Once you are outside of Tail Cave head left a screen and the owl will be there waiting for you. He will tell you that the next instrument isto the North in the Goponga Swamp. Head up and make your way back to Maybe Village. You will be confronted by two kids jumping up and down. They will tell you that Moblins came to Bow Wow's house and did something bad. Head up a screen and then right a screen and you will see that Bow Wow is no longer there.
Head up two screens to get to the fishing pond. Pay 10 rupees to fish. There are five fish in the pond in total. The three small ones will give you five rupees a piece for catching them and the big ones will give you twenty rupees a piece. The large fish that is under where Link is will not only give some rupees but also a heart container. To catch a fish cast it by holding A. Once it is in the water press A to bring it in. Once it is close to a fish, it will grab onto it. Once a fish is on the hook press A and B rapidly and Link will bring in the fish.
After you are done fishing head down to Bow Wow's house. From there head right two screens to get to a field of bushes. The bush that is third from the right and second from the top contains the 1st secret seashell. Slash the bushes to grab it. You will come across a bunch of these as you progress through the game and they will help you get an item later in the game. Now on to save Bow Wow. Head left and make your way to the Mysterious Forest.
Navigate your way through the forest to get back where you got the Tail Key. Jump over the gap and head right three screens to exit the Forest. Jump over the gap and grab the Piece of Heart that is in the center of the holes. Jump north and head up a screen.
Continue this way and head right a screen. Enter the cave that is found here. A moblin will see you and say a few words to his buddies before charging at Link. Defeat the moblin and head up through the door that opens and you will be greeted with four more Moblins. Defeat them and head right through the door.
The Great Moblin is found in this room, but he honestly isn't really great. Equip your sword and shield. He will shoot quick spears out towards Link so just use your shield to block them off. He will shoot a view spears then he will attempt to run into Link. Simply move out of the way and the Great Moblin will stun himself by running into the wall. Strike him with your sword. Repeat this process for eight sword hits to defeat Great Moblin. Grab the fairy that is left as a reward and head right through the door.
Bow wow can be found here. Just walk towards the rock and it will say you have saved Bow Wow and it will now be attached to you. Back track outside of Moblins Cave. Head back to the Mysterious Forest. Head back to the Tail Cave key and head left a screen. Then head up to exit the Mysterious Forest. It is quite a lot of fun watching Bow Wow defeat some enemies on the way.
Head right two screens to enter the Goponga Swamp. If you read the sign here it will say to keep out, except for BowWow. Luckily we have Bow Wow on our side so just manuver through the swamp area and Bow Wow will take care of any enemies that are found here. There is a chest in the south-eastern area of the swamp that contains some rupees. Afterwards make your way to the north-eastern part of the Swampe and let Bow Wow eat away at the enemies that are blocking the entrance here in the swamp. Enter the cave to reach the second dungeon, Bottle Grotto.
Bottle Grotto is definately one of the easier dungeons in the game, although it is a tad harder than the previous dungeon. Don't mind the chest in the first room as you cannot get it just yet. Head up a screen.
The room is dark when you first enter so head straight up the steps in front of you and use your magic powder on the two torches to light up the room. The torches will open up the door on the right, so head through it.
There are two stalfos in this room. They are pretty easy to defeat using your sword. Once defeated a key will drop on the square block. Grab it and use it on the door at the bottom.
The enemy in here resembles another Mario Brothers foe. It also is similar to the Goryia's in A Link to the Past since it will mirror Links moves. These enemies are known as Mask-Mimics in this game and are only vulnerable at the back. Use the jars in the room try to get as close to this Mask-Mimic as possible and then turn so you are not facing him. Use a spin attack and it will defeat him immediately. A chest appears that contains the Compass. Grab it and exit the room. Head right a screen from here.
Hit the crystal switch in this room and the blocks below will lower so head down a room. Defeat the lone enemy in this room and then swing at the crystal switch to lower the blocks. Open the chest for a small key and head right a screen.
Pull out Roc's Feather and jump and grab the bag of magic powder. Then jump to the bottom-right corner and step on the switch here. A chest appears just above you so jump over and open it for another small key. Jump your way to the top platform and head up a screen.
Two more Mask-Mimic's in this room. Repeat the same method as before to eliminate these ones. A small key will drop down on the other side of the blocks on the left. Backtrack a few screens to get to the other side of the blocks and grab the small key. Use a small key on the door to the left.
Watch out for the traps in the corners of the room. Light the two torches in this room and defeat the two keese and the door above will unlock. Head through it and light the torches in this room. Swing your sword at the enemy across the gap to get him away from the edge allowing you to jump over. Swing your sword to hit the turtle like creature into the pit. Open the chest to get the Dungeons Stone Beak. Jump back across and head down a screen.
Head back right a screen and light the torches again to open the door at the right. Head through it and continue heading right another screen. You can talk to the Owl Statue here and he just explains to you about the raised blocks. Head down, right, up to get to the other side of those blocks again. Head right another one to get to a screen with two enemies. Use your shield on them to flip them over and then strike their backs. Defeat them and head through the locked door in the corner. The owl in the room will give you a hint on what to do. Push the blocks in the middle towards the middle and a staircase will open up on your right. Head down the stairs.
Equip Roc's Feather and make it across the two side scrolling screens. Head up the steps on the other hand and light the torch with some Magic Powder. If the bubble comes close to you and can jump over it with Roc's Feather. Jump to the center to grab the floating heart that will fill your health. Head through the one way door at the top to face the sub boss, Hinox. One of the easiest sub bosses in the game, Hinox has two main attacks. One is that after he is hit he will toss a bomb in Links direction. He will occasionally charge towards Link in an attempt to grab and throw Link. Both attacks are easy to avoid. Run up to him strike him with your sword once and run away while he tosses a bomb. Repeat this process eight times to defeat Hinox. A fairy will be left for you as well as a portal to the first room of the dungeon. Exit through the door at the right.
The owl statue will give you a hint on the order that you must defeat enemies in a later room. Jump over the holes and head through the door above. There are three keese in this room but the ball at the bottom-left will suck you towards it. Time the gravatational pull and make your way diagonally to the chest and open it for the Dungeon map. Head up through the door at the top.
Defeat the keese in here and open the chest for some rupees. Jump and grab the Magic Powder bag and then use a small key on the door at the left. There are two Ghinis in this room. Light the two torches and they will get scared off. You can strike them with your sword or just let them move off screen. Once they are gone a chest will appear at the right. Open it to get the Power Bracelet.
Head right a screen and lift the pots with your new Power Bracelet for some goodies and then head through the passage at the top-right. Walk towards the switch and hit it as you are holding right. The blocks will switch and the middle one will come down. Again hold right and hit the switch and now you will be on the far right side. Open the chest here for a small key. After opening the chest hit the switch once again but this time remain on the tall blocks and then head right a screen. Defeat the enemies here and then continue your way right. Defeat the four stalfos and the keese here and then head through the passage at the bottom.
You must defeat the enemies in this room in a specefic order as the owl statue stated earlier. To get to the Pols Voice in this room push the top-right block down and then push the other one to the left. Your sword will not affect Pols Voice so Lift a pot with the Power Bracelet and toss it towards the enemy to defeat it. After that simply kill the keese and then the Shrouded Stalfos. A chest will appear containing the Nightmare Key. Don't mind the passage at the top-left as it will just lead to a passage that we had passed up earliar in the dungeon. Instead head up and right through the locked door.
Defeat the three enemies in this room with the sword and by using the blocks and a staircase will appear at the top-right. Head down the steps to get to a side scrolling scene. Walk on the gray platform and it will move down. Head left a screen and you will see a similar gray platform here but this one is stronger and requires more strength to push down. So grab the pot at the bottom and step on the platform while holding the jar and it will push down. Head up the long stairs.
Jump over the holes and use the Nightmare Key to face off with the boss of Bottle Grotto. Genie is the Nightmare of this dungeon and he is quite a weird boss. The jar will bounce around the room and then Genie will come out of the bottle and throw fireballs around the room. He is vulnerable when the bottle is bouncing around the room so slice at it with your sword. After you hit it, it will stay still so grab it and toss it too hurt Genie.
After three tosses the bottle will break and Genie will come out. Now Link can use his sword to attack Genie. Just strike at him and another transparent will appear and they will spin in circles throwing fire at Link. After another seven hits Genie will be defeated.
Genie will leave a Heart Container behind so grab it and head through the door that opens up at the left.
Head up the stairs and grab your second instrument, the Conch Horn. A hint is given... Prarie... Prarie... The Prarie is waiting... Once you are outside walk right back into Bottle Grotto and you can lift the jars there and open the chest that was previously unreachable to get some extra rupees. That completes the second dungeon.
