TimothyJanuary 3rd, 2013 by Timothy

The release of the much anticipated Legend of Zelda guidebook–Hyrule Historia–is only a mere three weeks away and the countless number of fans who have preordered their copy must be glad the wait is almost over! Here in Australia, Hyrule Historia is only limited to certain online bookstores yet we do know that EB Games is also offering preorders to be placed if you want to have your copy on launch day. Hyrule Historia will be released in Australia on January 24th happening to be five days before North Americans receive their copy and is available from EB Games online or in store.

If you’re interested in finding out more about EB Games’ listing for Hyrule Historia then hit the jump!

EB Games is pricing Hyrule Historia in Australia for $48 which may seem expensive but in this great country our incomes are generally higher. For those who have not a read a description for Hyrule Historia one is provided below:

“Dark Horse Books and Nintendo team up to bring you The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, containing an unparalleled collection of historical information on The Legend of Zelda franchise. This handsome hardcover contains never-before-seen concept art, the full history of Hyrule, the official chronology of the games, and much more! Starting with an insightful introduction by the legendary producer and video-game designer of Donkey Kong, Mario, and The Legend of Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto, this book is crammed full of information about the storied history of Link’s adventures from the creators themselves! As a bonus, The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia includes an exclusive comic by the foremost creator of The Legend of Zelda manga – Akira Himekawa!”

For those in Australia who want to pick up their copy of Hyrule Historia on launch day then this would probably seem like a fair deal. The other option would just be to import a copy from Amazon and reap the benefits of the Aussie dollar being much stronger than the US’ at the moment. It’s good to know there is a store in Australia stocking Hyrule Historia for those who do not like to purchase online and want their copy on launch day.

Shameless self-advertising…. A “first” comment would have been better.

I can’t wait until this comes out!

Sick, I preordered mine last month at eb (unfortunetely not my local one since my local one is dodgy ^^;) and I can’t wait for it to come out :D I just wish it didn’t have to come out at the END of a 2 month long summer holiday *sigh*

    • Link_The_Ultimate_Chronomancer

Summer in January… You guys are lucky. You get all the time between all the holidays off forever, too… And during our summer break we get bored -_-

The land of the penal colonies and wallabies gets this book now,
    Yeah.

There are several countries that fit this description, actually.

P,S Aren’t we known for ‘kangaroos’ rather than wallabies?

How nice for the fans in Australia!
I hope it also comes to Europe, other wise it’s bad luck for me ;(

I know the writer of this sounds as if they are Australian, but this sort of piece really isn’t worth reporting on. Your average person will walk away under the impression that we’re an extremely deprived country who doesn’t get very much in terms of Zelda and other gamer/geek goodies, and that simply isn’t true. I can name several other Australian retailers that have had this available to pre-order WEEKS ago- and yes, you would have been able to buy it in-store.

I reiterate- to most Australian Zelda fans (and anyone in general, really), this isn’t news…

Name them. As far as I’m aware, EB Games is the only store to be accepting preorders, the only other Aussie store I’ve heard of is some Japanese retailer that is accepting phone calls or something. I’d like to know if there are others. Although EB has been accepting preorders for a while now.

Gametraders, for one. That’s who I pre-ordered mine from.

        • Doom636

I can’t find it on their website. And I’ve Googled Hyrule Historia Australia, it still only comes up with those two.

This is definitely news because the average Aussie would not expect EB to stock such an exclusive product. I wrote this being Australian knowing that the US selection for Hyrule Historia is much greater than here. Please name Australian retailers which are stocking this if your point is to become valid :)
