  Spiritual Stones/Pendants Theory

There are many similarities between the three Pendants in "A Link to the Past" to the three Spiritual Stones in "Ocarina of Time". I have always wondered if there is a connection between them and believe there is. Below is what I have gathered up to prove my point.

First off, lets get to the obvious things that both have in common. Each Pendant/Spiritual Stone is colored red/green/blue. In A Link to the Past, these pendants are refered to as Power,Wisdom,Courage - Ocarina of Time, the Stones refers to as Fire,Water,Forest. Both are very much alike in color and purpose. Courage,Forest, green - Power,Fire, red - Wisdom,Water, blue. Each of these stones/pendants also seem to refer to parts of the Triforce, but I'll get to that another time. On to my next point.

Second, both the Pendants and Spiritual Stones are needed to obtain the Master Sword. In A Link to the Past you need to be able to lift the Master Sword out of the pedestal. While in Ocarina of Time you need them to open the Door of Time to access the Master Sword. So both of these some how have the same power and purpose once collected, coincidence?

Another similarity would be the actual resemblences. As noted above, all three stones/pendants are colored red/blue/green. But visual comparison would be the actual jewels used. In ALttP the jewels are incrested onto a gold pendant while the jewels in OoT are incrested onto some kind of gold symbol for each. Below I have visual screenshots for each.

The only differnce they may have is the actual locations where you obtained them. In LttP one pendant is located in the east-courage, one at Death Mountain-power, and one in the desert-wisdom. Yet in OoT, one stone in the Forest-forest, one at Death Mountain-fire, and one at Zora's Domain-water. Now here is my take on what happened.

Ocarina of Time occured first in the timeline so...after Link uses these Spiritual Stones they of-course rested at the Temple of Time. After many of decades and Link's demise someone must have been entrusted with these Stones and could have made them into Pendants to carry with them and keep safe (maybe Zelda?). The pendants soon find new homes lying inside of dungeons, where Link eventually journeys through. The only proof from A Link to the Past that the pendants are needed to free the Master Sword is the incryption on a stone (and ofcourse when Link may try to pull the Master Sword without them and then later achieves his goal when he obtains them). My point was, nothing else was known about the Pendants in the game.

My final theory on this is that both the three Pendants/Spiritual Stones are incarnations or counter parts of the Triforce itself. Much info shows that they infact could be. Think about it, the three Goddess that created Hyrule and the Triforce were of the colors red/blue/green, the Triforce's parts are red/blue/green, Pendants are red/blue/green, and the Spiritual Stones are red/blue/green. Each representing the same as well - Power=Red=the Earth, Wisdom=Blue=Divine Magic, and Courage=Green=Life. There is most definately a connection here. I shall get into it more detailed another time.

So, in conclusion I believe both these Pendants and Spiritual Stones are one in the same. They both have the same purpose, power, and are viusally alike.

This ends my theory on the Pendants/Spiritual Stones and if anyone has anything they want to add or even comment on it, feel free to give me an e-mail. - Chrono.
