“Gerudo Valley Theme” Cover by One-Man Band

SetterwindNovember 19th, 2012 by Setterwind

It’s another cover song! This one is performed by BlackburnHits on YouTube. This guy is similar to Sp0ntanius, who also does multi-frame Zelda cover videos, but the difference is that BlackburnHits uses more conventional instruments such as Saxophone, Tamborine and percussion. Check out the video after the jump!

I like the Jazz feel to this cover. It changes it up a little bit and makes it kind of saucy. Saxophone has always been one of my favorite instruments because of how much it lends to the music. Using a Sax, Tamborine and a good beat together was a great way to give an overplayed cover a new sound. What did you think of this cover? Did you like the instruments used? Let us know in the comments!

    Pretty cool.

Mario: Careful Luigi, what are you doing with that?!

Luigi: Something I should’ve done a LONG TIME AGO!

    Mario: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    Luigi: *Comments*

Luigi: The lack of comments here was driving me crazy!

    Mario: Oh, phew!

    • The Hylian Monolith

So is that a first? That’s the funniest and most tolerabe way I’ve ever seen it done. Not that the others were funny, but this one is slightly more so. Congratulations.

One other thing…You’re on a Zelda site, but your username is itsameluigi1290, which is aproably a MArio reference, and your icon is Shadow the Hedgehog. Why? And how do you change your icon?

      • d

it is a username he/she can make it whatever they want

        • itsameluigi1290

          He :P

        • The Hylian Monolith

Yes, I agree. They can make it whatever they want. Such as d. I almost made my username Whimsical_Design, then considered WanderingStar, but just chose my typical Moniolith username-at that time, it was totally new. NOW I use it for everything ;)

      • itsameluigi1290

Oh, it’s not a first, I saw somebody else already commented. I just like spongebob :P

Well, itsameluigi1290 is my username for everything, and Shadow is my favorite character of all time (Tied with Link). And to change your icon, go to Discus’ main site, and change it.

Great work! I play the saxophone too (alto), though I see he has a tenor. Maybe I could make a cover myself too. How about that?

and then maybe harmonize with him

      • itsameluigi1290

Luis. What Kool-Aid have you been drinking? Great reference by me. Huh-larious!

My my, that’s a very nice instrument you have there. It’d be a shame if I was to duel you with an Ocarina.

As much as I like this, I do have to admit that this song is remixed WAY to much. Seriously, there are lots of other great Zelda songs that barely get remixed.

    • ET34

…like the Song of Storms or my favorite, Dragon Roost Island.

      • The Hylian Monolith

Or Beedle’s Theme or the Troubled Realm(ST) or the Silent Realm theme or the TP Hyrule Castle Town theme or the OoT Temple Warp songs or the WW Great Sea…

Ect, ect. All of which I will post when I finally get around to mainkg a YouTube account.

  • Sid

It’s only lacking some bass to be great.

  • shogun_zidane

That is sooo awesome, I want a saxophone!

  • littlemissgleek

    I agree! I want a saxophone!

  • BPaige634

I love how he used a saxophone! I play Alto Saxophone and even though he is using a Tenor, I still love it! Great job!
