Zelda Fanart Spotlight – Ganon

KnowleeJanuary 12th, 2013 by Knowlee

Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on deviantART artist ItsOver900O‘s Twilight Princess fanart of Ganon. Ganon is up and ready to fight Link to obtain what he believes is rightfully his: the kingdom of Hyrule. Surrounding him is some of the ruins of the throne room’s pillars that he has knocked over in his many attempts to ram into our beloved Hero. Even though he has missed many times, Ganon will certainly not give up that easily…

Link better keep on his toes to make sure this beast doesn’t run him over!

I love the level of detail shown in this picture. It helps to intensify how powerful Ganon truly is and even though at this stage of the battle he is a crazed beast he is still a threat that needs to be dealt with immediately.

The artist has other pieces of artwork located in their gallery. Please go take a look and let them know what you thought of this piece. Also please let us know in the comments section below!

Stay tuned for the next Zelda Fanart Spotlight! Until then!

Very nicely done, although Ganon’s front leg looks kinda weird…

    • linkypete

yeah, what’s with that tight spot in his leg?

  • Lupine Hero

This battle was so awesome, yet, at the same time, such a disappointment. Much like many of Twilight Princess’s bosses. However, in Stephonika W. Kaye’s TP novel, this battle was incredible, with the sheer strength he showed in the game being combined with unnatural speed, making him a major threat to Link and Midna. I won’t say anything else, though, to avoid spoilers.

Well, it wasn’t supposed to be the final boss. If it was, I’d be dissapointed. However, it was only ONE part in the entire string of final bosses, all of them being Ganondorf. TP was my first game, and I can’t tell you how many times I died before learning that you must turn unto wolf form in order to finish him off. He was not too difficult, but definitly not too easy.

I used Wolf form the entire time to stop him, then switched to Hylian form to attack him, since I wasn’t sure if the Master Sword’s upgraded attack was carried over to the Wolf form’s fangs.

        • The Hylian Monolith

I only used wolf form when Midna told me to. It took two blue potions, and I almost died anyway. Woo, Ganondorf got killed on six hearts! Actually, it was one and a half when he finally died…

It’s all so unintuitive. Beast Ganon is a tricky Ordon goat/goron, and Ganondorf is quite literally a fancy darknut. His walk, his parry, his reaction when he’s hurt, etcetera. I was taunting him about this the entire time.

I only used the wolf form on Beast Ganon. But to stop him in his human form, I just took out the fishing pole. -Shakes head- It’s sad really, I mean, the biggest threat to Hyrule can pretty much be taken down by a painted wooden pole….

Not to be out of the blue or anything, but is your username in reference to the BEST anime/manga ever, Soul Eater???

          • Dr_Stein

Mmm-hmm, he has to be my favorite character besides Crona. ^_^

          • Emma Mix

He’s definitely my second favorite character. Although I have to admit that I’m seriously in LOVE with Kid.

          • Dr_Stein

I love Kid. Maybe it’s because I love symmetry as well.

          • Emma Mix

OH yeah, I’m like a female Kid. I totally wanna marry him :P

          • The Hylian Monolith

            REALLY?!? *beat him again* Whoa…

really? i found this boss too easy. only took me twenty minutes and one try to beat. then again ive been playing zelda for about 16 years.

  • Cmaster

Oh, this picture brings back so many memories.

  • baileygirl99

    Wow,that’s really cool!!!

  • Emma Mix

Love this! I love the white outline contrasting the usually shadowy art style in TP– an art style that most artists copy when making TP fan art, but this artist brought a contrast into this piece. I simply LOVE the detail and the light in the background. A cool addition would be some silver blood dripping onto his shadow on the ground from his wound. Love it!

  • Mseevers95

Why completely destroy Ganon? Just kill him and you could feed all of Hyrule for about 6 months on Ganon Bacon, Ganon Burgers, Breaded Ganon Strips, Ganon Back Ribs, and Deep Fried Ganon on a Stick.

    • Azmith

Served with a side of Ganon-Q_sauce

  • thelinkmaster001

    holy…

  • Silver Arrowz

    worst. final boss. ever.

    • The Hylian Monolith

This guy wasn’t the final. You should know that.

  • GanonsBaker

Can we agree tha OoT’s Ganon design ( not ganondorf ) was the best one of the series? if not, whats yours

  • itsameluigi1290

I ran out of arrows during this fight ;_; (At least I had the Ball and Chain)

  • npatoray24
