Kokiri Tunic
How to Get: Begins game with this item
Description: This is Link's standard tunic. He will wear it for the majority of the game

Goron Tunic
How to Get: As adult link, go to Goron City and throw a bomb at the rolling Goron. He will give you the tunic
Description: This tunic will allow Link to tolerate the extreme heat conditions he will face. This tunic is needed to complete the Fire Temple

Zora Tunic
How to Get: As adult link use Blue Fire to melt King Zora, and he will reward you with this tunic
Description: This tunic will allow link to go under water without needing to come back up to surface for air. This tunic is needed to complete the Water Temple


Swords


Kokiri Sword
How to Get: In a treasure chest located in the Training Ground Center of Kokiri Forest
Description: One of the Kokiri's treasures. It is needed to get past Mido to see The Great Deku Tree

Master Sword
How to Get: Found in the Temple of Time. Link will need to collect the three spiritual stones, and learn the Song of Time from Princess Zelda to get the Master Sword
Description: A legendary sword of Hyrule. Link will be able to travel through time when he takes or puts the sword back in the pedestal, which holds the Sword

Giant's Knife
How to Get: Buy it from the Huge Goron that is in Goron City
Description: Link needs two hands two hold this sword. It is very fragile and will break after a certain number of hits

Biggoron's Sword
How to Get: After going through the long trading sequence as an adult, this is Links award
Description: This sword is also a two handed sword. Unlike the Giant's Knife, this sword will not break. It does double the damage as The Master Sword


Shields


Deku Shield
How to Get: Can be bought from the store in Kokiri Forest. This item is also found in many dungeons
Description: This is Links main shield as a child. It burns easily from fire, so try avoiding those Fire Bats.

Hylian Shield
How to Get: This shield can be found under one the gravestones. It can also be purchased in either the Bazaar shop in the Market as a child or Kakariko Village as an adult
Description: This shield can be equipped by both adult and child link. Child link can only wear it on his back though. It does not burn like the Deku Shield

Mirror Shield
How to Get: Found inside the Spirit Temple
Description: This shield can reflect Light and Magic spells. Only adult link can use this shield


Boots


Kokiri Boots
How to Get: Begins game with this item
Description: This is Link's standard pair of boots. Link will wear them for a majority of the game

Iron Boots
How to Get: This is the main treasure in the Ice Cavern
Description: These boots are very heavy. Link can sink to the bottom of the water while wearing these. Link walks very slowly these on. Needed for the Water Temple

Hover Boots
How to Get: The main treasure in the Shadow Temple
Description: These boots will allow link to float in the air for a very short period of time. Can be used to get across platforms that are to big for Link to jump across


C-Button Items


Bombchu
How to Get: In some treasures in the game. Also purchased in a few shops throughout Hyrule
Description: Moving bombs that explode after a certain time or when they hit something. These bombs aren't very useful as it is very difficult to aim where the bomb will go. They are needed to complete certain parts of several dungeons in the game

Boomerang
How to Get: Located in the big treasure in Jabu-Jabu's Belly
Description: Very affective against distant enemies. Also works well against electrical enemies. Link can retrieve items that are far away with the boomerang

Deku Nuts
How to Get: Several enemies give these out as rewards. Can also be purchased in various shops
Description: Probably the most useless item in the game. Throwing them at your enemy will stun them for a short period. Can be used against Queen Gohma, but for the most part deku nuts will not be used in Link's quest

Deku Stick
How to Get: Many enemies give these out as rewards after they have been defeated. Also can be purchased in several stores throughout the land
Description: A stick that can be used as an item, but rarely is. There main use is as a torch. You can light the top of a deku stick for a short period of time. Used to light several torches, or to light up spider webs. Both adult and child link can use these

Fairy Bow
How to Get: Found in the big treasure of the Forest Temple
Description: Adult links version of the slingshot. The Fairy Bow will allow link to shoot a variety of arrows. Can shoot special targets or switches with. Also can kill distant enemies

Light Arrows
How to Get: Princess Zelda gives you the Light Arrows at the Temple of Time after you have defeated all six temples
Description: These arrows are needed to defeat Ganondorf. They are the only item that can defeat Ganondorf

Ice Arrows
How to Get: Complete the Gerudo Training Ground
Description: Ice arrows will allow link to freeze certain enemies in the game.

Fire Arrows
How to Get: Found in Lake Hylia. Shoot the sun as its rising and Fire arrows will appear on one of the platforms
Description: Used to light torches. Can also melt certain items as well.

Fairy Slingshot
How to Get: Found in the big treasure of the Great Deku Tree
Description: The main weapon that will be used as young link. Link can shoot deku seeds with this slingshot. Can shoot distant enemies, and hit targets and switches as well.

Hookshot
How to Get: Found in the graveyard under Dampe's grave. Race against him and beat him to get this item
Description: Link can hook onto distant things, such as vines or wood. Also can be used to stun certain enemies. Can be used to bring enemies closer to you. Can also be used to kill certain enemies. Needed to enter the Forest Temple

Lens of Truth
How to Get: Found in the well in Kakariko Village as child link
Description: The Lens of Truth will enable you to see things that were invisible before. Will allow link to "cheat" in the treasure chest game in the Market. Though, technically it is not needed. Using it will really help out your quest, especially in the Shadow Temple

Longshot
How to Get: Found in the big treasure of the Water Temple
Description: Does the same thing as the Hookshot, accept it goes twice as far. Used to hookshot to places that the regular hookshot cannot reach. Once received it replaces the hookshot

Megaton Hammer
How to Get: Found in the big treasure of the Fire Temple
Description: Can be used to break huge rocks. Can also push down some rusted switches

Magic Bean
How to Get: Purchased from the Magic Bean salesmen as a child in Zora's River
Description: These beans can be planted as a child. When link returns as an adult, he will see a leaf where he planted the bean and will be able to ride on it for several reasons. Leafs can be used for faster transportation, some rupees, or for a piece of heart

Fairy Ocarina
How to Get: Given to Link by Saria once Link leaves the forest for the first time
Description: Plays some Ocarina Songs. Doesn't really have any special powers

Ocarina of Time
How to Get: After you collect the three spiritual stones, return to the castle to see a cut scene with Zelda riding on a horse out of the Market. She will toss the Ocarina of Time into the water. After the cut scene dive in and get it. You will learn the Song of Time once you receive it
Description: Plays all Ocarina Songs. Has special power that can open the Door of Time

Din's Fire
How to Get: Found in the Hyrule Castle Courtyard. Blast away the boulder at the dead end and crawl through. Awaken the Fairy with Zelda's Lullaby and get Din's Fire
Description: Can be used if there are several enemies in the room at once. Makes a huge dome of fire. Also used to light torches. Needed to enter the Shadow Temple

Farore's Wind
How to Get: Found in Zora's Domain. Behind the stack of boulders behind Jabu-Jabu, lies a Fairy Fountain. Play Zelda's Lullaby to awaken the fairy and get Farore's Wind
Description: This item creates warp points inside dungeons. Use it once to create a warp point. Use it a second time to warp to that part of the dungeon. Not use outside of dungeons

Nayru's Love
How to Get: Found in the Desert Colossus. Once you enter the desert from the Haunted Wasteland, stay against the right side. You will notice a small crack, which you can bomb to reveal a fairy fountain. Play Zelda's Lullaby to awaken the Fairy and get Nayru's Love
Description: Using Nayru's Love will create a protective light over link. Though the light does go away after awhile, enemies cannot hurt Link while the light is around him.


Special Items


Mask of Truth
How to Get: Received from the mask salesman after you sell the other four masks
Description: Can talk to gossip stones. They will tell you some useful information on your quest. Only young link can use this mask

Stone of Agony
How to Get: After you catch 20 gold skulltulas go to the House of Skulltulas to get your reward
Description: This item isn't needed, but can be helpful. If you have a rumble pack, it will rumble when you are near a secret hole

Gerudo's Membership Card
How to Get: After freeing the four carpenters you will be rewarded with this
Description: Will allow you to go through the Gerudo Valley without having to worry about being caught. Can now gain entrance to the Archery Range and then Gerudo Training Grounds


Bottle Items


Bottle
How to Get: For full descriptions click here
Description: Bottles will allow link to hold different items in them. Such as potions, poes, fairies, fish, bugs, and blue fire

Blue Fire
How to Get: Found in the Ice Cavern also can be purchased
Description: Used to melt people, treasure chests, and other random things that are in frozen red ice

Bottle of Bugs
How to Get: Found randomly in underground holes and other random locations
Description: Can be let go near Bean Bed Locations to scare out gold skulltulas

Fairy's Spirit
How to Get: Found in Fairy Fountains, rewards after you defeat enemies, or they can be purchased in different shops in Hyrule
Description: After Link has lost all his hearts, the Fairy Spirit will heal link to a certain number of hearts to allow him to continue

Fish
How to Get: Can be purchased or found near some bodies of water
Description: Used to enter Jabu-Jabu's Belly

Lon Lon Milk
How to Get: PLay Epona's Song in front of a cow or play Talon and win
Description: Used to recover 5 hearts at a time and has two drinks

Poe
How to Get: Found in the graveyard
Description: Can be sold to the Poe Collector

Green Potion
How to Get: Purchased in shops throughout Hyrule
Description: Will fill up Link's Magic Meter completely

Red Potion
How to Get: Purchased in shops throughout Hyrule
Description: Will fill up Link's Hearts completely

Blue Potion
How to Get: Purchased only in the Granny Potion Shop as an adult
Description: Will fill up both Link's Magic Meter and Hearts completely

Goron's Bracelet
How to Get: Play Saria's Song in front of Darunia and he will give you this as a reward
Description: This item will allow Link to pick up Bomb Flowers

Silver Gauntlets
How to Get: One of the big treasures of the Spirit Temple
Description: Will allow Link to list heavy objects

Golden Gauntlets
How to Get: Found in the shadow room of Ganon's Castle
Description: Will alloy Link to pick up the heaviest objects

Silver Scale
How to Get: Complete the Diving game in Zora's Domain as a child
Description: This scale will allow Link to dive down to 5m instead of 3m

Gold Scale
How to Get: Catch a 20-pound fish in the Fishing Pond in Lake Hylia
Description: The Gold Scale will allow link to dive down to 8m rather then 3m or 5m

Deku Seed Bag
How to Get: Link gets this bag when he gets the Slingshot
Description: Carries Deku Seed Bullets that can be used by the slingshot. Can be upgraded twice

Bomb Bag
How to Get: Found in a chest in Dondongo's Cavern. The bag is filled with bombs
Description: Links can carry bombs in the bag. Two upgrades are also available

Quiver
How to Get: Found in the Forest Temple. You get it when you get the Fairy Bow
Description: Link can now carry Arrows. Two upgrades are available


Ammo


Arrows
How to Get: Found in the quiver that came with the Fairy Bow
Description: These are mainly used to kill enemies, but a lot of times, open up new secrets, such as doors opening or a new weapon like the fire arrow

Deku Seeds
How to Get: Found in the Deku Seeds bag that came with the Fairy Slingshot
Description: These are shot with the Fairy Slingshot to either kill enemies, or reviel some kind of secret

Bombs
How to Get: Come in the bomb bag found in Dodongo's Cavern
Description: Bombs do about the same thing they do in ever other Zelda game. Some secrets will need Link to place a bomb against a hidden wall or to blow up a rock. It also can be used as a weapon, but rarely is

Magic Jar
How to Get: Just about anywhere
Description: Basically, your ammo for your magic. It is a very important item when it comes to magic using arrows


Dungeon Items


Compass
How to Get: Always in a big treasure chest
Description: Used to find the secrets and the boss of a dungeon

Map
How to Get: Always in a big treasure chest
Description: Locate which room you are in and which one you need to go to next

Small Key
How to Get: Found in small treasure chests in adult dungeons mainly. The bottom of the well as a child has small keys
Description: Used to open up one door in a certain dungeon. These are mainly found as an adult for the adult dungeons are harder

Big/Boss Key
How to Get: Only found as an adult. They are located in the golden treasure chests
Description: THese open up your way to the bosses lair. Some people call them by a different name because they know about ALTTP which says big key instead of boss key

Dungeon Special Item
How to Get: Somewhere in a big chest. Usually need to kill something or complate a certain task
Description: These are the special items of a dungeon. There is one in each and are usually the hard thing to get
