New Battle Quest Videos Reveal Interesting Details

KyleNovember 11th, 2012 by Kyle

With the WiiU launching just a week from now, along with Nintendo Land, excitement is understandably ramping up. Not surprisingly, some new details are still coming out, and will continue to as the game is released. GoNintendo poster RawmeatCowboy celebrated the occasion of updating his video capture equipment by taking some new videos of The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest attraction from Nintendo Land. Due to guidelines from Nintendo, each video is only 30 seconds long, but they still manage to bring attention to some interesting things. Check ‘em out after the jump.

Here we can see that one of the locations visited in the mini-game is based off of either the Earth Temple, or the Fire Sanctuary, both from Skyward Sword. We’ve known for a while that Battle Quest takes some visual cues from Skyward Sword, but to see locations so heavily referencing an area from a particular Zelda title is new.

In the third video, we can also see that the Triforce is obtainable. Again, this has been known for a while, but what I find interesting is that it’s a Moblin who’s in possession of it. Is it important? Probably not considering this is just a mini-game designed to pay tribute to some of the most important aspects of the Zelda series.

Nintendo Land launches alongside the Wii U in seven days! Let us know what you think in the comments!

        • Zelda is the Bomb!!!

Ewww I dont want ice cream that been on the floor!!!!!!!

      • Zelda is the Bomb!!!

What does the Lord of the Dead have to do with this? :/

  • zombie_eat_flesh

Okay, now I NEED to play this.

  • zeldafreak

    It looks pretty fun!

  • Anon

Seems pretty generic to me. Color me unimpressed.

    • zombie_eat_flesh

Well, it’s a mini-game. It’s supposed to be a start on what Nintendo can do on the Wii U.

    • Linkfan99

I’d much rather color you purple.

    • MasterOfSwords1

What shade of unimpressed do you prefer?

  • Rob

    I can’t wait for the 18th!

    • daver

This week will be the hardest to wait.

      • Link-of-Lylat

It already was for Sticker Star, and now this!?

        • zombie_eat_flesh

It’s like Super Mario 3D Land coming out a week before Skyward Sword last year.

  • Nikki

It does look fun! However, I have to wait to get the Wii U and the Nintendo Land Game. It’s not team oriented, is it? If it is, that’s going to be really difficult for me to play then.

    • e. e. story

There are three types of “attractions” in Nintendo Land. Team, Competitive, and Solo. Solo attractions are, as there name suggests, built only for one person. Competitive attractions are the opposite, being designed for player-vs.-player competition and thus are multiplayer exclusive. Team attractions are meant for co-operative play, but because they are player-vs.-computer, they do have single player options as well (Zelda Battle Quest is one of these types of attractions). There are 3 team, 3 competitive, and 6 solo attractions. So, even without additional players, you can still play 9 of the games, and enjoy 6 to their fullest potential.

      • Nikki

Thanks! I knew that there were three types of “attractions”. I didn’t know that the team attractions had single player options too. I’m glad that it does! I’ll get it and the Wii U when they are in “stock” and when I have the money to do so.

  • MasterOfSwords1

Notice how this is a “Party Attraction”, but he’s the only one playing…

    • zombie_eat_flesh

It’s 1-5 players. Same with Pikmin Adventure and Metroid Blast.

      • MasterOfSwords1

I know, I mean he’s alone… Some party he’s having. The sad part is, that will be me most of the time.

  • faror

it looks cool but i dont know if i would want to buy the wiiU just to play this. but skyward sword with the wii motion plus had the right idea that was fun!!!!!!

  • faror

are they going to remake any Zelda games for the wiiU like they did for the 3DS????

    • baileygirl99

Probably not, but they are probably going to put some virtual console games on there.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jordan.dipalma Jordan DiPalma

Not likely. Rumors have been tossed around, but thus far it doesn’t seem like much of a possibility. On the bright side, all five Zelda games from the Wii’s Virtual Console will be available on the Wii U. They’ve hinted at GameCube games for the VC as well so Wind Waker could make it.

  • IMFWeirdo

This actually looks pretty fun! Though I’ll wait until an actual Zelda game is announced before I consider buying a Wii U.

  • The Hylian Monolith

The music is catchy, and I think it’s intersting that it feels Zelda inspired, but gives off a vibe that sound more Mii-like. Although I don’t see why teh entire Triforce was in one place. I won’t be getting the WiiU, so I won’t play this anyway :(
And I bring up teh music. Bleh. Music is a big deal to me, though, especially if I can’t really do the rest of the experience. Well, have fun with Ninetendoland, and crush Moblins for me, strangers. One or two.

    • Ganon’s Baker

why u no get wii u?

      • http://www.facebook.com/jordan.dipalma Jordan DiPalma

Probably because it’s pretty dang expensive and it doesn’t have too many big hits announced yet. I’m sure the Monolith is waiting for a price drop, Zelda Wii U, or both.

        • zombie_eat_flesh

I don’t care, I’m still buying one launch day.

        • The Hylian Monolith

I’m waiting for both, and 300 bucks that aren’t part of my PFD. And for my brother to get old enough to hold the game controller so he can play OoT ;) If I’m not the only fan in my family, I probably have a better chance of playing Zelda WiiU.

      • The Hylian Monolith

Because I’m 12 years old and can’t afford it.Not that my family couldn’t, but I’m the only gamer in the house.

  • The Hylian Monolith

Actually, I found another video, and it may be inspired by the Earth Temple, but that one’s the Forest Temple! Cool huh?

  • itsameluigi1290

I wonder if there’ll be Wind Waker stuff? I DID see a WW Chu Chu.

  • A_LINK_IN_TIME

Always nice to see some fun side games. A great way to reminisce Nintendo’s past moving into an HD future.

  • baileygirl99

It’s funny how it gives your Mii blonde hair instead of keeping it regular. Unless that Mii’s hair just happened to be blonde.
I want this game. And thw Wii U. Sooooooo bad. :-( $350? In my dreams

    • baileygirl99

      *the

  • The Murph

Zelda is the only reason I get the Wii over XBOX 360, as its my favorite game i wish zelda wasn’t nintendo exclusive, or i would never even consider the Wii, because tbh, other than zelda, the games really sucks, no Gears of War, Halo, it has COD, but the gameplay and graphics suck :/

    • http://www.facebook.com/jordan.dipalma Jordan DiPalma

You should check out the Metroid Prime Trilogy. It’s expensive nowadays, and it’s a bit slower paced than CoD and Halo, but it’s an excellent FPS with some very entertaining puzzle elements that should appeal to your Zelda fanhood. You can just check out Metroid Prime: Corruption if you’d like; it’s hardly $10 at GameStop, but you’ll be missing the other two games in the series and they’re all phenomenal.
There’s also The Conduit, which isn’t bad if you’re really itching for some good FPS action on your Wii… though it’s still no Halo. Red Steel 2 isn’t bad either; it’s a mix of guns and swords and doesn’t suck like the first one did.

Some other great games for the Wii include Sin and Punishment: Star Successor, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Super Smash Brothers Brawl (best if played with GameCube or Classic controllers… and friends), Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, and Xenoblade Chronicles. Check out some gameplay on YouTube and see if they appeal to you :)

The Wii may not have nearly the library the PS3 and 360 have, but it has its own exclusives that are all pretty great… once you cut through the shovelware that makes up 99% of the game. Hope you enjoy some of my suggestions :)

      • The Murph

First of all I should take back how the games suck, it’s not necessarily that they suck, it’s more of the fact that they don’t develop with new games, they focus way to much on what they make exclusively and that only, and i know they do this to make it more of something that everyone can enjoy, but that is where the problem kind of lies. But you are right about metroid, i completely forgot about that, that is a great game, but with games like SSBB, there isn’t really any story in it, it’s really just free for all combat, no like plot like zelda, no epicness, and im not a huge fan of donkey kong. I don’t know, that’s just me though

        • Zelda is the Bomb!!!

SSBB does too have a story! Go on Solo Mode then pick the Subspace Emissiary!!!!!!! There! A story!!! HA!!!!HA HA!!!! HA!!!!!

          • The Murph

i didn’t know that, i’ll be honest, I actually just began getting into games like a year and a half ago, and the most recent console i have is the gamecube, which i got back in 2003 or 2004, and the last time i played SSB was on the N64, and that didn’t have a story line, just free for all against other players or computers

    • pokeninja183

I’m sorry does that mean you hate SSBB, No more heroes, Tasunoko vs Capcom, Metroid Prime, Mario kart, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 and many others. Then this means you like the same game shoved up your ass! *Cough* Madden COD *Cough*

      • The Murph

        read the above response

  • schmorgyborgy

This is so cool! Only seven more days! :D

  • tri wizard

i was at the early play convention

  • daver

don’t show too much. We want surprise.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jordan.dipalma Jordan DiPalma

You don’t have to click the videos ;)

  • The Dark Lord Demise

    You got the Triforce!

    • Zelda is the Bomb!!!

OH NO DEMISE GOT THE TRIFORCE!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE ALL DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!! D:

  • http://www.facebook.com/jordan.dipalma Jordan DiPalma

I haven’t paid too much attention to Battle Quest yet, but I’ve gotta say it looks nice. The Wii U’s power may not be completely showcased, but the game’s graphics look crisp and colorful. I’m liking the looks of this baby :)

  • the dragon reborn

if that cloth pig beast had the triforce how did link win?

    • http://www.facebook.com/jordan.dipalma Jordan DiPalma

Didn’t know how to use it, I guess. Kind of like someone using a machine gun as a club; it’s a powerful weapon, but only if used properly.

    • Zelda is the Bomb!!!

Well if Ganondorf had the Triforce how did Link win? BECAUSE HE’S THE HERO OF TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Emma Mix

Love the beard, Link. Now all you need is a Mases ‘fro.

  • http://axlethebeast.com/ Axle the Beast

The Triforce is probably nothing more than the end-of-level goal.

But this is interesting. One thing I like about these videos is I can year the music. I sounds like Battle Quest’s music is going to be pretty solid. =D

  • http://www.facebook.com/drake.wietstock Drake Wietstock

Looks nice, but couldn’t really grasp the concept of it with such short clips

  • AnimeLinkGirl

    THAT IS LINK
If he was in his 40s

  • Zelda is the Bomb!!!

Link looks strange with beard XD
