While we are still hard at work on our Spirit Tracks Walkthrough, there sure is a lot of other things going on within the online Zelda community in regards to Spirit Tracks. Our good friends at Zelda Power have launched their Spirit Tracks Music section at their site and it includes over 30 mp3 files from the game!

That’s not all on the music front. The guys over at Zelda Reorchestrated have released two orchestrations from Spirits Tracks. One being the Soundscape Redux from the Spirit Tracks Trailer and the other being the Aboda Village theme. Check them out below!

Spirit Tracks: New Content!
Posted on December 12th, 2009 in Spirit Tracks

We have several updated pieces of Spirit Tracks content available for you today. We are still working hard on our Spirit Tracks Walkthrough and chapter two has received quite an upgrade and is nearly complete. Chapter two of the walkthrough covers up through the Forest Temple. We’ve also recently completed a purely text format of our walkthrough and we have submitted it to various online gaming websites including GameFAQ’s.

Here at the site though, we have several other new or upgraded pieces of content. Our Spirit Tracks Boss Guide is now nearly complete with images for just about all the bosses. Additionally, our Spirit Tracks Enemy Guide has been updated with several higher quality images and the inclusion of more of the enemies found.

Lastly, we have a brand new piece of content in the Spirit Tracks Force Gems page at the site. There are 20 Force Gems in the game and each gem that you collect will restore a new section of the Spirit Tracks allowing you to reach hidden train stations, find new rabbits, and acquire new items and heart containers. This page is still a place holder page and we plan on improving on it over the coming weeks. Be sure to check back at Zelda Dungeon over the next few days as we continue to add fresh new Spirit Tracks content.

Spirit Tracks Enemy Artwork

While the staff here at Zelda Dungeon is still hard at work on our Spirit Tracks Walkthrough, there are a lot of other things going on here at the site and within the online Zelda community. A few weeks back I mentioned a project we were working on to gather as much fan artwork for the enemies within Spirit Tracks. After making the post, I’ve gotten over 15 submissions and many of them are now available in our Spirit Tracks Enemy Artwork Gallery!. One such piece can be seen on the right side, and it depicts a Bulblin Rider. Be sure to head on over to our gallery to see the rest of the images, where you can also post comments on each individual piece!

This gallery portion relaunches the Zelda Dungeon Fan Artwork section of the website. We are taking a different approach to fan artwork this time around, and we are focusing only on specific site related projects, rather than having open fan artwork. Other sites, such as North Castle and the popular deviantART already handle that pretty well. So we will be focusing on specific projects and our first one has already begun. Head on over to the Spirit Tracks Enemy Artwork Project to find out more information on how you can contribute!

That’s not all! While we here at Zelda Dungeon are in the midst of a Spirit Tracks craze, we aren’t the only ones in the community chugging out new Zelda material. Our friends over at Zelda Universe are working on a Walkthrough of their own for Spirit Tracks. Additionally, they just launched what will become a weekly Comics section at the site, which will feature comics about the Legend of Zelda series, as well as about specific members of their own fan community.

It surely is a good time to be a Zelda fan. Hope you all are enjoying Spirit Tracks! We’ll be updating many times over the weekend with the newest batch of Spirit Tracks content!

I’ve also put together a temporary page for all of the Spirits Tracks Stamp Stations. This is one of the collectible items found within Spirit Tracks. The guide includes all 20 locations, as well as the three prizes that Link can earn. Check back at Zelda Dungeon as we will be editing our Spirit Tracks content over the next few days!

Hey guys, today is the real big day for a lot of you. Spirit Tracks is officially out in all retailers in the United States, so head on over to your local game stores and pick up this amazing Zelda title.

Here at Zelda Dungeon we are still hard at work on our Spirit Tracks Walkthrough. Today we have added chapter 8 of the walkthrough, which covers the 4th temple, the Fire Temple. (not counting the Temple of Spirits).

Additionally, we’ve put up a placeholder page for all of the Heart Containers that you’ll find in the game. Much like Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks does not have pieces of heart, but rather, just full heart containers. Link starts with three hearts and can get all the way up to sixteen of them. Five of them are found after defeating the temples in the game, while the other eight are through mini-games and other quests. Stay tuned as we will be updating our Spirit Tracks Content all week here at Zelda Dungeon! Go out and enjoy Spirit Tracks!

We have been hard at work on our Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks Walkthrough for much of the past several days and we have several chapters available to you all. We have text chapters available for the first seven chapters of the walkthrough. This includes everything up to the third temple of the game, the Ocean Temple, as well as the journey through the Temple of Spirits for the 4th time.

However, our walkthrough pages are under heavy construction and they are going to be constantly updated over the next few weeks as we add more text, screenshots, proper formatting, as well as all the various side quests in the game. So stay tuned! The first chapter of our walkthrough is not quite complete, but it’s upwards around 80% complete. This is a short glimpse of what is to be expected by the time the long journey of writing the walkthrough is complete.

Spirit Tracks Scores 4.5 out of 5

More reviews of the Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks are starting to flow in and it is giving us a really good idea on what to expect from the game. This latest review from the guys at Just Push Play. Nothing at this point is going to seem outrageously new after reading a review, but its nice to see what other peoples perspectives of a game are. Here is a quick quote on what they had to say about the game.

The Legend of Zelda: The Spirit Tracks is a title that every Zelda fan should get. There is nothing ground breaking that players should be surprised about however. Fans that played Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass shouldn’t have a hard time playing through it. Navigating the train is indeed a fresh way to travel through the land of Hyrule, but anything besides that will have the same feel as when you played the two games. Nevertheless, The Legend of Zelda: The Spirit Tracks is a must get DS game for this holiday.

For the full review, click here.

Spirit Tracks is set to ship in just TWO DAYS! We are already hard at work here at Zelda Dungeon working on our Spirit Tracks Walkthrough and we should have the first chapter available right when the game hits store shelves! Be sure to check back soon!

The guys over at GameTrailers.com have released their video review for the Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. Unlike most recent gameplay videos and short trailers, this video has a TON of new clips of the game and shows off several new enemies and bosses, as well as a brand new item. There really is a chunk load of spoilers in this video, more so than any trailer or gameplay video that we’ve seen up until now. Spirit Tracks Scores 91%

With Spirit Tracks already shipped out to many reviewers, it’s no surprise that reviews are starting to flow in. The folks over at CVG gave their review and scored the game at a 91%. This is probably one of the more spoiler-free reviews that you will read, so if you want to know a bit about the game, but don’t want to be overly spoiled, this is the review for you. Quoted below is a small excerpt from the conclusion of their review.

Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks isn’t the refresh so many fans are calling for, but that task can be left for the next big boy Wii entry. Despite this – and the fact that it’s a little on the easy side, like Hourglass – this is still a stunning example of brilliant game design and you won’t find much better on any handheld.

Spirit Tracks is set to ship in just FIVE days. Be sure to check back at Zelda Dungeon, your Spirit Tracks Headquarters, as we will be providing a Spirit Tracks Walkthrough as quick as we can.

Spirit Tracks: Ten Minutes of Gameplay!

Mases

The Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks is starting to get shipped out to many game magazines and reviewers across the globe and thus, many gameplay videos and spoilers should be becoming available over the next several days. The guys at GoNintendo recently updated a ten minute clip of Spirit Tracks on their Youtube account and its embedded below. The portion of the game on display is near the beginning of the game within the Forest Sanctuary. It shows off some basic puzzle solving, a couple of enemies, and Link learning a song for his Spirit Flute. There isn’t anything overly new or much spoilers in this video, but it is nice to see more gameplay. Enemy crows can be seen in the video, so that makes yet another returning enemy in the game.

Eiji Aonuma: Modernization of the Zelda Series
Posted on November 30th, 2009 in Spirit Tracks
Mases

In another recent interview with Eiji Aonuma, the topic of modernization in the Legend of Zelda series had come up. With the Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks utilizing a train as its main form of transportation, one must ask themselves, where does it end? Guns? Planes? Space Travel?

Technology actually was not a major concern for us when we decided to use the train. In The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, the boat was the key mode of transportation. Now that Spirit Tracks takes place on land, we needed a new way for players to get around, and felt that the train offered the best sense of exploration and discovery. We don’t think it feels out of place in the game world. Trains are also a popular mode of transportation in Japan. My children and I still feel a great sense of adventure when we ride trains in Japan.

Regarding use of other forms in technology in the future, as long it adds to the overall game experience and is something we feel the player would enjoy, we wouldn’t be afraid to implement it. As a matter of fact, we have used the Hook Shot in several previous games, which would be considered a very modern type of technology, even by today’s standards.

I’m with Eiji on this one. I don’t think that added technology or modernization distracts gamers from the actual game… as long as it is implemented properly. I had no issue with the steam boat from Phantom Hourglass, as it just seemed to fit. I cannot seem to visualize the Legend of Zelda series using cars or guns, or anything overly modernized… but who knows. If you asked me five years ago I might have thought a steam boat and a train were crazy ideas.

Layout 18 – Isn’t It Beautiful?
Posted on November 29th, 2009 in Site News
Caleb

Hey guys! I’ve been a little quiet the past few months, and part of the reason for that is because we’re gearing up here at the site in preparation for the release of Spirit Tracks. That being said, here’s a brand new layout to snazzy up the site.

We changed several things behind the scenes, but the most notable change right off the bat is the left navigation, which now changes depending on which section of the site you are currently viewing. We did this for a couple reasons, but one of the advantages is that the popup menu that was previously on the left won’t get layered underneath the videos embedded on various pages. With the site moving more and more towards dynamic types of content, we need everything to be stable and not have stupid issues like that.

I’m really excited about some of the other features we’ve implemented with this layout as well, from various text colors and a wider content area for some pages to more dynamic maps and links, all geared to making the upcoming Spirit Tracks Walkthrough by far the coolest one we’ve done so far. The staff will be working together to pump it out as fast and as packed full as possible.

Finally, we’ve switched from CuteNews to WordPress for our updates. This allows us to have a commenting system for each individual post, without having to go to the forums. Since a majority of our visitors find us through search engines, it made sense to give them the ability to comment without having to sign up on our forums. Not that you SHOULDN’T sign up on our forums, mind you. ;)

And that’s it! I hope you all enjoy this one, I spent many hours working on it. And remember, we’re your source for Spirit Tracks content!

Artists Needed for Spirit Tracks!
Posted on November 27th, 2009 in Spirit Tracks
Mases

River Zora Enemy ArtworkThe lovely artwork you see to the left is actually fan artwork created by River Zora, a registered member at the ZeldaInformer message boards.

Back in early days of the Legend of Zelda series, official enemy artwork was widely available for the original Legend of Zelda and for the Adventure of Link. In fact, the artwork was right there inside of the very game manuals that the games shipped with. Additionally, several independent strategy guides, often times created their very own artwork for use in their publications. However, as the series progressed, official artwork and 3rd party artwork have become a much rarer occurrence.

With Phantom Hourglass, there were a few pieces of artwork for the bosses within the game, but barely any artwork for the actual enemies, and it seems this will continue with the Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks. This is where you can help!

If you are interested in creating fan artwork that will be featured right here at Zelda Dungeon, be used on pages at the website, and within the online Zelda community, then we can really use your help! All you have to do is check out our Spirit Tracks Enemies page, pick an enemy that you’d like to create artwork for… and go right ahead! You can post them at the Artwork Forum Thread, or e-mail me at mases26@gmail.com. ALL enemy fan artwork images will be posted here at Zelda Dungeon and proper credit will be given to all users who submit any material.

We already have a few images in the Artwork Forum Thread, but we have a long ways to go. You can still create artwork for an enemy, even if another user has already made one. I will still feature all artwork here at the site.

I look forward to all the unique and interesting artwork submissions that I will be seeing in the next few days!
