Nintendo Bringing Back the Golden Nunchuk to North America Once Again

TimothyNovember 22nd, 2012 by Timothy

Over the past year, the ever-popular Golden Nunchuk has been up for purchase in exchange for coins on Club Nintendo in North America. Unfortunately, the item is usually placed in a strictly-limited fashion which does not help when demand is extra intense and plenty of seekers are left empty-handed thinking it will never become available again.

Thankfully, there is good news! Nintendo of America has confirmed via Twitter that the Golden Nunchuk will be ready again for purchasing next week and should come as excellent news to those still waiting to gain hold of one.

More details including the cost and date of re-release for the Golden Nunchuk after the jump!

For those who don’t have access to Twitter, here is the message Nintendo of America has sent to its followers.

“Ready for an encore? The Gold Nunchuk returns to #ClubNintendo on 11/26. Limited quantity.”

Yes, it is coming back on the 26th of November and will be shipping in limited quantities. Nintendo of America has also given the following details regarding the Golden Nunchuk:

“Put the golden touch in to your Wii gaming sessions with this gold-colored* Nunchuk accessory. If you’ve got a gold Wii Remote Plus controller from the limited edition bundle of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword at home, be sure not to miss this special reward. Limited quantity available.

* The gold controller will simply be gold in color and will not contain any actual precious metals.

Note:

The purchase is subject to the Terms and Conditions.”
As the description states, this is the perfect opportunity to gain a matching controller piece for those who have already acquired the brilliant Skyward Sword Gold Wii Remote. Remember, if you want one, be ready on Monday, November 26th, be sure you have 900 spare coins available, and quickly purchase it via Club Nintendo. This is something you do not want to miss out on again!

Will you be purchasing this spectacular Golden Nunchuk? If you already have one, would you recommend sparing 900 coins to purchase it? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

I need 370 more coins before I can get this. Hopefully I can get enough so I can finally get this.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steve-Thompson/100000355411389 Steve Thompson

I only need 50. And it WILL sell out before I can get it.

    • Brandikins11

I would go through your old games and check for Club Nintendo PINs or ask friends to look through their’s…you still have 24 hours before it becomes available.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steve-Thompson/100000355411389 Steve Thompson

Not a bad idea. But the first thing I do when I get a new game is input the club nintendo pass so that is out. I decided to make a plea on facebook and see if it gets answered. Sigh.

        • Brandikins11

I have 1040 but I wish I could send you 50. Waiting for three months is bad enough, but watching it sell out again right before you have enough must be torture. Just ask any of your friends that you know that have Nintendo games, and double-check that all of your old ones are already used up.

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steve-Thompson/100000355411389 Steve Thompson

A friend gave me a ds code he didn’t use so now I’m only 20 away. And yes it is torture.

  • Zed

900 coins…I’m 340 coins short. I’d have to buy 2 consoles worth of stuff before I can get this controller :( this sucks.

    • Link_The_Ultimate_Chronomancer

Or go to GameStop and pull the codes out of used games. I asked the people at my GameStop, and they are okay with it. That’s how I got OVER 1000!

      • Ilyaa

Holy shit seriously. I need to do this. Fuck tomorrow’s black friday though. UGHH.

      • guest

2 likes? Wow. This seems wrong to me. Somebody else might actually, you know, buy the used game. They might just shrug off the code as being entered by the original owner, but not somebody going around just pulling codes in store.

        • Link_The_Ultimate_Chronomancer

Except that the GameStop staff said I could…

  • Darkgreyfire

I like to play Zelda with the gold controller and a red nunchuk. They don’t match, so it makes me feel like I’m being naughty.

    • Santa

Naughty naughty. I’m giving you coal this year.

  • Hylia

I wish they’d lower the price.

    • littlemissgleek

You have no idea how good you guys have got it. In Australia, we had to pay 1,500 playcoins for a skyward sword POSTER set! They literally give you 200 coins per game, pretty shit if you ask me. And we have hardly any good stuff either, no gold nunchuck, no downloads, no nothing
Then again, Australia sucks at times -_-“

      • Link_The_Ultimate_Chronomancer

That’s the same price we got it for in the US. We get 50 coins per game, and it was 400 coins. We hardly have any good stuff either; that stuff goes to Japan.

i ‘ve got mine and i live in australia too, doesnt sound ebay to you?

    • http://www.controlpaddesign.com/ TheMaverickk

If they lowered the price you know how much faster they would sell out?

Not to mention those with lots of coin would simply buy more of them.

  • Pickleslkw

    Christmas gift!!

  • http://medlismessages.blogspot.com/ Heroine of Time

    FINALLY.

I’ve had these 900 coins saved up since they last removed the gold nunchuck. I raised enough coins the day AFTER they got rid of it. I was so frustrated – but the news that it would eventually return placated me for the moment. So I’ve been bidding my time, awaiting its return, checking the Club Nintendo page every week or so to make sure it didn’t come back…

I’m excited to get my nunchuck, at long last. :P Hopefully they won’t sell out before I can get one…

    • Brandikins11

Same here…but my three months of waiting finally paid off. I was about to give up hope that it would return, but then it did.

    • Demise

I just wanted to ask, does anyone know anythign abotu Europe? If it’s availible even in North America now, but still not in Europe, I’m just gonna start hating Nintendo instead of Link from now on.

  • baileygirl99

    Yay! I must have one!!!!

  • Sebastian

I’ve got the golden wii remote, and would like this… however, I’m in mexico, and club nintendo dosen’t allow mexicans… :(

    • christburner

      BAAHHAHAHA!!! .

  • Linkfan99

    WELL THAT’S SWELL!

  • http://www.facebook.com/hikari.no.vikki Victoria Courtemanche

I don’t have a gold wiimote, but I do have a black one, and black and gold look okay with each other. I might part with 900 points if I have that much. (I’d have to check and see…)

  • jimmy.f27

    Australia please?

  • jamsie1994

Why in the world would they not bring it out to other countries?

  • itsameluigi1290

    I don’t need it… I don’t need it…

    I NEEEED IIIIIT!!!

“The gold controller will simply be gold in color and will not contain any actual precious metals”

This worries me because if it is openly stated, it means someone, somewhere around the world, might have thought this was real gold. And the result of this deduction (or is it an induction?) is disturbingly uncanny.

  • TheFrostDragon

I’d buy it. Now, to buy a bunch of games and get 900 coins.

  • GOROHUG!!!!!!!!!!

    Dear Club Nintendo,

We want this thing in Europe too.

    Sincerely,
A rather large part of the world population

    • Demise

      I sign.

      • Demise

Woops, I forgot to sign in!

  • bob

    why no golden wire

    • guest

Geez, just spray paint it gold or something.

      • Never

        That doesn’t answer the question.
Though I actually like the white cable.

        • Brandikins11

The white cable matches small parts of the Zelda remote if you have it.

  • Solo

Hopefully the people who already got one aren’t able to get another one and let us people who didn’t get the nunchuck a chance to get it.

  • http://www.controlpaddesign.com/ TheMaverickk

I’m tempted to purchase a second one with all the coins I have. Simply because they are so limited.

I’d love to have a second set of gold controllers. Mind you I’ll probably let it slide so other people have a chance at it. Maybe they can bring over the Super Famicom controllers though for once. I’d spend my coin on that instantly.

  • Brandikins11

I have waited three long months to get this to make it match my gold wii remote…I’m ordering mine Monday ASAP.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steve-Thompson/100000355411389 Steve Thompson

Now I’m only 20 coins away. First world problem and all………….. But damn my luck.

  • http://www.facebook.com/taran.todd Taran Todd

Super excited! Virtually free, color coordinated controller! I’ve needed a new one for a while now.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Steve-Thompson/100000355411389 Steve Thompson

Finally have enough for the nunchuck. Have no idea when it will go live though. I’d hate to stay up and refresh that all the damn time.

  • Ludicobro

will it come back..? :( i was 40 coins short then it sold out…
