Majora’s Memes – You Don’t Say?

KyleApril 30th, 2013 by Kyle

Welcome to Majora’s Memes, where we bring you memetic madness weekly!

Like scouring Hyrule Field for bushes that hopefully contain Rupees or bombs or arrows, we search the Internet for Zelda-related laughs. This week, I thought I’d try something different and do a post without user-contributed memes. Rest assured though, I saw the ones left last week and appreciate them. Some of them might even make it into next week, but I thought it would be good to stir things up a bit.

Our first post comes from serkan on Memecenter. Honestly, this meme could apply to a LOT of situations where Navi, or especially Fi is involved.

The second post of the week is also from Memecenter but was posted by yamiryuuzero. Pretty much speaks for itself if you sympathize with the post above.

I don’t think I’ve ever used the “Overly Attached Girlfriend” meme. Granted, it’s combined with the Christian Bale meme, but honestly it’s probably justifiable. This post was also on Memecenter courtesy of ademar666.

What a twist! Nintendo could probably use that as the premise of the story mode in the next Super Smash Bros.! emperorgeek9, you’re a genius! Wait…kinda already was done, wasn’t it? I mean yeah, it was Wario, but Bowser was involved!

This one from Gert is a twofer: pots, and the IGN reaction meme cleverly reversed.

And our final post of the week actually comes from Memebase! An anonymous poster posted this. I really like the fairy recent “Nope” meme. My roommates and I had something like it shortly before where we would say “40 years of no,” but “Nope” of course is more succinct. This was probably my first reaction to Peahats in Ocarina of Time, if only because my first exposure to them was the original Legend of Zelda, and I had no idea they could be that big.

That wraps it up for this week in Majora’s Memes! Stay classy Kakariko.

      Wow. That is so lame.

  • VikzeLink

Ahahaha! Perfect there on the Peahat! I had the same reaction the first time I played

  • LoZ Nerd

Lol, my reaction was more along the lines of, “AH, HELL NO!! *runs*” Those things surprised the crap outta me!! xD

    • VikzeLink

It’s kinda the same thing actually, the “Nope” just means that you keep all the emotions about it inside and just say nope

    • TripleForces1374

I remember being terrified of them for so long that I took the most direct path to wherever I had to go and avoided the field at all times. Of course, when I figured out how easy they were to kill, that’s all I did. SO MUCH LOOT!!!

    • SuperNintendoNigga

      I thought they were just some weird tree ;_;

  • oozy the wolf

smash bros could use a new story. but why bowser? having link and mario working together just is reusing ideas

  • npatoray24

i’ve recently got one of my friends to start playing OoT and when he saw those things he was like oh shit! lol that was priceless, but my favorite part of this weeks memes is the “stay classy kakariko”

  • itsameluigi1290

I liked all of them. The last one is so true. Before OoT I’d only played TWW, so when I saw that thing I was like, “Oh look, I wonder if I can get money out of that thing by shaking it” or something. Then it took away 2 and 3 quarters hearts from me ._.

    • Hyourinmaru

      It killed me XD.

  • zeldabosses

u usually expect rupees like that and then u brake the jars and….NOTHING!!! I went into a freakin cave for … nothing. i got a chest full of deku nuts in a dungeon. IS THIS A JOKE??!!

    • Lupine Hero

I once scoured the entire forest temple in TP before I found a single recovery heart. It was maddening, especially because I got about 100 rupees to add to my filled wallet.

  • zeldabosses

i had the peahat problem. tell me, if zelda gets kidnapped by bowser, wat does peach do?

    • Nehpets700

      Ganondorf gets her.

    • Sarah LinkWannaBe

She could be a dungeon buddy…

    • ceilingmaster87

She gets kidnapped by Antasma lol. :-)

      • ceilingmaster87

        *Avoids capture from Bowser.
*Gets kidnapped by new RPG villain.

  • Nehpets700

I know I’m in the extreme minority when I say this, but I kinda like Navi. Sure she’s a bit annoying but I suppose I’d rather have her than not. (But seriously Navi, we know its twisted)

    • Kyle

I don’t mind her that much either, but that’s the biggest instance where I’m like “Okay, you can shut up now.”

    • Shawn

She wasn’t vital to the story at all. She had no story herself or any real background info other than she was a forest fairy; her character as a companion to the protagonist compares very slim up to, say, Midna or Tael

    • Ilias

As a first-time OoT player, I’m not finding her that annoying. Coming from the Wii games, which forced hints and details down your throat, she’s not that bad. Plus she doesn’t tell me my batteries or hearts are low.

    • HeroofTime123

She was actually helpful the first time around plus to this day I ALWAYS forget to learn Saria’s song before going to Death Mountain so she still has to remind me to do that lol. And to be honest, it’s thanks to her that I learned the names of any of the major Zelda enemies.

  • zeldabosses

    her voice is annoying though.

  • zeldabosses

she’s kinda cute but she makes me SOOO mad, i wanna squeeze the sparkles out of her! :)

  • Doctor You

Majora’s Memes is the reason I check in at ZD every week. Keep ‘em coming, please! :)

  • Mseevers95

Oh Laina the things people make you say as OAG.

  • Merv?

This is one that I made a few days ago.

  • Fire and Ice Arrows

here’s one. or two. or more.

  • Emma Mix

Love the last one that’s totally me whenever I play OoT– I never learn….

  • Eldisano

The Zelda gets kidnapped by bowser one was originally by hiimdaisy and was used in a Metal Gear webcomic. The Zelda related text is editted in.

    • Kyle

Yeah, the comic became the template for a bunch of memes.

  • JeredenDonnar

I wonder why Hyrule feild is more dangerous as a child than as an adult. You know, with Ganondorf having taken over and all, you’d think there’d have been more monsters.

  • Roth

    I’m back!

This originally popped into my head in this thread.

  • shmuga9

    The last one, lol

  • Olimar

Last one is so true lol.
