Outset Island Link Papercraft

KevFebruary 21st, 2014 by Kev

LinkI recently mentioned that there are far too many pieces of art by fans for us to cover all of them but occasionally something incredible is created that has to be talked about. Last time it was a cross-stitch map of Hyrule from A Link to the Past and this time it’s a papercraft model of Link from The Wind Waker in his Outset Island attire.

See some of the great pictures after the jump!

The model is absolutely amazing and I want one even more than I wanted the cross-stitch map of Hyrule. There are a few other pictures on the on the website so be sure to click on the source below and check them out.

What do you think of the model? What characters or enemies from the Zelda series would you like to see made this way? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.

Amazing! I couldn’t even choose a character that I would like to see like that, there are so many that I would like to see like that-Tetra/Zelda, Aryll, Impa, etc.

  • True

Amazing! I tried papercraft once……you can imagine how that turned out…what if somebody made a life sized BEN….I’d burn it.

  • Linkstorm

Real Life 3D modeling right there. I love polygons :3

  • Ghirahim

This is incredible, I just wonder how this person had the patience to do this, I’d be done after 1 minute, because I have no patience and I suck at crafts in general.

    • Linkstorm

Just look at animators on youtube, they must have tons of patience to do a model like this

    • Nikki

      Same here.

  • OcarinaPlayerOfTime

A bit off topic, but according to everybody on miiverse, MM3D was confirmed for E3. People can shutup now about a remake.

    • Linkstorm

It’s too bad I’m not going to play it :( I played majora’s mask on the wii, then saw the Ben Drowned video, and it was all over for me. I can’t even go back to that game or I’ll get nightmares.

      • TwiliTetra

Same with me… It really sucks because that was one of my favorite games…
But depending on how different it looks compared to the original, I might play it.

    • Ghirahim

Seriously? Well, I hope it was, because I’ve never played MM. But if it was confirmed and there is an article… the comment section will be hell.

Really! thats wonderful. unless its fake, because I’m not sure you can trust a lot of people on Miiverse.

  • http://gamextc.us/ XTC

Sure wish I had patience. That is a nice piece though.

  • http://theyoshifansite.webs.com/ YoshiFan101

how do people do this? I couldn’t do this if I had 100 years…

    • Unstoppable TEO

maybe it requires talent and time… i don’t have the first one haha

    • Essence Of The Triforce

Oh, so now you’re a dragon!

      • http://theyoshifansite.webs.com/ YoshiFan101

yup, I was getting sick of being a butterfly so I turned into a dragon!

        • Essence Of The Triforce

Ya never know what he might be next!

          • http://theyoshifansite.webs.com/ YoshiFan101

ya, probably a monkey or something like that.

          • Essence Of The Triforce

            Or an elephant.

    • Kieroni

Very… Very… Carefully. XD My Zelda took about 6 months of on and off… And that was with help.

  • Zelda101

In case you guys haven’t seen yet, there’s this really cool looking Skyrim mod of Oracle of Ages and it looks SLICK! The trailer music is pretty cool too :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZHCtzBdQdk&feature=youtu.be

    • hollander

Hyrule total war graphics, it looks really really cool,
also the way he killed enemies.
orcale of seasons would be nicer, but ages is also good.

    • Unstoppable TEO

Although i haven’t played OoA and i don’t know how it looks like, i have to say that this mod is pretty cool.

    • ZeldaFan70096

It looks kinds fake of what a Zelda game would look like.

  • Shootdatrupee!…

Hmm… He would have an awful lot of trouble in the first dungeon *cough*Dragon Roost*cough*fire…

  • hollander

It’s also pretty big for a 3d fan art.

  • Link58

I would love to see a Darmani 3da I bet it would be AWSOME!

  • Link Link58

    I meant art.

  • Essence Of The Triforce

  • Amber Evans

I would love to do this :)

  • ZeldaFan70096

    Looks… kinda hard.

  • DestroyerOfClockTown

I have neither the patience nor the skill to do this.

    • http://theyoshifansite.webs.com/ YoshiFan101

      same here haha

    • StationaryBomb

I would make tons of crafts but the laws of nature and other physics prevent me… I remember making paper mache in art class, I followed the directions exactly, and then it fell apart, and got an F… ITS NOT MY FAULT ITS THE WORLD!

      • Elliptical Catten

maybe if you turned into a Bombling the problem would be solved.

  • zombie_eat_flesh

    That’s so adorable.

    • Biggie

That profile pic goes perfectly with that comment.

  • http://www.RobotsAndComputers.com Derek Tombrello

I love doing papercraft models like this, but I think this one may be out of my league! lol

  • NiteHood

That is impressive. That must have taken forever to assemble.

  • Rowen

Now that it’s finished, I would paint it. It would brighten the colors, add some contrast to black and white and not to mention about fading the cruxes.

  • Biggie

Someone needs to make a Happy Mask Salesman one.

  • Colette

I just started papercraft a few weeks ago and I’m actually working on a goron! :D That’s really cool too though!
