Zelda Fanart Spotlight – UniqueLegend’s Theophany Project

KnowleeJanuary 5th, 2013 by Knowlee

Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on deviantART artist uniqueLegend‘s Theophany Project that the artist is currently undertaking. So far the artist has finished two of the ten artworks that they are planning on creating. Each artwork will showcase a scene that takes place from each track of Theophany’s Time’s End: Majora’s Mask album. The two artworks that are currently finished each depict a scene from the album’s first two tracks: Majora’s Mask and Clockworks. She is currently working on the third one that will depict a scene from the third track from the album: Terrible Fate.

(Artwork for ‘The Clockworks’ track)

So far these artworks look really awesome and I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the series. Looking at them makes me want to go back and play the game once more. These scenes also bring back memories of my first playthrough on the game. This game was different from what I was typically expecting from a Zelda game and from my first impression of it, I got hooked immediately!

The artist has other Zelda-related fanarts located in their gallery. Please go take a look at them and let them know what you think of this project. Also please let us know in the comments section below!

Stay tuned for the next Zelda Fanart Spotlight! Until then!

I love uniqe legend, my last few desktop images are by him. and this work is as incredible as always.

      UniqueLegend is a girl :)

  • Kabro006

i like the mirror effect in the first one with human and deku link.

  • Madison R.

The second one looks like that fake Majora’s Mask for Wii U trailer… It has that same art style.

    • Emma Mix

I just watched the trailer (after seeing the art) and immediately thought of that piece. Either way, one of them was a copycat.

  • Tehlul

I like the reflection of Deku Link and Majoras Mask in the water.

    • Emma Mix

      I saw that too :)

  • Skull Kid

Any one else see someon on top of the balcony in the second picture?

    • Hero of Time

      I do.

      • Cmaster

        IiiiTTT’SSS TTTIIIINNNNNGGGGLLLLEEE!!!!!

        • Hero of Time

          Tingle’s watching…..Always watching..

    • LinkFan

I’m assuming it’s the Happy Mask Salesman

      • Skull Kid

well it’s a bit too small to be him… It could be like the link statue (Ben) but thats just a thought.

        • http://lulles.deviantart.com/ lulles

          Perspective ;) He’s far, so he’s smaller.

          • Emma Mix

Yeup. It’s DEFINITELY the Happy Mask Salesman… Or should I say the CREEPY Mask Salesman???

          • http://lulles.deviantart.com/ lulles

            lol haha

  • Cmaster

these are some of my favorite moments in MM. It gives you a feeling of worry and confusion, like “woah, Link isn’t invincible, he has been cursed by an unbeatable foe. Hows he going to get out of this one?”

    Great work

  • Cmaster

I’m not totally convinced that this is real but check this MM video out if you haven’t seen it.

    • http://medlismessages.blogspot.com/ Heroine of Time

Unfortunately, that was proven fake a while back. Plus, if you read the description of that video, it says “This is only a Fantrailer, not an official Game.”

It’s a really great fan creation, though.

      • DeaderHand

A pity… It’s a pretty dang good for a fan made trailer though.

    • Emma Mix

While a Wii U remake of MM would be pretty epic, the trailer is obviously fanmade. There are still some details that are obviously rough around the edges, and the trailer lacks proper copyright material in the opening and the same style orchestrated Zelda music that most Zelda trailers have. A real trailer would be a lot longer, have more intense music and try to draw in new players as well as old ones. This trailer is more like a lost hope for old players.

However, maybe it’ll give Nintendo some ideas… *wink*

I can’t wait to see the rest of the series! UniqueLegend is an amazing artist :]

    • Emma Mix

Totally. I’ve looked through some more of his works and he’s really talented! (Just saying “he” and “his” because I’m assuming he’s a guy…?)

      • http://lulles.deviantart.com/ lulles

It’s a girl xD It says “female” right under her username.

        • Emma Mix

          Wooooow, lol…

          Thanks, and sorry!

  • Emma Mix

Both pieces are really nice! The shadows really match the MM game artwork, and the placement of everything is perfect. The detail is impeccable and both pieces capture a wide variety of color, texture and depth. Wonderful!

I’m not sure if you all noticed this, I’m sure some of you did, but take a closer look at the reflection in the water of the first piece. Notice anything? Amazing detail– it’s Majora’s Mask!

  • DeaderHand

Can’t wait to see the rest of them .

  • Emma Mix

“The Legend of Zelda: Return to Termina”

    Just imagine the possibilities.

I don’t understand why Majora’s Mask is so popular on this site. Out of the Console-based Zelda games it only ranks above The Adventure of Link…but at least I’ve had the patients to play AoL more than once. Majora’s Mask is so frustrating because there is too much to keep track of and too much time spent playing what equate to as side quests in all the rest of the games.

  • Jacob Tasiemski

It looks like there is a Dark Deku Link on the balcony

  • rulerofyourface

These pieces are incredible, fantastic job!
