Unofficial Zelda Games
Back in the early 1990's, Nintendo had partnered with Sony to make a CD addon for the Super Nintendo. After canelling this project, Nintendo signed a deal with Phillips. They have given Phillips a license to produce a few Zelda games for their system, the CDi. Three games in total were created and to this day are seen as unofficial and not part of the true Zelda series.
Link : The Faces of Evil
Released in 1993, the Faces of Evil was the first of the unofficial Zelda series. The story starts out with Link feeling usuless with Hyrule being safe but not knowing that Ganon as yet again kidnapped Zelda and taken her to the far away land known as Koridai. A wizard soon informs Link about this and that with only the Book of Koridai can he defeat Ganon once more. Link then ventures to this island known as the Faces of Evil...The game uses a side-scrolling type gameplay that isn't nearly as defined when used in The Adenture of Link.

Zelda's Adventure
The follow up game, Zelda's Adventure was released in 1994. This game also stars Zelda, but this time in an overhead view. The story starts off saying that Link (ironically) has been kidnapped by Ganon. The game is set in a land called Tolemac (Camelot?) and Zelda begins her search to save Link and learn she must recover seven celestial signs before she can defeat the evil King and bring the land to an 'Age of Lightness'.
