Hours #5
Location: Temple of Courage Amount of Sand: 2 Minutes Required Items: None First Chance to Get: During Temple of Courage.
-Aquired after defeating the boss of the Temple of Courage. -The boss of the Temple of Courage is Crayk, Bane of Courage. Refer to the Boss Guide for strategies on defeating Crayk.

Location: Northwest Quadrant: North of Isle of Gust Amount of Sand: 1 Minute Required Items: Salvage Arm; Treasure Map #11 First Chance to Get: After Temple of the Ocean King 4

-Aquired after defeating the boss of the Goron Temple. -The boss of the Goron Temple is Dongorongo, Armored Lizard. Refer to the Boss Guide for strategies on defeating Dongorongo.

Sand of Hours #8
Location: Temple of Ice Amount of Sand: 2 Minutes Required Items: None First Chance to Get: During Temple of Ice
-Aquired after defeating the boss of the Temple of Ice. -The boss of the Temple of Ice is Gleeok, Two-Headed Dragon. Refer to the Boss Guide for strategies on defeating Gleeok.
