Exit Kakariko Village the same way you entered. Continue on this path by heading down. Head right a screen, then up, and right one more so you are right by your house. You will notice a cave at the top left. Enter if you need some hearts. Continue by left a screen. You are now in the swamp. Move along the right wall until you reach a cave. Enter the cave and head to the next room. Bomb the bottom wall and go through. Open the chest to get a heart. Afterwords leave the cave.
From the cave, head left, you will see a platform. Make your way around it. There are three rocks on the platform. One is blocking your way to enter the Palace. Use your Book of Mudora on the sign in the middle to rotate the rocks.
