: Hyrule/Islands and Link Outset/Ordon Theory :

I think Hyrule used to be the way it is in Twilight Princess, and then something happened and the mainland sank, but the islands surrounding it closed in overtop to form the Great Sea in WW. Link lived in Ordon until he was 3, but then, a few days before the kingdom sank, an evil entity (not Ganon) known as just "The Shadow" chased down his parents on the night Aryll as born and they were taken to Outset to live with their grandma. Then after Link met won in WW, Hyrule rose again, he moved to Ordon where he was born (though he doesn't really remember it) and didn't talk to Zelda for a few years.
The castle was reconstructed as it used to be.
