Now that you have the flippers swim left a screen into the deep water and enter the cave here. Swim over the large fish and it will ask if you have an Ocarina. The fish will sing and Link will have learned Manbo's Mamba for your Ocarina.
Exit the cave and swim right four screens and you will find another cave. It is filled with deep water. Swim around the room and dive under the water and you will find a heart container lying around. Exit the cave and head down a screen. Climb the ladder here and use your Ocarina to play the Manbo's Mambo and you will be taken to Crazy Tracy's house
Once you leave the screen you will notice there is a ghost following you around telling you to take him home. Don't mind him for now and just head left two screens to get back into the Mysterious Forest. Head through the forest and into Maybe Village. You should by now have 980 rupees or somewhere close to that. If not, play the Trendy Game or go Fishing to gather some more rupees to get to 980 rupees. There is also a cave that is two screens right and one screen up from the shop that holds a chest that contains 50 rupees. Once you have enough head into the shop and buy the Bow and Arrow.
Once you got the bow head down to the shoreline along the far left side of Maybe Village. Head all the way to the screen where you met with Marin on the beach. From here head up, right, and down to get to a house here. He will look around and then he will want you to take him to his grave.
Head back all the way to the portal that would take you to Animal Village, but don't go through it. From here head up three screens and then left a screen. Head down the steps here and slash at the bush in the center here. Dig with your shovel and you will find another secret seashell. Head up the steps on the left and he will thank you for bringing him to his grave. He also says there is a jar in his house and that you should look inside. The owl will show up and tell you that you have to dive in order to get to the next dungeon, Catfish Maw.
Before we go we have several seashells we can get. These aren't vital to the quest so you can skip this portion if you would like. Head to Tal Tal Heights as if you were heading to the previous dungeon. Take the steps up that you took before. The one where there is a cave surrounded by three blocks. Make your way through the cave as you did before. Now back outside on the Tal Tal Mountain Range, head right four screens, up the long ladder, and left two screens. There should be a house here which is known as the Chicken house. Don't go inside, but instead head right two screens. There are a few rocks here, lift them to find a secret seashell.
Head back a few screens to where you went up the large set of the stairs by the waterfalls. From here head right and enter the cave. There is all water in this area but one piece of land. Place a bomb and it will reveal a hole here. Make your way through this cave to get to a room full with treasure chests. You can only open four of them by pushing the blocks. Each contains 20 rupees. Exit the cave and head down a screen. Open the chest here to get a secret seashell.
Head back to where the portal to Animal Village is. From here head left and down a screen. Use you Pegasus Boots to dash into the bush to the right and a secret seashell will fall out. Grab it and now head to the entrance to Key Cavern.
Head right and up a screen and swim to the lone island here. Stand above the bush and cut it down and there is another secret seashell waiting for you.
|
Head one screen left and dash into the bush that is here and another secret seashell will fall out. Grab it and then make your way to the Ghosts house.
Lift the jars at the bottom-right. Under the jar in the corner of the room and you will find another secret seashell.
|
Exit the house and head right a screen. Dash jump over the holes here and head right another screen. Head into the water and walk around to get to the land area. Cut down the tree here to get a secret seashell.
Head up a screen and right a screen. You will be on the other side of the water from the mermaid statue. Cut down the bush here to find yet another secret seashell.
Head back left, up, jump in the water, and swim up another screen. Swim right and then take the stairs to resurface. Head up, then left, and enter the cave here. Head left a screen and place a bomb against the wall at the far left. Head up the steps and make your way through the cave pushing blocks. Exit the cave and head up a screen. The owl statue here will tell you theres a secret around. Dig using your shovel and you will find another secret seashell. Head back into the cave and head right a screen. Climb the steps and jump off the edge to the north. Make your way back out of the cave from the way you originally came in.
Head right and down to get back to the water. Jump in and swim right and up a screen. Take bridge thats at the bottom here and resurface. Head right, down two, left one, and then cross the bridge here. Another owl statue and another secret seashall can be dug up left of the statue. That should bring our total up to 19 seashells, 1 more to get to 20 so we can get out goal of leveling up our sword. Fortunately the 20th one is right next to our destination.
Make your way all the way back to the bridge that lead to Kanalet Castle. From there head right two, down two, left one, and up one. This is the Seashell Mansion, but before we go in head right a screen. Cut down the bushes and the one in the corner will contain the 20th seashell that we need. Grab it and then head back left and enter the Seashell Mansion.
| Walk to the right and the meter will fill up. After some nice cinema your new sword will fall to the ground. Grab it to get the Level 2 sword. The Level 2 sword is stronger than the original one and when Link has full power it will shoot a sword beem out. Now we are just about ready to take on the next dungeon.
|
Head right and jump off the cliff here. Get in the water and swim your way up the narrow river. Follow it around most the land until you are left of the Kanalet Castle. Swim so that you are at the bottom-left of the castle and dive under water against the wall at the bottom in the middle of the water. Look at the image for the exact spot where to dive. This should be your 8th heart piece which will give you another full heart.
You can't head right since the bridge blocks your way so swim all the way back to get back to Martha's Bay. Head to the center of the Bay and you will see a statue of a Catfish. Swim to the bottom-left and enter throught he narrow passage. Dive down against the rock and you will be under water. Swim through this small passage and you will come above the water on the inside of the rocks. Enter the fifth dungeon, Catfish's Maw.
Head left a room to find a couple of enemies. Kill or avoid them and just head left once again. A few more enemies in this room, including a Helmasaur. To defeat helmasaur you need to strike him in the back with your sword since he is not vulnerable from the front. Defeat all the enemies and the door to the left will open up, so head through it.
Two more helmasaurs in this room. Open the chest to get the Compass. Ditch the enemies and head down the steps. This underground passage looks a little tricky and yes it could be. There are two chained platforms here. When you step on one it will go down and the other will start to go up. You need to time it perfectly in order to get accross. Although in this first room all you need is the second chain to be relatively high since you can jump to it. The second room contains four of these chained platforms. The 1st and 3rd will act upo eachother, as will the 2nd and 4th. Just trial and error until you make your way accross. Head up the ladder.
Defeat the four stalfos that are found in this room and then clear the room of all the crystals. Push the two outer blocks in to form a square with the blocks. A key will drop down, head back down through the underground passage to get back tot he compass room. Defeat the twp helmasaurs and the door will open on the right. Head through it and then use the small key you got on the door above.
Avoid the enemies and head left. Defeat the two helmasaurs and head left through the door that opens up. Grab the bombs and defeat all the enemies in here and a chest will appear. Open it up to get the dungeons Stone Beak. Backtrack right two screens and head up a screen.
Defeat the three stalfos and head through the door that will open up. Talk to the Owl Statue here and it will give you some tips on fighting what is in the room above. It will say if you can't destroy a skeleton with your sword, try using a bomb. Head up a screen to fight the dungeon miniboss, Master Stalfos. You will face this boss several times within this dungeon. Strike him once with your sword and his bones will collapse to the floor. Place a bomb next to his bones. Repeat this process three times to defeat him. Be careful since he has quite a large shield and when its close to his body it will protect him. Once you is defeated head right a screen. If you open the chest, it will say that Master Stalfos has what is inside and if you want it, come and get it.
The bottom-right block here has a heart. You can grab it and then head down stairs and back up. Lift it again for another heart. You can repeat this until you have full health. Head up, push the block, and head left. Immediately head back right, push the block and head up. Once again turn around and head down. Step on the switch, push the block, and head right through the door. Master Stalfos is back again! Defeat him using the same process you did before, but this time it only takes two hits. He will run off once again, so head back left, push the block, and head up. Jump over the gap and head up and left. Defeat the two zols on this side of the room and lift the pot at the top left to find a third one. You can push the block left here. Defeat him and head up through the door that opens. Yet another fight with this punk. Head left once he is defeated. Defeat the enemies and open the chest to get the Dungeon Map!
Instead of back tracking, pull out the Ocarina and play Manbo's Mambo to get to the dungeon entrance. Head left three screens and go back down the steps again. Head through the underground passage and once back up to the main level head left to fight Master Stalfos one last time. Defeat once again, this time taking three bombs. He will leave behind a special prize, the Hookshot! Manbo's Mambo to get back to the entrance once again.
Head left two screens and then back right through the north passage. Hookshot over to the chest and get 200 rupees! Hookshot back left and head up a screen. Head left and defeat these enemies usuing your hookshot to open the door above. Head left and then hookshot accross this room. Hookshot to the chest and open it to get a small key. Grab the extra arrows and head back right two screens.
Use your hookshot on the bridge at the right of the screen and it will pull it back allowing Link to cross over. The jar here contains a fair, so grab it if you'd like and then head up a screen. Use your key on the block and head left a screen.
The true Mini-Boss of the dungeon is found in this room, Gohmas. Each will walk left and right shooting fireballs towards Link. Every once in awhile they will stop and there eye will open up. That is your chance to shoot an Arrow out at it. After certain hits they will do some different movements beforing giong back to their normal back and forth pattern. It takes three arrows to each Gohma to defeat them. A portal will appear in the center of the room after they have been defeated. Take the portal the entrance of the dungeon.
Head left two screens, then up three screens to get back to the first Master Stalfos room. Head right and up to get back to the block room. Push the block up and head left. Kill or avoid the enemies and head up again. Dive into the center of the deep water to find some more Mario enemy ripoffs. Make your way through this water passage to get back to the main level. Use your hookshot to pull the bridge. Walk over to the chest and open it to get the Nightmare Key. Now backtrack all the way to the room with the center block that you kept pushing.
Push it right and then head up a screen. Hooshot over to the chest and open it to get some more rupees. Head right a screen and hookshot your way to the chest here. Open it to get a small key. Hookshot back left a screen and then head up. Hookshot over to the chest and open it get some more rupees. Hookshot left and then head down two screens to get to the block room again. Push it down and then head either way before coming back to the room again. Push the block again and head down. Head down the stairs here and make your way through this water area.
Back on the main land head right a screen and defeat the three enemies here. Talk to the Owl Statue and he will give you a hint telling you to dive under where the torchlight beems cross. Anyway, head right two screens and push the block into the corner. Jump over the steps and unlock the block. Head around and hookshot to the block. Head left and use the Nightmare Key on the door. Enter to fight the boss of Catfish's Maw. The boss of this dungeon is, The Slime Eel. He actually makes a reference to the Wind Fish, so maybe the story is actually making a little sense. Anyway, his tail will break through the ground in the center of the room and he will break four holes in the corners of the room. Stand on either the left or right side of the screen. Have your hookshot equipped and if Slime Eel sticks its head out of either of the holes on your side, Hookshot it to pull it out a bit. Slice at it as many times as you can with your sword before it retreats. Repeat this over a few times to defeat Slime Eel. Watch out fo its tail that moves in a circular pattern in the center of the room.
After he is defeated, you will automatically get the heart container since it was connected to its body. Head up a screen.
Walk up the steps to get the fifth instrument, Wind Marimba. The screen will go white as usual and a short message appears...SHRINE... An island secret in the shrine... You will then appear outside of Catfish's Maw. Congratulations, only three more instruments to go!
